I've been here a few times, and I'm never disappointed. It's such a cute brunch spot with bar seating, plenty of booths, and tables, making it a great place to dine. The service is always fast and friendly, and of course, the food is good! I started with the fried green tomatoes, and they were easily the highlight of the meal. They were fried so well and topped with bacon, tomato, lettuce, and a tasty remoulade. I'm still thinking about them honestly! For my entrée, I ordered the 3 Little Pigs Omelet. Unfortunately, it was a bit underwhelming. It was smaller than I expected and didn't really resemble an omelet. It was a little messy and slightly runny for my taste. On the side, I added a single pancake and a bowl of grits, both of which were delicious though. I had a good experience and will definitely be back. I just wish the omelet had been prepared a little better.

After many visits over the years, Ruby Sunshine has officially taken the top spot as my husband's and my favorite breakfast place in Charlotte. Their menu is vast and varied. They even have a "Dietary Preference" menu (look for it online), with keto, gluten-free, and vegetarian options. Some servers aren't aware of this menu, but they will see it in their Toast device if they look for it. We have landed on a couple of favorite dishes that are repeats for us. I like the Spanish Omelet keto-style. Instead of a biscuit and grits, you get a half of an avocado (sliced) and a roasted tomato. The omelet is always full of flavor, and I love it. My husband's favorite is their White Chocolate Bread Pudding Pancakes, with bacon ($2 extra). Don't let the name deter you--these pancakes aren't too thick. They are slightly chewy, and the white chocolate whiskey sauce is amazing. He rarely uses the syrup! Ruby's coffee is always good and strong, and their service is great, no matter who you get. I'm already thinking of when we will return next!

Brunch here is always a hit!! The options are plenty and the service is great which is what keeps this place packed on any given day.

Wonderful breakfast place. Everything was cooked to perfection. Omelette, breakfast tacos and breakfast sandwich was wonderful and nothing was overcooked. I will be back.

Thank you Yelp, Ashley and Ruby sunshine for this great experience. The food was so good! The tots and beignets were so yummy and filling! Kiddo got the cinnamon swirl pancakes and those were great as well. Our server was so nice, I wish I had noted her name.

Ruby Sunshine started off just okay. We were told there would be a 20-25 minute wait for a party of eight, but it turned into almost an hour. They also close at 2:00 PM, and we arrived around noon, so the extended wait was disappointing. Once seated, we were greeted by a friendly server, though it was loud and I didn't catch her name. The kids had French toast and the Little Champion (eggs, bacon, and fruit). Unfortunately, the French toast was very hard and overcooked. The shrimp and grits had great flavor and were very enjoyable. The chicken sandwich was overcooked on the outside but moist on the inside, so I removed the breading. The fried green tomatoes were good and flavorful. We ordered beignets, but they never came out; however, our server removed them from the bill without issue. Overall, it was an okay visit. Hopefully, they can improve on the wait time and a few food issues.

Very mixed feelings. From the moment we walked in we were greeted and then served by the same person who we could tell was having a bad day and did not want to be there. The sad part is it was our anniversary brunch and out of all places we picked here. We all have bad days though so I guess it happens. Later during our visit their system went down which probably aided in her being even more annoyed during the course of our visit. I am still giving them 3 stars because my creamy spiced latte was tasty and my gulf shrimp omelet was very good and the eggs were not overcooked. The inside ambiance is a good size with indoor and outdoor seating and although I added myself to the yelp waitlist they do not do weekday waitlist just fyi (which is fine because it doesn't seem necessary). Also the white chocolate bread pudding pancake is nice but get the sauce on the side because it is very sweet.

Went here on a Sunday when there was a home game whoops! Very hard to find parking on this day. They have a small lot attached, but we ended up finding street parking. When we got in the building it was very crowded, lucky we had a reservation ready to go! Very popular spot and I can see why. The brunch was a classic, many vast offerings from sweet to savory. They had mimosas , Bloody Marys, etc. the coffee was also good - a huge plus. I got avocado toast with a poached egg on top, fruit and some sausage. My friend got grits and it was reportedly excellent! Our waitress was so sweet, she made us feel like friends and really made the experience feel way more personalized and caring. They were so busy, but food did not lag timing wise or lack with any flavor or taste. Atmosphere was busy but a good vibe. Overall, would definitely be back - but not on game day (I guess unless I'm going to the game)

My friends and I stopped into Ruby Sunshine for brunch and had such a great time. I ordered the shrimp and grits, and it was delicious. We sat outside, which was perfect since there was plenty of shade. Thankfully, we didn't have to wait long, and the service was excellent.

Started my morning with a lavender Paloma because, apparently, I'm the kind of person who drinks tequila before noon now. It was on the sweeter side, but honestly, it was early -- coffee felt too responsible. Then came the main event: chicken with French toast bites. Let me just say... whoever came up with this combo deserves a raise and possibly a small monument. The chicken? Crispy perfection. The French toast bites? Golden, crunchy, and living their best life. The syrup tied it all together like a love story I didn't know I needed before 10 a.m. If you're hunting for a weekday brunch spot where you can justify day drinking and eat food that makes you want to high-five the chef, this is the place. Highly recommend -- just be prepared to question why you ever bothered making breakfast at home.

    Patio area with parking lot

Came here because of the strong reviews and left pretty underwhelmed. The space is large with both indoor and outdoor seating, we chose to seat outside. The parking lot was full, but street parking was easy to find. I ordered the fried chicken with French toast bites. Unfortunately, both were bland and overcooked. The chicken was dry, and the French toast bites had potential but didn't deliver. Drinks were also just okay. The biggest concern was hygiene. I observed staff petting dogs and then handling food and opening doors without washing their hands, which was off-putting. I also ordered a biscuit that was supposed to come with butter, but it didn't. On top of that, several city and county taxes and fees were applied to the bill, a first for me so beware. Overall, this didn't live up to the hype. Between the food quality and hygiene concerns, I wouldn't return, though the space itself might appeal if you're just looking for a casual, dog-friendly hangout.

Hi there, Apologies that we were unable to reach someone at the restauraunt. You may bring a cake as part of your celebration but we are unable to refrigerate it.

What is the best time of day to get there on Sundays?

What is the limit of guests per table?

I had recently tried this drink at another Haraz location and loved it so much that I officially considered myself a matcha drinker. When I received my drink, I noticed it looked much pinker than it had at the other locations I'd visited. I assumed it had just been mixed and that the usual layers of matcha, strawberry, and whipped cloud had blended together, so I didn't think much of it. However, after taking my first sip in the car, it immediately tasted like strawberry milk. Since I was on my way to work, I kept drinking it, expecting the matcha flavor to come through, but it never did. It was disappointing because the drink was nothing like the one I've had several times at other Haraz locations. I hope this location places an emphasis on training and consistency so the drinks meet the same standard as the rest of the Haraz locations. On a positive note, the staff members were kind, welcoming, and greeted me as soon as I walked in.

They sell out quickly, so the move is to get there early and grab one while it's still warm. Trust me, if you're going to get one, get two. The café sits inside the lobby level of the Charlotte Marriott City Center, which makes it easy to access if you're already walking around Uptown. If you're doing a quick drive-by, just be friendly with the valet--tip them and pop inside to grab your coffee and pastry. That search led me to Vicente in South End, and I'm happy to say it absolutely earned its spot on my list. The kouign-amann here was slightly lighter and a bit less dense and buttery than the ones I remember from the Bay Area, but it still hit all the right notes--caramelized edges, flaky layers, and just enough indulgence to satisfy the craving. When you find one in Charlotte, you take note. I also ordered a frangipane (marzipan) croissant, which is always one of my go-to pastries when it's done well. This one delivered--rich, nutty, and comforting without being overly sweet. I'm not much of a chocolate pastry person, so I tend to gravitate toward custard- or almond-filled items, and this bakery clearly understands how to execute those classics. The space itself is beautiful--clean glass storefront, modern aesthetic, and a welcoming feel from the moment you walk in. It's attached to a large apartment complex with underground parking, which makes it surprisingly easy to access. Very walkable, very convenient, and refreshingly low-stress compared to some of the trendier spots. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the prices felt reasonable for the quality. One small wish: I'd love to see a late-day pastry special or a loyalty program. I'm the kind of regular who will absolutely show up more often if there's an incentive--and let's be honest, pastries are hard to resist when there's a little nudge. I'll definitely be back, especially if they start experimenting with more creative flavors. A kouign-amann with poached fruit--nectarine, mango, or passionfruit--would have me running back through the door. And candidly, I'm grateful Charlotte's pastry scene is still growing. It means there's room for bakeries like this to shine and keep raising the bar. As someone who loves good food, I'm always rooting for local bakers and artisans to succeed. Bottom line: A beautiful neighborhood bakery with solid execution, friendly service, and a kouign-amann worth the trip. I'll be back--and I'm keeping an eye on that pastry case.
