I first called to ask a few questions and when I called back the 2nd time during their busy hour she was still very pleasant when taking our orders. Every single thing we ordered was fantastic! The men in our group ordered the Mimosa Fried Chicken Biscuit- it was just ok to me, they LOVED it and said the sriracha slaw added a touch to it. For me it was nothing too different than other places that do this. But that Pulled Pork Biscuit was ssooo tasty what always gets me no matter what restaurant I go to or even when I cook at home is seasoning. Yes, the biscuit was nice and not dry, the jalapeño pimento cheese was a great add but what did it for me was what they marinaded and seasoned the pork in. If you like southern cooking and you're in Asheville you have to stop by Biscuit Head. We arrived late on a Sunday morning and although the line was long the service was quick and the employees were lovely. Tables were bussed quickly and employees were quick to check in on us when we had questions. My husband got the classic biscuit sandwich with fried chicken and a black coffee. I got the mimosa chicken sandwich and a Nutella latte. The mimosa chicken sandwich is such a fun mix of savory and sweet! The Nutella latte was not too sweet or sugary but had delicious flavor. We bought gifts for family and even though they were so busy the worker was SO sweet and helped us get checked out. Honestly a fantastic breakfast. It's a little chaotic in there but the food comes out fast and hot. The parking is also not great but what can you do. So I asked a friend for a recommendation for where to get the best biscuits in Asheville, and she immediately sent me to Biscuit Head. Little did I know I was soon to be in biscuit heaven. I came to the Biltmore location on a Thursday morning, they had the option to order ahead but I chose to order there as I had questions about the menu. I ordered a biscuit sandwich with bacon, and a side of the pimento grits. Everything was mouth wateringly delicious and I was able to hit the spot for my craving of biscuits and cheese grits. I even took a biscuit home with me which reheated amazingly in the oven. The staff was very friendly and accommodating and everything was very well organized. They only had limited outdoor seating which was spaced out to allow for social distancing, and masks were required while ordering. They had a tent set up with menus available and you ordered and paid outside. This is also where you would let them know if you were there for a pick up order. I was very pleased with how well they were handling things and even ordering there my food still came out in a reasonable amount of time. I made a trip to another location later in the weekend because I was that impressed with their biscuits. Definitely recommend if you're looking for delicious biscuits (well and just delicious food in general) and happy I got a little sticker to support them. It's true that the biscuits here are amazing. We made the mistake of going on a Saturday morning. The wait time was long so we placed a to-go order. Even that took over half an hour, while we were just standing outside waiting in the parking lot. Most of the employees were patient and nice and handling the chaos well. But I would not go again on a weekend. And I would not say there was "ambiance." You can try to get a table inside where people are packed back-to-back or you can sit in the parking lot. After waiting a long time for our food, I went back and ordered two plain biscuits. These came out almost immediately. The butter and jams are all available out in the middle of the café. The jams are homemade and flavors rotate. Strategically, if I ever went back here (we're not local so it's unlikely) I would just order plain biscuits and not try to get a table or a fancy breakfast. I'm so grateful to have had my lunch break at biscuit head today. It was my first time coming since I moved here about a year ago from Maui. Almost every weekend I see the long lines wrap around the corner of the building. Now I know why! Food was delicious and service was excellent! There was a long line, but you also have the opportunity to order ahead WHILE in line, and then get notified when your food is ready. However, I didn't find the wait to be that long so we decided to order the old fashioned way. :) We got an egg and cheese biscuit sandwich as well as a full blown biscuit platter with sausage gravy. The best thing about these biscuits is that they had the best of both worlds, both a light and fluffy interior but a nice pleasant crunch on the outside. The cheese was great and sharp on my sandwich (sharp cheddar i'm pretty sure) with a light and fluffy egg. Cannot speak to the sausage gravy, but the SO said it was TO die for, so could also recommend that! we also got grits on the side which were INCREDIBLE!! Our favorite food in Asheville. We went here for breakfast on a weekend and it was of course packed with a line, but it moved efficiently and was worth the wait. There is indoor and outdoor seating. The pulled pork biscuit was heaven. The pimento cheese wasn't too spicy (I don't like spicy) and the sweetness of the syrup balanced it perfectly. The other biscuit we got was a special and it was a vegetarian option and that one was just as good. The sweet potato butter is chef's kiss. The jam bar is delicious and fun. I went here with a crew of 8 on a weekday. The order at the counter system is great for separate checks which a sizable group, however our food didn't come out together. While I was researching and planning my trip to Asheville, I had heard about this whimsical place called Biscuit Head that served incredible breakfasts. When I realized this location was close to the AirBNB where I was staying, and five minutes waking, I made my way there early (at least for me) on Sunday morning. Situated down the street from the Mission Health campus, I walked into the parking lot, shortly after 9am to a line extending out the door and around the property. While this may have deterred me if I was back home in Florida, being that this was my first time in Asheville, and I was a man on the mission... and literally walked there, I waited with patience. 45 minutes later, I was inside and giving my order. While you may argue that is a long wait for breakfast at small eatery, believe me when I say, it was WORTH it. The interior wasn't anything I hadn't seen before for quirky little, Mom & Pop breakfast spots. Consisting of what looked like two retail spaces -- one for the dining area and the other for taking orders, self-pouring soft drinks from the soda station or taking servings of various types of butter and jam from that station, and sitting at the high-stool counter if you wanted to eat there. But it is a cool spot to go get breakfast on the weekend or during the week. The Pulled Pork Biscuit was incredible. They sliced a homemade biscuit, placing on the bottom side a healthy portion of pulled pork, drizzled in maple syrup, with both sides smeared with pimento cheese before covering with the top end. Then, they topped the biscuit sandwich with a gorgeous poached egg and a their house-made bacon. I don't think "magical" does this sandwich justice. It was foodie-heaven for me. That could have been my last meal, and I would have been happy. I should additionally mention the lemon berry bacon and sriracha maple sausage I ordered for sides. Because why not? If you're going to go there, you might as well take the gluttony as far as you can, especially, if you're on vacation. The sriracha maple sausage was phenomenal, while the lemon berry bacon was essentially their bacon with a lemon-berry glaze. If I lived closer, I would be coming back to try more off their menu. Alas, I don't, so I'll have to live with trying to every year I drive up. Worth every penny. read more

The biscuits themselves were both flakey and moist, which is what I look for in a biscuit, and they are HUGE! I loved the pulled pork, and the poached egg was the perfect addition to provide a bit of moisture. The Mimosa Fried Chicken biscuit came with an apple butter that was to die for. I also order the Appalachai and it was the perfect warm drink for a chilly morning. I originally thought this was just a cute name, but I later learned that it is an Asheville local chai brewer! We made a pit stop in Asheville on our ride home. My boyfriend really likes Biscuit Head and was very excited to go today. The place itself is super cute and unique.
