Stopped in for lunch after craving shawarma. The food is delicious and authentic. Inside are sights and sounds of Palestine that felt warming to the soul. The menu is packed with must try dishes. I had the chicken Shawarma wrap. Everything was hot, fresh and full of flavor. The sauces are the icing on the cake, so good! The selection of toppings is extensive. There is something for every palate!

They serve healthy and flavorful wraps. I ordered mine for delivery. The time in transit likely affected the texture but overall it was a pretty good lunch. I will say the pomegranate sauce may be better for dark meats or with a cream sauce. I got it for my chicken breast wrap. Otherwise ingredients were fresh and well cooked.

Being cheap on meat , cheese , and no type of toppings at all.

Dude , don't believe anything on the internet. today i found out it's all bs. Shawarma bread burnt , the tablet they have don't even have the same options as the one the customers use. they was being hella cheap, there was like literally maybe 2 pc of meat on there. I lifted 1 nacho and all this hardened cheese was stuck to it. Under that was basically straight chips no type of anything on it. I got none of the toppings i ordered in my sandwich, no diced tomatoes, like 3 pcs of fries in the whole thing and the meat was hard. Basically threw 42$ in the trash very disappointing. -------------- Edited ------------------- My stomach hurts.

Stopped in here on a Friday early evening for dinner. You order at the counter and then they call you when your order is ready. I thought the prices were very good for the portions you got. I enjoyed a hummus bowl that had veggies in it and falafel. I got a meal so i picked a salad and a bottle of water to go with it. There was so much food! My boyfriend liked his dinner as well! The restaurant looked fairly new. Nicely decorated and clean. I will be back for another hummus bowl!

Stopped in here twice for recent lunches. On-street parking was easily found right up front. The staff was much livelier on my second visit. First time it didn't seem like anyone wanted to be bothered. Second time, I had smiles and at least a thank you! The inside was not crowded, but there were people coming in for take out and a few other diners besides myself. The table situation is spread out pretty good and there is Arabic music playing softly in the dining area. I'd call ahead if you're in a rush. The wait was about ten minutes on both trips. I went with Shawarma both times, the first was chicken second was a mix of lamb and beef. It is a big portion so I went sans fries on the second trip. The Saj bread was huge, but thin and fresh and it kept the wraps together extremely well. The meat was finely cut up and lightly seasoned. Both wraps included cucumber, tomato, tahini/garlic sauce and a side of shatta hot sauce (think red chili sauce). I thought both wraps were good, but a tad too heavy on the tahini sauce. Nothing bad, nothing great. Might have to go Kabab over rice and have some hummus on a future visit and report back. Prices were decent overall.

Food was delicious! Fries were very crispy and the wraps were properly seasoned. We really enjoyed what we ordered & would definitely go back! After satisfying your salty craving, you can head over next door to Le Souk for a sweet treat. My only qualm with the place is that I had to wait quite a while for this order, despite the restaurant being empty. Will be returning!

I'm not that well versed in Middle Eastern cuisine but I have had The Halal Guys before so I kind of had an idea of what I would be getting at Bisho's. My co worker happens to love Chicken Shawarma so she ordered this from Bisho's and shared some with me. It was very good and the portion was huge. I placed an order of my own a few days later. I went with the Beef/Lamb Rice Bowl and got the recommended toppings except onions. These toppings included tomato, cucumber, lettuce and some kind of pickled vegetable I could not identify. All of this was topped with a Tahini sauce and I think it was this sauce that ruined the dish for me. I should have done some homework or asked for the sauce on the side. I guess I thought because it was white it would be akin to the Halal Guys famous white sauce but it was not that at all. It tasted sour to me and unappealing. Because they give a generous portion I shared the rest with my mom. I also don't think I like lamb and beef mixed together either. I would definitely try them again but I would stick with the chicken and whatever sauce comes with that. I also got the babagnooj and understood that it was eggplant which I like baked in the oven so I thought this would not be bad. It wasn't bad but I was not prepared for the amount of garlic. So much so that I could not eat any more of it for my lunch because I feared having to speak to customers with that on my breath. This was the type of garlic saturation that gets in your pores.

Chicken Shawarma, over rice with falafel, baba ghanoush, and a side of tahini

Bishos continues to provide excellent food at a reasonable cost. I've tried all the vegetarian dishes, and they're all great! The hummus is rich, and creamy . The baba ghanoush is redolent with garlic and olive oil, as opposed to be heavily laden with tahini. The foul is very flavorful and packed with protein. The cheese, Za'atar bread is kind of like a Middle Eastern quesadilla containing cheese, and za'atar seasoning on their delicious saj bread. I prefer the chicken kebab to the chicken Shawarma. The kebab is well seasoned and the grilling gives it extra flavor. All their entrées are available as a wrap, over rice, as a hoagie, or on a salad. You get to choose six additional toppings. I love the toum(garlic sauce) & amba(sweet curry sauce) and then add four more vegetables. My only issue with that is they don't really give you enough toppings. The falafel is very well seasoned but a little dry. Strangely, it's not available in a pita, but you can get it as a wrap or anything else mentioned above. The food is always impeccably fresh & is halal. Customer service(especially the dark haired girl with the glasses) is outstanding! If you order direct from their website you will receive either five dollar off or 10% off coupons pretty frequently. I usually get it to go, but there is seating available inside. Be sure to check out their Le Souk market for desserts and all types of Middle Eastern spices grains, snacks, etc. review of that to follow.

I got the zero spice level (they offer 0-5) and it was delicious. There was enough food for me to have leftovers. The noodles were nice and soft! Mango Sticky Rice - This was pretty and tasty. My only challenge with this dish was trying to cut the strips of mango with a spoon while trying not to spill anything out of the bowl. I would definitely go here again!

The duck was small and a bit dry and not very flavorful. The curry was runny and thin so it slid off of the veggies and duck. The pad Thai was honestly quite small and tasted like any pad thai you could order at any random restaurant and it was also just vaguely dry. My biggest grievances with this place was the ambiance. I feel like they wanted to fit as many tables as they physically could in that building and boy did they. The tables are so close together and so tiny. We had and I'm not exaggerating under 3 inches between us and the table next to us and we were on the wall with booths on one half. The poor women go got seated next to us had to move her table on top of the table on her other side and squeeze between ours and hers just to get into the booth. And even then it was tight so her butt ended up on our table and I felt bad because she looked so embarrassed and apologized but there was nothing she could do. The silverware is ridiculously long for the small table they give you. We did not have room to comfortably fit 2 entrees on the table with our drinks and our forks and our silverware and our small plates. We also had a reservation, and our table wasn't ready and there was no waiting area. They didn't have an estimate of when it would be ready so they sent us out. We walked around for 15-20 minutes before they were able to seat us. They also had music playing not quietly and because of the proximity of all of the tables everyone was kind of talking loud to be able to hear each other. It felt more like a bar than a sit down restaurant. There are so many Thai places just within a block of grandmas I could not understand why someone would choose to wait there rather than go to Chatayee or Dara. I think this place is catered to look cool on Instagram and if that's your goal then you'll be quite happy.

**GOAT ITEM** FATTEH **Michelin Star Restaurant**…read more I love venturing out of our comfort zone and trying restaurant sub-types that I don't have where I live, such as Lebanese. Suraya is located in Fishtown a bit outside the city, but the Uber here was totally worth it. This restaurant is PHENEMONAL! We decided to go with the "A taste of Suraya" for $78 a person. Of course, we started with the Hummous, Baba Ganoush, Muhammara, Labneh, & Taboule which are basically 5 separate hummus that are served as an appetizer. 3 of the hummus I really liked: Hummous - chickpeas seasoned with tehina, lemon & garlic Baba Ganoush - charred eggplant seasoned with tehina, lemon, garlic & urfa biber Muhammara - roasted red pepper and walnut dip * seasoned with chili, cumin & pomegranate 1 Hummus was ok: Labneh - strained yogurt finished with za'atar, tomatoes, cucumber, olives & mint 1 Hummus I wouldn't eat again: Taboule - parsley salad with cucumber, tomato, scallion & mint * seasoned with lemon The absolute star of the night was the Fatteh. The Fatteh is: warm chickpeas, eggplant, crispy pita & tehina yogurt * almonds, cashews & brown butter. An absolute GOAT (Greatest of All Time) food item you can get anywhere. I could eat this thing all day every day. I've never had anything like it anywhere else. As my hot food item, I chose Makanek which were little lamb sausages. I thought they were fine, not out of this world good, but solid. To drink, I had a $16 Throne of Beauty which is: mezcal, ancho reyes, contratto bitter, pineapple, sesame orgeat & grapefruit Unfortunately I couldn't taste any mezcal in the drink so it was basically a fruity drink and not very good. I also had a $17 Obscured Hallows (Old Fashioned): elijah craig bourbon, rittenhouse rye, sherry, brown butter, semolina & date It was much better and exactly on point. For the entree, I had Kawarma: slow roasted lamb * baharat, dill yogurt, cucumber & pomegranate salad The server recommended this as his favorite item on the menu and it did not disappoint. I thought it was absolutely perfect. I made a reservation online. This restaurant is absolutely worth the uber trip outside the city. The food is top notch as was the service. Looks like a cute little area with a lot more bars and restaurants all up and down the street. Highly recommend! Get out of your comfort zone and try some Lebanese food, if you haven't had any!

The Mujadara was the biggest disappointment of all, at $26 as an entree it was absolutly the size of an appetizer and again with hardly any artichoke. They've fallen into the the trap of many restaurants in the post covid era. Either taste good and a rip off, or right sized in price and just average in execution. They are the former. I've lost hope.
