I honestly think this place is popular because it's a slight step above the nail salons in Winchester. I saw Ashley. She didn't properly take care of my cuticles, and my extensions are peeling and it's only been a day. She never even put lotion on my hands at the end because another customer came in and she needed to move over to them. Worst part was that she took the files, cuticle trimmer, and other materials she used on me directly to the next customer (I saw it because she started to work on her in the seat next to me) which was pretty gross. read more

This is a tough review to write..... I have been a customer of Bisou Nails for at least 4 years. I pretty exclusively see Jack for my nails and he has been terrific, very meticulous and friendly and my dip manicure always looked great!! Last Sunday, I had a 12:00 appointment with him that I suddenly had to cancel to help my daughter with a sick child. They have a 4hr cancellation policy and as they opened at 10:00am on Sunday I called to cancel, unable of course to call 4 hrs ahead as they were not yet open. They told me I would be charged 27.98 (50% of the manicure appt.) for not canceling earlier. As a regular customer who has recommended friends to Bisou and this is the first time I have had an important reason to cancel last minute, I find this policy ridiculous and callous and will unfortunately be finding a new salon. All that glitters is not gold- this nail bar looks good from the outside but do not be fooled. I was in town visiting a friend and we decided to get pedicures. The pedicure looked amateur - their execution was poor. It looked so bad, I removed and repolished on my own. Save your money, go to cvs and buy a bottle of OPI, it will be better than this. read more

They used to be wonderful, but the past 2 times have been the worst manicures I've ever received. Last time was with Helen--she cut me twice and didn't seal the edges, so the paint chipped within a day. This time I had Karina. I went in for a gel manicure which is supposed to last 40-45 minutes. I was in and out in 25. She didn't push back the cuticles, she didn't trim any of the skin surrounding the nail, she didn't take care to coat the entirety of each nail in base coat, there is paint on my fingers and the top of my hand, the paint is bubbling up, and I'm not exaggerating when I say that the "hand massage" was a 15 second per hand pat. Previously, they were the best and I wouldn't go anywhere else; now it's time to find a new spot because what a waste of money. read more

Unfortunately the week before Christmas I had a very poor experience here. First, the salon is beautiful. I will say that is what made me pick the location initially. I am from out of town and needed a place to get my nails done while visiting my in-laws during the holidays. They have a really great color selection and their set up is comfortable. This is really where the good ended for my visit. I was paired with Karina. I had my pedicure first. She didn't really talk with me, which I was fine with, but I noticed it seemed like she was cutting corners. The woman next to me started before me and I noticed she had a nice long massage. I can promise you this was not the case for me. We moved on to the manicure - I had chosen gel. My nails were short so I just asked for a file. She shaped them and once we started the gel I knew it was going to be an issue. She was going "outside the lines" with the gel and requiring a lot of alcohol to remove excess polish. She finished, rubbed a little moisturizer on my hand, and I looked and was so upset. The gel was all over my skin, it was clumpy and the tips were rough. I would have just left but not knowing the area I wasn't sure where I would go. I talked with the front desk woman, she was semi-sympathetic but called the manicurist who worked with me over to look. I was so embarrassed. I ended up having the worst nails fixed and leaving the rest all while being mortified to be "that person". I left and not one person apologized for my experience. I gave two stars because it seemed everyone else around me was having a wonderful experience. I would not schedule with Karina if possible. read more

Without a doubt, the best nail salon that I have ever been to!! Everyone there is so talented and I never ever leave without being genuinely happy with all of my services. Even on days where I walk in not sure of what color/design I want, they're always so helpful and give me what I myself didn't even know I wanted/needed. First off, the salon is beautiful. I love their neon light sign it's true there is no where else I'd rather be to get my nails done because this is where you're supposed to be. The salon is super clean, I have seen ever member of staff front desk and nail technicians clean almost every surface and I'm still amazed. I have gone to numerous technicians here and everyone leaves me with perfect nails and a smile to match. I started requesting some techs when I want to do something specific. I started doing Dip with Tips loved it and staff informed me to try growing out my natural nails which I love. They grew to such a beautiful long length I was obsessed to see the least. Then one day Bisou said they were going to offer a new service, Gel-X. Honestly it's the best I do not want to try any other manicure service. I normally go to Ashley when I want to have a fun design, but the entire staff is extremely skilled and I'd trust them with my nails anytime. I have also gone here for waxing services and I love when I get Alison. She is super sweet and reshaped my brows into the best shape I've ever had. ANYWAYS if you've never been here please make an appointment you won't be disappointed. I love that you can call them or book online it makes life so much easier. A bit on the expensive side. The nail artists are very talented and the service is great. Everyone is very kind and the space is very clean and nice. There's not a lot of flexibility in scheduling (which is completely understandable). There's also only street parking and not very much. I made two different appointments in a row for pedi and nails. I was 15min late for first appointment (I got the times confused) but 15 min early for 2nd appointment. When I showed up they told me they gave my second appointment away to other customers waiting because they didn't think I was going to show up. They said they were not able to do my nails. I sent email to manager and no one every responded. I had a very important event and needed nails done. So disappointed, I was a loyal customer but no longer. I had a great experience here last week. I got an SNS dip manicure from Lydia. I had my 4 year old son with me and the staff was really welcoming and accommodating, which I appreciated. She was fast and thorough, and she was really good at shaping my nails into the shape I asked for. Whenever I get my nails done, I go to Bisou. I am pleased with my nails every time I go, however, the most recent time I went, I got dip powder on my natural nails. I went around Christmas time, so it was obviously busier than usual, and I am super indecisive when it comes to picking a color. I probably spent five minutes choosing a color before getting told I had to let the nail tech, Helen, begin on my nails. When she asked me what color I chose, I told her I hadn't chosen one yet, and she was obviously very annoyed with me. So I asked her if they had a green sparkly color and the tech just shrugged. So I walked over to the color selection and spent like, 30 seconds looking at colors before getting told I had to pick a color because there were other clients who needed to get their nails done by my tech after she finished my nails. So I basically picked the first color I saw to avoid any more aggravation. I brought the color over to my tech and she began on my nails. It seemed like she was rushing a little and then she would have to go back and fix little mistakes she made afterwards. It took a lot longer than it probably should have, but it's not like I could do anything about it. She was also quite aggressive when grabbing my hands and she told me to relax my fingers a few times, but it was hard to do so when she was holding my finger in her hand. She also would force my thumbs to bend in weird ways in order for her to dip and paint my nails. On my left thumb, there is a strange line in the polish that the nail tech noticed but didn't do anything about. For $40, I did not expect the kind of experience I had. I get that the holidays are busier, but that's no excuse to be rude and aggressive to the client. I may or may not return to this salon, but if I do, I will make sure I never go to Helen again. read more

My friend kept convincing me to go get her nails done with her and since I was finally in town, needing some nail TLC, I finally obliged. And I'm glad I did! My friend has been raving about this place for MONTHS and when she told me they carry a brand called Dazzle Dry, I knew I had to try it out! Dazzle Dry is a type of nail polish that goes on like normal polish yet dries in literally 5 minutes and-- get this-- it tries like gel!!!!!! You read that right. My nails literally feel like I got a gel polish on them and they took 5 minutes to dry. Best part? No chipping. This service costs an extra $7 but it's so worth it at this salon. Bisou is so chic, SUPER clean, modern, and so relaxing. I just love the atmosphere here. They have an amazing color selection and I love how ready they were to take me and my friend in for a mani and pedi. Prices were pretty standard compared to other salons in the area. I will say that the massage was sub-par-- no pressure at all. I also didn't get a hand soak for my fingers which I thought was odd. Other than that, I enjoyed my experience. read more

I've had three mani's done recently and two out of three were really bad. After the first appt., within 12-24 hours my nail polish started chipping. The coverage was poor too as I watched the technician apply the two coats of polish, she missed the edges of at least two nails. Then the chipping came with a day. I never used harsh cleaning products during this time as I was careful to protect the nail polish. So, why did the polish fail? The polish used is Dazzle and Dazzle is supposed to be longer lasting and more expensive. I paid $38 for the mani and then a $5 tip for the technician. After waiting a day since the salon was closed the next day, I went in again and talked to the manager and showed her my poor nail polish performance. She redid my nails but this time applied more layers of polish which in my view was good but also made my nails seem over polished with too many layers. Well, this effort by the manager did result in my nail polish lasting up to ten days which was great but on my next visit recently, another polish effort by a different technician resulted in a 24 hour fail of the polish starting to chip again. Again, I did not use any cleaning products or anything that would have caused the polish to fail. Dazzle brand was again used in this third visit to Bisou. I am canceling my upcoming appointment and not going back to this salon. I need nail polish to last longer than 24 hours! read more

No thrills experience. I had a gel manicure and coconut pedicure and still left with hang nails and dry skin on my feet. Katrina (spelling?) performed both services. I honestly felt like just another customer passing through For the introduction/pedicure: 1. She did not introduce herself. 2. She did not know my name and asked me half way through my pedicure. 3. She barely scrubbed my feet and the massage was so short and sweet that I barely remember it. Or it could have been because she barely used any pressure. 4. She didn't ask me if the water temperature was hot/cold (in this case, it was cold) She did however do a good job painting my nails on both my feet and hands. For the manicure: 1. She did not soak my hands to soften the cuticles. Any time I have gone elsewhere for a gel, they do this. Instead She pushed my cuticles back with dry hands and it was not pleasant. 2. She barely cut any hang nails that were surrounding my cuticles. 3. Again, what's up with the short and sweet hand massage? honestly, I did not even receive one. She literally put lotion on my hands and that was it. A customer walked in for a walk in pedicure and as soon as she saw her, could not finish me quick enough to then jump onto her. I overall felt very rushed, the services were nothing to rave about and I definitely do not plan to return. My friend felt the same way about this place and had the same issues, she saw Alice, who cut her cuticle too short and made her bleed. Word of advice- take the time to get to know your customers. Every little bit goes a long way, and it will affect your tips if you don't invest your time or effort into your services. read more

The salon was clean and comfortable and we were greeted upon arrival. Julie was truly amazing and gave wonderful attention to detail. All the technicians were pleasant, funny and fun to chat with. This nail bar is clean, clean, clean - my top priority as a customer. They are organized, on the ball, and proactive about scheduling appointments, and i've been treated like part of the family when I go there. There is a lot of attention paid to sanitization, and they are very thorough about supplying the stations with gear so the technicians aren't constantly running around borrowing each other's top coats, etc. Many nail salons I have been in have frantic atmospheres, with people running around and yelling, but everyone here is calm, and the clean, airy environment is very soothing and peaceful. Nobody here is unhappy, running, or yelling at anyone. Everyone there is really good, but Momo is a standout. She is always super friendly, upbeat, and has a can-do attitude for special requests. She is incredibly careful and thorough for both gel manis and pedis, which I go there for routinely. I get a ton of compliments on my nails, and it's all thanks to Momo's incredible talent and careful attention. I can't recommend her, or this salon, highly enough. read more

I made the mistake of not looking at prices online before I came into this place as a walk- in. There are no prices listed anywhere in the salon. I live right down the street and decided to take a walk downtown to find a place. I should have gone to my usual place near my work that I've been going to for years. The girl at the desk doing check-in asked me if I had been there before I replied no! She asked me my name and put me in the system. Maybe she should have explained the different manicure types to me instead of chatting with the other women and looking at their phones? I asked for the standard manicure, they took me right away. I chose my color, and as the woman was cutting my nails she was pointing to a different set of colors and was saying something I couldn't understand. With masks on, the plastic shields and music playing, I could barely hear her. The woman next to me said she's offering me the quick dry nail polish. Without telling me if this was an additional cost involved, I picked a color from the section she was pointing to. Perhaps she should have told me it was an extra charge. The $33 manicure was sub-par. Helen didn't even get all the dead skin from my cuticles! If this is their signature manicure, that is sad. Didn't soak my hands. The lotion they used was not that nice and they use a hot wet towel to wrap my lower arms and hands for less than 5 minutes. I was in there for less than 30 min. I felt very rushed and it wasn't crowded. Fyi. No tip on credit card. Only cash or Venmo. Good thing I had cash on me. I won't be back. I felt duped into getting a more expensive manicure. read more

I decided to try Bisou because a friend recommended them and also because they are one of the very few places in the area to offer SNS dip. Katrina did my manicure and didn't do a good job. I would have complained if she seemed like she cared at all. First she complained multiple times about my nails, then she pushed my cuticles back with her own nails (um...) even after I kept saying "that hurts" and finally, she cut me 3 times with the drill. For the icing on top, she filed my nails crooked and one down so low that it hit my nailbed. She got the nail polish all around my skin and when I asked her to fix it her response was, "it will come off when you wash your hands." Also, she dipped my fingers directly into the powder, which is really not a sanitary way of doing SNS dip. I'm giving 2 stars instead of none because my friend with me had a good regular manicure done by someone different. I'm going to email the salon this review but thought I should also post it since it appears that someone else had a bad experience in August 2017 with the same tech and she's still there over 16 months later. -- Update: 13 days later and 2 nails have chipped. Used to love this place. Would drive a ways because I loved a few of the girls there. But man oh man, one really bad experience will probably be the reason I do not return. Front desk lady was not friendly whatsoever, and even a little unpleasant. In addition, was convinced out of a color I really wanted and ended up with something I hated, but they didn't have time to add a top coat or do a quick fix. Also, I was left waiting at the beginning (when I had an appt) and in the middle when my nail lady left abruptly to do some waxing for approximately 15-20min. Therefore, I was late meeting someone for lunch and I left extremely unhappy and not pleased. Getting your nails done should be a treat and a time to relax- therefore you should leave happy. I had a gift certificate here so I decided to check it out instead of my regular nail place. The look was aesthetically pleasing, it was clean, the ladies were very nice and friendly, but I'm giving 3 stars for the quality of my mani pedi. My pedicures typically last a while, I can go about 3+ weeks without it chipping and before it starts to look overgrown, however the nail tech only did 2 coats so after only one week exactly it's already starting to chip. I would've preferred 3 coats, so maybe I should've said something. I then got SNS on my nails, they had very minimal selection of colors, so it took me a while to settle on one (that I didn't end up liking but now I know for next time!) Now, I DID tell them I had to be out in about an hour 15, but they told me an experienced SNS manicurist would take me, so she did. It didn't seem rushed by any means, but she didn't seem to pay attention to detail as well as I'd like. She got a lot of the SNS on my cuticle which other nail techs will tell you is the cause of lifting, and that's exactly what happened. After just one week almost every nail has lifted which is frustrating for an expensive manicure style that is known to last 3+ weeks. She also didn't buff it down to make it a gradual thickness from the nail bed to the tip of the nail. If I decide to go back, I would definitely voice some of these points so that I leave with a manicure that I enjoy! read more

I've just moved to Seattle, but I had been coming to Bisou for almost a year prior to my move. My current struggle to find a new place that is up to par made me realize I needed to write this review. The salon is clean and well maintained. The option to book online is extremely convenient! I had no idea how hard it might be to find a salon here that has online booking here, but it is! I was most always seen on time, and maybe waited for 5-10 minutes once. Regardless, my service was never rushed through or was I made to feel as if they were running late, even when I was the last client of the day. I came in exclusively for SNS dips, hearing about them from a coworker. I only ever went to Julie. Her attention to detail is superb, and her manicures would last 3.5 to 4 weeks. I'm relatively hard on my hands, and had it not been for grow out, I could have kept them for over that. She always checked in on the health of my nails, and we would discuss if/when a break from the dipping would make sense for them. I appreciated this. I chipped a nail after a week by doing something foolish, and she told me I should have come in to have her repair it. She's set the bar high. I always came in for a standard one-color SNS, so I can't speak to their range for decorations or ombre, etc. I do think they have a more conservative clientele than in downtown Boston, so the color selections seem to fall in line with that (Caveat: I'm a person who would do bright yellow.) The great thing is they are open to using your own color if you bring it in! They have 4 to 5 full SNS swatch rings to choose from, and also indicate the matching polish colors they have, if you are into your toes matching your hands. Thanks Julie and Bisou Nail bar. I came in this shop to meet a friend who had a gift certificate for services. Only reason for coming back. As an observer this time I noticed that nail filers and buffers ARE NOT recycled but reused. As well as toe dividers and flip flops. The rear door on main room was open and I saw two employees wiping them down and putting them back into use for future customers. GROSS! Can we say false advertisement?! This place is a joke. I confronted desk person who forwarded complaint to Jessica. My first and guarenteed only experience at Bisou was lousy at best. The receptionist, Rosaline, was the highlight of my visit. Julie did my mani/pedi and was skilled. She did my services in good time, where i was in a rush. However it was uncomfortably hot in the reception area where I waited quite a bit. I was watching the staff interact with eachother and it honestly made me uncomfortable(as I was sweating waiting for my technitian). They all looked miserable and were speaking in their language as they kept looking at me, and other clients. Thank God Rosaline was there to keep me company and refill the water she offered me when i first arrived. I think it was the owner,Jessica(?)with the long hair, who was acting offensive, especially the way she spoke to and treated her staff. Such a disappointment! This was my go to place for mani-pedis close to home and loved the clean and friendly environment. Today was a disaster though as most of their regular staff were on vacation and the nail technician who did my manicure and pedicure was horrible!!! She left my nails to soak in acetone for gel removal for the duration of my pedicure therefore leaving them too dry and brittle. She did a poor job filing the nails and cutting the cuticles and some times she was not even looking at my hands while she was working. After I politely explained how I wanted my nails a few times, I ended up doing it myself!!! Also sloppy job on the gel manicure which ended up peeling shortly after I came home. Uneven color on the nail with areas of the nail unpainted!!! Last, she didn't care at all that one cuticle was cut too deep and was bleeding! She left it like that, bleeding...Unbelievable poor service from a salon that used to be my favorite! I was so disappointed and disheartened that, for the first time in my life, I didn't leave a tip! I was so excited to go to Bisou, but after three visits I wont be going back. Firstly, I did call and ask about their sanitation procedures. I was told they use non jetted foot baths and liners. Liners were NOT used during my visits. Their materials may be disposable, but their foot scrubbing sponges are so tiny they can't possibly do a good job. My first visit was for a pedicure. The girls did not introduce herself, so I am not sure of her name? She was friendly enough, but rushed me through as her next appointment had arrived. Many of the steps listed in the pedicure were skipped. She left me drying and forgot about me. After I while, I just got up and left. Pedicure chipped in less than a week. I can go 6 weeks with barely any chipping, so this was a first. I attempted round two which was for a pedicure and a gel mani with designs. Again, the tech did not introduce herself. I caught her name because someone called her - Alison. The pedicure chipped within a few days, and I was on vacation and not happy about it. It seemed that this time all steps as outlined in their brochure were followed for the pedicure that I selected. The gel mani was an absolute disaster. I had shown a picture of what I wanted and I was told that is easy, no problem. There was major confusion about colors and the tech barely looked at the picture. Once she had painted half my nails, she told me they didn't have the colors in the picture. Why didn't she tell me before we started? She had no clue what she was doing and kept consulting with another girl. The nail art was crooked and looked like a 5 year old did the job. There was nail polish on my skin when I left and the cuticle work was bad. They also don't soak your nails. The icing on the cake was that one nail peeled off completely on day 3 of my trip. I have never had this happen with a gel mani??? Bisou charges more than my regular nail salon, and it is not worth it. I will be sticking to my old place. read more
