It was our first time trying it, the kids got the quesadillas my husband and I got the sandwiches. Everything was freshly made and delicious. The milkshake with Boba was very refreshing and real fruit. I enjoyed my Thai tea.

I drove 40 min out of my way to finally try this place and it did not disappoint! Came strictly for their Friday special- shrimp pancit. My Lord! It was amazing. So light and fresh, loaded with veggies. I can't wait to go back and try their other items. Ellen, hats off to you and your husband, I hope you guys are around for a long time!

My wife and I were on the way from Sacramento to visit the Black Chasm Cavern during the lunch hour. We were happy to find a new location that had just opened, Bistro Saechao, which was nearby. We were eager to grab a quick bite to eat as there were minimal food options in the area and we did not want to deal with restaurant wait times - also we weren't wanting any greasy nor heavy food. The bistro is located inside Jackson Fitness. Upon walking in, you are immediately greeted by Bistro Saechao. The interior is small but modest with modern touches to the high ceiling. I loved that the seating area gives you a clear view of the preparation of the food. We come from a Southeast Asian and Pacific Islander background - same as the owners. When we read their article on the local newspaper, Ledger Dispatch, we were instantly intrigued to see their take on Southeast Asian & Pacific Islander food with a western twist. As an Asian person, I am very picky with Asian restaurants especially when there is a modern twist but they proved otherwise. I ordered the Pilipino Adobo sandwich w/ chicken. I've never thought about pairing coleslaw with chicken adobo, let alone in a sandwich ! The cilantro and cucumber gave the sandwich a refreshing taste and the jalapeños were the perfect hint of spice. I had a wonderful experience and will for sure come back to grab some quick eats. I would say this is now my go to spot now when in the area. Not only is the food good and quickly prepared, it's healthy + delicious and affordable! I wish I got more photos but I was too busy enjoying my sandwich. The owners are very friendly and very attentive. They seem to already have made good relations with the locals here even calling them by name as they walk in. Gotta give it to them for creating something amazing and bonding with the community they are setting their roots in. I highly recommend this place if you need a quick bite to eat in or take it to go on your way to work or any outdoor adventures. They also serve smoothies (w/ boba if you want) - perfect for this summer heat coming :) Don't sleep on this place.

Bbq beef Sammy was very very good! The service was excellent, everything was so fresh and yummy!

Small restaurant/cafe inside Jackson fitness. I have eaten here a few times and have never been disappointed. This is not a big family sit down restaurant but if you need that you could always get it to go. It's a mom and pop shop which I love to support!

Food: 10/10 Service: 10/10 Place: 10/10 Peeps: 10/10 I highly recommend this place. Good food and good people. Trust me on this, you won't regret it.

Great little cafe. I had a chicken Cobb salad and it was locally sourced, fresh and reasonably priced (for CA).

I found myself there for lunch one afternoon after about blowing all my cash at the slots. I had nothing to left in my pockets, except for some lint, an old paper clip, and my well used American Express card. Defeated, I called it quits and put a fried chicken sandwich and some tots on the plastic. After a chat with a friendly cashier, my food arrived in a few short minutes. Boy was I impressed! I didn't hit any jackpots at the slots, but I did with their tots! They gave me a mountain of those crispy, golden-brown, little nuggets. Each one was perfectly cooked and they came with plenty of ranch for dipping. The chicken sandwich was just as crispy, juicy in the middle, and full of fresh produce. The whole thing was only $13.00, so I couldn't be happier. Well, my pockets were empty, but my belly was full. Pacific Grill, you made me feel like a winner.

We were greeted right away and seated immediately, making for a great start to our visit. My wife ordered the Orange Chicken, which came with chow mein and fried rice. While both sides didn't include any meat, she said everything was flavorful and the orange chicken itself was delicious. I ordered the Sizzling Plate Combo with shrimp, beef, and chicken, served with broccoli, red and green onions in a savory black pepper sauce. It was packed with flavor and made for an excellent keto-friendly lunch. The service was friendly and efficient, the restaurant was clean and comfortable, and the prices remain very reasonable for the quality and portion sizes. This continues to be one of our go-to spots for a consistently enjoyable meal. We'll definitely be back.

The food that was supposed to be warm stayed warm and the cold rolls stayed cold. There were plenty of soy sauce packets, chop sticks, napkins, and fortune cookies provided too. Everything tasted great. The food was super fresh fresh, saucy, and flavorful. The rice was perfectly fluffy. Insanely delicious! When I ordered at around noon on a Saturday, it was super quiet and empty. I was literally the only person in there. It was rather dark in there with some subtle music playing. So there I was... sitting on an oil rig in Alaska, talking to a sheriff's deputy with over 20 years…read moreon the job. He says, "My buddies keep telling me about this place called Pho King Good." Funny part? Even he had never been there. Well, that little story stuck with me. Fast forward a few weeks. My road trip partner, Koda, and I are heading home from Disneyland, cutting through Sacramento toward Grass Valley. We roll into Auburn and BOOM there it is. Pho King Good. Now let's just take a second to appreciate that name. If you're gonna swing for the fences with a name like Pho King Good, you've set the bar about as high as Mount Everest. You don't get to be "pretty decent." You'd better make me question every bowl of pho I've ever eaten. The sign? Absolutely iconic. It practically jumps out and hollers at you from the side of the road. Easy in, easy out. Road-tripper approved. Walking inside, though, I was expecting a little more "Pho King Palace" and a little less "we've been meaning to remodel since the Clinton administration." The marble counter looked nice enough, but the place just felt like it needed a little love. If I owned a restaurant with a name that good, I'd lean into it. Give me lanterns. Give me atmosphere. Make me feel like the King just walked in. Charge me another couple bucks if you have to I wouldn't mind if the experience matched the name. Then came the menu. It felt a little like Dysfunction Junction. They had everything listed, but it wasn't organized in a way that made ordering easy. Give me sections. House Pho. Beef Pho. Chicken Pho. Special Pho. Help a hungry traveler out. The food? Solid... right down the middle of the road. After hours in the car, a hot bowl of pho hits the spot no matter what. Koda really enjoyed his chicken dish, and our vegetable egg rolls with the peanut sauce were decent, although the wrapper was just a touch on the rubbery side. The owner was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely hospitable, which always counts for something. My only real disappointment was this: with a name like Pho King Good, I expected to leave saying, "That's the best pho I've ever had." Instead, I left saying, "That was... good." And then came the plot twist. Time to pay. Cash only. So now I'm walking out to the ATM like I'm making a withdrawal for a back-alley poker game or a dispensary run. I'm standing there thinking, "Well... this tip just took a hit because I wasn't planning on paying an ATM fee for my noodles." I still don't quite understand it. You're giving change, printing receipts, running a business... we're already 95% of the way to taking cards! Overall, this wasn't about whether the food was amazing or terrible. It was about the experience. Sometimes that's the story worth telling. Would I stop again on another road trip? Probably. Because sometimes a bowl of pho, your best buddy Koda riding shotgun, and a restaurant with the greatest pun in California are all you really need. And if they ever decide to polish the place up and make it live up to that legendary name... It might just become Pho King Great.

VEGAN SIGHTING!!! I…read moredon't even know where to start my fellow vegans. This quirky, Vietnamese restaurant in the city of Auburn, CA, has by far the best vegan Banh Mi sandwich. The tofu was prepared so it did not take up the whole sandwich. The pickled radish and carrots had the perfect and balanced of sour and sweet. Of course, can't leave out the herbs of cilantro and fresh jalapinjoes. The french bread was crispy outside but still soft and hearty as you take a bite. My earth was it a 2 thumbs up!!! Then their vegan pho with veggies and tofu did not disappoint. Their veggie broth was perfectly blended and made wonderfully that I was not even thinking this was vegan. The staff was kind and informative. They were attentive and friendly. Then comes the merch. If you like a play on the word Pho, then come and check out their shirts for sale. All I have to say is "Life is Pho king good." With this said, another gem in Auburn, CA.
