Shuck 'N Dive has the best biggest and juiciest oysters in Fort Lauderdale. Also the best Fried Green Tomatoes, the best Étouffée, and the best Turtle Soup to be. found outside of New Orleans.

On, July 19th my partner took me to South Florida ONLY New Orleans style restaurant called Shuck 'N Dive. The location of the restaurant is very close to Fort Lauderdale Beach, it was a very hot day when my partner & I went there. To be the ONLY New Orleans style restaurant you know the food must be good, right? Well, that food was very delicious, hot, fresh, and felt like I was in New Orleans. I ordered the fried catfish meal along with cheesy mac and cheese and tots. The service was phenomenal to me, professional, I sat outside under shade, the mac and cheese was so delicious, cheesy made just right, and for the catfish meal it was fried HARD, and very meaty delicious catfish. I will definitely go back there. During football season heavy into all of New Orleans teams since it's a New Orleans style restaurant.

Great Tuesday night at Shuck N Dive. This is definitely a place with a LOT of regulars we got lucky and grabbed a booth just in time because the bar and tables filled up SO fast. We love Cajun food, so we were excited to try it, and the gumbo did not disappoint. I was starving and completely forgot to take pictures of the étouffée my bf got, he said it was good, definitely creamier than traditional, which made it a bit of a risk for me since I'm allergic to dairy. I had a Shirley Temple, and my boyfriend had a Bloody Mary that he said was good... although I have to say, the green bean garnish threw me off a little I've seen some wild garnishes, but that one made me laugh. I got chicken tenders with tots and red beans and rice everything was solid. The music was great, the atmosphere was lively, and even with the rain keeping us off the patio, we had a great time. We'll definitely be back to check out the outdoor space on a nicer day.

Being from Louisiana and living in Florida for about a year and a half, we're always searching for Cajun food that actually tastes like home. Unfortunately, Shuck & Dive continues to miss the mark for us. We've been here three times. The first visit was decent and gave us hope. The second visit was a letdown when my husband ordered the blackened redfish and received only a small fillet--not a full side or whole fish--which was disappointing for the price and enough to keep us away for a while. We decided to give it one last try and ordered the fried catfish. Instead of a traditional cornmeal fry, the fish was coated in a thick, overly hard batter. The crust was so tough that when you hit it with a fork, it cracked and fell off. The menu claims the catfish is farm-raised, but the taste was straight-up river mud cat. If you know catfish, you know there's no hiding that flavor. The only real positive is the atmosphere. The music, the photos, and the overall vibe feel very Louisiana and definitely give off a homey, Cajun feel. Sadly, good atmosphere can't make up for inconsistent and disappointing food. It'll be a long while before we consider coming back--if we do at all.

Cajun cuisine calling us today. Stopped in to friendly familiar surroundings to enjoy some really great food. Staz's kitchen still putting out some of our great favorites. The fried Green Tomatoes are still a popular and delicious dish. Today I ordered the Shrimp and Grits dish which was wonderful and had some large tender shrimp to make me smile.

Was craving seafood so we stopped by Shuck 'N Dive, which I've drives past a bunch of times but never checked out. We went early Sunday evening, it wasn't too busy and we were seated in a booth. The waiter was friendly and gave us some recommendations which was appreciated. We got a few things to share: the charbroiled half dozen baked oysters, garlic crab claws, and mild Louisiana wings. Everything was really great. The oysters were super tasty and cheesy and garlicky. The crab claws were also garlic packed (be prepared to bring a mint or gum), and were also fantastic. Finally the wings were delicious, the sauce was lightly sweetened with a splash of spice. Overall, I will definitely be back to Shuck N' Dive to try more of the menu (looking at you crawfish).

Place is a vibe! Busy, yet efficient. The employees are buzzing around like a cohesive unit. If they pass by they check in. Well done! The food is far above average. The oyster starters, entrees and every part of the experience left us wanting more. Outdoor seating recommended! Bon appetite

So, my bff and I were nearby to take in Michelle Buteau's show at The Parker and decided to stop in for oysters & a cocktail before the show and I'm GLAD we did!!! The staff was super nice! Friendly, welcoming and efficient. The ambiance was laid back but definitely not dive-y. My bff & I are oyster connoisseurs, and we both said they were some of the best we ever had! They were HUGE! Plump & briny, with a creamy bite and sweet finish. The oyster shooters were great as well - just the right kick to 'em. A little on the pricy side, but the quality was worth it. We'll definitely be back!

When a nearby restaurant was too crowded and had a long wait, we saw Shuck 'N Dive, which was on our "to try" list, and decided to eat there. There is outdoor and indoor dining. The restaurant has a bar vibe and was busy but not overcrowded. While service was good, it was a bit rushed. Yet, we had to ask for our check twice when our server seemed to go missing after the first request. Now the food. We ordered the fried green tomatoes appetizer, the blackened catfish Po' Boy, and the Cajun Grill. The fried green tomatoes were lightly breaded, with some sort of sauce on top. The blackened catfish sandwich featured a light, moist catfish with a soft, tasty bread. Both were good. The ham in the Cajun Grill was too salty and the blackened chicken a bit dry. The cole slaw and hush puppies were average. The sausage was mixed into the red beans and rice, which was the best part of the dish. We have visited New Orleans a few times and have frequented Cajun restaurants. While the food was decent, we didn't think it was stellar. One appetizer, an iced tea, a sandwich, and a "supper" dish was $78, including tax and tip.

The interior looks familiar.....like a few places I've worked. Let's see how this goes.

Just off Federal Highway on 6th Street (Siktrunk Blvd) in Ft. Lauderdale. Shuck N Dive is a Cajun Creole joint that would make NOLA and the entire Gulf Coast Proud. Shuck 'N Dive reminds me of the restaurant and bars I worked in as a young line cook in Mobile, AL. It has everything you would expect from a Cajun/Creole Sports Joint......I must say I love the menu. This year I got to participate in their Fat Tuesday celebration. It was great. Music, Food, lots of fun and few friends too. If I'm not back in the Promised Land next year, you better believe I'll be Letting The Good Times Roll at SND! Growing up on The Gulf (as we say) you see places like Shuck N Dive everywhere. And we'll all have our favorites. Maybe it's nostalgia or just wanting a little something of home, Shuck N Dive stands out in SOFLO landscape.

I was looking for a place to eat before the show. When I saw that this place serve Cajun food, I had to try it. My friend and I walked in before 6 pm and this place was almost full. There were so many things I wanted to try. But I settled for Today's Special, Shrimp and grits. The food was super yummy even though this shrimp and grits was not a typical one. The place was lively and I could tell this place was popular among locals. Only one thing we weren't happy was that the server we had was not really helpful to suggest menu items and the speed of the service was slow. I wish this restaurant was closer to my house.

A neat joint for Southern and Cajun food. The whole place has a neat, really casual New Orleans vibe. Our server, Alfonso, was great - he was friendly and helpful. He made good recommendations and checked on us frequently, without hovering. The food was generally good: the gumbo was rich and intense - but not thick and gummy. TheSouthern Fried Chicken sandwich was good - not great. The chicken was moist although the breading fell off too easily. The fried shrimp, on the other hand, were perfect - and the breading was perfect for a Po-Boy. The Mac and Cheese was great. Unfortunately, the Hush Puppies were overcooked. On Alphonso's suggestion, we split the Bread Pudding for desert. A really big portion, flavorful and with an interesting almond cream sauce. The beer list is nice. They feature Abita brews - and their Amber Ale was outstanding. Shuck + Dive is a winner in my book.

Shuck 'N Dive is a very frequent go-to for us! It's a casual, comfortable atmosphere with amazing food and a big bar in the middle-perfect for catching a game. It has a New Orleans/cajun theme which is fun and fits their menu perfectly. I get the chicken tenders meal which sounds super basic, but their fried chicken is some of the best I've ever had-only rivaled by fried chicken I actually had in New Orleans. The seasoning is amazing! I get it with hush puppies and either fries or Mac and cheese, which pairs perfectly with their sweet tea. Their food is also super fresh! Last time we went, they mentioned that the crawfish would be ready in a bit because it had just come in off the plane!

We stopped by Voodoo Bayou, a Cajun-inspired restaurant that definitely did not disappoint. We went during happy hour, which runs Monday through Friday from 11:30 AM to 7:00 PM (bar area only). Right away, we noticed how friendly the staff was, and the ambiance was absolutely amazing. I also heard they have live music on certain nights, which makes me want to come back even more! Now, let's get to the food. I decided to try the fried oysters, and listen... for my first time trying oysters, I was hooked! They were so good that I ordered a second round. My husband ordered the hickory-smoked wings, and let me tell you, these are a MUST-TRY. The flavor was incredible! Of course, we couldn't leave without ordering their famous beignets. OMG! They were absolutely delicious. If I had any room left, I would have ordered another plate. And how could we order all that food without some drinks? You know me better than that! My husband ordered the Black Magic Lemonade with bourbon, and it quickly became his favorite drink of the day. Then he spotted an Old Fashioned on the menu, and there was no way he was passing that up--he was in heaven! As for me, I ordered the Frozen Hurricane, and let me just say... it definitely did the job! This place has officially made our list of favorite happy hour spots. We can't wait to come back and try more items on the menu. And of course, I'll be bringing all my foodies along for the journey! Until next time, my foodie lovers!

If you're driving a larger truck, be aware that parking is available but pretty tight. Once inside, we were warmly greeted by the host, who was incredibly friendly and escorted us to our table. Our waitress was just as wonderful--attentive, personable, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. There was music playing everyone there was enjoying themselves. Since it was Tuesday, we both ordered the all-you-can-eat fried catfish special for $21.99. They start you off with hush puppies and coleslaw, and when your meal arrives, you get your choice of a side. We both chose the fries. The portions were generous, with plenty of crispy fried catfish on the plate. The fish itself had great flavor, was perfectly crispy, and wasn't over-breaded. The hush puppies were delicious, and the French fries were cooked just right. My husband, who considers himself a bit of a coleslaw connoisseur, really enjoyed the coleslaw. I wasn't as impressed with it, but that's just my personal preference. My biggest disappointment was the tartar sauce. For a restaurant that's been around as long as Catfish Dewey's, I expected a homemade tartar sauce. Instead, it came in a pre-packaged container and tasted overwhelmingly of onion. Unfortunately, it just wasn't for me. If I were rating everything individually, I'd give the catfish a 7/10, the hush puppies an 8/10, the fries an 8/10, the coleslaw a 5/10, and the tartar sauce a 0/10. Overall, we enjoyed our visit, especially the friendly service and the crispy catfish. While it wasn't the best fried catfish we've had, it was still a good meal. As I always say, don't let my opinion make your decision. Everyone's taste is different, so go try it for yourself and form your own opinion. You might love it!

It also says a lot when someone has worked there for years and years. It says without words that employee retention is a reflection of the company itself (management and owners). I definitely highly recommend this environment for those who enjoy a lively place as there is a fun and unique way in which they honor birthdays (a great spot for these celebrations), every guest is given a wooden mallet (hammer) to break the crab shells, however, when they announce a birthday wish over the speakers throughout the array of dining room options (one being a large barge on the canal), EVERYONE bangs their mallets on the tables which creates a cacophony of sound!
