I walked in, and was greeted by Josh. He was with a customer, but made time for some face to face after a short wait. I knew the basic idea of what I wanted, and had two ideas for location. Josh listened to what I had in mind, and threw in some suggestions to fill in the blanks I had in my plan. He was always certain to be sure I was getting what I wanted, but the collaborative process had us both excited to see this tattoo turned into a finished product. After the first brainstorming, Josh & I kept in contact tossing ideas around until I was able to come into the shop. The first visit was the outline. Josh warned me the side of the hip would be painful, but he never got to the point of trying to talk me out of the idea. (And he was right! Ouch! But I'm still happy with the placement and glad I chose against the front of the hip, which he said would've hurt worse.) I came back a week later for the fill & details, and wow! Most people with my design pick Celtic knotwork as a fill, but I'm super pumped we went with the runed stones instead! Not only it is bad-ass, it resulted in a unique tattoo design!) I'm going back tomorrow for my touch-up, now that it's healed up, and can't wait to show off my latest art purchase!

I walked out with a very short version of Dilbert's pointy haired boss. Just love Rachel - she's delightful but am completely perplexed as I have no idea how or why this happened. Some areas are less than 1/4 inch long, leaving bald looking patches. My bad - didn't pay enough attention while it was going on, but I trusted the, "Sure, I get it." I'm devastated. (Okay, nobody died but I'm VERY unhappy.) She said it would grow out. Well, yes it will, but when you're 30 a few months having something growing out to where you want to be seen in public is different from when you're my age as this now represents a huge percentage of the rest of my life. :(

After the initial color application produced little change, additional toner was applied for approximately 40 minutes. The result was bright pink hair, followed by a second correction attempt that left my roots bright orange. As a teacher with a strict professional dress code, these results were not wearable for work. When I contacted the salon the next day seeking a correction, I was told I would need to pay an additional $40 for product to fix the color. I did not feel I should be charged to correct a result that was not what I requested. After requesting to speak with the owner, I was informed the salon had decided to "part ways" with me and offered a $40 refund on my $250 service. The disappointing color result was frustrating, but the lack of accountability and customer service afterward was even more disappointing. I cannot recommend this salon based on my experience.
