We have been eating at Bistro Teresa for a number of years. The food is always consistent and excellent. Marisol keeps her kitchen running like a top while Laura orchestrates the front of the house with warmth and efficiency. Always greeting us with a hug. The new location is stunning, modern and comfortable with a spectacular view of the bay. Don't miss this beautiful and delicious experience when you are in Puerto Vallarta.

Three years later - it is still a gem. By far our favorite restaurant in PV! We have tried all the top 10 in PV and Bistro Teresa is our favorite. We had a family dinner and the food was superb! The chile relleno was to die for as was every plate that we ordered Great restaurant and a very reasonable price for an upscale restaurant. Highly recommend it!!

    Cheese overload!

Bistro Teresa was our last night of vacation dinner. We'd been to their previous location about 4 years ago and loved it. I have to say I missed the quaintness and warmth of the old place, the new space is modern and very white ; ) However, we probably wouldn't have gotten there if they hadn't moved closer to town since we were staying up north this time. We went to dinner already knowing what we'd order but, when I saw the cheese plate on the menu I realized I'd had a serious lack of queso all week and my husband never says no to cheese so, we started with that. OMG there were 6 types and the portions were more generous than what we'd get at home. We were in trouble... On to the Fig and Pear salad for me and Lobster Bisque for my husband. He was disappointed there wasn't any discernable lobster in his soup but it was tasty. If I'd known the salad had brie we probably wouldn't have had the cheese platter to start and would have been a little more comfortable after dinner! For entrees it was seafood stuffed poblano for me and shrimp ravioli with blue cheese for him. Both were delicious but, my honey was having a little richness overload. Needless to say, we skipped dessert. Which is a shame because after many sweet disappointments that week it probably would have been our best one!

BEWARE: They do not honor their 2x1 Happy Hour drink pricing and will charge you full price for your drinks.

My family and I have been going to Bistro Teresa for years and used to recommend them to others but never again. The food is good but way overpriced and definitely not worth the service you get. We left there feeling deceived and basically called a liar by the owner. We use to enjoy going to their happy hour where their pricey drinks were half off and then we would dine with them afterwards (appetizers, entrees, deserts, and additional full priced drinks - we have spent a lot of money there over the years). When we made our dinner reservation we inquired about their happy hour and were told the times for it. There is even a large sign out front advertising it and that it includes vodka, gin, tequila, etc. When we arrived early for our reservation, we checked in and said we were there for happy hour first with the host and then with our waiter. We ordered our drinks and then went to dinner. When the bill arrived, all of our drinks during happy hour were full priced. Apparently the vodka and tequila drinks we ordered weren't included in happy hour. However, none of the waiters or bartenders told us that even though they knew we were there for happy hour, nor were these happy hour drink exclusions stated anywhere on the menus or signage, and it wasn't what we had experienced any of the other times when we visited Bistro Teresa as all drinks were always half off for happy hour. Our waiter said he would ask the owner and the owner said this was NEVER a promotion and the sign out front is clearly labeled (it wasn't - see included pic) so therefore we must pay full price. We weren't upset about paying full price, we were upset that the owner called us a liar (when the owner was the one mistaken/lying here as this was a change from every other time we visited there) and that they are using deceptive advertising practices. Considering the restaurant was only about 25% filled you would have thought they might be more appreciative of the business they did have. I did enjoy their food, but the food and drinks are overpriced. In fact this is the most expensive restaurant we have been to in Puerto Vallarta (and we have visited a lot of restaurants here). You can find as good if not better at other local restaurants for a fraction of the price where you get treated like family, not like liars as Bistro Teresa did.

Beautiful ambiance, great views and attentive service. Food was flavorful, but if we return we will ask the chef to ease off the salt.

We have had some amazing meals non our trip to PV this year. None compare to the dinner last night at Bistro Teresa! The view was stunning from this perfect location. The service was outstanding. Everything we wanted was brought with such attention to detail. The food was divine such interesting parings making it one of a kind! Thank you for a wonderful meal and memories to make the trip even better!

They visit often and stated that it was one of their favorites. I had the Fruit of the Sea. It was absolutely delicious and served in a light white sauce with garlic bread. The concierge at my hotel suggested that, for a quick bite, I walk to a restaurant that he marked on my map. It was only three minutes away. That restaurant was shuttered and closed, despite it being only 8pm on a Saturday. So I went next door and found Chenando's. The prices looked a little steep, but I was hungry and ready just wanted some soup, which was on the appetizer menu. Despite the heat, I love soup and find that soup in Mexico has never let me down. I went in and was seated immediately with a smile. I only brought a little cash with me, because even though this area feels very safe, I was a solo lady with intermediate Spanish, at best, at night, in a new place. This place did not take credit, much like almost every other place in Puerto Vallarta. I asked if they could make the tortilla soup with chicken, since I wanted to get at least a little protein, and the waiter happily obliged. You guys. Holy shit. I come to Mexico at least three times a year, trying out different cities. This might have been the best meal I've had in all of those trips. It was easily the best tortilla soup of my life. The chunks of avocado were so soft and had absorbed the flavor of the soup. They melted like butter in my mouth. THEN there was the bread! I don't even know what it was. Sort of like Hawaiian rolls, but toasted. Freaking awesome. If I wasn't so full from the soup, I would have stuffed all three giant pieces in my face. I could only do one. They asked how it was and I announced that this was the most delicious soup of my life. The two other tables had couples dining who enthusiastically agreed that the food here is next level. One couple from the Netherlands said they come here three times a year. From the Netherlands. To eat here, specifically. Yeah, I could see that. Altogether, my bill was 155 pesos, just under $9 USD. Hell yeah. They even gave me chocolate covered raisins with my bill.

It's thicker, more cheesy than what I've ever had before and very delicious. We paired that with the prime rib tacos, it was a plate stacked with meat and 4 tortillas under it, more than we could eat. The seasoning was great, it was diced so small that it was easy to eat. We ordered the ribeye, al pastor, and chorizo tacos. The ribeye had so much fat that we had to pick through it just to eat it. The al pastor was very average - I've had much better at plenty of other taco spots. The biggest disappointment was the chorizo. It wasn't traditional chorizo at all; it looked and tasted more like chopped-up hot dogs. We barely touched it because it wasn't what we ordered expecting, and it just wasn't good. The presentation also wasn't appealing. The meat was simply piled on top of two tortillas, making everything messy and difficult to eat. They were also pretty stingy with the grilled jalapeños. The salsas didn't do the food any favors either. None of them really stood out, and the green guacamole salsa actually tasted like it had gone bad, so we stopped eating it. Service was attentive, but almost too attentive. Staff kept coming by every few minutes to ask if we were finished or if we needed anything. While I appreciate good service, it made us feel like we were being rushed through our meal instead of being able to enjoy it at our own pace. Overall, I don't understand the high ratings based on our experience. With so many amazing taco spots in Puerto Vallarta, this one didn't come close to meeting the hype. Unfortunately, we won't be coming back.

It's truly a dreamscape, especially as the sun begins its descent, painting the sky with the most incredible colors.
