Good food and great service. Mixed emotions on this one. Server and manager were very attentive. Excellent customer service. My seafood plate was a bit over cooked. Everything was just over boiled. Server came around with a huge basket and gave us a tiny piece of hard warm bread.

My friend took me here for a birthday lunch. Everyone was attentive, and the food was superb. I definitely recommend. I got the Pappardelle De Mariscos / Flat Long Noodles With Seafood. Plenty of seafood and delicious noodles.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in the area. The food and drinks are always amazing. All the tapas are amazing and this place has the best crème brûlée I've ever had!

New favorite spot in east haven , service was great everyone very respectful makes you feel welcomed. Drinks were handled professionally and the food was amazing , from the Apps/Tappas to the pasta dinner entrees . Quiet and peaceful during the day time went around 3pm

There used to be pear salad and a rare steak! That's how good it was!

I have been coming here for years and they are always great! Food is amazing and service is top notch! Staff and clientele is great, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu! I had pear salad and a rare steak and yes it was done the way I like it and look at that plate! Yes it was that good.

Driving to Boston n it was dinner time. Yelp helped me find bistro medittaranea outside new haven. 5 mins off I 95. Friendly welcoming staff n clean restaurant. Had the pear salad and filet medallions for appetizers and they were good. For entrees had the rigatoni chicken chorizo and seafood salad w mango tomato. The pasta was v good but the mango salad was so so . We topped it off w caramelized banana w ice cream. That was heavenly Will certainly stop by again when in the area. Tx

Bistro Mediterranean and Tapas Bar in East Haven quickly became a favorite after the first time I went there for dinner. The staff are friendly and welcoming, offering a choice of bar seating, high top tables, or a formal dining room. In the warmer months, they have a small outdoor patio. During my visit today, the restaurant had live music which was a nice surprise. I like the option the menu provides of having a full entrée or a bunch of small plates. They also offer a specials menu of entrees and tapas. I decided on a couple of tapas, the shaved brussels sprout salad and short rib empanadas. The brussels sprout salad was served on top of a potato cake with a light and flavorful dressing and the empanadas were hearty and delicious. This restaurant remains on my list of places to return to and would highly recommend trying it out!

Went here for a belated Valentine's Day dinner this past weekend from out of town. From the moment we walked in, we had a great feeling about the place. The service was top knotch and several waiters checked in on us. The rioja was dangerously delicious and the croquetas were our favorite. The octopus was cooked perfectly, it was just oily between that, the spinach, and potatoes all having oil on them. The desserts were so good too, perfect texture and flavor! I want to come back!

    My drink for tonight.

Food is always consistent. Service at the bar is fantastic by Miguel. Not only is he entertaining but a pleasure to get to know. Drink prices are very reasonable. The place itself has a nice ambiance about it. Bands on weekends. Definitely worth the visit.

In a display of restaurant solidarity , they recommended that we try Vinas Wine & Tapas. As it turned out, we have a NEW favorite in New Haven! We arrived a bit early and were cheerfully greeted by Mike G, our server. The atmosphere was welcoming and relatively quiet, since their musical offering does not start as early as our 5:00-7:00 PM time slot on a Tuesday. We had asked for the waiter Christian because he had been mentioned in several of the Yelp reviews, but Mike proved that the service compliments should go to everyone. First, the tapas: We enjoyed all five of the tapas we chose. The "Calamares" were lightly battered and crispy. The Vinas salad was fresh, with tomatoes, cheese, corn, and croutons. The pork belly was delicious and more meaty than expected . The oyster mushrooms were presented with onion crisps. The baked birria empanada was stuffed with brisket style beef. Each of these "courses" was a unique delight to the palate, and for me and my partner, it was completely satisfying. In keeping with the spirit of a "wine bar," Vinas offered a flight of 4 wines in 3 ounce glasses, and after hearing about our food choices and wine preferences, Mike chose the wines for us, giving us a chance to taste some less familiar offerings. We had the Felino Malbec 2024 (Argentina), which became our favorite for its full-bodied and deep flavor. Our second wine was a unique Don Abel (private label) from Wallingford CT, made by one of the relatives of the owner, specially for Vinas. This one reminded us of the local wines one might receive in a B&B in the Loire Valley in France. The final two wines were both from Chile: Reserva Carmenere 2023 and Cabernet Sauvignon Marques de Casa Concha 2022. Both were excellent wines. It was great fun to have Mike choose the wines for us, and we really enjoyed the variety that the flight offerings gave to us. Of course, we had to try a dessert, and Mike recommended the Toffee Cake. We had heard that the owner claimed that some people cried with joy after eating it. Although we restrained ourselves, we had to agree that this was an extraordinary conclusion to a fabulous meal. Overall, this was a great experience for us, and we heartily recommend Vinas Wine Bar and Tapas for a relaxing and welcoming dinner. Some reviews I had read suggested that the portions were too small for the price. I have to disagree. My partner and I love food, and this was plenty. And the price was reasonable. Including tip and tax, we spent about $75 each.

The ceviche was excellent, everything was cooked throughout by the citrus. The portion size is small for $19 and it could have used a side of bread or tortillas to soak up the delicious citrus based broth. The skewers were also excellent. They were cooked perfectly, super tender, juicy and flavorful. They cooked them with a seasoning and had a delicious chimi on top.

We live right outside the city, and we love our food, obsessively. For starters we had some salad, fried calamari, clams with chorizo in a nice broth and a special fried flourettes. All good, clams in broth was my pick for best app. For entrees we had veal chop, pork chop Milanese with salad, linguine with clams, linguine fra Diablo and 2 fish. The Diavolina was good, but I think some more spicy salami or maybe an additional spicy component would have been a good addition to the pizza. It needed just a little bit more on the flavor side. But still everything here is high quality and I would recommend! Service was excellent. We were immediately seated and had the option to sit inside or outside. I first sat inside, then we moved to a larger table outside. What I really appreciated as a new mom, was their openness and flexibility for coming in with a stroller. I was nervous to be a burden to the restaurant, but they were super accommodating. Thank you On room for improvement, I think on a hot day, having the inside space being much much cooler, than the outdoor seating (especially for newborns/really young kids/elderly) would be beneficial. Yesterday it was cool inside to start (and remember I chose to move outside), but they started to leave the front door open to allow for easy movement of staff and guests between inside and outside, which made the indoor space get warmer over time. And I totally get that for the ease of movement for staff/guests, but maybe consider keeping it super cool on the inside, so that kiddos/elderly have a cool space on a really hot day to not overheat. The vibe here is great. Chill, warm and light! Come with family and/or friends and enjoy!

Cozy and delicious. That's what I'd describe about Hachiroku. The ambiance is cozy regardless if you're sitting at the bar or in the upstairs seating. The food we ordered also had the same vibe. The menu rotates with the seasons and the freshest ingredients which we greatly appreciated and it shows in the tastes. Our seasonal selections that we ordered included Hokkaido scallop and octopus carpaccio with ikura and seaweed and monkfish karaage. The carpaccio had the perfect components to complement each other. The monkfish karaage fully came together between the lemon and the side of pickled radish as well. We also ordered house made fresh tofu and added uni. The staff mentioned "oh it's perfect, it's uni season" which made my day. It was so delicious and my husband who normally doesn't like uni even noticed how fresh it was. We really went wild ordering everything, including the mini Harasu don (teishoku which comes with rice, pickles, and we picked the salad), Black Cod grilled with Yuzu sauce, Yaki Kinoko Mushrooms, and the Kakuni Short Rib (which pairs very well with a side of rice). The most cozy and perfect dish for winter was the seasonal vegetable agedashi. Warm and had a nice variety of vegetables with a vegetable dashi broth that healed the soul. We enjoyed every dish and we noticed already when looking at the menu again there's already so many new items to try. Excellent service and suggestions from the staff (because if we didn't have them, we could've ordered the whole menu in one night). Can't wait to come back and rave about Hachiroku (and its sister stores/restaurants) to everyone!
