I walked in at 11:40 AM. There was no greeting. The person working the front was on a call with headphones on. I stood at the front to ask her to order. She looked at me and mumbled something that sounded like "take a seat" and motioned towards the tables. I sat down expecting to be served. By 11:50 at least 3 online orders came in, she took a phone order, and two other walk-up to-go orders. At this point I walked over and asked her why she wasn't taking my order. She became argumentative and said she never told me to sit down. Well, she also never greeted me or asked me if I wanted to order for here or to-go. She continues to argue with me when I explained all this to her. I asked to speak to a manager and she refused to provide me with any information. I was excited to try this place and came from out of town as I was passing through. Needless to say, I won't be back. I always try to give restaurants positive reviews. I was even willing to place the order and still leave a positive review after all this, but refusing to provide information so that I can give my feedback is not okay. read more

This Indian food was incredible!!! We were the only non-Indians in the place except for my son in law. It was so flavorful and really busy! There are tables in there but it's a go to the counter business. Not a buffet. Don't expect a white tablecloth. Their pastries looked amazing but we were so full after dinner we couldn't eat more. Last night we bought a dinner from this place. Despite of telling our preferences and food choices about mild spicy and vegetarian biryani, we were given super spicy and chicken biryani instead. Took the family to try this new Biryani spot and I must say we were pleasantly surprised. We were bummed when the Indian buffet spot closed nearby, but this spot opening eases that pain! We ordered Butter Chicken, Lamb Vindaloo and the special chicken Biryani along with some Naan and rice. Everything was made to order and the flavors and spices were wonderful. Fresh, on point and flavorful!! The chicken was tasty and tender, the lamb popped with rich flavor and the garlic Naan was a wonderful compliment to the great flavors. We will DEFINITELY be adding Biryani Junction to our restaurant rotation and are happy to welcome them to the neighborhood. There was exceed turmeric in all Biryanis and barely any salt and spices. The dishes took really long to arrive and they were disappointing.

The food in this restaurant is excellent with the addition of also giving the best value for money. My friend from India who accompanied my sister and I says it is totally authentic food honoring traditions with excellence. Three of us enjoyed an excellent meal yesterday and in the past my family have savored the deliciously divine preparations that come from the kitchen. Their bakery is an added attraction. Can I give less than a star? Why is this place ranked high (let me say fake reviews)? So came to this place based on rating. I will never do that again. First off, the smell of this place hits you from the parking lot, and I mean hits you. It's the only restaurant on that side of the plaza. It looks new upon entry, and you see they also have sweets. All seems nice--a little dirty on the inside tho. Anyways there was a little line to order. While we waited, we wondered if we could even stand to eat there with the smell and Smokiness. The kids were starving, so we braved it. First and foremost, the woman at the register was rude. She was so friendly and had a 10 min conversation with the Indian couple in front of us but was rude when we approached. I asked what the dish came with, and she seemed so annoyed that I would ask this. Then again annoyed when I asked about the spicy level for the kids. They are kids????... Again we decided to push on because we were hungry. As we waited for our order, two little kids came out behind the counter screaming bloody murder and running around, jumping on chairs, and banging on tables. I thought something was wrong. I was shocked no one said anything. The place had about 15 people in there. The parents never did anything... the kids continued these stunts every few mins the whole time we were there. When the food arrived, I decided to take my daughter to wash her hands. As we waited for the room, I went in after the check out lady. The water wasn't working in the bathroom. I watched the lady walk right back to the register and handled the food. She never washed her hands. I ignored it, but then my husband took our son to the bathroom. The cook was coming out at the same time. Again no water, and let's just say the bathroom was foul. So the cook didn't wash his hands either. This place should be in violation of many Health codes and condemned. Also, food was expensive for proportion size. Don't listen to the good reviews. I can't believe this place is open and people come here. I have registered a complaint against this place. read more

Love the ambiance it's nice and simple while. Ring inviting. I like looking at the desserts and cakes. The food offerings are extensive, everything we have tried has been really good, especially the saag paneer and butter paneer masala. Their garlic naan is outstanding. Their service has always been very good and everyone is friendly. Highly recommend calling in your order there is usually a line and 25-30 minute wait for your order. read more

Ordered specialty Family biriyani. In the call the person told me it was a Dum Biryani. But when we got it home the Biryani was actually a boneless one. The chicken was very chewy and the biriyani not fresh for Saturday. I feel the rice was cooked separately with the chicken curry. Then everything put together andheated. We went to check out the food the first week they opened and got the goat biryani, chicken lollipop and cut mirchi bajis - all were delicious. They were extremely busy with lots of people doing take out and even though they were well staffed it still took a little while to get the order in. Our friends got the malai kofta and naan and goat biryani and loved it as well. The biryani was very tasty and has a lot of meat and flavor compared to many other restaurants. We will probably do take out in the future as the ambience inside restaurant was very casual and noisy. We also bought a few slices of the cakes and loved all of them- especially the black forest cake and mango flavor cake. They didn't have sweet tamarind chutney which would have gone well as condiment within the mirchi baji. Will definitely go back to try other menu items for take out. read more

Decent Indian food at a good price. I ordered the lunch combo from Doordash and the portions were fair ($10 for a garlic naan, rice, and two entrees). They even threw in a free gulab jamun! I ordered the butter paneer and paneer tikka masala. Both tasted good and were flavored well but ultimately not very distinct from each other. They were also oilier than I would prefer. I am regular customer to Biryani junction. I recently had a catering service. Ordered food for 35 people. Food was really tasty. They provided me door delivery which saved my time. Krishna helped me placing the order just a day before on short notice and still provided the service on time. They provided the food in hot box which was easy to carry without spilling out. My first time here! I ordered Butter Chicken, Chicken Tikka Masala, special Chicken Biryani and Garlic Naan. When I placed my order, the cashier told me it will take about 15minutes. 30minutes passed, my order wasn't ready, I have to check a couple of times and asked how much longer?? Finally got my order after 40 minutes!! The cashier didn't apologize or anything. She made me feel that I'm such a bother to her. It's just too bad, the service was awful but the food was good. This is a small, simple restaurant. You order at the counter and they bring the food. It wasn't super quick but it was very good at a reasonable price. We had 2 goat curry and butter chicken combos, one chicken tikki and Butter chicken combo, samosas and plain naan as well as drinks. The price averaged about $15/person. The sauce was soooo good. I loved the goat, which is not easy to find in restaurants in general. I wish I had more of the naan right now. We will go back whenever we're in San Ramon. read more

I am so sad to write this review. We have always loved coming here but I'm not sure if there is new management or what but the customer service has been so awful the last few visits and the last 3 times we ordered, something was missing. The last time I called because 3/5 items were missing or incorrect. They didn't offer to refund or correct it that night but said I could could get the order free next time I ordered. When I called to get that done, the 2 gentleman I spoke to were very impolite, said they didn't remember that and disconnected from me. After multiple attempts to call they did not answer. They did once I called from another number. I will never be ordering from them again. And I hope everyone considers choosing another locate business to support, one that is kind to their loyal customers. The only reason I'm not giving 1 star is because the food is good, but not worth the headaches. read more

Good pastries and puffs, we tried 2 biryanis from here and didn't enjoy those a lot. Veg dum biryani was super greasy, decent flavor, rice quality, and spice level, but extreme greasiness left a bad aftertaste. I will go back for pastries and appetizers, and hope the chef gets the feedback to control the oil usage. read more
