A small patio restaurant in the hotel Casa Cupula. We went for brunch on Sunday (10am-2pm, contrary to what Yelp says), which was an all-you-can-eat buffet. The selection was fairly small but good. The savory options included hard-boiled eggs tossed in a red sauce, sauteed mushrooms, omelette with spinach and cheese, bacon, roasted potatoes, chilaquiles with red or green sauce, and a hotdog in sauce dish. The sweet options included sliced watermelon and guava, bananas, chocolate cake, churro donuts, muffins, a lighter colored ?pound or ?lemon cake (didn't sample myself), yogurt, and cereal. There were also a number of juice options for beverages including a delicious blended green juice. The food was very good and filling; the chilaquiles sauces were especially good with deep, complex flavors. The chocolate cake was very moist and lovely. The green juice was to die for, pleasantly sweet and tangy. I could sit there all day drinking that and pretending I'm being healthy. Per person it came to $359 pesos, very reasonable especially with the excellent service and patio view of the lush greenery and the pool. We accidentally stumbled in here intending to go to Taste and have their buffet; this was just a touch more expensive but a great find nonetheless. read more

Bistro Teresa was our last night of vacation dinner. We'd been to their previous location about 4 years ago and loved it. I have to say I missed the quaintness and warmth of the old place, the new space is modern and very white ; ) However, we probably wouldn't have gotten there if they hadn't moved closer to town since we were staying up north this time. We went to dinner already knowing what we'd order but, when I saw the cheese plate on the menu I realized I'd had a serious lack of queso all week and my husband never says no to cheese so, we started with that. OMG there were 6 types and the portions were more generous than what we'd get at home. We were in trouble... On to the Fig and Pear salad for me and Lobster Bisque for my husband. He was disappointed there wasn't any discernable lobster in his soup but it was tasty. If I'd known the salad had brie we probably wouldn't have had the cheese platter to start and would have been a little more comfortable after dinner! For entrees it was seafood stuffed poblano for me and shrimp ravioli with blue cheese for him. Both were delicious but, my honey was having a little richness overload. Needless to say, we skipped dessert. Which is a shame because after many sweet disappointments that week it probably would have been our best one! read more

My family and I have been going to Bistro Teresa for years and used to recommend them to others but never again. The food is good but way overpriced and definitely not worth the service you get. We left there feeling deceived and basically called a liar by the owner. We use to enjoy going to their happy hour where their pricey drinks were half off and then we would dine with them afterwards (appetizers, entrees, deserts, and additional full priced drinks - we have spent a lot of money there over the years). When we made our dinner reservation we inquired about their happy hour and were told the times for it. There is even a large sign out front advertising it and that it includes vodka, gin, tequila, etc. When we arrived early for our reservation, we checked in and said we were there for happy hour first with the host and then with our waiter. We ordered our drinks and then went to dinner. When the bill arrived, all of our drinks during happy hour were full priced. Apparently the vodka and tequila drinks we ordered weren't included in happy hour. However, none of the waiters or bartenders told us that even though they knew we were there for happy hour, nor were these happy hour drink exclusions stated anywhere on the menus or signage, and it wasn't what we had experienced any of the other times when we visited Bistro Teresa as all drinks were always half off for happy hour. Our waiter said he would ask the owner and the owner said this was NEVER a promotion and the sign out front is clearly labeled (it wasn't - see included pic) so therefore we must pay full price. We weren't upset about paying full price, we were upset that the owner called us a liar (when the owner was the one mistaken/lying here as this was a change from every other time we visited there) and that they are using deceptive advertising practices. Considering the restaurant was only about 25% filled you would have thought they might be more appreciative of the business they did have. I did enjoy their food, but the food and drinks are overpriced. In fact this is the most expensive restaurant we have been to in Puerto Vallarta (and we have visited a lot of restaurants here). You can find as good if not better at other local restaurants for a fraction of the price where you get treated like family, not like liars as Bistro Teresa did. read more

I don't know where Yelp got its information, but Bistro Teresa is definitely NOT closed! It makes me angry that Yelp would post such egregiously wrong information without verification. Bistro Teresa is one of my absolute favorite restaurants in Puerto Vallarta. Service is impeccable. The food quality is excellent. Portions are seasonably sized and priced. The rooftop view is one of the best in the city. You can check out a more accurate review of Bistro Teresa on Trip Advisor, which must do a better job of screening erroneous and intentionally misleading posts. read more

Truly an enchanted evening! We moved to Puerto Vallarta in January 2016. Every week we try a new restaurant. Bistro Teresa did not disappoint! Roof top dining with spectacular views of the bay and the city, especially the church! The margarita's were wonderful, with happy hour till 8pm. The only thing that was better than the food was the service. Our server Antonio was informative and attentive. But, it was really all the staff. They spoiled us! Courses were cleared and the table reset with hardly any notice. Very well trained, great English, and very classy! We started with the goat cheese salad and octopus (pulpo) ceviche tostados. Fresh and perfectly seasoned. Even the dinner bread was fresh warm and delicious. For our mains I had the Ahi Tuna, cooked to perfection, lightly seared Med Rare, with delicious peanut drizzle. My husband had the Shrimp & Ravioli with bleu cheese sauce. The shrimp were huge, as were the ravioli, all perfectly prepared. We would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting or living in Puerto Vallarta. Fine dining & elegance with beautiful views. read more

Just stopped in for appetizers and drinks, but it was fantastic. The scallops were excellent; large and tender with a tasty sauce. Overlooks the plaza, and it was very fun to sit by the window and watch the concert going on in the plaza below, which happens every Sunday night, I believe. read more

With their wonderfully starched white linens and relaxed room. The staff again was attentive, informative and professional. The food was outstanding - we started with the beef carpaccio and the hamachi. Followed by entrées of beef filet, salmon with beurre blanc, shrimp with blue cheese ravioli. We recently had a large family gathering in PV and celebrated my son's 20th birthday with dinner at Bistro Teresa. The staff was terrific as was the food. The greeting by the owner and seating near the north side with the incredible view made for a memorable occasion. With a large party, the variety of items ordered can get complex. We all enjoy sharing tastes - especially when the food is so well prepared. The flavors that the chef combined in each dish are a treat for the senses and the menu made it difficult to zero in on a specific item. Luck for family sharing! Service was very attentive and the staff was fluent in English which helped many of us. Their knowledge and recommendations were precise and accurate. The location in town close to the beach and the main square gave us an excellent spot from which to take an after dinner stroll. We look forward to a return! read more

Just had a wonderful meal at Bistro Teresa! We ordered the filet and the seafood lasagna! Excellent choices. The filet was cooked to perfection and the scallops, shrimp and fish that was accompanied by lasagna was succulent and delicious. This is our last night in PVR and I am glad we ended our vacation here! We came late in the evening, however the views were spectacular. We actually got to see fireworks!! Yaaay! Our (former) favorite restaurant and family favorite lost a set of loyal customers tonight. They advertise specials with loads of ambiguity and then tell their customers that their choices were not part of the specials they came early for, before their stated reservation. A reservation we made a point to make in person. We value relationships as much as quality of food and service when we dine. 2 for 1 happy hour shouldn't need a legal review. Change the goal posts of your specials, which are a town standard and then call your customers liars after they order and are brought the check. We have made a point to be loyal customers to the Bistro for 4 years. Not anymore. While the food is good, there is food just as good where you are treated better and at a much lower price, with better views. Sometimes places forget what made them successful and who happily helped along the way. The Bistro certainly doesn't owe us anything and we certainly won't owe them anything either as we spend our time and money elsewhere. read more

Beautiful setting. Solicitous wait staff. Inflexible kitchen staff and obnoxious hostess. Asked for their signature shrimp and ravioli dish with the sauce on the side. Waiter said the kitchen could not do it. I wasn't being picky, I have a health issue that makes me limit cheese and cream sauces. Ordered it anyways. It was delicious after laboriously scraping sauce off the shrimp and ravioli. As a good cook, I can say this dish could have been easily prepared with a minimum of sauce or sauce on the side. Bread was thin slices and rather stale. Extra charge for the ice cream that the waiter offered us for the chocolate cake. After paying our bill, the hostess came to the table to inquire about our meal. I again explained about the sauce issue. Her attitude was too bad...that is how it is here. Well, Bistro Teresa, as frequent visitors to PV, we are often asked for our opinion, especially about new dining venues. Sorry, you flunked customer service and satisfaction here. read more

While on vacation in PVR, one of the couples staying at our resort raved about their experience at Bistro Teresa so naturally we made reservations for that night. We stayed in the marina and grabbed a cab to downtown early to check out the sights for a bit before dinner. About an hour before our reservation time, we headed up to the restaurant to enjoy happy hour on the gorgeous balcony. I ordered a cosmopolitan and my husband a margarita while we enjoyed the sights. His margarita was the best either of us had tasted during our stay so I ordered one for my second drink just before we were seated. We started out with the ahi tartare the asparagus salad - both were killer. We shared the tomahawk steak with grilled vegetables for dinner - it was very good as well. The two sauces they served with the steak were an onion dip and what looked like a pepper relish. I opted for a little of the onion dip but otherwise the meat was delicious on its own - not as good at Sonora Grill however. For dessert, I ordered a Mexican coffee which came with a full on pyrotechnic show in preparing it table side. It was delicious and my husband was jealous so then he ordered one too. He also had the butterscotch crepe which looked good but I was too focused on my Mexican coffee to partake. Overall, beautiful views, great service, good food and worth the journey into downtown PVR. read more

Lovely view of the bay and old town, nice dining room with very attentive wait staff in a central location. That said the only thing that was good was the dinner salad,a house salad with what appeared to be a honey dejon dressing. The entrees were uninspired, tacos with rib eye steak that came with 3 corn tortillas that were not fresh (I had to assemble the tacos) and a snapper fillet that was just OKAY. The bill came to approximately 1000 pasos not including a tip and we did not order alcohol. read more
