Really disappointed with this restaurant. The fundamental issue is that I thought the biscuits were too dense and not light and fluffy like I prefer. The entire meal was disappointing. I know I made it look very pretty in my photos, but don't be fooled. Here is the complete review. We found the green tomatoes bland and appeared to have been frozen before being prepared. The "Gravy Train" with the mini biscuit was inedible. The gravy itself was OK. Nothing special, not one of the three were "great." But the mini biscuits were terrible, hard, dense chunks of dough. I ate one of them and discarded the rest. The "Chicken Ditch the Waffle" was equally terrible. Whatever they did to turn the biscuit into "fake" French toast is a 100% fail. They were as dense and unappealing as the mini biscuits. The chicken itself was fine. If I was only rating the chicken I'd probably give it a 3.5. The best dish was actually the "GOAT." It was served with a Standard biscuit which we thought was still too dense and dry. I recommend finding an independent restaurant that serves real, "from scratch" food. I should point out that the service crew in the dining room who delivered the food as well as provided cleanup and assistance, were exceptional. They were friendly, courteous, and focused on customer service. I'm sure they deserve more than they are being paid. It was obvious many of them were spanish-speaking immigrants. We stopped here for lunch, and I couldn't believe the variety of ways to eat a biscuit. Had the berry version with Brie. I was a little hesitant since I'm an egg-and-cheese or plain biscuit person but this was so good! It's a ton of food and very filling but a good, different thing to eat. We walked in and were greeted so warmly and got help on choosing what to order. Since being in the Carolina's and discovering for the first time fried green tomatoes I've had an obsession. I looked under Google Maps and Biscuit Belly came up; one of many places on my to go list. It's a beautiful establishment and once I entered, I was greeted and the young lady was amazingly sweet, very courteous. There was others there, but it was very quiet and spacious, so I assumed I missed the rush. I came here with my husband a few weeks ago as a quick brunch spot before a massage. For starters, parking in the parking lot is tight as the parking lot is shared with all of the businesses in that area. However, there is a parking garage across the street, but the restaurant doesn't validate parking. The restaurant is good about warning where not to park to avoid tows. I'll admit I chose this restaurant blindly and this experience was a little different from our standard dining experience, we were greeted at the door by a host and handed a menu to review while being led to the front of the restaurant where we ordered at the counter. We were provided a number stand and prompted to seat ourselves. We made our drinks at the fountain and sat down. There were plenty of seating and the tables were clean. All of your silverware, napkins, and extras are already on the table before you sit. I ordered the brekky bowl plus brisket and my husband ordered a take on a chicken and waffles except the waffle is replaced by a biscuit. Both entrees were delicious and filling! We were stuffed after eating. I also ordered an iced mocha coffee (non decaf - a mistake for me) but it was good. I would say a little on the sweeter side. I am very glad I tried this place when they first opened, it is now in my rotation of favorite breafast/ brunch spots. I absolutely love Biscuit Belly!! From the food, to the service, to the cleanliness, Biscuits Belly exceeds all expections. I have been here several times and have tried several things, and have yet to find anything that isn't delicious. Including the drinks (love the tractor craft sodas)! A few favorites of mine: the Gravy train, The T-bird, and the cheese grits. On top of the food, the service here is awesome. The entire staff is friendly, welcoming, and extremely helpful. Really great brunch spot in plaza Midwood! As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by a very nice employee. She explained the menu and let us know some of the most popular items. I ordered the basic biscuit with bacon, an over easy egg and cheese. I also got a side of loaded tots. The biscuit was huge and super filling. It had about 6 pieces of bacon in it! I went to the restaurant again recently with some friends and I was not very impressed. It is very difficult to find parking but the second we hit the entryway the staff was very friendly. This time I ordered Smokeshow and the lavender mimosa (which is very flavorful). I was with two other women and my cocktail and one woman's food came out within 5 minutes. It was much faster service this time expect for the fact that 30 minutes went by and my food did not come out. I was trying to give the restaurant the benefit of the doubt bc it was packed. After 30 mins I asked one of the servers to see if our order was up and it was cleared that it was lost. The server asked us what we ordered and within 5-7 mins got our order to us. She also gave us a gift card for the trouble. I appreciate the gesture but I also wasn't a huge fan of the omelette. It was covered in almost too much meat with little to no tomato or cheese. Stopped by Biscuit Belly on our recent trip to Charlotte and man was it good! I started the trip off with the Drunken Joe which was a boozy coffee with coffee liquor, cream, vanilla, and whipped cream on top. Overall a pretty tasty coffee, a little on the sweet side, but still a good way to start the morning! We also got an order of the Bonuts. These I honestly think were the star of the show. Little Biscuit donut holes coated in cinnamon sugar and served with a bourbon cream cheese frosting and berry jam. The donut holes themselves were tasty, but smothered in the frosting and jam, wow, you just got to give them a try!! For the main I ordered the Go Goetta biscuits. Not one, but two full sized biscuits topped with Goetta sausage gravy. Pretty tasty dish overall, although my biscuits were slightly underdone so that's the only reason this visit wasn't a 5 star. My girlfriend got the Mama's Boy with loaded breakfast tots. The Mama's Boy was very tasty! A Buttermilk fried chicken breast topped with roasted jalapeño pimento cheese, spicy belly pickles, and fried green tomato. A lot to work through, but a delicious biscuit to get!! The parking in the lot isn't great, but there's a parking deck across the road. When we came in we got in line and checked out the menu while we waited to order. Everyone that worked here was super nice and I really appreciate the staff keeping up with the tables; making sure they're cleaned right away and making sure people have a table number before they sit down. If you're a two top it's definitely easier to get a seat than a big group. The food was excellent and came out quickly. Biscuit Belly is my go-to brunch spot when I'm craving some comfort food or non-Southerners are here for a visit. I've been lucky to snag parking in the lot, although it can get full. Once inside though, it's a fast, smooth process of ordering at the counter and taking your number to your table. Once your food & drinks are ready, they are brought directly to your table by a friendly staff member, who asks if you need anything else. Everyone who works there seems to really enjoy it. Inside, the aesthetic is bright with colorful murals on the walls, as well as branded merch for purchase. There's a good variety in the menu, from coffee drinks to breakfast cocktails, sweet to savory options. Most recently, we were impressed by the tenderness and flavor of the brisket biscuit.
