Hubby and I had a quick holiday to escape the heat of the Valley. We wanted to have breakfast somewhere close to the square, and what would work better than this place. Yes we've been here before. We come back because the service is always good and the window seating is excellent! We both has an omelette. I considered the eggs and pancakes, but this time the omelette won. I had the Canadian bacon and cheddar. I know, it sounds so traditional, but it was very good! The iced tea was nice and fresh too. We'll be back! read more

While seeking something different, I returned to an old favorite in Downtown Prescott. Once the best seat in town for good coffee and an old town square view of Arizona's first Territorial Courthouse. This bistro now proves to be a good place for a light lunch and a late afternoon glass of wine. Since renovating into a full service Bistro, The St. Michael Caffe' now offer a complimentary full breakfast for hotel guest as well as a very worthwhile lunch and dinner menu. Service is a little confusing, while waiting for a hostess to seat us as the sign instructed, an empty window table ( along with many others) beckoned us to " go a head and be seated". A moment or two to be recognized and another pause as we requested a window seat, left us standing in anticipation of just sitting down. The server arrived with little knowledge of the wine list, however was fully schooled in the " up selling" of the guest check. Along with a House Cabernet- a wine, at least I didn't hate- the order of breaded calamari was delivered by an unknown but helpful assistant. Firm calamari is hard to find, but this was very good and not at all "rubbery" with a homemade cocktail sauce and lemon aioli. I was then surprised by the rich and creamy Fontina based Alfredo ( made with a full stick of butter .....I'm sure!) and freshly grilled chicken breast. A table mate was as satisfied with a traditional meat ed marinara. The pasta was done right and the follow-up by our server, who offered another glass of wine at the exact time we finished the first, earned a better tip and a good review. Cappuccino made in the Italian Tradition was a perfect dessert choice, as no other option was offered....so ask ....'cause I know they have it, as I did spot a nice cheesecake on a nearby table. read more

Latte was good. Food was good, I had a Caeser with chicken. I sat in the front part which has a great view of the street and all of the goings on there. Service was a little slow compared to the big city, but perfect for a relaxing meal. Servers were pleasant and checked by my table at a reasonable interval and didn't try to rush me out. If you stay at the St Michael's Hotel their wireless signal reaches the Bistro. It was good, it just wasn't fantastic so I'm going with 4 stars. read more

I had never been in here before, because Prescott has so much to offer, and I try somewhere different each time we head up to the cool pines. We were seated immediately by a nice young man, who gave me a token for the restroom. The restroom was kind of a nightmare experience, when I opened the door, I smashed into a woman that was standing behind the door, the only available waiting space if the stalls are full. Done in the restroom I went back to our table and checked out the menu. As I've said before I'm rather picky, so most of the choices were a LITTLE BIT gourmet for me, so as usual I had to make my meal custom. I had a Mesquite rubbed chicken rub without tomato or onion and they added bacon. It had pepper jack cheese and chipotle asiago mayonnaise...it was wonderful. My friend ordered the halibut fish and chips, which they told her wasn't halibut this day, but mahi mahi. She had a wonderful meal. We were both really pleased with the food. During our meal our neighboring table laughingly told us that our waiter had tried to charge them for our meals, and since we hadn't even been on a date yet, they had declined. We got a good laugh and they left. When our waiter brought us our tab, I told him we were so grateful that he'd given our bill to the neighboring couple. He was embarrassed, and he collapsed on to the seat next to my friend. He was so cute, and this 50 year old woman shouldn't have teased him, but it was so worth it. Went to Bistro St. Michael this weekend for the first time and was a bit dissapointed. I ordered the fish and chips and was a bit suprised by the small portion that I received. The french fries were soggy and the fish was a bit sketchy as far as the cut of meat goes. The best thing that I ate had to be the bread that was brought out when we first sat down. It was amazing!!! Not sure that I would come back to St. Michael, probably would try other options first. read more

This is the absolute worst excuse I've ever seen for even a Street Bistro takes you 30 minutes to even get one simple bar drink from the stupid guy that wants to pretend like he's a moron manager then 30 minutes after that you might get the salad you ordered heaven forbid you should ever ordered entree from this place you'll get out of there inside four hours you be ready for dinner again I wouldn't recommend anyone ever eating at this place even if you are on Skid Row read more

My favorite place in Prescott for breakfast, and I eat there whenever I'm in town. The wait staff is always friendly and the service has always been attentive. The Tuscan Eggs Benedict served on Mother's Day were the best. Eggs poached just right; Hollandaise tasted fresh and the plate was served at just the right temperature. Service was good. My eggs were good but unremarkable, my wife waited for breakfast time to end and ordered a burger, it was a pretty poor excuse for a burger. The window seating lets you people watch. This place could be and should be much better considering its history and perfect location. People are wowed by the charm of this beautiful old hotel and bistro; if you expect the food to match the setting you're going to be disappointed. There are better places in Prescott. read more

This place is a joke and the owners should be ashamed because they are running one of Prescott's icon and most historic establishments into the ground and it is currently an embarrassment to our community. The service was slow and the food was served cold and of very average quality. I had to wait 15 minutes to get a latte because the server was not allowed to make it and they had to wait until their "manager" could return to make it. What a joke. Wow, you would never think such dinner deliciousness would come out of a really nice coffee shop-type atmosphere, but I am here to tell you that all four of us enjoyed our meals so much we hardly spoke.. I had the wild salmon with a small arugula salad and the best roasted potatoes I've ever had. The salmon had a wonderful sauce that enhanced it tremendously. My girlfriend had the Cajun Chicken on a bed of quinoa, black beans, corn, etc. with crispy grilled zucchini. Our guys had fish and chips, and a flat iron steak, which were both wonderful entrees. My husband and I moved to Prescott about four months ago and are attempting to sample all of the restaurants, primarily for breakfast or lunch. Today we stopped at Bistro St. Michael and absolutely loved everything about it. The staff was friendly and quick to offer suggestions on the menu. We chose a cup of soup and mentioned we would be sharing the Rueben sandwich. Instead of just bringing an extra plate, the sandwich was served on two individual plates, including an equal portion of hot, crisp French fries. Our view of the courthouse from a table by the window was fun for people watching while we enjoyed our meal. We will definitely be repeat customers as we continue to learn about our new home town. read more

Well things change really fast in this place. The food is ok but the service is getting worse. They make their salsa from can tomato sauce. Um, what? Yuk. They don't even have a stove or oven. I've seen this restaurant a 1000 times, and never stopped in, so last night I decided to give it a whirl. Unbeknownst to me, the place just recently started serving dinner, and wow, is it PHENOMENAL! According to our waitress, they've had a 6 month soft-opening of dinner to perfect their dishes, and I would say they accomplished that! I enjoyed the roast chicken, which was tender, flavorful, and had just the right crispness on the outside. I was amazed at how yummy the carrot puree the chicken was served on tasted! And the parsnips, caramelized and delicious! My dinner partner (a friend in from out of town), enjoyed they Mahi Mahi over mushroom parmesan risotta and seemed quite satisfied. And the best part - they had a great little menu for the kiddos. From the website, I wasn't sure they had a kids menu, but they did and all three kids enjoyed their meal. Oh, and as an added bonus, the restaurant looks out on Courthouse Square, and on Tuesday nights it's the summer concert series. While we couldn't hear the band, we enjoyed people watching - especially the kids dancing in front of the stage. Bistro St. Michael is a new favorite for me! I'll be back! read more

Wanted to have lunch Saturday at Bistro St. Michael arriving at 11:45. We were shown to a table and given breakfast menus. When we were able to get someone's attention and told them that we wanted lunch we were informed that they don't serve lunch until 12:00. We then asked if we could look at their lunch menu and she said, "Well I might be able to dig up one for you but we don't have lunch until noon." Really??? In less than 15 minutes you will have to "dig them up" for the lunch crowd. She could have said, "Sure! And would you like to order drinks while you look at the menu?" This is the second time we have tried to eat there, the first time being 3 yrs. ago and after we were seated and no one came to take our order after close to 15 min. we left. This place has become our favorite sunday breakfast stop. If possible we like the bar area. The food is spot on and the service is great. All the servers are good but we enjoy Leslie's attitude. So this is my first yelp review here it goes. My husband and I heard that the breakfast here I amazing and the service is quick and friendly. Well...............my waitress acted as if we where an inconvenience to her day . She was very RUDE and SNOTTY. My husband asked her how the cornbeef was prepared she was very short with her description in the middle of us speaking to her she flung her long curly blond hair around, starting demanding the people get out of her area and go wait outside!!!!!!! Then she went on to her Co-worker and was so down grading and disrespectful she should be ashamed of how she treats people at this point we just wanted to leave we where so embarrassed . This is a great downtown restaurant! The service is fast and personable. They have a scratch kitchen, which is a rare gem! The food is always on par. I would suggest going in for happy hour. They have good deals on drinks and appetizers, and the specialty drinks are delicious!! :) read more

Breakfast with out of town friends on Monday 5/13/2013. The food was excellent, but service was awful. We had to ask for coffee to start and then for a refill. At which time I am sure the blond waitress heard me complain...after that no service, bill was delivered without a word and retrieved in the same fashion. I wish I lived closer, but I'd probably be the size of a house if were able to eat here more often. I enjoyed one of the best breakfasts I'd ever eaten here last weekend. Homemade corned beef, delicious multi-grain toast (that actually tasted like multi-grain and not just brown wonder bread), a perfect bowl of perfectly fresh fruit - and AMARETTO FRENCH TOAST??? Are you KIDDING me??!! (OK, the last bit wasn't included in my breafast entree, but the waitress was kind enough to get us a half-order to try.) The service was terrific and I left feeling like I couldn't wait to come back - all for around 10 bucks. Nothing not to love! read more

Great service. Both me and wife had burgers. Had hand cut fries with seasoning I loved them wife found them a little to spicy. My burger was perfect some kind of southwest burger. The building is historical. Not very toddler/stroller friendly. Old fashioned elevator was fun. House keeping needs more supervision. They didn't come to clean the room once and we stayed for 2 nights. NO clean towels on the last day. The front desk handed me 3 after requesting that housekeeping come to the room. We were out of the room for hours at a time, so its not like they wouldn't have a chance to come in. On the last day, someone from housekeeping even asked me to my face if we wanted service, and I said yes please. she stated that it would be awhile b/c we were the only left on the 3rd floor. We left a day early and the Inn Keeper didn't ask us how our stay was, or if there was a reason why we left a day early, she simply stated, "okay, let me get you a receipt". Food was good, we appreicated the $5 voucher. We will not be staying at the St. Michael again. read more

We always have breakfast here when we stay at the Hassayampa. A bit hit or miss on the servers... some pretty perky others a bit brusque, rushed and not really customer focused, but the food it always good. Love the quiche and eggs benedict. My kids love their pancakes, but they are plate sized. Usually crowded, but have never had to wait more than five minutes. read more

Alana was literally the best server ever. I had an upset stomach, and she came over and asked how I was feeling because I looked really sick. Immediately, she knew what to do. I had the opportunity to enjoy Bistro St. Michael last weekend for breakfast, lunch and dinner. All three meals were very well prepared and the service was good. Breakfast came with our stay at the St. Michael Hotel but it far surpassed what is offered in some hotels. Two eggs, choice of bacon, sausage or ham, potatoes and toast, along with a never-ending cup of coffee got our day started off on the right note. For lunch my husband had a BLT and I had the tomato artichoke bisque and both were very good. Dinner started with the most amazing calamari. We were hesitant to order it because calamari is either very good or horrible. This was cooked to perfection; lightly breaded and tender. Not a chewy piece on the plate. Steak, salad, grilled asparagus and mashed potatoes were the main course. All were well prepared. Two reasons I didn't give 5 stars for our visit: first, we ordered a glass of wine to go with our steak and it didn't arrive till we were nearly finished eating. Second, we ordered the chocolate ganache for desert and it was so hard set we could barely cut through it. The flavor was ok but it was a challenge. Kudos to Nick and Hailey for their delightful service throughout our visit. read more
