During the pandemic we have been trying to support our local restaurants. Even now as Erie is "Green" our comfort level for eating in is not quite there. We have ordered 3 times now take out from Bistro 26. Fabulous each time. The friendly courteous staff taking our take out order to the care of packaging our take out was superb. The food has been delicious! Tonight's dinner was crab stuffed sole with the cooked mixed vegetables and an order of ribs, tender and fall off the bone. Let's not forget the mixed greens salads, all were a real treat! Highly recommended, nice job Bistro 26! We'll be back! Keep up the great work. read more

They take reservations which is great! Large menu with many options. The salads and crab soup were very good. We were a group of 4. Three of us were very happy. The stuffed chicken, ravioli, and southwest salad were a hit. The veal was tough and bland. I guess just a wrong choice. The restaurant was packed and our server was not attentive. I miss the old menu, terribly. When Bistro first opened, until about two years ago, the menu was nearly double the current size, and had many more traditional Americanized-Greek dishes, as well as sandwiches and small plate choices. Now, the menu only has the (pricey) entrees and is about half its size. The food is still decent, but the menu is so lacking. read more

Had the crab cakes. Food was great. Service was great. Highly recommended. Locally owned and operated, give them your business. I paid half as much here as firebirds and the quality of experience was head and shoulders better. read more

Honestly I have ordered the same thing every time I've been here! I usually call Bistro for a lunch order to go every few months. I get the tomato and mozzarella panini. It has a delicious pesto on it and the perfect amount of balsamic. The lunch side salad is always fresh, delicious and huge. It also comes with a piece of grilled garlic bread. Had dinner here a few nights ago...not too busy on a Saturday night. Service was fair, however inconsistent throughout the meal. My husband had the filet and I had the seafood angel hair pasta. The steak was prepared to my husband's liking. My pasta on the other hand made me sick to my stomach - the pasta was drenched with olive oil leaving at least a quarter to half an inch of liquid in the bottom of the dish. We may go back, but will stick to sandwiches. It was nice to have the owner greet us upon arrival and the chef to check in on us during our meal...which may be the only two reasons we go back to give it one more try. read more

What an embarrassing evening first my son stood me up so I decided to dine alone I told the woman that my son was supposed to meet me I was seated for 2 and then I proceeded to tell her my son would not be joining me and that'll be taking meal home for him I ordered my food I ate my dinner she ordered my son's food to go after I was presented the check as the rules on the card says so I presented my fine diners card the waitress refused to use it because both meals were not dine-in they told me to read the rules on the card I did those rules do not apply and are not on that card so then the owner came over and told me the same exact thing so I told him to cancel my to-go order that I would only pay for the food that I ate there and that I would not be taking the second meal to go so instead of me taking my son home food and providing my son with a meal and that server getting tipped on two they not only wasted an extra meal and only got a tip on one meal so and they also decided to embarrass a customer so I unfortunately will never be going back there because not only did I dine alone I was called out because I was alone so thanks for making a single mother of one feel very privileged to dine just myself read more

definitely a nice place to go for dinner and way better than the regular franchises. I did not particularly like the french fries that came with my panini but the panini was very good in its own right. I wonder what it costs for restaurants to have real potatoes and not frozen ones to serve people ;-) maybe it is just me. My friend took the grilled asparagus and had to pay $2.50 extra and honestly they came like 5 strings of asparagus for that price. Seriously? You make people pay extra for asparagus and can't even give them a good portion of a side? But again, I rather go there than any franchise places that seem to have overpopulated Erie area. read more

just ordered a salmon salad togo and found a piece of hair in my salad. im a male so im pretty sure a long piece of hair i found in my salad did not belong to me. & wats funny is the owner once told me because i always order take it, had to balls to call me out for not tipping for my takeout orders that im supposed to tip for my takeout orders. i called and spoke with George and he offered to remake my salad but how could i eat another meal from a disrespectful owner who does not properly pay his employees and tries to force tip out of his customers just so that he doesn't have to pay extra from his pocket to pay the workers. im not surprised with the 3.5 rating this business has. make sure the employees wear hairnets when processing take out orders. definitely will not be coming back to bistro 26. smh you cheap f*** read more

Stopped in for lunch with some friends based on the Trip Advisor ranking as we wanted something apart from chain lunch or fast food. The menu is broad, but not overly so. There should be something for everyone here, which can be hard to pull off in a smaller privately owned restaurant. I had a nice grilled chicken salad with an unusual but nice combination of garnishes-spiced nuts, fruits, veggies as did one of my companions. The other two at the table had tasty and interesting sandwiches. I wish there was a half star option as I would prefer to rate this place 3.5, but cannot do so. 3 of us ate here on 4/2.. All meals were excellent. 1.trout. 2. Sole. 3. Pasta w/spicy marinara & vegetables. Service was good. They now have a liquor license. Pricey, but very good. read more

We ordered the sirloin with mashed potatoes & fries and the cajun chicken farfalle, while we didn't care for the sirloin the chicken farfalle was good! a very generous amount of chicken!! Our service was top notch. read more

Had a reservation for 14 people on New Year's Eve. Place was nearly empty, a few other customers here and there. Service was extremely slow and the waitress appeared like she wanted to be anywhere but where she was. Food was delicious and prepared exactly as ordered. Usually I love dining here but the service on this night left a bad taste in my mouth. I seriously considered adjusting the 18% gratuity that was automatically added to the bill. read more

Byob was fun, no corking/glass fee which was nice. Decor could use a bit of help. Overall had a nice dinner and a fun friendly server.

Visited this restaurant for the first time last week. The service was very good and so was the food. I really liked the stacked chicken and the side of gnocchi. The sirloin and the calamari were good, but not great. The side salads were also fresh and delicious. One drawback is the drinks. It is beer and wine only, and the beer selection is pretty limited compared to most other restaurants. We plan on returning soon. read more

First visit and last - new to Erie area; wanted to enjoy a nice meal for Valentines Day. Should have selected another venue. Food was not fresh even the lobster special was poor quality. The food: ok, presentation questionable; my one friend stared at his 4ravioli in alfredo and proclaimed as he looked at a nondescript plate of White, "just what is this?"His wife had Angels on Horseback, 6 scallops, wrapped in bacon , which she liked. My wife had glazed salmon with orzo and salsa atop, which she liked. I had stacked chicken, two breaded chicken breasts, sandwiched w/ spinach, bacon, feta, and a side of gnocchi: good but not great. Others had the chicken kabobs which they liked. Decent food in the $23 range, a bit pricey, I think, but others? You may think not. You try and let me know what you think. read more

Tried the Bistro on a Saturday night. The place was empty. The service was prompt, and our family of four was treated well by the waitstaff. The problem was with the food. The two adults had pasta with shrimp. The portions were large, but the food was unremarkable. The side salads had a mixed shredded cheese blend right out of a bag. The house vinaigrette was unseasoned. The bread was what you would expect from a grocery store Italian bread. The two kids meals were what you would expect. Not worth the price. read more

I love this restaurant. The space is warm and pleasant with jazz classics playing. The food is consistently wonderful. The salads are fresh and the veggies are perfectly prepared. Best of all for me is the tilapia in lemon caper sauce- it is out of this world and brings me back every chance I get. My companions love the crab cakes and loaded mashed potatoes. I have been a fan of Bistro 26 since they opened. But apparently I have never dined there after 4, or things have changed since my last visit. My boyfriend is a little bit of a picky eater, so we always look up menus before trying out a new restaurant. One night I sent him the link to Bistro's menu because I was dying for their french fries. He found a few items he would order and we were good to go. However, when we sat down and opened our menus, none of the sandwiches, wraps, or burgers that we read about on the website were there. Apparently the menu changes at 4 pm, which was not posted on the website, nor do I ever remember this being a problem before. We awkwardly left without ordering because none of the items that either of us wanted were available to us past 4. I was sad to leave but did not know what else to do :( I wish we would have known about the menu change ahead of time. read more

One of the few places in Erie that I've consistently enjoyed. Good service and actually friendly. We generally go for the sandwich and fries option for dinner and have not been disappointed. My wife is a vegetarian and she really likes the tomato and mozz panini and the fries are always tasty.
