Each time I would order the legume, it was burnt. Rice is muchy and not tasty, the fried plantain is very dried and not pressed. The service is horrible. Each time I would order food there and oder a specific food and ask for no meat and no salad, they would still put on my plate. When I complained about it, the big fat guy screamed at me and hung up the phone like I was begging for food. These people don't know how to cook Haitian food and, most importantly, they have no customer service skills. Over 10 years ago, the father used to run the restaurant it used to so much better and now, the place is trashed, the food is trashed and customer service is trashed. I patronize this business weekly. But I will not patronize this business anymore. I put up with the long wait times . But I will not and can not put up with the rudeness. You place an order and they tell you how long it will be I always give an additional 10 minutes. But you go there after being told 15 minutes and you go 25 minutes and food still is not ready. And they are MAD AND RUDD TO YOU. I did not give the time you did, so just apologize and let the customer know that it will be a couple more minutes. I have been a customer of this restaurant for years. Today will be my last day. I went to the rest. about 11:50am for lunch. I ordered two meals (1 turkey complete and 1 turkey simple). The person rung up my order and I did not realize until after I paid that I did not get charged the lunch price. So I mentioned it to the cashier that I am here for lunch however, I was charged the regular price. She informs me that because I was the 1st customer that I do not pay the lunch price. Perplexed....I said I do not understand lunch is lunch. It does not matter if I came in 1st or last as long as I am here for lunch I should get charged the same price. They said no and that I had to pay full price. As I previously mentioned I have been a customer of this rest. for years. They refuse to put meat in there legume. If I ask nicely and give them a $3 tip to make sure to put meat in the legume and still nothing . There's a guy there that would say yes we will don't worry . I end up finding there are bones and lots of bones if I'm lucky I'll find one little pieces of meat. One time I have to drive back because it's just ridiculous no meat at all. I have been unable to order food from here. I have an event coming up and Creole/Cajun food was requested to be catered. I called the restaurant and they do deliver but they do not have a menu on line or one that they could send me. I decided to stop by instead (Lauderhill location). At the location, they said they do not have a menu and that I should look on the menu posted on the wall outside of the restaurant. I advised that I am looking for a large order for a party and this menu only shows single serving items. I also asked if they make some specific dishes I am looking for. The woman did not understand most of what I was saying and just kept telling me "No menu." I decided to find somewhere else. I love the food here, it has to be one of the best spot's to get down home Haitian cuisine. They have two locations, one in Lauderhill and the other is in North Lauderdale. The owner and his staff are super friendly. The chicken and sauce with rice (The rice is called "Diri Jon Jon") is something to live for. I always tell the owner "The food he makes crosses the color line." I believe everybody will enjoy any one single item he has to offer. Give it a try, you will not be disappointed! I ordered :Legume,black bean sauce & white rice What did I get?:black rice and green peas & Legume The rice was great,but the legume it's not the kind i'm used to but It still would've tasted good but I can just tell that they use those artificial, bottled garlic,and I am not a picky eater but those makes a BIG difference,I had to force myself to eat it,please stop using artificial garlic! Ordered the Griot with white rice. I wanted a green salad with it , however they didnot have it so they automatically gave be hatian mac and cheese. The griot was decent however I could not enjoy it as I would like to because the pickelez was too salty and too hot. The wait time is ridiculously long. There is no place to sit as the insudecia small and not large enough to accommodate the traffic that flows through the restaurant. I had to wait in my car for about 30 minutes or longer for my food. I was referred to this restaurant and wanted to give it a try. However I typically would not wait that long for carry out cuisine. read more

It's really hard to find haitian food & you would think so close to Miami (a melting pot) you'd be able to get a good plate. I've ordered from Bistro Creole numerous times and they're really consistent with they're cooking. My favorites are the fried chicken and griot (complete). The only thing I'm not fond of is there side mac, I rather have more fried plantain. I've taken advantage of weekday lunch specials which are good for one sitting, the regular menu is good for two servings unless you have a big appetite. If it's in your area and you don't want to leave your house they're on ubereats as well. It's definitely worth it. If you like Caribbean/haitian food give it a try. read more

I had called in an order for stewed chicken the lady on the phone said about 20 minutes so I waited a little before I left the house it takes about 20 minutes for me to get to this location upon arrival I walk in expecting my order to be ready. I walk in and see people eating (huge pet peeve of mine) nobody knows what's going on with my order. Finally a lady approaches the counter I ask about my order she says 20 more minutes I told her that I just spoke on the phone with someone who stated that it would be done in about 15 minutes (about 45 minutes ago) all she did was shrug her shoulders. Ok look it's a Haitian restaurant you are not going to get your food on time but when you get the main favorites (griot, tassot etc..) it's going to be good! The one on Oakland is horrible but the one on south gate is the best!! The only place I've had the best Haitian food is in New York period!! Like others have said aesthetically, the restaurant gets one star. It all looks old which isn't a big deal so much as the food. I ordered the griot lunch special for $4.99 (which comes with a free soda) and I got a small Styrofoam tray with four bite sized pieces of griot (about the size of chicken nuggets at Mcdonalds), three pieces of lettuce and a slice of tomato, and rice. Maybe I'm spoiled, but at other places, Jamaican at least, I get a bit of a bigger serving of the main dish. As for the taste, I haven't eaten enough Griot to really judge it but it was decent. The rice wasn't all that great but wasn't terrible. Will I be back? Probably not unless I get a bigger portion. read more
