I love their salt & pepper wings. This was my first time visiting their newest location. We only came here because it was a Monday (their other location is closed on Mondays), and we happened to be in Stockton and I had a serious craving for those wings. It's located downtown next to the movie theater, if you're facing the theater, it's on the right-hand side. There was a sign on the door saying cash-only and no dine-in. I had cash and we were planning to take it to-go anyway, so that part didn't bother us. But oh my goodness... the staff needs improvement. Please address it ASAP. The vibe was not welcoming at all and felt very unprofessional. I could hear screaming and shouting coming from the kitchen from one of the younger girls, who honestly looked pretty mean. She was also taking orders. Thankfully, she wasn't the one who helped us, another girl took our order. Their POS was down and they said they accepted cash or Zelle, so we paid with Zelle. The girl told me, "Show it to me when you pay it," which I did. THANK GOODNESS I paid with Zelle. (I'll get to that). We ordered two salt & pepper wings and an order of garlic noodles to-go. The noodles came out first, so we sat down to wait for the wings. I noticed there were people dining in, so I guess the "no dine-in" sign wasn't accurate. When our wings were ready, we went up to grab them. The girl who took our order loudly asked in a rude tone, "DID YOU PAY?" It was embarrassing because everyone heard, and could've been handled so differently. I told her yes and pulled up the Zelle confirmation, the SAME one she had asked me earlier to show her. She clearly forgot and didn't make a note of it. Honestly, I can't imagine if I had paid cash. I wouldn't have had a receipt or any proof. So if you go here and their machines are down again... pay with Zelle. While we were there, I noticed a mother and daughter who had been waiting even before we arrived and still had no food. When we went up to get our wings, the daughter walked up to the counter very upset and said, "Give me back my money. We've been here for an hour and we were here before them." That pretty much confirmed everything about how chaotic things were. It felt like a total zoo in there. The system for handling orders and payments definitely needs work, especially with cash transactions. The tables were also dirty and could've used some attention. Additionally, the girl screaming in the kitchen shouldn't have happened. The wings? Still delicious. But the service and organization at this location really took away from the experience. Johhny Wokker is so bomb!! This happens to be their second location with their first location being in North Stockton. It's nestled in a small plaza right in the heart of Downtown but can easily be missed. The interior is nice, clean and has a beautiful mural painted on the wall. The staff here are so friendly, greeting everyone with a smile and happy to go over the menu with first time visitors. I've been here a few times and my go-to item is the Special Combo which comes with 6-piece chicken wings, garlic chicken fried rice and a drink. The food here is cooked to order so expect to wait and expect piping hot food. The chicken wings are so yummy, always extremely crispy and flavorful. They come with a side of sweet chili sauce but you really don't need it as the chicken speaks for itself. The garlic chicken fried rice is amazing as well, the rice is always cooked to perfection and has the perfect amount of garlic and lots of big pieces of chicken throughout. The portion size is large as well, it can easily feed 2-3 people. I just love the food and atmosphere here and it's a must when I'm in the area and craving chicken wings and garlic fried rice. It's hard to find a Southeast Asian restaurant in South Stockton but this is it! I had the spicy drunken noodles. They give you large portions!!!! 5/24/25 Grand Opening Day! Social Media advertising brought us to a new southeast asian restaurant opening in Stockton and we love supporting a new local business! We arrived just as they were still getting ready for their grand opening. They were giving away themed Johnny Wokker snacks and goody bags for the first few tables that arrived to support them. We ordered the crab fried rice and the appetizer (6) fried chicken wings. The crab fried ice is loaded with lumps of crab (not skimping here) and was seasoned really well. The fried chicken wings were crispy on the outside and very tender on the inside. They serve Pepsi drink products, have a few can options of coconut juice, Thai tea and bottled water as other drink options. They were starting to get crowded at 12:30 as we headed out. We heard some popular influencers were arriving soon and wanted to head out before it got even more crowded. They are located next to a movie theatre and had a few parking garage's conveniently located near by. Molly who took our order is one of the owners that started this business with a couple of her closest friends. They are such sweet young entrepreneurs! We were celebrating FIVE birthdays today and they seated 11 of us. We spoke with them prior to coming in and we text them our order. As we walked in, we all had water waiting for us which was much appreciated. We didn't walk far... but the three or so blocks we walked worked up our appetite and that sun was hot. Saw an ad on IG ad for this place and we had to try the pad see-eww. This place serves family style so be ready to share. It was worth the trip. I'm assuming he was the owner, a guy came over a couple times to ask how everything was. He was very friendly and welcoming. The place could use some work, the aesthetic wasn't anything special. However,they are new. This just opened a couple months ago. The place smelled good, didn't smell like cleaning chemicals. The food was great and the prices matched that energy. He said this was their second location, with the first being by the Walmart on West & March Lane. We will give them more time to settle in and be back here again. Decided to try the downtown location since it's a 5min drive from my house. Slightly disappointed. Our order is always the same. Lao mein, pineapple shrimp fried rice, and 12 pcs of wings. The loa mein was so dry and barely had any flavor. The fried rice tasted burnt and again no flavor. Wings were decent, can't complain too much.
