Underwhelming. I've been wanting to try this place for awhile. I ordered Fire in Your Belly and a Cinnamocha. My husband ordered the Frenchie and a side of bacon and eggs with cheese. The Cinnamocha was far too chocolate-y and had an insane mountain of whipped cream. Like I'm talking maybe 2 cups of it. Maybe some people prefer that; I didn't. Our order first came out incorrectly and the server handed me avocado toast. She did promptly return with the right order. My husband's bacon was underdone and the eggs had no cheese in them which he ordered. The service model here is just "fend for yourself" after you have your food. No one comes to check on you and if there is something wrong with your order, you have to awkwardly cut the line to just get someone's attention. Just a standard breakfast place IMO. read more

Biscuit Belly was great, I want more! I was a little nervous when I first walked in because it was packed! You pick up a menu at the door and join the line to place your order- the line moved pretty quickly so that was a plus. Being that it was my first time I asked the cashier what I should choose and she suggested the Rockwell since it was a good combo of the best things! It did not disappoint! A Tasty, freshly made biscuit with a perfectly fried chicken breast smothered in gravy with a slice of cheddar cheese. It was yummy! I also did a side order of tots and those were great! We ordered this for Door Dash and it was a sincere pleasure! Not a single thing disappointed. The biscuit itself is flavorful and isn't dry and crumbly like most. The chicken by itself had great flavor as well. Not sure about the "boozy" in the Boozy Bird-it smelled like straight bourbon and syrup. Since one of us was potentially pregnant and the other is sober-we didn't get to try more than a finger lick of it! Worth a try if you like the wild side I am sure. We had A TIME here! It was such a pleasant surprise. We stopped in on Saturday morning and they were very busy. They are definitely child friendly which we loved. Lots of families present. It was a pleasant volume considering there were lots of babies present. The latte was tasty but the pralines parfait was DELICIOUS!! Highly recommend trying it if you go there. I ordered the Rockwell and it was splendid. My husband ordered the supreme and he ate every bite so I'm going to take it as he enjoyed it. Boy has this place went downhill. Got take out after a morning walk. Arrived early to pick it up and it was ready. Great food should be nice and hot. Boy was I wrong. Potato's were cold. My family and I traveled to the Chesapeake, VA location agreeing winning a gift card and we arrived at 1p and it was super packed (which is a sign of good food). Cute spot, very welcoming with indoor and outdoor seating! When I say the staff here run a tight ship, even with the amount of patrons, we were greeted, advised to order with the cashier and take a number and your order would be right out and within a few minutes we received our food (hot and accurate), CS 6/5!! When you sign up for their loyalty program you receive a complimentary order of bonuts (biscuit donuts) and they came out before I got situated at our table lol. The round bites (3.5/5) dusted in cinnamon sugar almost gave us a sweet hush puppies consistency and were accompanied with a berry jam and bourbon cream cheese frosting (both 5/5)! My niece and daughter both ordered the Rockwell Supreme Biscuit (as pictured: buttermilk fried chicken breast, cheddar, goetta sausage gravy plus bacon and an egg of your choice (both rated a 4/5, chicken and gravy both seasoned perfectly just needed a bit more gravy to tackle the humongous biscuit, lol! My mom ordered the Belly Board (as pictured a huge biscuit, sausage links, 2 eggs your way, and choice of cheesy grits or hash brown, jam & butter, eggs were prepared as ordered so her rating was 5/5! Biscuit Belly is a gem of breakfast spot in Chesapeake Virginia. The food here is wonderful and will surprise you. I got the Rockville biscuit Sandwich which I thoroughly enjoyed, and would highly recommend but the star was the loaded tater tots. They sausage and cheddar stuffed tater tots. First time trying the place out. The menu is pretty much breakfast, but it is called biscuit belly. You can look at a physical menu. There is not a board so make sure to pick up a menu. The cashier was friendly. The server was stellar. She came and checked on us and even brought back a bag when we asked for to go boxes. It was pretty crowded for 1100 on a Friday, but there is indoor and outdoor seating. The decor is cute and it was super clean. The food was great and every plate that went by looked just as good. Came here because of the hype around this place. But it did not live up to my expectations food-wise. I wanted to like this place so bad but as a fried chicken and biscuit lover, this place missed the mark for me and my mom. The restaurant itself is modern and chic. I like the set-up of the tables and how you can put your order number in the utensil holder because it has a hole for it to stand up. When we went, service was prompt. I stood in line for about 5 minutes and waited another 5 minutes for our food to come to the table. We ordered the fried green tomatoes as a side, the bonuts were free since I signed up for the rewards program, the basic biscuit, the Goat, and the kids meal that had the mini biscuits , egg, and jam. My mother and I have the same sentiments about our sandwiches: chicken was dry, chicken lacked seasoning, and the biscuit was dry as well. For me, I don't believe the chicken was fried in a way that I expected or preferred. It was really dry and lacked a proper crunch.... The Goat was disappointing for me. I did not like the jelly and goat cheese combo. It was also pretty messy. I don't think I would have cared about the mess if my taste buds were satisfied. I should have tried a different sandwich and maybe my experience would have been completely different! The kids meal was pretty standard but I'm a little upset that none of the kids meals come with chicken! That would have been nice for my 2 year old who loves chicken. We couldn't eat the sausage links since we don't eat pork for religious reasons. The bonuts were not what I expected. I was hoping for a fresh version of a Munchkin. Absolutely not. The actual dough was not sweet, as if there was no sugar in it? The only sugar was coated on the outside of it and even then that wasn't enough for people with a sweet tooth like me. It also wasn't soft. But I'm not sure if these were supposed to be hard or not. I'm not sure if I'll be back! Maybe if a friend dragged me out to try this again. Wow the Biscuit Belly can definitely turn my belly into a biscuit :)))! This place is a great twist to the brunch scene around Chesapeake and Virginia Beach and they feature loaded biscuit sandwiches that are creative and downright delicious. It has been packed for the first few weeks of opening but we were able to check it out when it was less busy. I love the order up front and wait at table system as this could potentially speed up the process to get the wait times down. Brunch spots can be notoriously busy and have crazy wait times and I think this helps reduce that. We ordered the Rockwell Supreme, Fire in Yo Belly, free Bonuts (if you download app), drip coffee, ans an iced latte at the register. The latte came out quick but it was not the best as it was pretty milky. The drip coffee was pretty good for what it is so no complaints there. The Bonuts were small and delicious bites of sweet fried dough and the bourbon jam was a fire combo. The Rockwell Supreme was a huge sandwich and the bacon had good flavor. It may have needed more sauce to it or something but man it was still delicious! The fire in yo belly was the best one as I love Nashville hot chicken! The spicy mayo sauce creeped up with the heat and it just worked well with the fried chicken and biscuit. The biscuit sandwiches are legit here! So cute! Came for the first time on a Friday for breakfast. No lines. We tried the GOAT, the OG with sausage, and the Rockefeller Supreme. We also got the loaded tots and the bonuts. Let me preface by stating I give grace for them being open a short amount of time and that we came at a busy time (the line was at least 30 deep). The line moved at a decent pace. The staff was friendly and they were doing a decent job of clearing away the dirty tables. The vibe was cool. Exposed open ceilings and colorful decor. Their soda supposedly has "pure cane sugar" which is an added touch and they keep disposable take out containers and cups near the fountain machine so you don't need to go to the front or ask a server for them. As it was my first time here, I wasn't sure if the sausage gravy was the correct consistency but it seemed broken to me. It was still tasty tho. My chai latte was ordered as hot but wasn't hot--just warm. The bourbon icing was lumpy but the lumps were cream cheese so it wasn't bad but it was difficult to apply to the bonuts. It was very thick. The chicken breast was a bit tough but it was not overly so. It was tasty. Temperature wise it was also not hot--the cheddar cheese wasn't melted because everything is basically the same temperature. The gravy wasn't hot. Everything except the bonuts and the cheese grits was more like warm. Maybe it's supposed to be this way? Unsure. My husband said the brisket was delicious and tender. I try to support small businesses and even tho this is a franchise--the owner probably appreciates the support. I encourage you to try it out. read more

So my partner and I came here, as I assume, like many, because of a food blogger we follow on Instagram. When we came, it was a little crowded, which is to be expected during this season and likely the attention it's gotten. The seating situation was a little difficult, but let me be clear that it ISN'T THE RESTAURANT'S FAULT! Some customers just tend to be more selfish and linger long after they've finished, can't help human nature when they don't want it. The food and the staff were excellent, my partner and I ordered the Rockwell Supreme, the Fire in the Belly, and the loaded tots. Amazing. Loved it. Will definitely have to try more things. But what really made our day was when the manager came by to thank us for being patient and helping them out (I moved an umbrella back after moving it to try and fight the rain, the rain won lol). The staff was happy to help make the switch and our stuff was boxed up ready to go without skipping a beat! I used to love this place but after the last two times I don't think we will be coming back.. got the Rockwell supreme and my egg had shells all throughout it as well as I ordered a side of tots and when we got home there were none in my box, 3$ for 4 tater tots which is a lil pricey and I didn't even receive them. Not to mention the time before this me and my dad went waited 45 min and hadn't received our to go order of tots so he went to go see what was talking so long and they had set them aside and had been sitting there for at least 30 min, they didn't even apologize or try and make up for it just yelled back and asked who did this handed them to him and walked away. Then the time before that my whole family had gone and they missed an entire order of sides we had gotten for the table. Usually I wouldn't write a review because everyone has bad days and sometimes stuff happens when you're busy but this is the third time something has happened/ been wrong. And twice they weren't even busy, no one in front of us in line and no one had come in after us so it's just not okay at that point. Maaan, arrived here with a visiting friend only to pickup meals for 6 people. Grand opening day, line backed up through the entrance. It only took a few minutes to reach the front, so service was moving and they didn't miss a beat. I had the brisket biscuit, it was paaaacked with brisket and the brisket was packed with flavor. The biscuits were solid enough to stay together and not crumble, but soft and hot enough to know it was fresh. The biscuits were so thick and I had enough meat to split in half. The volume in the restaurant was only loud because of the amounts of people checking this place out, when it slows down I imagine it'll be good enough for a good get-together of friends/acquaintances. They indicate that "Lunch coming soon," and that it's "more lunch than brunch." The food. Opening day at Biscuit Belly did not disappoint! We arrived just as the lunch rush was starting and for their first day, I was really impressed with the quick turnaround time from ordering to getting the food. The menu seems to have something for everyone (maybe not vegans) so whatever you're craving, you can probably find it here. I ordered the G.O.A.T. and my spouse and I split the Love Shack. Both were good although the Love Shack could have used a bit more fruit and jam, in my opinion. The G.O.A.T. was quite good but I found the chicken to be juuuust a little dry. I'm chalking this up to first day jitters and will definitely come back to try again. If you're not a biscuit fan (gasp!) they have a selection of other breakfast options like pancakes and French toast. There is plenty of space inside and on the patio (where we sat) so they can accommodate busy meal times. Everyone was super nice and seemed excited to bust into the Chesapeake food scene.
