She felt bad and apologized and we reacted fast so we only had to wait for a table to be disassembled and re-set up. The menu is relatively small but had plenty on it that we were interested in. We ultimately ordered the west bloomfield onion soup, the fried artichoke appetizer, a walleye dish and the duck. The entrees were tasty. I'm so happy I came in yesterday and enjoyed my solo dinner. I came in and was greeted by the waitress who told me fresh bread was coming up. That bread was so yummy and the butter too! The menu is small, but perfect to try out new recipes. I opted for the bolognese pasta and mussel appetizer. Every item was fresh made and you can tell. The food had a perfect portion for each. Great service and food but a very small dining room. Limited menu so they everything on it is done well. Reservations are almost necessary but some tables were not reserved when my group of ten enjoyed the food. From the soup to mains like salmon, lamb chops, dinner salad, and one of the best beef stroganoff I have eaten and it does compare to my standard of Ann Arbor's Webers. Many of us had to take part of our choices home so we could enjoy some of the desserts. The chocolate cake was delicious and almost like a brownie. The cherry strudel could been enjoyed by 2. We had 6 people in our party, none of had been to the restaurant before. Please hire better servers! It can't hurt. Our server could not have been more glib and uninterested if she tried. I asked for "a lot more cream" for my coffee and she merely brought me 2 more creamers. My dining companion ordered ratatouille soup with his dinner and it never arrived. They also said no when I asked if the beef stroganoff could be made without mushrooms since I'm allergic. I literally make this dish at home all the time mushroom-free so I know it's possible! They are probably using sauce that comes in a bag instead of homemade. I hate fennel and unfortunately it's in the meat of the bolognese sauce with pappardelle pasta so I barely ate anything that night except for the bread (which was tough.) My other dining companion had the duck and said the duck itself was delicious and tasted like rotisserie chicken but they thought the sweet potato puree and cherries was just gross. The lobster and caviar crostini and the lobster melt pics from here both look so appealing, but alas there is no lobster and caviar crostini or lobster melt, bummer. We ordered a bottle of Pelligrino, Salmon a la plancha Canard aux cerises (duck breast) with asparagus instead of sweet potato purée and two house salad. Our waitress is pleasant, explained the menu, it changes a lot during the pandemic and isn't a French fusion. The cook is also quite amiable and friendly too. It is a quaint spot. Some jazz music in the background. The plates were out after a little while. Ye duck was pink as was the salmon. The duck breast and the salmon are both cooked medium to medium rare here. We had them cook it a bit more to cook it fully. The duck breast meat is fatty, as expected, it's mostly fat. After it was fully cooked, it was still tender, the breast is still a bit chewy and fatty. The salmon after it was cooked was nice and crunchy on the outside from the pan and was cooked all the way through in the oven. The waitress told us fresh bread was baking and would be out soon, we asked her to not bring it out. The house mixed salad is good, the balsamic is yummy. I am rarely in this area because of the traffic, however, the promise of a French restaurant was too appealing to resist, especially since I am sorely missing Mikette and Standard Bistro. The menu at Le Bliss includes some classic French dishes, including coq au vin, Croque Monsieur, Whitefish à la Meunière, ratatouille, and bouillabaisse. I called the restaurant on a recent Saturday to order bouillabaisse, a healthy fish stew, and French fries, for curbside pick-up. The bright blue restaurant is noticeable from the road. The food was brought out soon after I pulled into the parking lot by a polite and respectful staffer. Although I was late and home was 25 mins away, the food was still warm and delicious when I got home. The bouillabaisse was filled with mussels, fish, plump shrimp, and tender baby tomatoes in a fragrant tomato broth. I gobbled up the seafood and slurped up the broth - hey, I was hungry and the food was good. The French fries were thin and crispy, with a tender interior. Yum. I ordered the one with the lobster-flavored cheese sauce. It was a flavorful (and pricey) treat. I plan to try many of the items on the menu. I am determined to have the coq au vin and the whitefish. This is a new restaurant that describes itself on its website as French inspired Eastern European cuisine. It seemed intriguing enough. I went for a late lunch and was impressed. I had the lobster melt with West Bloomfield onion soup (French onion soup with a matzo ball, instead of of bread). It was quite good and offered an interesting twist on a beloved classic. I also sampled the chicken cordon bleu, the creme brûlée, and the petit gateau, which were all good. The atmosphere was appropriate for a relaxed bistro vibe, the prices were fair relative to quality, and the staff was helpful and polite. I was glad they offered me a dinner menu to check out. That was helpful, as I'll definitely be back to try some more interesting items. With so many boring chain restaurants dominating this area, I always applaud these aspiring independent places when it's obvious their efforts are sincere. The ambiance was really nice but the service was awkward. None of the Waitstaff seemed very experienced and they were hanging all over the counters playing on their cell phones and chatting. It was difficult to get a someone's attention when my husband discovered his veal chop was cooked closer to blue then his requested medium. Our Server also did things liked laid a steak knife on the table with the pointed end towards me as she lowered it. It's just an unprofessional way to handle a super sharp knife and I felt uncomfortable. Also, there was no apology for the mistake with the veal chop. I thought the food was over all under- seasoned and lacked any depth of flavor. I'm surprised by all the good reviews. I feel a little misled here. read more

Here's a new favorite in West Bloomfield. When walking in, you're greeted by friendly staff and both times there, the servers have been super nice and helpful. Its not that big inside, so it's charming and cozy. Of the two soup options I tried, stick with the French Onion. The broth is simply delicious with beautiful and tasty onions. The cheese isn't as thick as other places or traditionally, but that's ok. The uniqueness in this dish is matza balls instead of croutons. It's their interpretation being in West Bloomfield with a larger Jewish population. Its good, it works in it. The Ratatouille soup is good just not as flavorful compared side by side with the onion. Even though we were in for lunch, they let us order the Lobster and Caviar Crostini from the dinner menu. Wow, that's good. Try it at dinner or at lunch if they will do it. That is packed with flavor. If they don't and you still want an appetizer, go no further than the Haricot Vert and Escargot Almondine. Make sure you use the bread to soak up the sauce. Oh my, it's so good! For lunch, let's start with Steak au Poive. It's a good portion of tenderloin and it's tender. Its a good choice. Not my favorite, but don't take that for not a good dish. Stepping up the ladder, a must try dish is the Smoked Salmon Croque Monsieur. I had a hard time choosing if this was my favorite or another. The cheese, the salmon, the bread, it all works and works well together. Here is my favorite. Braised Short Ribs on Brioche. The flavor is "Wow, that's so good", the texture is "Wow, that's so good", and you'll walk away saying, I'm getting that again! I'm looking forward to another return and trying more. This is one of west bloomfields hidden gems, the kind of place you hesitate to review because you don't want to share it with anyone else. I stumbled upon it one day after being utterly fed up with the food and service at the Red Coat, After having a the burger at Bistro Le Bliss ill never go back to the Red Coat. As far as french bistros go the prices are very reasonable given the quality of the food and service. The decor is clean, quaint and relaxing. The menu is a eclectic mix with some great choices but not too much to be overwhelming like a lot of places nowadays. I look forward to trying out more of the menu in future visits. read more

West Bloomfield is somewhat of a restaurant desert, but Bistro Le Bliss is definitely worth a visit. Everything was delicious, from the bread and French onion soup to the butternut squash salad and steak frites. (Nice wine list, too!) They were very accommodating of my daughter's food allergy, which I always appreciate. The vibe is warm and cozy, especially with the snow outside, and our waitress was lovely.
