Found this place tucked away in a plaza- I was looking for a quick dinner option in Farmington Hills. The staff as super kind and was able to answer our questions regarding the food as we've not had Georgian food before. I loved everything I tried here! The garlic sauce the chicken was in was delicious, and the seasoning on the chicken gave it a pleasant spice (I am not someone who eats a lot of spice, so it was really nice for folks with a lower tolerance !) an unexpected standout was as their bread - fluffy and delicious and a perfect pairing for a sauce heavy meal. It's an authentic Georgian cuisine restaurant with food made by the native Georgian owner. I heard a lot of good reviews about this place, and now I can confirm them myself. The food was great and full of delicate flavors. It's freshly made and very delicious. We ordered soup KHarcho, kebab, satcivi, Imeretian hachapuri, and Georgian-style potatoes. My apologies for the wrong spelling :-) And the Turkish coffee is above and beyond! Exactly as it should be! I highly recommend this place, but you should be ready for something quite different from the typical Midwestern food. And the prices are restaurant-level, each dish is $15-21. The assortment is essentially mashed up balls of many different items: spinach, beans and leeks, pumpkin, eggplant; it's all quite interesting, not my favorite, not sure I would get it again. The Cvishtari balls are so hard to describe, flat like a hotteok, graininess of a polenta with some light cheese to the texture and flavoring. A very subtle flavor. The salad is unique, dressing is made with walnut. Would be even better if the tomatoes were more ripe. The Shkmeruli wasn't bad, grilled chicken chunks, light marinade flavor. I never leave reviews but I just went here with my family and had an incredible experience. The food was delicious & the service was top tier. We tried a ton of different items and it's so hard to pick a favorite - I will say the Adjarian Khachapuri may have been the fan favorite though. I can't leave out that the chicken was perfectly cooked across three different chicken dishes and the variety of sauces and flavorings it came with were all diverse and tasty in their own ways. Fantastic authentic Georgian food. Xincali is only available on Tuesday and Thursdays but this dish is worth a special trip. Loved the potatoes. Loved the Chachipuri , which is a cheese bread. The meat tray huge, very tender and well seasoned. Warm and friendly staff. Tried this restaurant for the first time last night. There were four of us and we were all new to Georgian food so had no idea what to expect. We asked for recommendations and ended up getting the feta and mozzarella khachapuri, the Georgian salad, the garlic chicken, the walnut chicken, and the cornbread patties. Everything was very good, but the absolute standout was the salad. The veggies were super fresh and crunchy and the walnut dressing... we were all stunned by it. The food is incredible but is sadly overpriced for what you get. And there are no sides included with any of the mains. Not even rice. Super weird. We got: Adjarian Khachapuri - 10/10 a mixture of feta and another cheese baked with an egg on top just fabulous. Satsivi - 9/10 The portion was small but the flavor was BIG. The walnut was bitter but awesome and the flavor was shocking. Unexpected but great! Chvishtari Balls - 8/10 I tasted no cheese but it kinda didn't matter, they were really tasty! Also, more pancakes than balls. Beef Kabob - 9/10 This was so beautiful and delicious. The only reason it's not a 10 is the same size vs cost Georgian Styled Potato - 9/10 Incredible and also tasty. I came here with six people tonight and it was an interesting experience. I did not realize that this was a traditional Georgian restaurant because on Apple Maps described it as a "soup restaurant" We walk in and there's no hostess section in the front. The hostess (who is also our waitress) is sitting at a table in the back. We sat at a nearby table. She came to us we ordered drinks. We got the kopoti, which was a juice cocktail/syrup. It was very thick and sweet. Good with a sparkling water or something. I ordered the traditional salad and it was good. Warning that it's like a peanut butter sauce on it. Needed salt or some more vinegar. My dad ordered the traditional stew (not the beef stew) and it was super good. Rice was not overcooked in it! It needed some spice so he asked for jalapeños on the side and it was delicious! One person got the dumplings and the waitress taught us how to traditionally eat them. They also needed salt. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Here's the thing: this restaurant has the opportunity to be such a good restaurant. It really nice inside. Very moody and aesthetically pleasing.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There was this really good bread that came with the soup. That should be on the table with some eggplant dip or something traditional. I was so excited to discover this restaurant in the Farmington hills area, located at the corner of 13 mile and orchard lake road. I've never had Georgian food so I was ready to try it out! Either way a great place to try on a cheat meal! The presentation of everything was wonderful. I tried the popular Satsivi which comes in a clay pot and has a chicken in walnut sauce. The flavor of it was unique and not so strong, it was mild to me. I preferred the taste of the garlic chicken my friend got at the table as that curry was more runny whereas mine was very thick, which I did not care for in the safsivi. The chicken came with a side of pita which was nice but wish they had alternate options like it coming with a rice or side salad. The dessert menu is lacking a bit but we did have a wonderful complimentary dessert that we all enjoyed. Definitely worth a visit to try out! There is a service fee on credit cards so bring cash and you can bring your own liquor/ wine if you want but the restaurant does not have a liquor license yet. read more

I had never tried Georgian food and was pleasantly surprised to find there were plenty of delicious vegetarian options! I tried the beans, vegetable stew, and khachapuri which were all phenomenal. I cannot fathom a negative thing to say about this wonderful little restaurant! One tip for those who eat meat- the dumplings are only served on weekdays! For entrees: the co-diner ordered the shkmeruli, which was chicken in a tangy, creamy garlic sauce - quite yummy. I got the Georgian style beef stew. Mine was a tiny bowl of plain kidney beans in a really water broth with a few spices and a sprinkling of onion slivers. Tasteless. And it was $18. Came with a tiny side of pickled veggies and little slice of bread. The other entree was equally unappealing and pricy. The "salad" was wide slices of tomatoes and cucumber, coated with some kind of walnut paste. 50 bucks for stuff not good enough to finish or take home. Surprise "service fee" added to the bill! The Worst Customer Service I've Ever Experienced I made a reservation for 5 people at 8:30 PM on a Wednesday evening. Later, when my kids' friends wanted to join, I called the restaurant to update the reservation to 7 people. I was told they could only accommodate a maximum of 6 per table. Fair enough--we understood the policy. Since it was a late reservation on a quiet weekday night and we were already on our way, we figured we'd still take the table for 6 and have my daughter and her friend sit at a separate table. Simple solution, right? [[HIGHLIGHT]]When we arrived, the restaurant was completely empty. Not just slow--empty.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Yet we were greeted by an incredibly rude host who flat-out refused to seat us. There was no attempt to help or offer alternatives, and the attitude was cold and dismissive from the start. It was honestly baffling. No effort to accommodate, no sense of hospitality--just a hard "no" from someone who seemed more interested in enforcing arbitrary rules than actually serving customers. I've wanted to try local Georgian food for a while and a few friends and I decided to check it out. It didn't disappoint. The service was impeccable and they even did something special for my friend's birthday. This small quaint strip mall restaurant knocked my socks off! Everything was fresh, full of texture and savory. These folks can definitely get an invite to'the cookout'. I'm not a red meat eater but their Shkmeruli chicken dish was tender and flavor infused throughout. We had a bread bowl dish called Adjarian Khachapuri that's presented with am egg yolk in the middle that you're to stir table side to cook the yolk. There's a delicious not too salty cheese in it and the bread is fresh baked firm crusted and yeasty!!! It's an entree but more akin to an appetizer for two hungry diners. My friend ordered the chakapuli soup with slow cooked lamb that they loved. We both had the Georgian style salad that not only tasted like it came right from the garden but was so uniquely dressed and flavored it could've easily been a meal in and of itself. We ordered the Georgian styled potatoes and they're similar to tender red potatoe chunks seasoned deliciously. To totally immerse ourselves in the culture we had compote which is cooked/ boiled fruit with a sweetener added. We call it fruit punch and it tastes like a fruit punch. Lol! Our waitress gave us the big eyes knowing that there's no way we could eat all that we ordered without a wheelbarrow ride to the car. Or table overflowed with tasty savory food. We both were presently full before we could spell anything we ordered. The cost was extremely reasonable with our food only $1 over the new normal of $100 for two. We had to wait 20 minutes just for a waiter to take our order, and while they did bring us water, they forgot to provide glasses-- something we had to request separately. We love Georgian cuisine and had high expectations from our first visit to At Anano's. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ambiance was very pleasant but the food itself was just okay and overpriced for its quality.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We ordered the open-faced Khachapuri which looked and tasted more like a cheese pizza rather than anything special and our traditional Georgian soups were just ok. To make matters worse, when we checked our bill, we noticed that the meet assortment we ordered was listed as $69.99 on the menu, but we were charged $79.99. When we brought this up to our waitress, she casually mentioned that there had been a price increase and they hadn't updated the physical menu yet-though apparently, the online prices were accurate. However, upon checking their online menu later, we saw that the price was still listed as $69.99. There was no apology, no offer to honor the menu price, and no prior notice about a significant price increase when we placed our order. Overall, this was a mediocre dining experience, with very poor service and misleading pricing. I would not recommend this place-spend your money elsewhere. read more

Went with visiting son who was recently in the republic of Georgia and thought I'd enjoy the food. It was delicious! We split an order of Chvishtari Balls--description was corn bread and cheese which is like calling a Wagyu steak a lump of beef. Then he enjoyed Shkmeruli, chicken in a creamy sauce, said it was tasty and tender. I had the Lobio, a spiced bean stew served with hot pickles. Both came with Georgian bread. All so good. Visited restaurant with small group of friends. We were all taken aback by the service from the minute we got in. Had to wait for water, then had to ask and wait for water glasses, and then for the waiter to take the order. We got the bill with the price for the main course $10 more than it is listed on the menu and some extra service fee. When we questioned the charges the answer was - oh yea, we actually increased the price for this dish but menu is not yet updated. Really? Why was it not mentioned when we placed the order? The waitress showed absolutely no remorse and certainly didn't offer any apology or price adjustment. The service fee was apparently for the use of credit card, yet it was included in the check before they even asked how we were planning to pay!
