How did I not know about this sooner! Really wanted some chicken tikka masala. Called them and they were super friendly on the phone and told me it would be 25 minutes. I showed up in 18 and they had my food ready. No touch system in place to help with COVID19 concerns. Food was awesome! Great serving size as I got two meals out of my chicken tikka. Great flavor. Rice was really good. Kids got butter chicken which had a little bit of heat to it but was really creamy and delicious. Also got two meals out of the order. We ordered food for catering, The whole tray of Gobi 65 was spoiled and smelled like it was made a few days ago & just heated for my order, all the other food items were bland and lacking flavor. we took the tray of spoiled gobi 65 back & the manager there was very rude to us & they basically said that's the way they make their food & refused to accept any responsibility. Allow me to preface this review by stating that I might be slightly biased because I am totally devastated over the loss of my favorite Indian restaurant, Dhaba Indy, which was here in this same spot before it closed and Biryani Hut replaced it. I was going to give it a 3 but I'll give it a 4 for benefit of the doubt. For those of you who frequented Dhaba before, here's the lowdown on the transition: the menu is smaller. They took out all the awesome little street snacks (REST IN PEACE) and some of the main dishes, but still have dosa, a lot of vegetarian and meat entrees, and of course biryani. Another change is that it looks like the price has increased slightly, which isn't a huge deal, but Dhaba was already pricy, so dinner for 2 here last night was $30. They still have a buffet at lunch, and it seems like a lot of the same stuff probably carries over to that. Didn't recognize any of the employees, but some of the dishes were similar if not the same, so clearly there are connections between the two. I ordered the chicken biryani. PSA, it's definitely big enough for 2 people to share if not literally 3 people. I mean, it's massive. For some reason I thought it wasn't quite as flavorful as Dhaba's biryani (interesting since it's called Biryani Hut), but was still pretty tasty. Unfortunately I didn't even make it to the chicken, which was all at the bottom of the (very deep) bowl. I took home not one but two to-go boxes full of biryani. My friend had the chicken 65, which is an item carried over from the Dhaba menu. This was still really good. The waiter asked what spice level she wanted: mild or American mild...LOL. The American mild surprisingly still packs a bit of heat, but that's not surprising because this chicken is literally red from all the spices. If you're going to order naan, don't bother with the regular, try the butter or garlic or some other kind. The regular naan was not good. It was super thin. (Downgrade from Dhaba' s pillowy naan, sigh.) I need to try some more things here to really sort out my opinion of it. I'm sure it's a good restaurant, I'm still just so attached to Dhaba that Biryani Hut didn't live up to expectations. read more

I first want to say I am not an expert on Indian food but always looking for a new dining experience. Briyani Hut is an informal little place tucked away in a strip mall. Decided to try them because they offered a buffet on the weekends and wanted to taste different things. The cost of the buffet was 24.99 which seemed a bit high but a canned soft drink and freshly baked Naan is included with the cost. The Naan was excellent and one could almost make a meal on it alone. I also enjoyed the Butter Chicken which had an excellent taste to other times I have eaten it. The food has a good spice to it but is not overly spicy. Various chicken, goat, pork and various vegetable dishes. My only real criticism is the food on the buffet could have been warmer but in all fairness, we were there in the middle of a Sunday afternoon well outside the lunch hour, which could account for that . If you want to try Indian food give it a try! It is very informal so don't expect to be blown away by decor and ambiance. A definite 4 star experience read more

We were seated immediately and the food was served within 10 minutes of ordering. Everything tasted great - probably the best butter chicken we've had and their goat curry hit a spot. We only discovered this place during the pandemic, which means we still haven't dined in yet. All of our orders have been take-out only. Still though, that take-out is fire. I love that they have such a large selection of vegetarian items on the menu! And I'm not just talking about main entrees, either. This place has so many vegetarian items on the appetizer menu as well. Onion Pakota, Gobi Pepper Fry, and Baby Corn Manchuria--I'm coming for you next! So far, I've tried the Veg Mix Curry, Paneer Tikka Masala, and the Paneer Butter Masala. Not the most adventurous, but ohhhh, so rich, tangy, creamy, and savory. There are so many other dishes on the menu that I'm excited to try. I've got to share that the serving sizes are large enough that you should easily be able to get two meals out of your entree. And of course, this heats up really well and is possibly even more scrumptious the next day. My husband says he really likes their touch-free pick-up system in place during COVID. I just had a VERY frustrating FIRST experience with Biryani Hut. A friend recommended this restaurant. I placed an order online. When I arrived to pick up the order, I was told a former employee had hacked their account and they had been trying to correct this issue for several days. They had me call a phone number, I waited on hold around 15 minutes to talk with someone only to be told they could not help. I left without food and now have to contact my bank to cancel the charge. It was VERY frustrating that the owner was aware of the issue, was unable to get it fixed, and let a new customer walk out the door without food and left me to deal with a known issue. My first time trying Indian food was at this place here last month. It's about 5 minutes from my home. I had the spicy goat with jasmine rice and a sort of garlic flatbread. It was simply amazing. I went back for lunch and tried their pepper chicken, also AMAZING. Food was fresh to order and good portion sizes. I can't wait to try other things on the menu! We dined at biryani hut this evening. They were very very busy with takeouts and were not going to allow dine in but they then agreed and were so cordial about it. Mani served us and his service was excellent. He was extremely accommodating and courteous. The food was so fresh and so delicious. This was my first visit here and definitely won't be my last as I am looking forward to returning soon and trying some other dishes. The Shrimp Tikka Masala was loaded with shrimp! I've seen several negative reviews and I don't understand it but I guess things can happen. As I said, there was a constant flow of takeouts all night so apparently the majority of people are very happy with the restaurant food and service. If you're on the fence I'd say give it a try. My husband and I love Indian food and stopped in for lunch yesterday since we were in the area for an obligation. We had read a lot of positive reviews on here and were excited to dig in to our food. It did not disappoint!! We ordered Gobi Manchurian, Chicken Tikka Masala, Paneer Vindaloo, Garlic Naan, and a Mango Lassi. Every component was so amazing!! We could not stop eating the Gobi Machurian - crispy batter and perfect sauce! Loved it! The entrees (chicken tikka and paneet vindaloo) were also delectable. Yumm... Just an All around great meal. Did I mention the portions were huge - I'll definitely get a second, if not third, meal out of my entree. The hubs got 2 meals out of his. Oh - can't forget that the attentiveness gentleman working the front counter. He even gave us complimentary 3-pieces of gulab jamun - and it warm and just divine!! This is a new favorite spot for us. The wife and I think Biryani Hut's Indian cuisine is the best on the NE side of Indy. We were sad to see their AYCE buffet go during covid-19 restrictions. We liked to get a serving of each of our favorites, and eat at it over a couple days. Great deal at $11.78 including tax. Unfortunately, they don't have plans to re-open the buffet. I was told it was a management decision. Maybe too much trouble for the staff for too low a price? How about if buffet customers pay by weight of their selections? ( Like Journey ) If they don't want to open a buffet, another idea is a carry out sampler THEY put together. A big serving spoon of a selection in a medium foam cup, six items in six cups. For example, a mild mix, medium mix, spicy mix, or two of each. I enjoyed similar carry out samplers (Rijsttafel) from an Indonesian restaurant years ago when I lived in the DC area. Let's see if we can get management to re-open the AYCE buffet! Or at least, carry out samplers. read more

I never leave reviews but I'm kinda disappointed. This restaurant was my go to Indian food spot for me and my sister. I see they have changed their management, and in this case it didn't bring good. They totally shrinked their menu down by 75% and added American options, for why I'm not sure. The prices were increased by a substantial amount but the quality decreased. The food wasn't disgusting per-say, but it wasn't the same it used to be. I ordered from Biryani Hut for the first time and it was absolutely delicious! From their rice, which was seasoned and light, to the palak paneer... it was one of the best I've had! I also ordered the paneer tikka masala and it was very savoury. The naan was a little thinner than I expected but a must-order. Buffet is good, but we got takeout recently, and their cheese naan, which is supposed to be stuffed with paneer cheese, had no stuffing and had melted cheddar cheese on the top. Wow! I've found my new go to Fishers area takeout place. Full of flavor and a great value. We ordered Murgh Masala, the Veg Mix Curry, and 4 pieces of garlic Naan. All for under $30 to feed 3 people. Skip Chinese takeout and go here. The Murgh masala had delicate chicken and a new flavor with every bite, begging me to keep eating.
