The good: Shrimp. Not fishy, not rubbery, large and garlicky Garlic fried rice. Texture was great, portion was adequate Teriyaki chicken and steak flavors. Very tasty The bad: Portions. Look, I get a business needs to make money with inflation but the white rice portions were skimpy and the teriyaki steak portion was maaaaaybe 2-3 ounces. Way smaller than the chicken portion on the 2 meat plate and I already thought the chicken portion was small. Spam musubi. Was warm-- so the warm rice made it just completely fall apart when I opened up the plastic wrap and the sauce was slopped all over it without any thought making it super soggy. Just mark them as sold out instead of presenting something of such bad quality next time for the sake of a sale. I'm guessing you premake a set amount each day and you were already out by that time. I'd probably try this place again. Their menu is different in a good way but they definitely need to tweak a few things to improve quality and customer retention. read more

A friend of mine found this place while looking for some Hawaiian style food. I went with my wife and two of our kids to try it out. Images and names of the dishes were looking/sounded good. My wife ordered a teriyaki chicken bowl, while my sons and I ordered like a Honolulu chicken with luau (pulled pork) which came with two sides. I doubled the Mac salad and it came with rice. The wait wasn't long at all and the drink was separate. Food was sort of dry and a 3.5 out of 10 stars at the most. Mac salad was bland. I liked Hawaiian Bros better than this place. This was a place I have wanted to try for months and I'm glad I did! We ordered the huli huli chicken, chicken fried rice and a Sharky's Jawsome burger and fries. Everything is made to order so there's a wait which is fine as your food is hot. According to the gym guy, the burger was delicious and the only negative was that he prefers medium rare. The fries were hot and had a good crisp to them. The sauce was decent. 10/10 Huli huli chicken came with rice and two sides which he went with double Hawaiian mac salad. The chicken was tender, juicy and the sauce was really good. The rice was soft with no undercooked pieces. Mac salad was the best in town. 10/10 Chicken fried rice seems to have the same sauce as the huli huli chicken which was amazing. The only thing I would change would be to remove as much of the fat as possible before cooking. The rice was perfect and I enjoyed the little goyza that came with it. 10/10 We're definitely coming back to try more items in the future. Remember that everything is cooked fresh so be patient! The macaroni salad didn't meet my expectations either, as it was quite bland for a Hawaiian mac. The menu is extensive, so I'm sure I'll find something I like on my next visit. Ordered it in because of weather so I can't comment on the ambiance but the food was overall pretty good. The huli huli chicken was savory and well cooked and the chicken katsu was also well cooked. I think both could definitely use more sauce because both were a bit under seasoned. The side salad was pretty good with a tangy sauce with some tropical fruit which was refreshing. Upgraded the rice to fried rice which had a good texture but flavor felt a little off (I think it needs more salt but also if the meat had more sauce I think it would help too). My partner had the Mac salad as a side which it had a nice black pepper flavor and good texture but definitely needed some more of the sauce because it was dry. After wanting to visit Sharky's for a while the day finally came, Mother's Day. I inquired about a few menu items and the girl at the register told me that she didn't know, that she just started. Okay. After some consideration I decided to go with the bulgogi. She immediately rang me up as the value meal which came with grilled veggies which was okay but I really wanted to try your Kimchee cole slaw. The bulgogi was good but the rice was mushy. They weren't busy but the service was slow. There was a Mother and daughter who placed their order before me however I received my order before them. So I'm eating this well because the way are new and I hope they learn from mistakes. 1. I order app cream cheese wonton. I feel like this is a hard dish to get wrong but they did to crispy on edges and not much filling along with very bland flavor. 2. Ordered fried rice with chicken and the chicken was cold like if it was sitting out for a while again not much flavor. The highlight of this place is the slippers they sell and fried rice when made well we had two orders very inconsistent one was warm and fluffy and other was dried up and burnt like it was the bottom of the pan. Whatever you do don't get delivery from here. They don't give any kind of description of their food. I ordered the loaded moco loco thinking it was normal moco loco. Well it's not, it's some horrendous Frankenstein they put together. But that's where i went wrong. It doesn't have any rice but some incredibly salty fries. It's loaded with onions and hard cheese curds that sat under a heat lamp. Then it's loaded with gravy which it's supposed to. But it is a literal salt lick and I couldn't eat it at all. They could have avoided it if only they put a description on their online menu. I called them up and the lady who answered was rude and didn't care to solve the problem. I had to call up DoorDash and have everything refunded. This is my first time trying this place and last. I usually make moco loco by myself for my family so I know what it's supposed to taste like. Maybe they make the normal version but I can't find it on their menu. Just do yourself a favor and never order it. It's just so wrong what they did to a good recipe. read more

We tried Sharky's Island Bites tonight and were pretty underwhelmed. We both got the Great White fried rice, I got steak and the wife got chicken, and we got an order of crab Rangoon. The portions are generous and the staff was friendly, but unfortunately that's where the good ended. The rice is edible but very run-of-the-mill...I can rush better "10-minute fried rice" in my kitchen using instant...their rice didn't seem like it was aged and it relied solely on the garlic for flavor...I realize "garlic" is in the name but that's about all we could taste in the rice. I don't mind a lot of garlic, but it shouldn't overwhelm the dish...it should be there to balance the dish and elevate the flavor, not take it over. The steak was bland and very overdone to the point that it was dry and bordering on being jerky, and the chicken wasn't much better, but at least it had some flavor, though the glaze was almost candied, like it had been sitting under a heat lamp all day, so it was similar to sticky chicken. The crab Rangoon was okay...it was a little bit stingy with flavor, but admittedly my pallet was blown out with garlic before I tasted the Rangoon, and they were at least cooked properly and were pretty well filled, so it was at least passible. I'm generally willing to give a place a second chance before I write it off because places can have an off night, but it cost almost $40 to eat food that tasted like it was reheated for the second time in a grade school cafeteria, and fried rice is not something that's overly difficult. There was nothing in our meal that makes me think it would ever be much better...it certainly didn't live up to the hype of people comparing it to Kobe. There are other things on their menu to try, but if they can't even get rice right, I'm not sure it's worth trying anything else. read more

Called in a pick up order for 2 plates meals. We have been exited to try this new Hawaiian for a while now, we absolutely love Noble House but this new place was closer to our house. Sadly we were disappointed , the sides were extremely small and clearly very old. We picked up our order 2 hours before close so I would think it should be still be good quality. The meat was over cooked and the bottom of the barrel. Our mac and side salads were extremely small, genuinely both portions didn't even fill up one side. Great new little place right east of the old West Warren theater. We tried a couple of items, the Great White fried rice is absolutely delicious buttery and very garlicky! We also tried one of the entree's where you pick a protein and it also comes with macaroni salad, fried rice and a little green salad. We will definitely be back! I want to try the Loco Moco!
