As a fan of Il Mulino I was happy to find this spot in Mt. Pocono. The ambiance was very calm which was a welcome change from the casino. The staff were super attentive and got everything right. The food was really delicious. Three of us got the filet, which were all perfectly cooked and had a great crust on them. The potatoes were fine, nothing insane, and the creamed spinach was also fine. More and more I realize this restaurant isn't consistent. It's either really good or mediocre. Unfortunately this was a mediocre experience. Service slower than usual. It's never fast, but it took over 15 minutes just to get the bread. Didn't like the area we were seated in as one person is facing a wall. The food was a salt bomb. Didn't like the beet salad and the Gnocchi with Bay Scallops could have come straight from the Atlantic Ocean. Came on Christmas day with my dad, felt sick after. We got the veal voldastando (8/10), crab cakes (0/10 do not eat!) ​ and seasonal soup (4/10). Things started out well. The seating was very nice, ambiance was comfortable and Bri, our server, was very welcoming. Then we ordered and things started going downhill from there. The bread was pretty good. The inside was 10/10 perfectly soft and moist, but the crust was very hard. 7/10 overall. I got the veal. It was slightly hard to cut, but tender and flavorful. It was not stuffed, but the veal was laid on top of a bed of mushrooms so close enough. I shared some with my dad and he liked it too. ​My dad got the crab cakes and soup and both were a fail. The crab cakes were dry and ​so fishy he couldn't even finish 2 bites and lost his appetite. The soup was potato with mushroom and bacon. Apparently it was a puree since it came as a bowl with parmesan in the bottom and 3 ladles of brown pureed soup. We would've been fine with that if it wasn't so salty we couldn't taste anything other than parmesan and concentrated salt water, along with perhaps some creaminess. Not bad with the bread, but it honestly tasted like a brown gravy sauce rather than a soup. ​My dad had 2 spoons while I managed a quarter of the bowl with the bread. We were not asked how the food tasted during our time there, but the server was super sweet and attentive otherwise. Bri made sure the soup came out quickly when I added it in hopes that my dad could eat something. It didn't quite work out, but it was no fault of hers. She turned the light brighter when we were looking at the menu, proactively grabbed my dad an extra napkin as well when I asked for one, and whisked plates away quickly once set aside. Spoiling myself, I stayed at the wonderful Mount Airy Casino and the Easter Sunday dinner special at Bistecca caught my attention (please refer to attached photo). The place is beautiful with a cool atmosphere and the hostess is wonderful. After being seated, Izzy took my order, and my dining experience began. The entire meal was well-paced, the flavors of the dishes were perfectly balanced, and the meal was beyond enjoyable. I am a big eater but I almost could not finish my entree! As in most quality restaurants, the staff works in concert with each other and everything they did was well-choreographed. This was truly one of the best dining experiences I have had in some time. Highly recommended for couples looking for a stellar night out. What an experience. We were in a large group for a bachelor party, and had a late night reservation so you'd think they wouldn't be too busy. The service was just horrendous. I don't even know how to describe it. Our waitress was all over the place, pretended to know about wine and knew nothing about the wine. She spilled while pouring, didn't even pause for a tasting when opening. She spilled a plate of drinks on one person in our group and just laughed and made jokes about it as opposed to being apologetic. The food took FOREVER. We're pretty confident the kitchen dropped the entire order because we heard crashing at one point. All I all we were there over 3 hours which was just brutal. What is so sad is that the food was phenomenal!! The pasta was delicious, all the apps were great. For just the food I'd give this 5 stars, but the service was laughably bad. read more

After wanting to try this restaurant for a long time we finally did. Sadly we left unimpressed. Reservations - after trying unsuccessfully to get a reservation for a party of 5 on OpenTable we were finally able to secure one by calling the restaurant directly. We then found out that they don't take reservations through OpenTable for parties larger than 4. Great, they should of listed that somewhere online rather than showing a message on OpenTable that "no availability." Food - food is very pricey for what you get. We elected to try the homemade mozzarella in which there was a $7 up charge for roasted peppers. However when the mozzarella arrived there was ONE piece of pepper under the cheese. Not worth an additional $7. Two of us ordered the steak with Parmesan frites. Neither got their fries until they asked the waiter. By the time the fries came they were full and could not eat many of them. Which was sad because they were delicious. A few of us ordered the gnocchi dish in which the gnocchi was very dense. For $28 this was not worth it. Complimentary bread was delicious. Service - our waiter was nice but seemed a bit inexperienced. He spilled water on two of us and did not acknowledge it. Additionally there was a mishap with fries not arriving with an order (see food section above). Beverages - all the glasses of wine ordered came in different sized glasses. Some pours were significantly larger than others. For the prices charged this was not acceptable. Decor - the restaurant had some nice holiday decor. We came here to celebrate a birthday. I have to say this place has excellent service everyone was so friendly and their food was delicious. We ordered their fried calamari which included zucchini, and cherry peppers, which I really enjoyed. We also ordered their roasted beets (we shared), chicken parmesan on top of some pasta, plus a whole grilled branzino. Desert for the birthday girl was equally delicious. She was served tiramisu plus a really delicious gelato. Everything on their menu looked fantastic. Went to Bistecca with my work family last night. The restaurant is part of Mount Airy Casino and accessed from the casino floor. Once inside it has a fancy, modern, romantic vibe with low lighting. This would be a great place to go on a date or celebrate an anniversary. Sadly, I couldn't get many pictures because the dining room was very busy and I didn't want to upset any guests that might not want to be featured on Yelp ;) The food was delicious with lots of choices. The vibe was great with the lighting. We had Jordan as our server and he was good. We started with ordering Sangria which we wanted red but he brought back Peach Sangria, it was good. We ordered 12 oysters and they were ok. For dinner we ordered the salmon and the shrimp gnocchi. When it got to the table we were very underwhelmed. The base for the shrimp was pork which we should have been told since we don't eat pork. So the dinner part just wasn't good. Not sure why the reviews for this place were so bad! Came here for dinner last night and we enjoyed our meal very much! We are started off with two glasses of Chianti which were $12 per glass and very tasty. We decided to get the rice balls and shrimp cocktail for an appetizer. Thoroughly enjoyed both of them! The marinara sauce with the rice balls was very yummy and both were hot. For entrees I got a single lobster tail and subbed out the potato for mashed. Our waiter was very friendly, attentive and helpful throughout the whole evening. My boyfriend ordered the chicken parm with angel hair. They accidentally gave him rigatoni; we let our sever know and he immediately brought us over a bowl of angel hair. The only part of the meal I didn't enjoy was the cheesecake but i believe it's personal preference! Would probably just go with something else next time! Overall 4/5 if we ever stay here again we will definitely be back! read more

Came here with a large group for a nice dinner out during a family weekend in the Poconos. Overall food was ok, some of our steaks were over cooked, we are pretty sure they just cooked them all the same and disregarded the temperatures we each asked for. The biggest issue was a few plates fell while we were being served, one being the chicken parmesan. They cleaned everything up quick and got a new chicken dish out pretty fast... so fast that the chicken was raw, barely even cooked when cut into. They took it back, told us there would be some kind of compensation and again, brought another chicken dish out. This time cooked all the way through but with a large bone in it. We decided it wasn't worth it to try sending it back again so our group member carefully ate around the bone. When the check came we noticed there was no type of compensation whatsoever. We asked if the chicken was being comped to which we were told "no, he still ate it" (after three major inconveniences, it's a miracle he was even able to eat it)... our waiter was able to end up giving us a 50% discount on the chicken. While we are appreciative they were able to give some kind of compensation, it's frustrating we had to say something for them to do it, especially after they has originally said to us they would. After all the issues, it's just the principle of it. Whole experience was just mediocre, kind of put a damper on our night. Outstanding restaurant! I have to say the food here is done right. The entire staff was extremely polite and professional. Bruce who was my server knows his stuff and is a very friendly guy. The filet minion was cooked to perfection, exactly how I asked. I paired it with a generous sized lobster tailed and once again spot on to how I asked it to be cooked. I also ordered a side of sautéed mushrooms that was a mixture of all different types of mushrooms (never seen that done). For dessert I had a scoop of creamy gelato and paired that with their enormous sized ny style cheesecake. Only negative part I would say is the bartender forgot to add a Cayenne salted rim to my spicy margarita but all in all everything else was perfect! Very poor overall experience. Food is extremely overpriced for what it is and the service was the worst I've experienced in years. Very inattentive, slow and unknowledgeable but they try to mask it by cracking jokes and pretending to be your friend. Calamari - they forgot the hot peppers, the breading was wet and falling off and it was clearly frozen. We ate it anyway and made a comment about the peppers afterwards when our server said they were his favorite part, to which he then argued with me when I said they forgot the peppers. Well, half-argued as he walked away in the middle of our discussion when another server interrupted and he left without another word. Unreal. Filet was extremely thin cut, prime rib was best part of the meal. Side of spinach was disgusting, and asparagus were way overcooked to the point that the cheese on top was rock solid. Service was slow both at the table and the bar, our waiter kept coming over and then getting distracted and walking away, one time after stacking glasses on our table which he then left there for ten minutes. There were clearly some old regulars who got a lot of attention but apparently my wife and I didn't warrant even half of that amount of effort. Power to the restaurant went out midway through our meal, prior to entrees. We ate the rest of the time in the dark and without music, which wasn't even close to the worst part of the experience. Right in the middle of the casino, Bistecca is a must if you're staying at Mount Airy. Although it's important to know- Bistecca is EXPENSIVE... be prepared to spend a ton. The restaurant is dark and cosy. We had a reservation, but for a Friday night, it didn't seem that busy and we probably would've been able walk right in. You do get a pretty delicious sample of bread and butter for the table, and we went and ordered the calamari. It was quite good. In order to offset the cost, I decided to go with the Bistecca burger. One of the cheaper items on the menu at $18, it felt a bit expensive, but it did come with truffle fries. The burger itself was possibly the best burger I've had in my entire life. The spices that they used made it unique and quite worth the money, and the truffle fries served as a perfect complement. The gnocchi was good as well. The only bad thing that happened was that by the end of the meal, our waiter seemed to go missing. We had to wait almost 20 minutes for our bill, and eventually had to flag down two other staff members to have someone bring us the bill so we could pay and leave. read more

I have been meeting friends at bistecca once a month . It's our favorite restaurant, the food is always great . Last Sunday evening we came in for dinner . The waiter came over with a runny nose and we could see he was clearly very sick .we also heard the table next to us saying that he was sick and they were hoping not to catch what he had . Bottom line is all 4 of us winded up with COVID!! We didn't see each other in a while before the dinner and didn't see each other after but all have Covid! Management please do not let your employees come to work sick ! They are touching plates, glasses and spreading to customers ! I do love the food .. Ambiance was secluded and nice - away from the bustle of the casino floor. Gave the feel of a old time casino steakhouse (being from Vegas this sets a particular tone). The service... one of the slowest. Sat down and waited 15 mins to get water, 15 more mins to order, then 40 more mins to get food. That would be ok if the staff felt attentive (or if the restaurant was actually full or appear slightly busy), but once I received my salad it was like warm and tasted saturated (from the dressing) like the salad sat on the counter to be picked up for a while. Besides that the food was lackluster. The crab cake had a great amount of crab but was overly spiced and had conflicting flavors that didn't complement. The wine tasted like bottles that have been opened, aerated, lived long lives in aeration - and should of been retired from there and instead ended up in my glass. In the end the Pinot tasted sour and the Malbec diluted. The steak was a bit of a recovery; lightly seasoned to allow the meat to be more pronounced. Overall it was fine. read more
