Cajun cuisine calling us today. Stopped in to friendly familiar surroundings to enjoy some really great food. Staz's kitchen still putting out some of our great favorites. The fried Green Tomatoes are still a popular and delicious dish. Today I ordered the Shrimp and Grits dish which was wonderful and had some large tender shrimp to make me smile.

Was craving seafood so we stopped by Shuck 'N Dive, which I've drives past a bunch of times but never checked out. We went early Sunday evening, it wasn't too busy and we were seated in a booth. The waiter was friendly and gave us some recommendations which was appreciated. We got a few things to share: the charbroiled half dozen baked oysters, garlic crab claws, and mild Louisiana wings. Everything was really great. The oysters were super tasty and cheesy and garlicky. The crab claws were also garlic packed (be prepared to bring a mint or gum), and were also fantastic. Finally the wings were delicious, the sauce was lightly sweetened with a splash of spice. Overall, I will definitely be back to Shuck N' Dive to try more of the menu (looking at you crawfish).

Place is a vibe! Busy, yet efficient. The employees are buzzing around like a cohesive unit. If they pass by they check in. Well done! The food is far above average. The oyster starters, entrees and every part of the experience left us wanting more. Outdoor seating recommended! Bon appetite

So, my bff and I were nearby to take in Michelle Buteau's show at The Parker and decided to stop in for oysters & a cocktail before the show and I'm GLAD we did!!! The staff was super nice! Friendly, welcoming and efficient. The ambiance was laid back but definitely not dive-y. My bff & I are oyster connoisseurs, and we both said they were some of the best we ever had! They were HUGE! Plump & briny, with a creamy bite and sweet finish. The oyster shooters were great as well - just the right kick to 'em. A little on the pricy side, but the quality was worth it. We'll definitely be back!

When a nearby restaurant was too crowded and had a long wait, we saw Shuck 'N Dive, which was on our "to try" list, and decided to eat there. There is outdoor and indoor dining. The restaurant has a bar vibe and was busy but not overcrowded. While service was good, it was a bit rushed. Yet, we had to ask for our check twice when our server seemed to go missing after the first request. Now the food. We ordered the fried green tomatoes appetizer, the blackened catfish Po' Boy, and the Cajun Grill. The fried green tomatoes were lightly breaded, with some sort of sauce on top. The blackened catfish sandwich featured a light, moist catfish with a soft, tasty bread. Both were good. The ham in the Cajun Grill was too salty and the blackened chicken a bit dry. The cole slaw and hush puppies were average. The sausage was mixed into the red beans and rice, which was the best part of the dish. We have visited New Orleans a few times and have frequented Cajun restaurants. While the food was decent, we didn't think it was stellar. One appetizer, an iced tea, a sandwich, and a "supper" dish was $78, including tax and tip.

The interior looks familiar.....like a few places I've worked. Let's see how this goes.

Just off Federal Highway on 6th Street (Siktrunk Blvd) in Ft. Lauderdale. Shuck N Dive is a Cajun Creole joint that would make NOLA and the entire Gulf Coast Proud. Shuck 'N Dive reminds me of the restaurant and bars I worked in as a young line cook in Mobile, AL. It has everything you would expect from a Cajun/Creole Sports Joint......I must say I love the menu. This year I got to participate in their Fat Tuesday celebration. It was great. Music, Food, lots of fun and few friends too. If I'm not back in the Promised Land next year, you better believe I'll be Letting The Good Times Roll at SND! Growing up on The Gulf (as we say) you see places like Shuck N Dive everywhere. And we'll all have our favorites. Maybe it's nostalgia or just wanting a little something of home, Shuck N Dive stands out in SOFLO landscape.

I was looking for a place to eat before the show. When I saw that this place serve Cajun food, I had to try it. My friend and I walked in before 6 pm and this place was almost full. There were so many things I wanted to try. But I settled for Today's Special, Shrimp and grits. The food was super yummy even though this shrimp and grits was not a typical one. The place was lively and I could tell this place was popular among locals. Only one thing we weren't happy was that the server we had was not really helpful to suggest menu items and the speed of the service was slow. I wish this restaurant was closer to my house.

Always the best in Cajun cuisine. And, the best oysters you'll ever find in Fort Lauderdale.

We enjoyed our meal at Shuck n Dive. Absolutely loved the gator bites, fried shrimp and sweet potato fries. Their house sauce for the gator bites and hush puppies was phenomenal. Our server was cheerful. There was good music in the restaurant and we also enjoyed looking at the cool athlete helmets and art work on the walls. Highly recommend.

A neat joint for Southern and Cajun food. The whole place has a neat, really casual New Orleans vibe. Our server, Alfonso, was great - he was friendly and helpful. He made good recommendations and checked on us frequently, without hovering. The food was generally good: the gumbo was rich and intense - but not thick and gummy. TheSouthern Fried Chicken sandwich was good - not great. The chicken was moist although the breading fell off too easily. The fried shrimp, on the other hand, were perfect - and the breading was perfect for a Po-Boy. The Mac and Cheese was great. Unfortunately, the Hush Puppies were overcooked. On Alphonso's suggestion, we split the Bread Pudding for desert. A really big portion, flavorful and with an interesting almond cream sauce. The beer list is nice. They feature Abita brews - and their Amber Ale was outstanding. Shuck + Dive is a winner in my book.

Shuck 'N Dive is a very frequent go-to for us! It's a casual, comfortable atmosphere with amazing food and a big bar in the middle-perfect for catching a game. It has a New Orleans/cajun theme which is fun and fits their menu perfectly. I get the chicken tenders meal which sounds super basic, but their fried chicken is some of the best I've ever had-only rivaled by fried chicken I actually had in New Orleans. The seasoning is amazing! I get it with hush puppies and either fries or Mac and cheese, which pairs perfectly with their sweet tea. Their food is also super fresh! Last time we went, they mentioned that the crawfish would be ready in a bit because it had just come in off the plane!

Stopped in for lunch and this place is legit Nawlins! Had an Abita Amber ale, then fried okra and fried green tomatoes as an appetizer. Then I had the crawfish etoufee and my wife had the gumbo. Service was superb and a very chill vibe. Great food but casual atmosphere. Highly recommend!

We stopped by Voodoo Bayou, a Cajun-inspired restaurant that definitely did not disappoint. We went during happy hour, which runs Monday through Friday from 11:30 AM to 7:00 PM (bar area only). Right away, we noticed how friendly the staff was, and the ambiance was absolutely amazing. I also heard they have live music on certain nights, which makes me want to come back even more! Now, let's get to the food. I decided to try the fried oysters, and listen... for my first time trying oysters, I was hooked! They were so good that I ordered a second round. My husband ordered the hickory-smoked wings, and let me tell you, these are a MUST-TRY. The flavor was incredible! Of course, we couldn't leave without ordering their famous beignets. OMG! They were absolutely delicious. If I had any room left, I would have ordered another plate. And how could we order all that food without some drinks? You know me better than that! My husband ordered the Black Magic Lemonade with bourbon, and it quickly became his favorite drink of the day. Then he spotted an Old Fashioned on the menu, and there was no way he was passing that up--he was in heaven! As for me, I ordered the Frozen Hurricane, and let me just say... it definitely did the job! This place has officially made our list of favorite happy hour spots. We can't wait to come back and try more items on the menu. And of course, I'll be bringing all my foodies along for the journey! Until next time, my foodie lovers!

Massive Feast! Epic Crab Legs & Flawless Fried Catfish We…read morerolled into Catfish Dewey's with a big party of 10, and this place absolutely knocked it out of the park! We specifically chose it because the wife loves crab legs, and they run an incredible All-You-Can-Eat special on Tuesdays and Thursdays. As you can see from my photo more than half of our table went all-in on the AYCE crab legs, and it was a glorious, buttery battlefield. The kitchen kept the supply coming--served up in big metal tins, consistently warm, perfectly cooked, and accompanied by absolute pools of melted butter for dipping. The quality and pace for an all-you-can-eat setup were top-notch. The wife was in seafood heaven! Now, with a name like Catfish Dewey's, you know I couldn't leave without testing the namesake dish. I ordered the catfish, and it was a total home run. It came out piping hot, with a perfectly seasoned, ultra-crispy golden crust while staying incredibly flaky and tender on the inside. The Hidden Gem Bonus: They start you off with complimentary hush puppies served with butter. Let me tell you, these things are dangerous! Crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and the perfect sweet-and-savory bite to kick off a massive meal. Whether you're feeding a massive crew, chasing a killer seafood special, or just want some of the best fried fish in town, Catfish Dewey's is the real deal. Incredible food, great energy, and we left completely stuffed. Highly recommend! Where is the next stop on the Fort Lauderdale food tour? Hit me with the details!

And no matter what special you get, you are allowed some catfish with it. So, of course, we each had a fillet. It was the best part of the meal. While the scallops were decent, we were not fans because they were fried, and a bit dry. The fried catfish was crunchy but flavorful. As to the sides, the cole slaw is good. The collard greens were average. The baked sweet potato was very mushy, and the French fries needed to be crisper. The hush puppies were addictive. If you like large or plentiful portions, add a star, because your belly will surely be full. I couldn't finish my scallops or the extra piece of catfish that I had requested. And you're not allowed any doggie bags with the all-you-can-eat offers. We certainly didn't have room to try any desserts. Two entrees at $35.99 each, one alcoholic drink, tax, and tip was $115.

The lobster bisque had a flavorful, well-seasoned broth, though it was a little light and I would have loved some chunks of lobster to add texture. Ordering is straightforward: select your sauce/seasoning, spice level, and seafood. I went for the Chef's Pick - Crabfam Classic Seafood Boil, which includes 1/2 pound each of snow crab, shrimp, and sausage, served with two sweet corn cobs and two tender potatoes. I chose the Mr. & Mrs. Crab seasoning, a blend of Cajun spice, lemon pepper, garlic butter, and plain garlic. It had the right kick from the Cajun, the zing of lemon pepper, and just enough garlic to tie it all together. The corn was juicy and sweet, the potatoes tender, and all the flavors balanced beautifully. If you're craving fresh, flavorful seafood in a laid-back setting, Mr. & Mrs. Crab Seafood is definitely worth a visit. Extras: Daily specials, lunch specials, and happy hour deals make it even more inviting. Happy Hour runs Sunday-Thursday, with $2 drafts, $3 house wine, and $4 house cocktails (open-5pm & 8:30pm-close). Lunch specials are Monday-Friday, 12pm-3pm.
