Great Theater
Darla A.

Sweet retro Theatre. Updated interior while reminding you of the classic vibe. Comfortable seating, nice picture and sound. Snack bar with your favorites including alcoholic selections. We would return next time in town

Omg it was great haven't been to Bishop movies since 80's my husband and I were in Lone Pine Ca for the town reunion and decide to go see Jurassic World. They new movie seat it was really nice. Bathroom clean and popcorn and drink was great.

I'm actually surprised by the size of this theatre. It's pretty big and can handle large groups. There's usually two movies showing... and both usually start at the same time. There are seats in the balcony as well as on the first floor for both theatres. The seats are old. And they seemed a little dirty. The arm rests do not go up. But, the seats weren't uncomfortable. If you're tall though, there's not too much leg room. There was a small patch of dirt on center/top of the screen for the movie we were watching. It's not too noticeable... but it's there. (I'd see it sometimes during the movie.) Since it's not too crowded, you're able to get good seats if you show up half an hour before the movie starts. Actually they don't even sell tickets until half an hour before the movie starts. It's a good theatre.

Look at those stains!! Every other chair is leaned forward because they are in bad repair.

Price: $8 for adult. Food and drink: $7.50 for small popcorn, large drink and milk duds. Chairs are horrid, most lean way forward. They are broken. As a tip don't turn on a light you will be disgusted. Did I mention I can hear every climatic event in the movie next door to us? Unacceptable. This is why I have only been here twice in the 4 years I have lived here. I normally drive 2.5 hours to Ridgecrest to watch a movie.

I love this place. Management is great and it is reasonably priced. We don't have raked seating and we don't have IMAX but what we have is friendly service and great movies at a great price.

New comfortable chairs! Not recliners, but they do lean back! LOVE!!!

We seriously have the cutest theater in California. The old school charm & balcony is my favorite. The biggest plus is the newly renovated inside!! The new chairs are so comfortable & lean back. The prices haven't changed either! Our family loves this theater & we are so happy the new owners take such great pride in it. You cannot beat $5 matinee for the whole family! Thank you!

Super nice movie theater and cheap food and tickets! It was $15 for 3 to see flash and $15 for drinks, popcorn and candy.

Our showing was at 4:45pm we arrived about 15mins before just incase there was a long line at the concession. When we entered we went straight to the self serve kiosk, although someone was the front he was helping others. They do have a full bar. The line went fairly quick. Our order: 4 kids box: popcorn, drinks and a snack, small popcorn with 2 waters. It was the day before Toy Story 5 premiere and was a bit disappointed to not see a lot of the souvenirs displayed. Even the kids popcorn box wasn't Toy Story themed. Not sure if they sold out already or they were saving it for Friday. The popcorn was fresh and delicious, they also add butter to the top as requested. The seats here are reclined and so comfortable, the temp was just right, not hot or freezing cold. We went to the standard showing. The restrooms clean, I was so happy and surprised to see sanitary barrier cloths on the diaper changing tables. Overall, it was a great experience!

They're "did this render on a calculator." It's giving PS1. It's giving early Tomb Raider triangles. Pointy mountains. Flat water. Characters moving like they're buffering. I kept waiting for it to level up and it never did. It felt less like immersive VR and more like I paid to watch someone's unfinished game demo in a headset. And that's what makes it frustrating. The seats and the setup scream "this is about to be Soarin'." Like Disney California Adventure. Wind. Depth. Realism. That feeling where your stomach drops and you forget you're in a room. Instead I got "high tech seats" attached to low-tech visuals. Like putting a spoiler on a Prius and calling it a race car. The experience is clunky too. The motion doesn't match the visuals well enough to sell the illusion. So you're not transported. You're just... aware. Aware of the headset. Aware of the chair. Aware you spent real money to time travel backwards in graphics history. This should be breathtaking. It's barely "interesting." It's the kind of VR where you start roasting it mid-ride. Quietly. To yourself. Like, "oh wow, look at that polygon. She's thriving." If there was a "skip cutscene" button, I would've pressed it with my soul. Now here's the twist. The staff is the best part of the entire place. Super helpful. Genuinely kind. Patient. They felt bad that the VR wasn't hitting and you could tell they were trying to make it right with hospitality alone. That's rare. They're the reason I'm not giving this place a full villain edit. Restrooms were decently cleaned. Not sparkling, but respectable. Minus a couple moments that made me wash my hands like I was prepping for surgery. Bottom line. Come with zero expectations for the VR. Like subterranean expectations. If they ever upgrade the content, this could be amazing. Right now it's a tech tease with bargain-bin visuals. Staff deserves a raise for carrying the whole thing on their backs. It's giving... Avatar prices with Minecraft graphics. It's giving... Soarin' from Temu.

I haven't been to the theaters in years and we went to take my daughter to Toy Story 5-great film, go see it- and we pre purchased our tickets, and I didn't know what to do when we got there. No ticket taker, but there was a lady on the phone at customer service, so we stopped and waited. She was giving lots of info on the phone but hardly acknowledged us. Finally she said "I'll be right with you." Then when she was off and I told her we just need to scan the code, she was like, "ohh!! Of course!!" Then said that we could have used the kiosks way on the other side behind the ticket purchase are. There's just no clear path for check in options and if they are going to pay someone to stand there, put up a sign please! The concession stand was stocked and no line. $38 for a large popcorn and 2 large sodas. Damn. But that's life right? Popcorn was fresh, free extra plates and cups, free butter and jalapeños. And soda was the large pick your flavor Coke machines. Our day tickets were $10, plus a $2 fee per ticket. *rolls eyes* but could I have purchased them at the theater without a convenience fee, I'm still not sure. They have lots of bathrooms. Staff is willing to help you find your seats and move others if they are not abiding to the seat rules (you pay for a seat and sit where you paid), when you can find staff. The seats are weird and were a bit hard for my 3 year old to sit in. But the cup holders in between go up, so I was able to put that up and hold my leg against her chair to keep it from folding up on her. I'm griping more about how much theaters have changed than Maya itself. All the staff we interacted with were nice enough and the place was clean, restrooms stocked. Bonus it's close to home. We will be back for Moana 2. :)

We checked online and saw that there were many seats available, so we decided to buy our tickets at the theater. Love that there is a senior discount and even a senior discount day. You get one free popcorn refill with the price. That works just fine. Cup holders available and comfortable seating. We enjoy coming here to watch movies and then going to Mad Duck after to eat.
