I stumbled upon Dr. Pollick during one of his flare ups and finally found the place for us. She reviewed his records and cared enough to squeeze him into her busy schedule the next day because he was in pain. She spent hours on the phone with me talking and helped me with the next steps. She picked up the phone and got him into another specialist who would have otherwise taken months to see. When I picked him up, the staff was very professional, came to the car with written instructions and explained everything to me in detail. They earned my business for sure and stand out in the industry because they were the first and only practice that fit a suffering animal into their schedule rather than simply saying he would have to wait months in agony.

My friend also takes her cats to VCA. She had an ill cat I brought to the ER. They took him in immediately & tried to treat him. They were honest with her & instead of taking her money & giving her false hope​, they were could not save him. She also has a 21 year old cat that they take special care of him. Dr. Zapata is truly amazing--so gentle, kind, and clearly a cat lover. She made Leo feel comfortable right away, and you can tell she genuinely cares about her patients. Leo absolutely loved her, which says everything! The vet tech, Kayla, was also wonderful--very knowledgeable, patient, and kind throughout the entire visit. She really knew what she was doing and made us feel at ease. Overall, such a great experience. We felt so well taken care of, and it means a lot to find a team you can trust with your pet. I was able to snag an appointment after a cancellation and the woman I was speaking with was so kind. I was able to bring Dexter in, brought all his papers to get him checked out. Everyone was nice to work with, although I do have some critiques. I'm only 25 years old, and I'm not used to taking My pet to the vet and seeing how much the cost is. So when I asked the veterinary technician if they can be as transparent with me as possible I was told that it wouldn't be a problem. I was also able to receive a free vet exam for being a first-time customer. Everyone I spoke with reassured me many times that it was going to be free and I would not have to pay the $89. After Dexter was examined, the only way to conclude what was really wrong with him is if we either did blood work or x-rays. They did give me an estimate and they brought in a sheet of paper with an itemized bill showing me what the cost would be. So my mom and I decided to only do blood work to really make sure he didn't have an infection or anything wrong. She again assured me that the exam was going to be free so our total bill was going to be around $500. I actually came in knowing my budget and $500 was what I expected, so we did the blood work without hesitation. He came back all clean and we were relieved. They prescribed us medications and filled it for us at their in-house Pharmacy and then we were on our way. Then it was time to pay the bill. The only thing they did, which bothered me was they yelled the amount to the entire room and said that it was going to be $569. Immediately, I explained that I would have preferred to have an itemized bill before I've paid with my credit card. She printed one out and handed it to me and immediately I saw that I was being charged for the $89 exam fee. This upset me quite a bit and I explained that she and everyone else in the office told me that we had a free exam. She acted like she didn't know and said "Let me check again with the doctor, and I'll see what I can do." Right away they removed the exam fee and my total went all the way down to $480. This was more my price range and I had no problem paying the bill. I just wanted to bring that up to everyone's attention. Do not forget to ask for an itemized bill before just handing people your credit card. Other than that they are great vet and they are all very kind.

He said they didn't have the notes of his previous script. Fine, so I showed him the picture of the bottle that said "Tucker (dog)". And I showed him the automated visit notes that you get emailed to a visit showing that he's on trazodone. Makes sense, right? But not for Rashad. He said by showing him this proof that my dog was in these medicines I was being extremely condescending? What am I supposed to do, accept the fact that they didn't have it? He then said we need a doctor visit with the dog. I said why? It's not like dementia gets better. He replies "sir, I'm a certified medical professional" or something? Okay? Just because he woke up in the wrong side of the bed this morning doesn't have to make it any more stressful for someone dealing with a dementia dog. I waited an hour and never complained once. Marla (I think) was extremely nice at the receptionist and so was the doctor. This guy is one of those people that seems to take everything personal I guess. All I did was show the pill bottles and the visit summary!

I have been a VCA client for six years, and every visit has been a struggle because my dog is…read moregenuinely afraid to go inside. It takes a lot of effort just to get him through the door. Unfortunately, my most recent experience was the most disappointing of all. My dog was seen by Dr. Amaya, a doctor I had never met in all my years coming to this location. While checking my dog, he immediately began pointing out supposed issues with my dog's fur and even suggested his face looked "bitten." In six years, no other doctor at VCA has ever mentioned anything like this. This clinic repeatedly contacted me to come in for annual check and shots, so we went -- only for the doctor to immediately recommend a hormone test, claiming there was something wrong with his skin and coat. The sudden shift in tone and the push for additional testing felt untrustworthy and unsettling. After this experience, I no longer feel confident bringing my dog here. I do not trust this clinic with his care, and I cannot recommend VCA Stirling Conner.

Living in Miami-Dade, I've found that many specialist vet clinics are extremely expensive here, but this hospital is refreshingly fair with pricing. More importantly, I genuinely feel their priority is my pets' well-being, not just maximizing costs. My most recent visit was with Dr. Rabacca Kikulian, and she was exceptional. From the moment she interacted with my cat, her gentle, calm approach immediately put both of us at ease. She took the time to comfort him, holding him on her lap and making sure he was relaxed before beginning the exam... something I've never experienced with another vet.
