10/4/2025 Ate list: Walnut Salmon - 8.5 I don't know why I always seem to forget Bistro 26 when I'm in town. Could be location, could be the space. But went here a few times a couple years back and every time I've been here, I've always been impressed with the food and their service. The salmon was great. As good as it looks. I've actually preferred other dishes I've had here previously. But this salmon is excellent. Will be back. Hopefully sooner than later. read more

Bistro26 i probably the best restaurant in Erie. Bronzini with gnocchi is my favorite, but would also highly recommend any of the chicken dishes, scallops or hummus appetizer, and any of their pork specials. We dine in here, but mostly allot take-out, because it's too easy and better than my husbands' cooking. Inside, this place is elegant and romantic and perfect for a special meal. Excellent wine choices, too. I have tried over 10 of their main dishes, and each is better than the next. Portions are substantial, and we have enough for two meals each time we go. read more

Hubby and I just enjoyed a delish meal, as always for my bday. His filet was perfect-tender, juicy, plentiful; his sides were George & Angie's signature mashed spuds and perfectly grilled veggies. I chose the "special" of sausage, peppers, onions, fresh cherry tomatoes in a mild and perfectly light Alfredo sauce. Surely I will choose this again. Good food in a room that can use a facelift. Almond crusted salmon with herbed gnocchi and sauteed vegetables was very delicious but salmon was slightly overcooked. I recommend the homemade baklava. Server Laurie H is excellent. Easy parking in their own parking lot read more

Really good food! Menu doesn't change but that's ok with me. Very busy place and seems really popular with SW Millcreek patrons. Only downside is the parking lot...it would be fine if we all drove VW Bugs. Spaces are too small and is overly crowded. read more

We were visiting Erie PA and stopped in. I had the chicken Marsala and my daughter had the baby back ribs, both of which were very good. For my grandkids, they were out of chicken tenders and the Mac and cheese was just ok. Otherwise, food was very good and service was excellent. read more

We had family in town and decided to take them to Bistro 26. Everything tasted great but I had to leave a review because our food took 80 min. to arrive. We had two children with us and I had to ask them to please bring their food out ASAP because they were getting hungry. I had to ask a server other than our own b/c it was as if our server avoided our table because she didn't want to address the issue. After the kids got their food, another 20 min. went by before the adults got theirs and that was after already an hour of waiting. The server never even recognized or mentioned how long we had waited. While not her fault, a recognition of the wait would have gone a long way. I'll return but wouldn't bring a family or children knowing how inconsistent the service could be. read more

I have the Erie Fine Dining card so I figured why not give Bistro 26 a shot. I am so happy that I did! My friend and I went here for dinner on a Wednesday night. I got the risotto and scallops, and she got the stacked chicken. The risotto was creamy and cheesy with delicious cherry tomatoes, and the scallops were tender and buttery. Overall it was totally a 10 out of 10 meal. Can't wait to return and try something else on their menu! read more

I wanted like Bistro 26 more, I really did. However, I wanted to remain true to Yelp. First, it's way too bright for dinner! Please lower the lights and increase the mood. Place candles on the table for nice touch. Next, it is decorated like someone went on a shopping spree at T. J. Maxx. It is that soulless junk that looks so empty. On to the music, while I appreciate that they have music in the background, please leave it in the background. Not so loud. Finally, the food! The menu had interesting items but I was not hungry and opted for the chili. It was ok, as it finished with a lingering taste of too much chili powder. read more

Menu selection is higher end but they execute it well and very old school feel inside.

Nice little spot in Erie for a yummy dinner! Crabcakes were good.. the scallops over risotto was decent.. risotto could have been a little less salty.. our server seemed very "busy" .. a drop and go type of server.. for being the only table.. service could have been more friendly. Our first visit to Lake Erie was topped off with a great dinner at Bistro 26. Servers and hosts were friendly and attentive. We ordered the Almond Crusted Salmon and the Scallops & Risotto. Our salads were fresh and crisp. The salmon was cooked perfectly and the teriyaki ginger glaze was packed with flavor; the sides of loaded mashed potatoes and fresh broccoli complemented nicely. The scallops melted in my mouth and the risotto was amazing - it was fused with fresh basil, fresh mozzarella, and grape tomatoes then topped with a balsamic glaze. AMAZING! read more

It was an interesting experience here..a bit disappointed. Me and my spouse came here with a few family members. We've been on the road for about 3 hours and just wanted a nice meal since my family recommended it. It was around 5 we got there we tried calling and it kept ringing busy. So we just showed up. They were very hesitant about taking anyone who did not have a reservation. I get that but we were given a time limit on being there even though there were so many open tables. Mind you we haven't seen our family all year. Oh well we we were hungry and still had to drive 3 hours home. The waitress was awkward and kept making like snarky facial expressions. There were two other families who came in and just wanted to have dinner and they were turned away mind you there were still many open tables. The one man behind the counter was the most pleasant out of all. He was kinda bummed they were trying people away. The lady behind the counter then said "well maybe if you didn't take in the wrong people" pretty sure she was referring to us. Yes we were not dressed super fancy but coming to town was a last minute decision. It's cold everyone wears hoodies. The food was good but the service was awful. After all the comments I'll admit I was a little pissed. 4 people and $150 for a less than pleasant experience. Safe to say I will never ever go back. read more

Every time I come the food is so gooooodd. !!! I always get Cajun farfalle and they have the food so good every time hot and fresh !

The pasta was good but the portions were laughably small, I did a double take when I saw how little Alfredo my take out order had. The citrus salad dressing just tasted like pure oil with no flavor so that was tossed. I really don't think a children's sized portion of pasta is worth $18. Not to mention unhelpful when part of our order was missing. read more

Nine of us were here for lunch today. The waitress brought 8 people their food and not mine. I called her back and asked for my food. She said she didn't put my order in yet. By the time I got my meal everyone was done. This was very disturbing and to top it off, she brought our checks with 18 Per cent already included for tip on each check. I think that's terrible since I wouldn't leave any tip for someone who forgot to put my meal in. She didn't deserve that kind of tip from me. The food was good but service was bad. I won't go back. Today I had the honor of going to Bistro 26 for the first time. I first heard about this establishment from a close friend who had nothing but amazing things to say about it. The outside of the restaurant is welcoming, and as soon as you walk in you are under they impression they hold themselves to the highest standard. My waitresses name was Christine, and she was ready to serve as soon as I sat down. She listed off the daily specials verbatim and even added her own insight. She was quite persuasive. She even offered me soup samples without me requesting. I ordered the Turkey Bacon Guacamole panini, and I must say it was splendid. I have nothing but positive things to say about this restaurant. Terrible customer service. The food is definitely good although a bit pricey but worth it for the quality. I just called to place an order and asked about being charged incorrectly from a previous order. The owner, George, said he's "too busy right now" to address my question and was very dismissive and rude right when he got on the phone with me. Horrible, immature way to respond to an inquiry I had. Very accusatory toward me. I WILL NEVER GET ANYTHING AGAIN FROM BISTRO 26. I would encourage everyone to consider another place to dine other than this place. I was a loyal customer who really enjoyed this restaurant and was treated with extreme disrespect. read more

Bleh. I ordered the seared scallops with roasted red peppers over linguine. BLAND. So disappointed. Salad was good, though. Service was mediocre. Nice lady, but was inattentive. One thing that's important to me when I go to a nice restaurant is cloth napkins. That may not be a deal breaker for some, but when you're spending upwards of $25 for an entree, a cloth napkin would be nice! Even if we lived around here, I wouldn't come back. read more

Erie is my hometown, and I come back for a visit once or twice a year. Bistro 26 is always a MUST on my visits home...so I always make sure to leave time to go by for lunch or dinner. The food is always fresh and we've NEVER had a bad experience! I have been there to dine with small and large groups...with and without kids...and have always had an exceptional experience. The staff are well-trained and go the extra mile to make sure your dining experience is a good one. Having worked in restaurants myself, I know the difference between good and great service...and Bistro 26 is definitely the kind of place that prides itself on GREAT service. Every time I'm there I try a new item or entree, and love the fact that they keep the menu fresh and introduce new features all the time. If you want something on the lighter side...you can't go wrong with a soup and salad...which I've also done on occasion. Nothing canned or ready-made here...everything is fresh, made-from-scratch fare. The sandwiches are also pretty amazing...I especially love the Chicken Feta Spinach Panini or the Mozzarella Tomato Pesto Panini. My most recent visit was in November with a girl's group (celebrating a birthday) and the food and service was exceptional - another A+ evening. I had a vegetable pasta dish that was so yummy and really hit the spot, and filled me up - so it was hard to leave room for dessert! George and Angie (the owners) really take the time to listen to their customers and welcome your feedback. Whenever I'm in town and pay them a visit, one or both of them will come out to say hi and see how I enjoyed my meal. Since I don't live in Erie any more I still keep up with them and follow their page on Facebook...which I would suggest you do if you'd like to see the latest and greatest items cooking up in the kitchen. read more

My Experience at the Bistro 26 When I walked in with my husband, we were welcomed very by a very friendly hostess who asked if we had reservations and the size of the party. We get seated and we are waiting for our other guests and all is still going well. The waitress asked us if we wanted drinks now or to wait for the other two people. Once everyone got there, we got our order put in and we really didn't wait longer than 30 minutes for all the food. The prices of the food are overpriced for the quality. We were the for an hour we were waiting for the restroom to open up so we could go then leave. While waiting for the bathroom to open up the manager or owner came up to the table and said "It's free to leave, but how was the service." That was rude to say to a diner, he made 2/4 guests feel uncomfortable. We went on a Saturday at 6 before the super bowl there was including ours 4 tables full that I could see. They weren't busy there was no reason to rush us out the door and practically kick us out. Most businesses would love full tables were you can try to get them to buy more and spend more on tip. read more

A wonderful place to go for lunch. A bit expensive for an everyday place, but for the occasional visit, its not too bad, price wise. The soups are always fantastic, from the Bistro Chili to the other daily selections. Today I had a cream based roasted corn and pepper soup which is great. My wife had the broccoli and cheese soup, which she really enjoyed. "A nice balance between broccoli and cheese flavors." Her way of saying not overly cheesy :-). read more

First, I had the best honey mustard dressing that I've ever tasted. Next, the bread was warm and incredibly fresh. I ordered a chef's special. It was grilled swordfish with blue cheese risotto. The risotto was cooked absolutely perfectly! If that wasn't impressive enough the swordfish was also done perfectly. Not a bit over or under done at all. That dish was amazing. read more

Have been here twice for my birthday now. Important to note that they do not allow outside cake or dessert to be brought in and guest of honor does not receive a complimentary birthday dessert. This is an interesting place in Erie. There aren't many places that have this sort of dining and atmosphere with BYOB. The food is pretty good, the prices aren't too extreme, and when I remember to go there I always enjoy what I get. The wraps are a great lunch time meal and for dinner every fish dish I have ordered has been far above average which is something I can't say for most of the restaurants here. The last thing I had was Trout stuffed with lemons. The fish was nice and crispy without being overcooked. The lemons inside were not overpowering and added a nice zest to the flavor. My only complaint is it is on the other side of town and I can't get it more often. read more

There are so many reasons to like this restaurant. Lunch is quick, convenient and delicious. As a family, we love having dinner here. The music is loud enough that I don't have to shush my kids' enthusiasm. Every appetizer and entree has been delicious and the desserts are incredible. We've never left the establishment thinking, "eh, it was ok". We leave happy with leftovers, already looking forward to eating them for lunch the next day! read more

Enjoyed dinner at Bistro 26. Service was excellent. The cauliflower soup was delicious. Had Bronzini (sea bass) over gnocchi. The sea bass was perfectly seared and not over cooked. The gnocchi was done with tomatoes and spinach in a white wine sauce, which I loved. The gnocchi was standard, which is good, but expected better based on other items. The pork special sounded great, plus there are a number of items I hope to try off the menu in the future. They have an outside area, but it is close to the road.
