My husband and I had our very first date here and it was amazing. We will continue to return there because it holds a special place to our heart. The service has always been top notch when we were there. The food is always outstanding. Donald is the best waiter in the world ... he deserves a raise !!!!!! To start off, this restaurant requires a reservation. The same can be said about the steakhouse. I don't believe any exceptions are made. Although a nice feature is that you can reserve a table and available time through the Mount Airy website, which links you to a commonly used site called OpenTable. As a quick note, if you are a seafood lover with Italian food, then this may be your place to be. Unfortunately I am not a seafood fan, but I thought that there were still enough menu options to try this restaurant out. To start off, our waiter was not very knowledgable about the menu or drinks they offer. Not only this, he never offered to ask a manager or even a more experienced waiter/waitress about the menu. For a small place with very many employees just standing around, this should have not been an issue. The restaurant itself was very nice, but pretty small. It actually seemed like the spaced allotted to the restaurant was shared with the steakhouse. If you combined the size of the steakhouse and this Italian restaurant, you would have a nice sized restaurant. After we finally sorted out the drinks and menu, since there was olive oil and seasoning on the table, we thought we would be treated to bread as you normally are at Italian restaurants. Well besides the bread taking forever to come, we had to serve the olive oil and seasoning ourselves and we were only given the option to choose 1 piece of bread each off of a tray. The bread was warm and delicious, but I would have liked to enjoy more than one piece! I had to actually ask for another piece of bread to be brought over. I never thought I would go to an Italian restaurant that had bread rationing. Not only this, I've had better service at Carabba's or even the Olive Garden and they are not even considered fine dining! Next, it took almost an hour of waiting for our food to be delivered. Sitting in front of the kitchen, I could not find an excuse for this since the chefs were basically just standing around the entire time. Thankfully we were given our desert for free without contest for the wait. However, the excuse was lame and was blamed on a party of 12. So I guess do not visit this restaurant on a busy day! When our food finally came, we were unimpressed with the food for something considered "fine dining" where you should be given crafty and flavorful food, especially for the prices! This was not the case. The food was nothing more than average with little flavor at all. Where the fine dining aspect comes in is on the plate size. Definitely small portions compared to most other Italian restaurants. Overall, very disappointed with this restaurant. For the price of our bill, we would have been much better off at the buffet. read more

Had dinner here last Saturday. Service was horrendous to say the least. We were greeted by our waitress when we first sat down. She took our order and disappeared for the entire night. We couldn't get water refilled nor could we order a second drink. FYI, we didn't get a bottle of wine -- all of us were drinking wines by the glass or cocktails. We saw the bus boy 2x -- once to bring us bread and another time to give us the check. Now to the food... the food was extremely salty. I started with the minestrone soup which was a bit salty because they used a lot of bacon (strange to me but ok). I ordered the gnocchi with duck confit for $25 or so. The gnocchi was super salty. There weren't that many pieces of duck and the arugula was not fresh at all. I don't think the meal warranted the price. To make things worse... the restaurant hired some single who probably paid them to sing on stage. It felt like kareoke night at a TGIF. This guy was mumbling. Beyond horrible. To end this review on a positive note, the wine selections were pretty good. Bottles of Erath for $55 and McMurray for $50 is a huge bargain. I love both pinots... read more

We ate here for New Year's Eve. The food was very good. We had filet, rib eye, veal, and seafood pasta dish. The appetizers of crab cocktail and flatbread and salad were very good as well. Our big disappointment was with the drinks! The martini glass is tiny!!!! When we have had drinks here other times previously they had a nice size martini as fine steak houses and restaurants usually do. Now they switched to a tiny 2oz size but still charge $13.00!!! One of the martinis was even served luke warm and not at all chilled! They do not allow bottles of beer at the table either. Come on Mt. Airy!!!! Class it up please!!! If you allow people to dine in baseball hats and ski jackets and hoodies .....then what is wrong with a bottle of beer? If you charge $13.00 for a martini....make it in an adult glass and don't cheapen the entire experience. read more

We arrived without a reservation and we only waited for less than 10 minutes until we were seated (after mentioning it was our anniversary as well as my wife's birthday) because they were fulyl booked for hours. The food was delicious, we had the Clams Oreganato, Insalata Caprese, Chicken Parmesan and Crispy Shrimp with Arugula and Lemon Risottoa and our Wine was Huntington, Russian River Chardonnay, and my wife received a complimentary birthday desert which was also delicious, the service from the front to the back was top notch, the atmosphere was romantic Italian, will definitely eat there again, worth the money and we won most of it back in the casino!!! read more

An absolutely amazing dinner - really as good as it gets. We had the Oysters Stuffed with Spinach, Pancetta & Fontina as an app. Mix Oysters Rockefeller and clams casino and you will get this great starter. The Spice Roasted All Natural Chicken, Polenta Cake, Pomegranate Glaze with fennel apple slaw was perfectly cooked and presented. My friend's Housemade Ricotta Ravioli, Heirloom Tomato, Basil Pesto was tasty. The pesto was an excellent touch adding richness and flavor to the dish. Added a side of long hots (roasted peppers) - no room for dessert. Prices were very reasonable, the wine list was complete, but not too extensive. Staff were attentive and knowledgeable. Made enough at the casino to pay for dinner and more. That's a plus! read more

I don' t know how this place functions but it needs major overhaul in management. First, soup was ice cold when delivered and sent back. 2nd, no waitress stopped by to ask how everything was. 3rd, we all ordered pasta and it took an inordinate amount of time to get it.4th, the one pasta dish advertised as fettuccini tasted like dish water or fish water. 4th, there was a customer that was allowed to bring a dog into the restaurant, and it was not a service dog! It was a King Charles Spaniel & looked like a show dog. When we spoke with the manager he said the woman had a license for it!!!! Are you kidding me! I will be contacting the Pa. dept. of Health & filing a complaint. Avoid this hole at all costs. read more

When Mt Airy Casino opened this restaurant was excellent. It's so far from that now, it's sad. Took the family for dinner and no one like their meal. The worst was the ravioli, the sauce was difficult to eat. Horrible taste. The best I can say for everyone else's main course would be tasteless. My salmon and nephew's chicken could have been cardboard. To top off the sub-par food, the service was un-attentive and slow as mud. Complained, but the management didn't seem to care. Have been here many times before, but will never be back. I've sadly watched as it's gone from excellent, to average and now to poor. If you think Chef Boyardee is good, you might like this place. Otherwise, make other dinner plans. You'll be glad you did. read more

The only reason I gave this 2 stars was that the food came out pretty quickly. I ordered a half roasted rosemary chicken and it was so bland, I had to salt it up. NO taste of Rosemary whatsoever. We were asked at the end of the meal if things were ok, I complained about it and to my surprise they did not take it off the bill. Will never go back. BIG disappointment. read more

So I went to this restaurant thinking it would be a really nice Italian restaurant... Wrong extremely overpriced the cheesecake we got was absolutely terrible. Our waitress took our order and didn't see her the rest of the night accept asking us for dessert after another server had put it in for us.
