My experience here was an excellent one! I had a pulled pork sandwich along with some coleslaw and it was too delicious for words. (Don't mind the huge cup of ranch in the photo... I'm a ranch guy lol) The vibes of the restaurant is like a dive bar as if it's off of a main highway and I love it! The sweet young lady that really made my experience one to remember is Briana. Not only was she nice and friendly but she really made sure me and my colleague were checked in on and well taken care of. I honestly felt right at home here, being from Southern California, because of Briana so thank you so much really. I sadly don't have the privilege to have lunch at this great establishment so I really wish this gem was in town. If I could give 0 stars, I would. We made a reservation for 11 for 9 people because we were meeting in town for Mother's Day. We were finally seated in 2 different tables at 11:30. We explained we wanted to sit together since we had driven to see one another and the hostess said we "needed to be happy with where we were." My daughter asked if we could move 2 tables behind us together and she said "we aren't allowed to move tables," even though there were 4 sets in the restaurant moved. I asked the waitress if something could be done and she left. An older male was talking to the tall, red-headed hostess whose name I believe was Gemma, and she loudly said "she's being a bitch" about my daughter. A woman seated nearly by said are you kidding me? It's easy enough to do what they're asking!" The manager didn't say a word except to tell me he was "working on moving us." I said "what you should be working on is reprimanding or firing someone in your employment who loudly refers to a customer as a bitch. That's unacceptable." He said I'll try and take care of it, said something to the girl, she threw down what was in her hand and quite literally STOMPED off. He clearly has absolutely no respect from, or control over, his employees. As I was coming back from the buffet, she shoved a chair into a table in front of me, blocking me. She was aggressive and rude the entire time and should've immediately been sent home or fired. We will never be back. read more

Have not had them for quite a while. Picked up brisket samdwhich. Ordered with lean and moist brisket. Major disappointment. No way this was anything but lean. No flavor at all. Extremely dry and a little chewy. The 1 sauce was not enough to help. Even took it off the bun. Beats listed on receipt. Maybe all they saw was lean.Not busy at 1:40. I've seen it there, hidden in plain sight. I finally decided to go. Burgers, fries, little else. Not everyone needs a 5 page menu to get the job done. The menu offers a basic burger, options to add patties, then cheese, then everything under the sun to add. Fries are cut on the premises. The pallet of bags of peanuts caught my eye. You can take a paper sack full home with your order. Impressive! Mom and I ordered to go. We looked around at the sparse decor. They are here to make a good burger, not spend money on decor. Fair enough. The food was good. The fries plentiful, but nothing to write home about. The prices were a bit steep, which led me to believe the price of those free peanuts had been incorporated into the total burger price. Once upon a time this was the premium Two Brothers restaurant in Wichita. It had a great buffet with a variety of smoked meats and sides. Now the buffet is only on the weekend for a price of $22/person. The remaining salad buffet had dark spoiled pieces of lettuce in the lettuce bowl and broccoli with brown ends. The "smoked" Turkey had no smoked flavor or color. The burgers were okay. The sides were okay at best. Service was generally weak - Poor service skills and a lot of ignoring while servers gathered at the bar. We've enjoyed many family meals at this restaurant in the past. Had lunch there and was disappointed with several things. First the service was slow and lacking attention, the food was just okay. I had brisket and hot links, the brisket was tough and lacked taste links were okay. Also had the baked beans which lacked something. My wife had pulled pork and smoked sausage. Wow, the pulled pork is A-Mazing! The sauce is delicious as is the mac and cheese. I was hoping to try the chicken breast but my boy chowed that down so fast, I didn't even get a taste! And now he's coming for my pulled pork! That's a good sign when the table is quiet except for the "Mmmmm"s and the stealing off each other's plates. Not the best BBQ, but not the worst. We showed up at 1:45, just 15 minutes before the end of the buffet. We hurried to fill our plates. The salad bar was impressive and well stocked. I tried all of the meats and some of the sides. --Moist Brisket was okay, but both Briskets lacked the smoke flavor I was looking for. --Sausage was just okay, but my sister did love them. --Pulled Pork was okay, but it being the end of the buffet, a bit dried out. --Ribs were also dried out a bit, but actually quite good. The server asked if there was anything she could bring out before shutting down the buffet, so I asked for ribs. Man, I would have been happy with just those four ribs she brought out. Today we went to Two Brothers BBQ on West central. Was hesitant about eating there since they didn't have the buffet open except for the salad bar. I chose to eat the salad bar and ordered 3 chicken tenders to eat with my salad. When I received my tenders I cut into one of them and it was still raw in the middle. I took it up to the door by the kitchen to get the attention of my waitress. We were the only customers in this restaurant at the time. I told them my chicken tenders were still raw and that they obviously didn't temp them with a thermometer before delivering them to my table. They didn't apologize to me and brought me a new set of tenders. I refused them since I didn't trust them to be cooked throughly. I will never go to eat at their establishment again. I didn't even leave a tip since I had to take the raw chicken back to them. They didn't come check on us after they delivered our food. Two Brothers is our standard BBQ joint, for the past 20 years. Before that, there was a tiny place out east on S Greenwich (N of Kellogg) that was Selman Brothers BBQ. Their parents eventually retired and two brothers of another family bought the business and renamed it Two Brothers BBQ. Most importantly, they continue to use the actual Selman Brothers BBQ sauce!! Now I am not sure I have spelled "Selman" correctly - but we are talking about the Selman Brothers of 1970's college and later pro football fame. So over the years they have expanded to various locations, including this one out on west Central. Each location has their own charms, as far as the buildings themselves, but they all have awesome beef and chicken, as well as the sauces. We have fond memories of encouraging them to bring in the burnt ends when they first set up the buffet line at their N Woodlawn location (now closed). The manager (a sister of the two brothers) didn't seem sure of that suggestion but we suggested that they try it out on a trial basis. Next time we were there, there was a small pan of burnt ends, and every time we were there, seemed like the burnt ends pan was empty or near empty. So evidently there were enough other KC style burnt ends fans to keep that going, and at all of the locations as well. And I don't think for one minute that we were the only ones suggesting burnt ends, either. The smaller location east of downtown around Douglas and Hillside is the original menu of sandwiches, as well as a place to order larger batches of meat for to-go orders. They do not have a buffet. But it is still a nice clean-enough dive to go for a quick sturdy lunch. read more

I was charge 10.00 more for my meal on my debit ticket . I hope their employee did not do it on propose. I have tried everyday to get my ten dollars back but no-one has contacted me to tell me what they are going to do about it. I would suggest if you go to this one. Do not use debt use cash. I'm a big fan of this place but on a Saturday dine in, the waitress was great but the food was poorly prepared. Sweet potato fries came out burned and second round came out only slightly less burned. They forgot to pull the pulled pork, it came out as a slab of pork. Obviously whoever was working kitchen this day did not care. If an owner was there and let this shit go out, shame on them. Went here because we had a tennis match close by. Not only was the hostess/server attentive.. she was also super nice! She set our table of 10 with no problems and filled our water glasses. First time ordering online for carryout through the West Wichita location and lets just say it will be my last. The sides I ordered were "baked beans and coleslaw." The baked beans tasted like they were from a can and had no flavor at all. The Coleslaw was not much better. I ordered the smoke turkey and I came home with ham and it was terrible. I ordered the "hot BBQ sauce" and there was not a thing hot about it! Was thin and barely any taste. The garlic bread was nothing more than bread doused in butter with no garlic flavor whatsoever. Our group mostly had the Buffett so I can't review their menu. But, their buffet had some good items and a good salad bar. I really enjoyed their burnt ends, fried okra, Cole slaw, and cherry cobbler. Others liked the pulled pork and the brisket. Most everyone liked the green beans. Ended up here after wasting my time at another BBQ place in Wichita that obviously didn't respect their customers. After that experience, it was nice to be taken care of quickly and respectfully. The girl obviously could see that I was exhausted (I've been working 12 hour days for almost 2 weeks straight after being flown here by my company to lend a hand), and took care of me quickly. She even suggested I take a seat at an empty table even though I was doing take out. And when I left without my drink (because I was in a sleepy haze by now) and came back to get it, they had already cleared the - but she quickly got me another. Thank you Kiera K., you're a good girl. The BBQ was excellent. I've been to hundreds of BBQ places around the world. On virtually ever habitable continent on this planet. I am not a fan of dry BBQ, so I stick to reviewing sauced BBQ. Brisket, excellent - one of the best I've ever had. Pulled pork was wonderful. The ribs were very very good.... But I have had better. The sauces available on the table were the better of the one I picked to go home with as it was a little tangy for my tastes. Sides were great, but the coleslaw was a bit too acidic. I don't think there's anyone that can make a compelling argument that foods served in a buffet are better than their non-buffet counterparts (unless you base it upon a purely monetary judgment, in which case my reviews may not be for you) (Indian foods serve as the exception, for reasons I'll mention later). Still, I haven't tried all varieties of buffets. Chinese, certainly. Burger bars aplenty. Italian once in a blue moon. I hadn't tried a barbecue buffet, though, and I found the concept interesting. Barbecue is all about letting meats sit around for a long time, anyway - if you make them available to the public, what damage is done? The one good thing about buffets for me is that I can get the widest sampling of the menu as possible, so here's the long and short of it: MEATS The pulled pork wasn't bad at all, though not as pulled as it should have been, with big old chunks still sitting in the chafing dish. I think the wide distribution of fat kept everything pretty moist. I found the brisket and turkey moist, but with an unpleasant texture, like it was TOO moist, which I know doesn't make sense, even to me, but something was up. The same moistness couldn't be said for the chopped pork, which I found unpleasantly dry. They had sausages... and that's all I have to say about that. SIDES Two Brothers offers both a jambalaya and a chili that incorporates the barbecue, which I liked because I don't see it often, and it works well in a buffet, because - similarly with Indian food - stews don't have to worry about preparation - they could sit there all day and still be plenty good, so long as the temperature remains high. The chili wasn't great by chili standards - seemed more like the baked beans with more meat and tomatoes thrown in - but it was good enough. Speaking of the beans, I enjoyed them, not only because they also had some of their pork thrown in, but also because their house sauces weren't as sweet as other places, and given as that served as the base for the sauce of the beans, I didn't mind them at all. The macaroni and cheese was the same bland buffet-style we've all eaten before. They had pickle spears at the condiment bar, which was awesomely not the boring wrinkle pickle chips all restaurants serve. Mention should be made of the "floor manager" that was watching over the buffet and helping out the customers at the tables, because he was all over that buffet and quick to react to anything anyone wanted, whether it be clearing plates or getting drink refills. This was probably the most well-tended buffet, I've visited, which is certainly not bad at all. And as I was eating a decent peach cobbler with a nicely tender crust, "not bad at all" was something that I think sums up Two Brothers well. I think this is an example of the best product a buffet can produce, though no matter how good it may be, it's still never as good as a comparable meal that's prepared to order. read more

Classic BBQ...I do a lot of bbq'n and BBQ competitions. I went in hoping to try a few things. As it turns out, they had a buffet that allowed you to sample all their meats. I didn't care for their sausage (wanted Texas style). I also ordered a small order of BBQ wings. I thought it was great. Nice smoke, super tender! Ribs were awesome!!! Of course I went right at noon. People were nice, place was clean but this was no better than Burger King with beer (if you call Bud Light beer) Went in to kill 90 minutes while a real estate agent showed my house. For $12 was supposed to get a burger and a beer. Ordered a Bud light wheat and realizing you had to order then find a seat similar to a standard fast food restaurant I asked if a server came to provide refills or if I had to go up to the cashier to reorder. Cashier said she was the waitress so I had to find her. Burger didn't even come with fries and they didn't have anything except Bud and Bud Light products. I ordered a Bud light wheat because I like import style beers and they brought me a regular Bud Light. It wasn't even the server (cashier?) that delivered the incorrect beer because apparently she wasn't old enough so the manager screwed the pooch. Burger King has better burgers, but I will say the BBQ sauce made it a little better. Damn skippy it should since the wrong beer only cost $3. That means The crappy burger without fries was almost $9. They were pimping the salad bar for $11.99 but the receipt clearly said "Try our salad bar for $8.99". I guess I'm just not impressed. Went to pick some food and used the pick up stall to order. the service was friendly and efficient. The food on the other hand lacked basic essentials. The baked potato: this wasn't a baked potato it was boiled. I know this because of the texture of the potato and the color of it when you cut into it. When you over cook a potato in water it becomes gummy. if it was baked, it should be a bit more dry. The other option is that it's been sitting in a hotbox with water for some time. Pulled pork: this tasted good just a little too much salt and fat in the pork. Sweet corn: to put it simply this was just corn. No salt and lacked sweetness. Ribs: I think they forgot to put the dry rub on it! tasted like plain smoked meat. Sad! I was really looking forward to the ribs. I hope the quality of the food improves.
