Located in the Las Olas area, this very trendy restaurant was across from our hotel, Riverside Hotel. The outdoor seating was fun and we got to see many fun lit trikes ride by along with happy walkers in costumes. Food here was super delicious. I enjoyed my wings, it was just the correct portion and allowed me stomach space for their epic beignets. Our server guy was very attentive. He suggested the beignets. He checked in us often. Bathroom was upstairs and there is an elevator for those with mobility issues.

Voodoo Bayou definitely delivers on the vibe. The atmosphere is dark, moody, and upscale with a little edge to it perfect for a date night or just somewhere different from the usual spots. The food was solid across the board. The shrimp and dirty rice had great flavorwell seasoned, a little smoky, and the shrimp were cooked right, not overdone. You can tell they're actually trying to put some thought into the dishes instead of just throwing something together. The deviled eggs were a standout too unique presentation and a good mix of creamy and savory. Drinks were on point. The cocktail I had was smooth, balanced, and looked as good as it tasted. Definitely not one of those places where the drinks are all looks and no substance. Service was good, no complaints there. Everything came out in a reasonable time and the staff kept things moving without hovering. If I had to nitpick, I'd say it leans a little more toward the vibe and presentation than being truly unforgettable food but it's still a strong experience overall.

Food was good. Our server Mariana was wonderful. Ambiance was nice but the table where they sat us was very hot. We noticed there was no a/c vents and we were fairly close to the kitchen. Can imagine that being comfortable in the summer months.

Voodoo Bayou brings Louisiana charm into the heart of Las Olas. We were in the midst of a barhop on a Sunday afternoon stroll. Unplanned stopover -- We sat at the bar and started with a Bucket of High Noons. The bartender was a lot of fun with a strong New Orleans spirit. We were mainly here for drinks, and shared a few appetizers. He strongly suggested the Oysters Rockefeller and we also went with the deviled eggs. Both of us concurred, best deviled eggs we ever had!! Artfully assembled with love. Next time, we'll be back to sample the entrees with drinks of course. Cheers.

This New Orleans themed eatery emits all the vibes of Bourbon Street. From the decor to the live punkish rock music, it was cool vibes all around. First off, the themed drinks were a huge hit for me. Not only were they visually appealing, they also tasted delicious. We ordered the smoked old fashion and the lavender love spell. It actually smelled like a love spell! For appetizers, we ordered devil eggs which was perfectly creamy and delicious. Entrees were corn bread, chicken & biscuits, the redfish. The fried chicken was perfectly seasoned, crispy and not too greasy. It was paired with a slightly sweetened corned bread. The maple syrup that accompanies this dish was fantastic. The redfish came half shelled and was grilled to perfection. We loved the beignets for desert. Service was quick and friendly. Can't wait to return to try other cocktails! Good experience

We had a pleasant experience at Voodoo Bayou! Inside is cool, gothic, very Mardi Gras. The staff was very nice and attentive. The food was delicious, a slightly different take on traditional creole food, but good nonetheless. I will definitely have to make the trip back up to Las Olas and try other things on the menu.

Had a great experience at Voodoo Bayou. The food and overall vibe were both standouts. The cornbread was excellent, and the cheesy grits were rich, comforting, and packed with flavor, easily one of the highlights of the meal. We tried the fried alligator, which was fine overall; it didn't have a ton of flavor on its own since it was heavily sauced, but it's still cool to say you've tried alligator at least once. The steak was juicy and cooked well, the Cajun hollandaise was absolutely delicious, and the sausage was packed with flavor. We finished with the beignets, which were delicious -- warm, light, and a perfect ending. On top of the food, the bottomless mimosas were a great deal, the atmosphere and decor were very cool and immersive, and the live music was awesome and really brought the whole experience together. Overall, a really fun and enjoyable spot with great Southern flavors and energy. Would definitely come back.

My friends and I decided we deserved a night out, so we went to Voodoo Bayou on a Sunday night. From the moment we walked in, you could feel the Louisiana vibe exactly what we were hoping for and we were excited for the experience. We started off with drinks, and mine was this margarita that tasted almost like a chocolate shake with rum. It was absolutely delicious! My friends ordered the jambalaya, and I went with the shrimp carbonara. Both dishes tasted amazing. The jambalaya portion was smaller than I expected, but our waitress did mention it's often ordered as a side. Since we were still a little hungry, we decided to try the wings and the gator. The gator tasted surprisingly like chicken it was our first time trying it, and we thought it was definitely an interesting experience. The wings, however, weren't really to our liking. The restaurant had a fun, slightly spooky vibe that fit perfectly with October, just a week before Halloween. We wondered if they had added extra décor for the season!

Voodoo Bayou on Las Olas surprised us in the best way. My fiance and I went for a date night on a weekday and the moment we stepped in, the place reminded us of New Orleans with the warm lights and rich colors. The bar looks straight out of a southern gothic dream. The theme is beautiful. I ordered one of their pastas and swapped the protein for shrimp and it turned out genuinely delicious, very flavorful and satisfying. My fiance had the chicken sandwich and was happy with his choice. The food matches the atmosphere: bold and full of character. The service was excellent as well. Attentive without being hovering. Overall, Voodoo Bayou delivered a great date night with great food, beautiful space and a vibe that made us want to stick around longer. Perfect spot for anyone craving a taste of New Orleans in the heart of Las Olas.

We decided to visit Voodoo Bayou in the month of October because we thought it would give us that spooky vibe you look for. I think if I had to give a rating based solely on that, it would probably be a 6/10. I think the look and decor really hits on it, but with some changes to the lighting and music it couldve been much better. The service and food we had though, was top notch. Our waiter came over with some water and gave us suggestions and answered some questions. With that, we dove right into the drinks and apps. As a matter of fact, I think we ordered almost every one on the menu. Gator Bites, Stuffed Mac N Cheese, BBQ Shrimp, Cornbread with Molasses butter and some oysters. I got the smoky old fashioned which comes with a skull on top and they pull it off to reveal the smoke and a heavy pour. This one, I thought was a little too heavy, almost like bourbon over a big ice cube. Some other mixed drinks were had and everybody was very happy. (including the two with the frozen hurricanes) The Gator Bites were chicken fried pieces of gator tosses in a sweet and spicy sauce. The only thing that wouldve made this better is if they came out hot. They actually came out kinda luke warm so the crisp wasnt ideal but the flavor was great. The stuffed mac n cheese was not what I expected. It large pieces of pasta stuffed with multiple cheeses and topped with big piece of bacon. These were amazing! The bbq shrimp was SLAMMED with flavor., Huge shrimp swimming in this bbq broth that was so good, my wife wanted to drink it with a straw! It came with some charred bread that soaked in all the broth and just blew me away. The cornbread came out on plank with whipped butter and molasses. It was soft, sweet and so good! I am not an oyster guy so I didnt try those, but the table said they were realllly good too. We were pretty full from apps so we skipped the entrees and went right to dessert. We got one of everything, except the sundae. The banana pudding was phenomenal. Two people at the table werent fans but they also dont like banana flavor or pudding. The Beignets were IDEAL. Light and airy, piping hot and COVERED in powdered sugar. The true star though, the vanilla croissant bread pudding. So much flavor in each bite. I would definitely order that again. Voodoo Bayou is a fantastic spot right on Las Olas and its a great place to go for a unique meal with a unique vibe. We will be back!

I want to give the place a 3.8. The atmosphere and the service was great! Super fun decorations and love music. The food however was missing the flavor I was hoping for. The fried tomato app was bland in my opinion. They have a sauce on it but the sauce was bland too! The Cajun carbonara was really cheesey but I found myself putting hot sauce in there too. The drink was wayyyyy too much ice.

My partner and I checked out the Las Olas location of Voodoo Bayou today. We've been to the West Palm Beach location a few years ago, but we had never been to the Fort Lauderdale (Las Olas) spot until now. The restaurant's décor is dark, sultry, and sexy. We sat at the bar, and our server, Tony, was very nice and accommodating. We ordered from the great happy hour menu. I had the Two Smoked Old Fashioned ($8.99) -- yummy! My partner ordered the French 75 (not on the happy hour menu). For bar bites, we ordered the Shakey's gator tail, cornbread, pear & pecan salad (lunch portion), and six hickory-smoked wings ($1.30 each). And we had the nerve to order dessert -- the croissant bread pudding! It was a huge portion that could honestly feed four people. We were super stuffed and happy. Everything we had was very good. Now let's talk about the alligator bites. My partner and I had no business eating all that, but to be honest, they tasted like popcorn chicken. That's my best description of the flavor. If someone served them to you without telling you they were alligator, you would absolutely think they were popcorn chicken. If you're in Las Olas and in the mood for Creole-Cajun food and a great vibe, check them out!

Voodoo Bayou located in Las Olas has a very unique dark atmosphere. Found the Gothic revival style very interesting and in tune with the New Orleans theme. We were seated on the first floor by the bar. The huge bar resembles a Church. The upstairs floor had another bar and loved the staircase going up. Very grand. We ordered a couple of crafted cocktails. They do have an extensive collection of Whiskey and Bourbon as well. For food we had chicken wings, raw oysters/bbq oysters and tried some gumbo but not sure if we actually experienced the authentic cajun flavors but it was good. Little over priced. The service was fast and server was attentive. As we were leaving, the band was setting up for the live music show. Be nice to come back another night to watch the band. Overall great spot but the best part is their creative decor. Perfect for Halloween.

Sat in front of the Whiskey Neat windows on the patio and ordered a slab of ribs. The bar is lit up with red lighting, a red brick back drop and some cool artwork against the warm wood panel walls. The front area had some basic sofas kinda a cigar bar theme. The ambiance is not even close to the sultry sexy vibe at their Sunrise location, although the open courtyard here with the coconut trees make up for the shortcomings. The gender neutral bathroom had cool brick wrap around walls and withered black tile flooring but needed some TLC, obviously no bathroom checklists enforced here.

The drinks were absolutely on point and I walked away with a much better appreciation for whiskey than I came in with. There's a vibe here that's hard to put into words -- it feels elevated but not pretentious. They had a DJ going and it perfectly complemented the energy without being overwhelming. It just all came together in the best way. Strongly recommend. Whether you're a whiskey veteran or just starting to explore it like me, this is a must-visit in Fort Lauderdale. Everything from the ambiance to the food and even the service was phenomenal. Great dining room area with both an outdoor and indoor bar. We sat with the bartender AB that immediately greeted us with waters and their menu. They are currently running a pick 2 for $15.99 menu that has some pretty great options. We had 2 meals & chose the wings, blackened shrimp po boy with the small gumbo's. Wings were super crispy, juicy, and tender. With a nice light Smokey taste. They buffalo and blue cheese sauce was actually pretty impressive. The po boy had a good amount of shrimp to bread ratio, with a nice sauce included. The gumbo had a deep rich flavor, but was not overly heavy with fatty meats. We were also informed of the happy hour oyster special, so we ended up getting a few of the rockerfella and raw. The rockerfella was amazing with melty cheese, a nice garlic flavor, & served with crispy bread slices. The raw came with crackers, lemon, wine vinegar, and a tasty cocktail sauce. Both were delicious. Marco, the manager came and spoke with us about our experience which really showed the attention to detail this restaurant offers. After sharing our story of visiting New Orleans a few years ago and bragging about the beignets, he brought us 2 out to finish our meal. I have to say, these were better than the ones I've had at cafe beignet in NOLA. They were HOT out the fryer to the point where the powdered sugar was slightly melted. Crisp outside dough but gooey soft in the center. A unreal experience to end a fantastic meal. I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone. Luckily my sister lives 5 mins from this place but I would easily drive a hour or 2 when visiting from out of town just for this experience. Marco and AB really went above and beyond to make sure this was a special outing on a regular ole' Monday, and we could not have left happier.

My family and I then waited about 10 minutes to be seated. The ambiance is pretty cool and I like how the tables are spaced apart enough where you don't feel like you're part of someone else's group. The food was actually disappointing though. Deviled eggs were surprisingly flavorless and lacking in any identifiable seasoning. The menu stated they were garnished with caviar, however, it was maybe 2-3 actual pieces per egg. Disappointment would be a recurring sentiment throughout our meal. I had the shrimp and crawsfish etouffee and was ultimately disappointed. The flavor was strange and again, not identifiable seasoning-wise. Our kids enjoyed their food, so that was a positive note. The baby had pasta and green beans with pink lemonade and seemed to have really enjoyed his evening, taking in the atmosphere while enjoying his dinner. However, they do not have burgers on the kids menu and when we asked about it, our waitress initially said it shouldn't be a problem since they have sliders on their happy hour menu and they would probably be able to just do that. She disappeared to ask her manager and came back 45 seconds later with a resounding no, and that we could only get it and he charged for the burger off the entree menu. Ultimately, the only thing that really was positive was the atmosphere, but even that isn't enough to drive up to gardens for.
