Came here on a Saturday at 12:45 PM. The place was quite empty, and it took a few seconds for someone to greet us, but we were then seated immediately. They have an outdoor, indoor, and bar seating area all of which are nice. There was music playing quite loudly but without asking the worker immediately turned it down. We were quickly offered drinks, and given a slice of warm bread which was great. Once ordering our meals, we were asked if we wanted some of the items served later but we opted for all together. The food then quickly came out. And I would say everything was delicious! I really enjoyed the bisque, linguine, and the bruschetta as stand outs. Will be back! read more

Haven't been here in years. Came last night with a friend. Unfortunately, I forgot to take photos of all the Tapas plates but we ordered: meatballs , empanadas-1beef, 1chicken, filet mignon medallions , crab cakes . Loved the meat Tapas but the crab was just okay. Got 2 desserts: tiramisu & profiteroles. Who doesn't love dessert ! Diana was our server. Very friendly. Actually everyone working there was friendly. It's a tapas restaurant. Just as it says. Little plates of food you can share if you want. We ordered the Brussel sprouts, shrimp , meatballs, and filet mignon. All were good and easy on the stomach. Not really filling you up so much that you're miserable. All the plates were good. The place is big. Plenty of tables. The service was good. The food came quickly. The food taste was good. Driving to Boston n it was dinner time. Yelp helped me find bistro medittaranea outside new haven. 5 mins off I 95. Friendly welcoming staff n clean restaurant. Had the pear salad and filet medallions for appetizers and they were good. For entrees had the rigatoni chicken chorizo and seafood salad w mango tomato. The staff are friendly and welcoming, offering a choice of bar seating, high top tables, or a formal dining room. In the warmer months, they have a small outdoor patio. During my visit today, the restaurant had live music which was a nice surprise. I like the option the menu provides of having a full entrée or a bunch of small plates. They also offer a specials menu of entrees and tapas. I decided on a couple of tapas, the shaved brussels sprout salad and short rib empanadas. The brussels sprout salad was served on top of a potato cake with a light and flavorful dressing and the empanadas were hearty and delicious. Went here for a belated Valentine's Day dinner this past weekend from out of town. From the moment we walked in, we had a great feeling about the place. The service was top knotch and several waiters checked in on us. The rioja was dangerously delicious and the croquetas were our favorite. The octopus was cooked perfectly, it was just oily between that, the spinach, and potatoes all having oil on them. The desserts were so good too, perfect texture and flavor! The patio in nice weather is amazing, whether it's for lunch or just drinks with friends outside on a nice day. I always come here for the seafood bisque, my absolute favorite here! The servers are friendly and funny. There was one bartender that would be a kind of rude and not the friendliest but I haven't had an interaction with him in a while. I love coming to Bistro; it never fails to disappoint. Today, I ordered the rack of lamb from the specials menu along with the Brussels sprouts salad over fried fontina cheese risotto cake, a favorite. The shaved Brussels sprouts were tart and lemony, and the risotto cake perfectly crisp. The rack of lamb was nice and juicy, served on the bone medium rare, just as ordered. It came with fluffy mashed potatoes and gravy, which were a delightful addition.. Did I mention the martinis were nice and strong and that the atmosphere is laid back yet tasteful. This is one of our favorite spots to meet up in, a quiet setting where you can talk , laugh and share life's events over good wine and amazing food. I always clean my plate when I'm here. I did order the caramelized banana but neglected to snap a photo due to me inhaling it just as it was set on the table. The wait staff provide just enough privacy to allow conversations to continue uninterrupted while still ensuring you are happy with your meal and beverage refills when necessary. This was my first time at Bistro Mediterranean & Tapas the place is beautiful, my friend and I after a fun afternoon event went to eat. I like the outside eating where you are not directly EXPOSED to the fumes outside or people walking by that a big one for me. I don't do outside because there's no separation from the streets in many places especially in New Haven. I atmosphere was great and the staff was nice. Great food the Salmon was a nice side and my shredded Brussels sprout salad OMG was delicious. Not sure if Claudio was the a owner or head In charge.
