My friend took me here for a birthday lunch. Everyone was attentive, and the food was superb. I definitely recommend. I got the Pappardelle De Mariscos / Flat Long Noodles With Seafood. Plenty of seafood and delicious noodles.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in the area. The food and drinks are always amazing. All the tapas are amazing and this place has the best crème brûlée I've ever had!

New favorite spot in east haven , service was great everyone very respectful makes you feel welcomed. Drinks were handled professionally and the food was amazing , from the Apps/Tappas to the pasta dinner entrees . Quiet and peaceful during the day time went around 3pm

There used to be pear salad and a rare steak! That's how good it was!

I have been coming here for years and they are always great! Food is amazing and service is top notch! Staff and clientele is great, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu! I had pear salad and a rare steak and yes it was done the way I like it and look at that plate! Yes it was that good.

Driving to Boston n it was dinner time. Yelp helped me find bistro medittaranea outside new haven. 5 mins off I 95. Friendly welcoming staff n clean restaurant. Had the pear salad and filet medallions for appetizers and they were good. For entrees had the rigatoni chicken chorizo and seafood salad w mango tomato. The pasta was v good but the mango salad was so so . We topped it off w caramelized banana w ice cream. That was heavenly Will certainly stop by again when in the area. Tx

Bistro Mediterranean and Tapas Bar in East Haven quickly became a favorite after the first time I went there for dinner. The staff are friendly and welcoming, offering a choice of bar seating, high top tables, or a formal dining room. In the warmer months, they have a small outdoor patio. During my visit today, the restaurant had live music which was a nice surprise. I like the option the menu provides of having a full entrée or a bunch of small plates. They also offer a specials menu of entrees and tapas. I decided on a couple of tapas, the shaved brussels sprout salad and short rib empanadas. The brussels sprout salad was served on top of a potato cake with a light and flavorful dressing and the empanadas were hearty and delicious. This restaurant remains on my list of places to return to and would highly recommend trying it out!

Went here for a belated Valentine's Day dinner this past weekend from out of town. From the moment we walked in, we had a great feeling about the place. The service was top knotch and several waiters checked in on us. The rioja was dangerously delicious and the croquetas were our favorite. The octopus was cooked perfectly, it was just oily between that, the spinach, and potatoes all having oil on them. The desserts were so good too, perfect texture and flavor! I want to come back!

    My drink for tonight.

Food is always consistent. Service at the bar is fantastic by Miguel. Not only is he entertaining but a pleasure to get to know. Drink prices are very reasonable. The place itself has a nice ambiance about it. Bands on weekends. Definitely worth the visit.

In a display of restaurant solidarity , they recommended that we try Vinas Wine & Tapas. As it turned out, we have a NEW favorite in New Haven! We arrived a bit early and were cheerfully greeted by Mike G, our server. The atmosphere was welcoming and relatively quiet, since their musical offering does not start as early as our 5:00-7:00 PM time slot on a Tuesday. We had asked for the waiter Christian because he had been mentioned in several of the Yelp reviews, but Mike proved that the service compliments should go to everyone. First, the tapas: We enjoyed all five of the tapas we chose. The "Calamares" were lightly battered and crispy. The Vinas salad was fresh, with tomatoes, cheese, corn, and croutons. The pork belly was delicious and more meaty than expected . The oyster mushrooms were presented with onion crisps. The baked birria empanada was stuffed with brisket style beef. Each of these "courses" was a unique delight to the palate, and for me and my partner, it was completely satisfying. In keeping with the spirit of a "wine bar," Vinas offered a flight of 4 wines in 3 ounce glasses, and after hearing about our food choices and wine preferences, Mike chose the wines for us, giving us a chance to taste some less familiar offerings. We had the Felino Malbec 2024 (Argentina), which became our favorite for its full-bodied and deep flavor. Our second wine was a unique Don Abel (private label) from Wallingford CT, made by one of the relatives of the owner, specially for Vinas. This one reminded us of the local wines one might receive in a B&B in the Loire Valley in France. The final two wines were both from Chile: Reserva Carmenere 2023 and Cabernet Sauvignon Marques de Casa Concha 2022. Both were excellent wines. It was great fun to have Mike choose the wines for us, and we really enjoyed the variety that the flight offerings gave to us. Of course, we had to try a dessert, and Mike recommended the Toffee Cake. We had heard that the owner claimed that some people cried with joy after eating it. Although we restrained ourselves, we had to agree that this was an extraordinary conclusion to a fabulous meal. Overall, this was a great experience for us, and we heartily recommend Vinas Wine Bar and Tapas for a relaxing and welcoming dinner. Some reviews I had read suggested that the portions were too small for the price. I have to disagree. My partner and I love food, and this was plenty. And the price was reasonable. Including tip and tax, we spent about $75 each.

The ceviche was excellent, everything was cooked throughout by the citrus. The portion size is small for $19 and it could have used a side of bread or tortillas to soak up the delicious citrus based broth. The skewers were also excellent. They were cooked perfectly, super tender, juicy and flavorful. They cooked them with a seasoning and had a delicious chimi on top.

Not like the in Manhattan , where they serve the mini martinis (always a pet peeve of mine). Service was excellent, we had Jasmin and a good support staff, a local kid. Food was better than expected. We live right outside the city, and we love our food, obsessively. For starters we had some salad, fried calamari, clams with chorizo in a nice broth and a special fried flourettes. All good, clams in broth was my pick for best app. For entrees we had veal chop, pork chop Milanese with salad, linguine with clams, linguine fra Diablo and 2 fish. Portions are huge, we should have shared. We ended with 1 desert to share a molten lava cake with some fancy ice cream. I'm not a big lava guy, but I loved the ice cream. Expresso were delicious too Price was very good. 468 plus tip, with 2 drinks each too. Place was packed and had a good vibe with a friendly atmosphere. We arrived on a Monday around peak dinner time, but there was essentially no wait (apparently uncommon according to my friend -- just a delightful consequence of dining at a college town during the summer). We split a medium pizza (1/2 elote mexican street corn and 1/2 bbq brisket), proving to be more than enough for two plus a more than ample amount of leftovers. Recently, I've gravitated toward thinner pizzas, a far cry from the typical Detroit (foccacia-esque) style pizzas I used to prefer, and BAR's pizza is akin to a flatbread yet very thin, another fallen angel to the GLP's. The undercarriage boasts a brilliant crust, almost cracker-like. However, it should be noted that the pizza is indulgent all the same. The elote pizza is quite possibly the most memorable, unique pizza I've ever had; it arrives almost crimson-red with a generous layer of corn and takis atop. It's still incredibly well balanced despite the hodgepodge of varied toppings. It's hard to pick a favorite between this and the bbq brisket though; while one is incredibly unique the other is simply sumptuous, nothing pedestrian about either of the two. The service is also impeccable, almost rivaling that of southern hospitality. I always thought Californians were friendly but something is in the air every time I visit New Haven. Incredible!
