10 years in Wichita, and this place has been out BBQ choice for almost 2 years. The BBQ is great and we are never disappointed, but we typically go on Friday or Saturday for the Prime Rib special. Pulled pork was fantastic. Ribs and sausage links were great too but the pork was the best. The sausage has a bit of a kick to it but not too much. Potato salad had a little too much mayo for my taste but was solid nonetheless. I also had the baked beans which we're really good, I think they had either bits of pulled pork or bacon in them. The food was delicious and a lot of it for the price. The sever was excellent and very attentive. One word of warning or excitement is their extra spicy sauce. I eat the hottest sauces at all the other wing places in town and never have an issue. When I ordered the extra spicy on the wings I didn't think anything of it. I ate 3 of the 5 that I ordered before the heat hit. I don't think I've ever had a sauce that had a delay built in but this one does. Very tasty and messy but has a big burn, tears etc... Pretty good BBQ. I've been twice, had the chicken fried steak and various other BBQ meat. Doesn't offer mac and cheese as a side, which I find unusual for a BBQ place. Also no draft beer. read more

This place is awesome. Had the pulled pork sandwich with pasta side dish. You can control how much barbeque sauce to put on your food, and the sauce is absolutely delicious. I had heard about this place from some coworkers and decided to check it out over the weekend since I am a fan of bbq food. I can honestly say though that I was thoroughly disappointed by both the quality of the food and the customer service. The food was very salty and the chicken wings are very very sweet. I think Billy Sims BBQ and Dickey's are far better tasting than this place. The waiters are also very rude and when it came time for the check, they disappeared. This place has the Best BBQ in town. Everything is homemade. Nothing out of a box or tub. The burnt ends are fabulous on Thursdays. I order the pulled pork sandwich to go with the side choice of French fries. I live about 5 mins from Bite Me BBQ. My fries were soggy not even the least bit crispy. The pulled pork was very bland. It did not really have any flavor and I did not care for their sauce. My boyfriend got the three meat dinner. He said the turkey was good but the brisket was bland. However, the pasta salad and baked beans were really delicious. I don't think we will be returning here though. read more

The food here is pretty good, but unfortunately we had quite a poor dining experience here. There was a mixup in the ordering and the price difference between the two items in question was not communicated effectively to my party. All this would have been fine had it been handled by management better, but to be frank she was quite rude and haggled over a few dollars when the situation was the result of a mixup. Another member of my party was double charged for his meal and this added to further delay of our leaving. Hopefully this is an isolated instance but I can't say that I will be returning to this establishment in the foreseeable future. read more

In town with friends for the KU NCAA tournament game. Was very impressed with this place. The self serve cold bar was amazing, some of the best pickles ever. 3 stars = AOK. Chopped brisket is the clear standout. It was excellent. Pulled pork, potato salad -- both average, and pork didn't have much of a smoked or BBQ quality to it. Ripple chips -- sounded interesting, and they were nice and crisp, but nothing that made us want to finish the whole order. Maybe some kind of dip is needed? Dunno. Right now they're just like a thicker version of commercial Ruffles potato chips, and to be honest they could use a little more salt. read more

Really top notch bbq. I'm from KC and this place would compete with the best there. Had the Thursday burnt end special this time. This is the way they are supposed to be. Nice char on the outside and juicy and tender inside. Not the chopped up brisket some places pass off. Other meats I've had were just as tasty. Generous sides, try the meaty beans. Best BBQ in the area. Delicious spare ribs and brisket, corn on the cob could have been seasoned a little more but was still served hot and was enjoyable. I only got french fries because entrees come with 2 side and was shocked at how great even the fries were. The best part about the entire experience however was the service. I do not recall the waitresses name but was very helpful, attentive and extremely polite. Very nice, clean family restaurant with a great vibe in a good downtown location. Not sure how the BBQ was. We could not get any service and there were maybe 10 other customers in the restaurant at the time. We were told this place was the best in town but upon our arrival the hostess instructed us that "to-go orders" would be taken at the bar. We waited for 10 minutes for some service and did not get a single hello or any kind of hospitality. the hostess was the one who ended up bringing our menus. we decided this wasn't the place to spend our money and left. I couldn't be more impressed. It is a big loud fun place to eat but the real story is the ribs. Huge slab of ribs with an incredible real (Not added) smoke flavor. One of the best meals for such a low price I've had. I was so full I didn't get over to the free "sides " bar. My buddy had the burnt ends and almost didn't stop to take a breath until he was so full he was going to be sick. We both ate for less than 15 bucks. This place was phenomenal!!! My husband and I stopped while on a road trip and it was great! We got there and were seated right away, our food came quickly and our waitress was only on her second day but did an excellent job! If she didn't know the answer to a question she asked and got back to you right away! Our food was really good as well to me there is nothing like my Dads BBQ but for a restaurant it was good! I it the pulled pork sandwhich, you could tell it was fresh and could apply whatever sauce you wanted! My husband ordered slices brisket sandwhich which tasted fresh and had good flavor, you could tell the Texas toast was actually made there. The spicy BBQ sauce is not HOT, but has a kick. The sauces were flavorful and overall good! They also have a little condiment bar with pickles, olives and my fave pickled okra!!
