I love this joint. The prices are great and the portions are huge, not to mention De-lic-ious! Double bonus for having real people sized coffee mugs. I was pretty disappointed. We don't go out to eat ever. We've been broke. But the other morning I saw an ad. And just like a basic typical consumer, I got excited and decided to splurge on breakfast. We weee really looking forward to eating a good breakfast without having to cook or wash dishes before our hiking trip. We were seated in the center of all the hustle. I hate that. It was loud and waitresses were rushing passed me brushing against our chairs and table. I couldn't relax. We waited almost an hour for our food to come out, which would have been easier to deal with if we weren't in the middle of everyone watching everyone else get served. When our food finally came, the hollandaise sauce and poached eggs were cold. Our potatoes were warm. But our eggs and sauce were cold. Like having been in the fridge cold. This was the case for both of our orders. When you only go out to eat once a year because it costs so much, it's super disappointing when the atmosphere is uncomfortable, the wait is long and the food is cold. read more

Decided to go out for breakfast with my brother. I always heard high praises from everyone about the food and I had such a good experience 2years ago that I decided to go again. I don't usually have time to go out for breakfast therefore, I was looking foward to coming back this time. But the food was not as good as the last time. We ordered: hot tea, California club with potato salad, and pancakes with eggs and bacon. Pros: the waitress who sat us was really nice and ended up serving other tables, but we got another waitress. The manager gentleman was very nice and attentive, and the young man who rang us up was funny and very friendly. Cons: the waitress we ended up with flat out acted like it was the worst thing to serve us, blonde, older, and gave me the dirtiest looks throughout our meal. I asked for my sandwich without tomatoes and she acted like I was a leper the way she said "right". She never checked on our meal. My boyfriend's eggs which he ordered over medium had egg whites that were flat out raw. Had to wait to flag down a manager at another table to order new eggs. He said he would send over out server. The waitress never showed up, the manager came back with new eggs done correctly, and apologized. Waitress never said anything about it and gave me massive attitude the second and last time she came to the table, handed my boyfriend the bill, which I took from him, then i tried to hand her my card with it which was apparently offensive to her. The tone she used saying "you pay inside" was downright unprofessional. Both of us have worked in food service, we are always nice I just don't get why she was taking out her bad mood on us. Also, my club sandwich (which I subed for white bread because I don't like ciabatta?) came with grilled buttered toast for bread. Which was greasy and gross. The potato salad tastes like it comes from grocery outlet, but my bf loved his pancakes, and both of our bacon was cooked well. I can forgive 1 bad waitress but buttering the outside of my bread on a club is a flat out nope. Especially with Sunny's down the street, which has the best breakfast fare. First of all it was WAY too expensive, the coffee was nasty, and the eggs were over cooked. The buttermilk pancakes were ok. The bacon was extremely greasy. Not impressed if you go to Pine State Biscuits you can get way better food, more food, better coffee for less. I came a couple months ago and food was not as terrible. Would not recommend. Oregon City is lacking in good food options to say the least. Luckily Biscuits has become our go to breakfast place. Waitresses are always friendly. Food is consistently good. My fav is the Turkey and Veggie Scramble. It is Egg Whites with Turkey and Veggies. I feel like I can have an indulgent breakfast with the fam but I am also not loading up on heavy calories for the day. Also, their rewards program is awesome! My family and I have been coming to this Biscuits Cafe for several years. The service has always been attentive and friendly, and the food is very tasty...and plentiful...If you leave Biscuits hungry, it is your own fault. This is our favorite breakfast spot by far. Second visit here, and second poor meal. Will not "dine" here again. Arrived ar about 1:30 pm on a Monday and staff was not busy. Both my friend and I each ordered a bowl of chili and when it arrived slowly, it was cold. We asked the waitress to warm them it in the micro. The food is nice for suburb-of-Portland-fare. That's not actually what has made me give it such a low review. (Although if it was in center of Portland it would be considered meh diner food -- for a suburb of Portland it's probably the best you could hope for in terms of taste.) However, the reason that I will never visit it again is because of a SEVERE LACK of ENVIRONMENTAL AWARENESS. For instance, rather than have cream for coffee they serve those little tiny plastic creams cus that can not be recycled. When I ordered a cold brew it came in a to-go plastic cup even though I was dining in because it was pre-made. They handed out straws, and the to-go containers were varying shapes, sizes, and colors of STYROFOAM!!! Understandably humans have just not known any better and that's how we got the planet into this mess. But when you know better, you do better; and it's hard for me to imagine that a diner in such close proximity of Portland is not influenced by the awareness that is that city which leads me to believe that these choice may be made out of greed, or a lack of care. :( read more

We were in the Portland area for the weekend and had a Sunday breakfast at this Biscuits Cafe. Although they were quite busy, we were seated with less than a 5-minute wait. The wait staff was very attentive and after reviewing a good-sized menu that contains quitte a few tempting options, including sweet potato pancakes and cinnamon roll french toast. We weren't that hungry so just ordered eggs, hash browns (my daughter ordered red potato home fries), chicken apple sausage and biscuits, of course. The hash browns were perfectly crispy, the sausages were juicy but not greasy and the 2 biscuits that come with an order were hot, fluffy and excellent! They are accompanied by little ramekins of whipped butter and strawberry jam. This was a great breakfast and we will definitely visit again when in the Portland area. read more

I'm really not a fan of the chain but it was late and I really wanted breakfast and our normal place closed at 2pm. So we go there. I get the Southern Delight with red potatoes. The potatoes were warm and squishy there was noyhing crispy about them. The eggs were extremely over cooked and crispy and everything was just bland. I tryed to tell our server but I never seen her again until she dropped off our check as she walked by. When I went to pay for it the girl at the cash register she asked me how the food was she just looked at me and took my card and asked if I told the server about my food. I told her I never got the chance I never seen her after she droped off our food. This is the second location I have been to and the food and service are awful no matter where you go. Came here for the first time today, after passing by it a thousands times since I live nearby. The food was pretty good, though their pancakes weren't as fluffy as I like. The brisket Benedict was deeeeelicious though. Toast a little burnt, but that's okay... Makes it extra crispy. The service was a little awkward though... Just had breakfast from one of the most impersonal waitress I've ever encountered. So I wasn't surprised when my food arrives my order was 50% of what I ordered. Asked for crispy hash browns and they came out slightly warm. Yuck. Wrong jam and $2.59 for a cup of coffee I would expect to more then 1 refill. Food was bland and the scrambled eggs were in my opinion not cooked all the way. Usually have good experiences but the one off of Johnson Creek will never see my business again. read more

I really like Biscuits for breakfast. I find it appealing because the food is fantastic (very large portions too), it's affordable and although it is popular it hasn't reached the level of hype that so many Portland breakfast spots have obtained, keeping wait time for a table to a minimum... We went on a Sunday (right after church, prime breakfast time) and the wait was only 15 minutes. I ordered the Biscuits and gravy, very good and my friend ordered the Greek omelette, both were delicious. In the past I have ordered some of their specialty and seasonal pancake selections and those too were very good. If ever on their rotating menu I highly recommend their Macadamia nut pancakes. All in all, this is a sweet little spot, especially for us Eastsiders not thrilled to travel into downtown for eggs. Check it out. read more

I met my grandmother here for lunch. She had been a regular for a while while working in this area a few years ago. It was a busy Sunday so I understood the delay in service to our table to take drink orders. I mean, we had the manager, CINDY, wait our table. After telling us to "hold on" several times to take our order, she finally did so in a very polite manner. She brought our drinks promptly as well. The food was good. My grandmother loved her mixed berry waffles and sausage combo and I had the country benedict. One problem: I found a hair (obviously was not mine-different color and length) intertwined with my sausage and gravy. I politely told Cindy (quietly I might add, as there were other tables around and I didn't want to ruin THEIR experience) that I found the hair. My grandmother (being 77) was picking through her food making sure she didn't have one as well. When Cindy looked at my grandmother, she said, and I QUOTE "so now you both are magically finding hairs in your food?" RUDE. 100% UNACCEPTABLE FOR A MANAGER. We are customers in your restaurant. A restaurant you are supposed to be managing and leading by example. She said "fine" and took my plate away without another word. No sorry, no I will speak with the kitchen, no nothing. She came by to replace the check she had left previously to show my plate taken off. I appreciate the compesation, but I would have paid for the plate if it meant better customer service from her. I work in customer service for a living. THIS IS NOT HOW YOU TREAT PEOPLE. I hope you see this Cindy. I hope today was just stressful and busy and I hope today gets better for you. I hope that you see this and next time a situation arises with another customer similar to mine, you will handle their concerns with compassion and sincerity. This was my first experience here. I love breakfast, and with all the traveling that I've been doing lately I've been hunting down good breakfast places in the Portland Oregon area. This is a chain restaurant, so it's basically a classy version of Denny's. It seems expensive, but it's about right for what you get, the portions are decent, so I feel as though you get what you pay for. Other reviewers state that the jam is the best, and it is pretty good. I received great customer service, however, I'm amazed at how the last person that you have interaction with can leave a bad taste in your mouth: As I went to pay a nice younger gentleman was ringing me out, when another women approached the counter with a to-go order for the person behind me, and blurted out in a very unprofessional manner, "would you like silverware DUDE". The cashier turned to her and said in a very nice way, "Don't call our customers DUDE", to which she looked like she was about to take his head off for saying so. I wanted to high five my cashier for acknowledging that that's not a way to talk to a customer. - I didn't get the vibe that she was very happy to be there, and I couldn't really blame her, because that leads into my second complaint. It was almost 90 degrees outside, and this place was even hotter inside, there was no circulation, the air was stale, it felt miserable inside, it's sad when going outside makes you more comfortable on a 90 degree day. read more

Possibly, it was the odd strip mall location that kept me away...not very cool, not very trendy but they absolutely serve up a tasty meal! We sat 40 minutes watched tables arrive after us and get food before us, and when we inquired from our waitress she got snotty and scolded us. She said if we had places to go we shouldn't have come, threw my plate in front of me. So my boyfriend and I are pretty good regulars to Biscuits Cafe so we were excited when the one down the road from us in Happy Valley was being built. We just ate here for the first time since it opened last week and we were thoroughly disappointed. Our waitress did not give us that great of customer service at all (I am also in the customer service industry). She barely came to check on us at all. My boyfriend had to get up and go refill his own coffee because she did not check on us. Our food was lukewarm like it had been sitting for awhile before delivered to us. Our eggs Benedict was not even poached! Was like hard boiled eggs on top! And once food was delivered, once again, she never came to ask how everything was. Great food and service as usual. The noise level is intense at times. For some inexplicably reason they play music which all you can hear is the thumping bass. This causes everyone else to talk louder. The sound of happy customers is enough. Turn off the stereo. read more
