They did a great job on the roof and solar. I'm a carpenter and I watched the whole process they did a great job!

They do not return calls. they ignore warranty work. They did my roof and solar 7 years ago and both are under warranty. I have a leak to which I called 7 times and now my inverter is out to which I've left two messages. My next call is to their atty of record on their Annual report. Stay away from this company their customer service is invisible. read more

Had roof and solar installed in 2023. Personally dealt with Mike Bison, Andre (don't know the last name), Eli Hernandez, and JR Bogard. Bison is now out of business. My solar doesn't produce enough to eliminate my electric bill in the summer. My house looks nothing like the pictures shown during the demonstration, which will significantly and negatively affect its resale value. Finally, and most importantly, the company is out of business, so the 25-year guarantee on my roof is worthless. read more

The absolute worst experience in my life. Do not hire them, they have no intention of actually doing the work. We are stuck in bureaucy trying to get our City of Tamarac to allow us to change contractors. We signed a contract with them in August. Stay clear of this so-called roofing company. read more

Do not hire Bison roofing and Solar! There is not one positive thing to say about this company. They are unprofessional and disorganized. They have no job site management. No one is supervising nor checking the quality of the work. They take short cuts and do poor quality, sub par work. Examples and photos include but are not limited to... The Project manager comes to the job with limited knowledge of the scope of work. When the tear down began, I requested that ALL rotten wood be replaced. It was not. The roof was dried in when it should not have been. Because I caught them not replacing the wood, I was told that the wood would be replaced after the inspection. That's really unacceptable because: 1. The integrity of the installation has been compromised, & 2. Technically, I have a roof that was not inspected. 3. I don't have confidence that all rotten wood has been replaced. See photo. 4. I don't have confidence that the boards (new nor old) are properly nailed to the joists. See photo. 5. Project was constantly delayed because they never had materials or machines ready on time. 6. The metal roof is completely different looking from the installation on day 1 and day 2. See photo. On the Solar side... They were unable to secure permits for over 6 months. They required me to do electrical service panel changes and upgrades, something they should have known prior to contracting, And then I find out that their electrician did not do the job properly. No job site supervision. If this were my business I would be devastated. Customer Service is non existent. It's the royal screw you. If they are not completely ignoring the customers calls and emails they are rude and abusive. They have had a $30,000 deposit since August and they cannot commit to an installation date nor have they returned my deposit. Is this theft? read more

After several years of service, I would no longer recommend this company. Practices are shady and they tell you whatever you want to hear to close work and keep installation moving forward. After 4.5 years they would not honor their "Labor and quality work" for my solar installation. They did repair 2 leaks over the warranty period. However, after reporting a faulty ground found by another company installing Solar batteries the company voided my workmanship and installation warranty since the solar had been "modified". It was not worth getting a lawyer, but I would take one if anyone is interested. Here are some of my historical notes: "We will only fix the work if you pay {while under warranty}, sign a non disclosure, promise to not do a negative review and remove your complaint from the BBB. "your barrel roof has a metal sub-roof, don't worry about the holes we are putting into your barrel roof" "We can put on flashing, but it is custom ordered so it will take some time to get it in stock" this there was flat galvanized flashing bent to fit for installation, lose in some places so with the SoFlo wind pieces came lose within a few months. "Our Roofer say the leak is coming from your stack, not the solar", Bison would not review where the actual damage was before determining who was liable for the repair work .... after paying for another company to fix the problem they verified they did not have to touch the stack and it was at the solar foot. Bottom line this company doesn't care. They only need your business once since you will either move, die or sell. Other roofers laughed at my install saying that they should have sealed the holes in the barrel roof, even if it wasn't code it is the right thing to do. I still believe in solar, just not Bison. read more

New Roof was put in late 2022. Multiple leaks since then causing interior damage as well. 3.5M house. They have been responsive via phone, but leaks have taken up to 2 months to get repaired. The last repair was going to be done with a guy that appeared like he was on drugs. Owner made a joke about it. Gerardo's crew fixed, they seem competent. Gerardo admitted the whole roof needed to be done. They simply don't want to do it. We're filing a lawsuit against them ASAP in Broward County. read more

Roof replacement, flat tile to flat tile. Very happy with the sales process and support communication. I needed to delay the project into 2025 and Bison was completely accommodating and clear in communications. The roof removal and install went very well and the Project Manager was very responsive. The crew protected the property well and were as neat as a roofing project can be. There was no damage to any landscaping. The new roof works great and looks even better. I would hire Bison again and am very happy with the entire process and value. read more

Bison Roofing has new owners who don't stand behind their product. Under the previous owners, Bison installed my metal roof and solar panels. I was so impressed with the company that I shared my experience with friends and colleagues. A few of them inquired/purchased Bison's products based on my recommendation. Recently, I had an issue with some of my solar panels. So, I contacted them via email. A couple of days later, I received a call stating that they received my email and was determining how to respond. I then contacted my previous sales person, who I found out was no longer employed there. Days later, Bison contacted me to say that they would not repair my panels and gave me a vague reason. Knowing that the company was under new management that was more interested in increasing revenue, than retaining the loyalty of previous customers, I decided not to pursue the matter. Incidentally, the issue I had with the solar panels was fixed by replacing four optimizers. Under the previous management, I felt that Bison was focused on quality customer service. Under the new owners, I don't believe that is the case. read more

We had a ruff start with Bison due to a salesperson who was way too aggressive for our liking. But Bison had done the roof of neighbors across the street and had done a nice job. We were also looking at adding solar in the near future. We decided to call the management and voice our concerns. From the first call with Dawn, and then to Mike who took over our account, the processes went fairly smoothly and without major incident. Mike was by our side, even when some major hiccups occurred. In the end we got a new roof which looks beautiful and is secure. Our home owners insurance went down by two thirds, an extra bonus. Mike even texted me the other day to make sure we where happy with the job. Had we not called to complain this review would have been very different. Moral of the story, if something is wrong speak up. Bison will be installing our solar panels in the near future. read more

I was in the market to purchase a new roof for my mom's house. I chose Bison, mostly because of their reputation, as their price was higher than others, I figured pay more for quality and peace of mind. However, we were duped. Comparing to the other reviews here, we must have just been unlucky with the staff we got. It started with many lies and miscommunications from their salesperson, Michael Ricci. After the delays, we still moved forward but requested not to have to deal with Michael anymore as he just says what sounds good, but not what is true. First let me start off by saying that this is an old house, and we are aware that unexpected situations may occur that lead to more expenses, especially once the tear off of the old roof begins as that's the only way to find out. For example, begin tear off to find rotted wood that needs to be replaced. Totally understandable and we were prepared for that. There's the main roof (sloped) and 2 add-ons, the laundry room and garage, both with flat roofs. Both the garage and laundry room had leaks, the main roof had no leaks, but was old, so figured it would be best to just go with a completely brand new roof instead of repairing the leaking areas. Before the job began, Bison sent Clay Thomas to do an inspection. At least 2 other staff from Bison had also been to the house. No issues. Ready to start, so they said. As soon as they begin tearing off the garage roof, one of the staff walked inside and notice the beams across the ceiling and how they connect to the wall and said the structure is dangerous and they must stop the work. The area in question is very visible, nothing hiding it. So there's NO EXCUSE that this didn't come up during the inspection. They refused to continue working on the garage roof, telling us we need a general contractor and left left the garage roof now more damaged and leaking in more places than before. Absolute negligence on their part. Why? Because they knew this would delay, postpone, or cancel the job. The proceeded with doing the rest of the house. The sloped roof seems fine so far. However the new roof on the laundry room is now leaking worse than it was before. Water got in to the ceiling light and burnt out the electrical line, not just the light. They said they would send an electrician and never did. And they are not honoring the warranty. A brand new roof shouldn't be having leaks the same week the job was "completed." Now, my mom and grandmother are without light in the laundry room since October. I'm very limited on how much I can help as I'm living in Australia. After the back and forth about the garage, they seemed to have just did a rush job on the rest of the house. They left a mess. They broke the gate on the side of the house, along with part of our pavers and concrete dividers in the front yard when they pulled their truck up to the house over the yard instead of using the driveway. These just a few of the minor issues. The main issues are the negligent inspection which lead to an even more damaged garage roof and a new roof on the laundry room that has been leaking since day one. They have horrible communication, even the owner Elie clearly does not care as I've emailed him several times just for him to ignore us. Completely unprofessional. Instead of replying and trying working things out to try to come to a mutually acceptable resolution, they had a lawyer contact us. Our lawyer responded, and guess what. Their lawyer ignored us too, just like Elie. Seems to be the common theme around there. They have no accountability and take no responsibility in their actions, and have no interest in making things right or honoring the warranty. I had no intentions of not paying them. I tried to do something nice for my mother and it has been an absolute nightmare. There were many more issues. I will be posting online more details along w/ pictures soon. If you hire Bison, make sure to avoid Michael Ricci & Clay Thomas. You might have a better experience. But, expect delays and to be ignored once they deem the job as finished. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. Because that's what they gave me. Zero of anything! First I would like to say that the rep that came out was extremely nice and none of this is a representation of him. I got a quote. I then saw a commerical ad for $1000 off and it said call by Tuesday. This was on a Wednesday. I called, they said they would honor it but I had to let them know by Friday. Now why by Friday? Ad says Tuesday. Shady occurance number one. I then agreed by Friday. Everything is set, they send me shingle colors and I'm told they'll be by to have me sign papers for permits. No one calls, no one shows up. I email every day for 4 days and nothing. I finally text and they call me the next day. I'm told that they cannot honor this anymore and that I have to pay $3,000.00 more if I want their services. Roof quotes are good for x amount of time. I agreed EARLIER than that date. Apparently costs went up. Okay, I get that, but our agreement should be honored. I'm told if I get a metal roof they'll give me a discount. A metal roof is 3x the price. Why would I do that when you just blew me off and cancelled our deal over 3 thousand dollars. Absolutely TERRIBLE business. I mean, what would happen if there was an actual issue with a roof they installed? I guarantee they wouldn't come fix it and I'm sure there are some "make sure you read the fine print" issues. You should honor your deals. Now, any other quote I got has expired because I made my decision with them so I'm stuck paying more no matter who I choose. You guys are a horrible excuse of a company and definitely need new management. I will spread this around. Have a fantastic day. read more

A company that does not stand by their word and services. We had solar panels installed by this company some time ago. We have had SEVERAL leaks throughout the house since then and a MAJOR leak coming right through my ceiling fan, over my BED ! I have called 3-5x, emailed them and received no response via email and out of the 3-5 calls, I reached someone and they stated that they would have the issue rectified. Lets just say it has been well over a month since those calls were made and no one came out, no one followed up. Save your money and take your business elsewhere unless you'd also like to be rained on in the middle of the night. I now have a fan that is ruining and splotches throughout ceiling due all the leaks. read more

Bison Roofing and Solar installed a new main flat roof with three working roof drains, and also replaced the patio flat roof. The previous roof was water logged with ponding of water and bubbling up of the roof in places. With the new roof, there is no ponding and the roof is nice and dry. Additionally, nice modern looking solar panels were installed on the main roof to power the whole house and heat the pool. My FPL bill that used to be $350 before the solar panels, now ranges between $20-40 monthly! And no need for expensive propane gas to heat the pools. The swimming pool and spa are very nice and hot! While my metal roof looks amazing the workers they used were sub par and did damage to my finished porch and didn't care and didn't repair. The solar installers were top notch. No complaints. Communication with the company itself could be better. Our rep was very helpful and we used him a lot to communicate. All in all satisfied with completion dissatisfied with communication due to slow response. Still recommend for solar. read more

I cannot speak to the quality of Bison's work (for reasons that will become obvious) but their communications skills are failing-grade. We sought a quote for roofing and solar in late June 2019. The first step was reporting monthly usage stats for the three FP&L meters on our property (including two apartment units), though the project proposed was only for one meter (main house). A bit more than a month later we were ready to sign, when suddenly our sales guy sent us an email (!) saying Bison could not work with us because there were three meters on our property and his engineers said this would require permitting as a "commercial" project. Which is weird, right? They knew from day one that there were three meters, they had full details of monthly electrical usage from all three FP&L accounts back in June. So I asked for details, and he ghosted me. No reply to emails, no reply to voicemails left on his cellphone, for more than two weeks. I finally tried reaching him at the office. I was transferred to someone else who was familiar with my project. I tried to get details on where this "commercial" designation came from -- city? county? He said it's an electrical work thing (weird, we had an electrician work on those meters three years ago without fuss) and he called out the Broward Country Property Appraiser's office as having reported to Bison that our property was zoned commercial. Which, when I contacted that office, was flatly denied. When I reached out to Bison for further clarification, more ghosting. Which is when I gave up. I think it's likely that Bison ran into some real-world roadblock but more than anything else, their habit of ghosting me rather than explaining their decisions makes me think it would be very very bad to be in any kind of dispute with them over details of a project, permits, payment, or anything important. I'm inclined to think that we dodged a bullet on this one. [Also, and I don't know if this is standard practice in this industry, but two of their sales reps explicitly bad-mouthed another company that they knew was providing a competing quote. I personally would have preferred them to take the high road and argue for their own proposal based solely on Bison's merits, but maybe I am old-fashioned.] read more

Bison roofing replaced my roof through the ygrene program. Marvin was great and kept me informed of what would be happening daily. The workers were prompt and thorough in cleaning up debris each time they were done for the day. I have no complaints and recommend them highly. read more

At the end of 2016 I had my roof replaced by Bison Roofing and Solar. During that time, I also spoke with Andy about putting Solar Panels on. He asked me to provide 6 months of my FPL statements to plan for how many solar panels would be needed. He assured me that we would basically zero out our bill. The solar panels were put up in January. They have just about cut my FPL Bill in half. But I'm paying almost twice what my FPL bill was to start with for the solar panels. Not a very cost effective decision on my part. Fast forward to September when Irma hit. Water poured into 2 rooms in my house. I called Bison the week after Irma and alerted them to the issue. They told me that they would come out when they could. When I didn't hear anything for a month and a half, I called them back. The person that they sent out turned out to be a sales person. I called them back. They scheduled someone else to come out. I missed a whole day waiting for them to come on their scheduled day. I was called about 5pm and told that they weren't going to make it out to my house. I later had to take a day off from work to have them come out. When he was there he told me that they no longer contract with the company that did my solar panel because they had problems with their work. He also mentioned that Andy, the salesman that came to our house was no longer working with the company either because he was over charging for the solar panels and putting in units that were under producing. I called Bison and Natalie confirmed that this was the case. I spoke with her on multiple occasions. No one ever follows through when they say that they will call you back. She assured me that she would have Dave contact me to work with me regarding what they could do for me in regards to the fact that their company is over charging me for providing something that is not doing what I was promised it would. It's been a couple of months and I have still not heard from Dave. I read many highly recommendations for this company on google, which is why I went with them. But I feel that I am being punished for their hiring practices. I got a con man for a salesman, and contractors that didn't know how to install the solar panels. The roof itself looks great. After the repair, I haven't had any leaks from the solar panels. But I just feel that their business practices are less than ethical. I would not recommend this company to anyone after the experience that I have had. read more

Terrible!!!!! Stay away from this company. They sent Mark McGrath to my house for an estimate on a solar system on a Wednesday, we agreed on a price that night but did not sign until the following Friday. When Mark McGrath came to the house on Friday he said he had to change the price and add 2000 dollars. He stated that because we have a combo panel it changed the price but we had done a walk around of the property on Wednesday and he was aware of the combo panel before he quoted us a price so I disagreed with him and he agreed to the original price after phone approval from one of the owners. We signed a contract. Today, Monday, Mark McGrath called and said that he won't honor the price and is cancelling the project. The company is very shady and they were trying to dupe us out of another 2000 dollars. Buyer Beware! POST EDIT/UPDATE I spoke with Adam a couple of times and he is very apologetic about the behavior of his salesman. He has offered to rectify the situation in anyway necessary. I appreciate his efforts to right the wrong of his employee and feel that it is prudent to provide that update here. However, I have decided not to use Bison and look elsewhere. Thank you Adam for trying to turn this experience around. I have updated my rating to 3 stars because of Adam's efforts. read more

Paid for product/services never delivered and company refusing to return monies. I asked for a refund for $4,738 for a work, on their recommendation, to add a pitch to a new flat roof that they were installing. Additional money was paid in full, but no pitch ever added. The owner, repeatedly insisted there was a pitch. I had both town and state inspectors inspect the roof, confirming that there is no such pitch, along with several other issues with the new roof itself. Bison was informed of the proof that they had not provided a pitch, but at that time changed to saying that 'because they had to use extra materials and labor to fix leaks, (on the flat roof they that installed at almost $40,000), they would not refund the monies for the separately contracted, billed and paid for project, ($4,738)'. Some background info is warranted I first contacted Bison roofing to obtain a quote for the replacement of a flat roof on my 3 bedroom house. Once I had accepted a price I feel I was pressurised and misled into installing Solar Panels amongst other things. They then used aggressive sales techniques to get me to sign up to the work, now nearly $40,000, right there and then, and call to arrange this finance whilst still in my living room. I know it was foolish now, but the project went ahead without any real chance to reconsider the financing or work, and I am now led to understand that they should have told me there was a 'cooling off' period, where I could reconsider. In fact once I had signed the contract it was taken away and I was not left with a copy. I did not receive a copy of the contract until after work had not only commenced but was supposedly completed, at which time my ceilings and home were in a mess. No conversation took place informing me I had a chance to reconsider, in fact quite the opposite, I feel I was strongly pressurized into an immediate decision. No physical inspection of the existing roof was conducted as I was told that was no requirement to do so as they use satellite imaging to view the roof before providing me with the original quote, and the as such they were aware that I had AC unit and ducting on the roof. I was given the clear impression this was all part and parcel of replacing the roof. I of course did not expect the AC ducting to be replaced, but the roof to be refitted to accommodate that. After a couple of days their representatives, Andy, arrived at my house telling me that I needed to completely remove the ducting and that I would be better off to have multi-unit AC system fitted. I did not agree to that on his first attempt/visit but he persisted in calling and 'persuading me' to consider this. They estimated this would be around $4,500 - $5,000 and of course knew somebody who could do this. It ended up costing nearly $10,000 and was in itself another complete mess. When workmen turned up to commence the work on the roof they would not start until the ducting was removed, despite the lack of time for me to get an accurate quote for the multi-unit AC , or fully understand the implications. Again, I had been led to believe that the additional pitch I had paid for was to allow the AC piping to be run through the roof space. I now have thick cables running along the top of the walls in two bedrooms due to no pitch space to run those. In addition to this they said they needed to add a further $4,738 to the original price for the roof in order to add such a pitch to it, facilitating space for the AC contractor having additional room to run vents, saying 3 additional cooling vents would be added to allow the removal of hot air, these were not added. Their written 'suggestion' said that if I did not pay an additional amount for the pitch any warranty would be void, I would almost certainly have damage once water collected, and it would facilitate a new AC ducting system through the roofing space. Again, this was a written additional quote and contract 'suggested' and provided by them. read more

Solar Buyers Beware !!! This company is interested only in making the sale and will not tell you the TRUTH. They tell you the panels have a 25 year warranty, if they are not producing you can replace them no problem, the truth is each year the panels will lose productivity so if your panels lose 1-2% productivity or more per year tough luck because the fine print uses language like "constant line degradation" !!! They also like to say they are the only company to offer a 5 year roofing warranty! In reality the fine print states that if they have to come repair a leak caused from their installation that YOU will have to pay the cost, (I know from working on the inside that it is $100 per panel so imagine a part of your roof that has 30 panels that's $3000 to come fix something THEY caused), this patch job will probably be enough to get them through the 5 year warranty then your whole roof could collapse for all they care. Too bad. 32 holes drilled through the roof per panel using their "proprietary" system. I was told NO LEAKS!, I went into the office on a day I wasn't expected to be there during the recent heavy rains and the leak calls were non stop. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE! If you ask them about a tesla roof or solar panel the sales manager will lie to you and tell you the price is 5x as much, I witnessed this. The TRUTH is the tesla Roof Tiles starts at $5 per SF (the same price of a new shingle roof), and the tesla Solar Panels are more powerful and cheaper. Do yourself the favor and call Tesla/Solarcity yourself to find the details. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND ANY SOLAR COMPANY IN SOUTH FLORIDA!! Many of these companies have already changed their names (meaning they had to file bankruptcy or were being sued) and they are ALL offering inferior products and services. TESLA has been in Orlando and Tampa for the last 8 months and plans to be in South Florida by next year. Save your TIME and MONEY and wait for a company that makes their own products, will match your roof warranty or offer you a 10-20 year warranty (warranty meaning maintenance or any issue with NO cost to the customer), not some company like this that just popped up and will tell you the panels are designed in Germany manufactured in California when in reality they are produced in Taiwan ! After Hurricane Irma, we needed a complete re-roof. With a chimney and solar hot water heater, there were other considerations. Bison Roofing and Solar addressed every single issue perfectly. They had to replace wet wood and update the truss strapping for code. The teams that removed and replaced the roof were incredibly efficient , polite and professional. The customer service was impeccable. If I called the Operations Manager, Mr. Tomassino, I was greeted with "Good Morning, Mrs. Bridge !" No phone tag. No delays. Every detail was attended to. And the owner checks every completed job. I am so grateful to this company for the work performed. Should I build again, I will be solar all the way. And calling this company. read more
