Bitter Sweet has a great ambience with green indoor plants, succulents and an aquarium. Seating is comfortable and the drip coffees are excellent. I recently tried a pho latte which was quite unique, and an orange scone that was delicious. I will not be trying the pho latte again since pho in coffee is an acquired taste. Met one of my bestie's here earlier today for our monthly coffee catch up. Found this gem on yelp & chose it specifically for the Affogata! Of course I forgot to take a photo of my yummy drink (mearly perfect) and my friend had a yummy Turkey/artichoke panini served with fresh tomato that was delish. He also had a black sesame latte thar was top notch with beautiful latte art heart. The food & drinks were great and what makes this place a 5 is the ambiance & vibe (and good retro tunes & a fishtank with Nemo) Comfy chairs, few tables to work if that is yoir thing, decent parking availability, and easy to --very close to the cupertino Library. I'm rarely in SJ but decided to ride with hubby to work today, and found this cafe a few minutes away! I wanted a cute and cozy spot to do some work, and this was exactly what I found. First thing I noticed and loved was that there were a ton of plants, and lots of decorations catered to anime, superhero's, and games. There were some arcade games which was cute, and a fish tank (that definitely needs to be cleaned). I came here because I noticed some cool latte flavors, like Pho and Miso??? Unfortunate I was too chicken to try it, so I ended up getting the black sesame latte (half sweet) due to popular reviews. Service was straight forward and quick, not too much interaction. I asked for wifi because I had zero reception and they gave me a tiny slip of paper with a code on it, which only worked for 1 device for a designated 2 hours. Weird but fine, the wifi worked well. My drink was decent as well, the sesame flavor wasn't as pronounced as I would have liked, but the latte art was beautiful! My hubby joined me during his lunch break and ordered a red velvet latte to go, and I liked that one better. Black sesame latte was delicious with oat milk! Just one barista when I went on a weekday afternoon (I think it was the owner) and they whipped up my drink quickly. Heads up, they don't do personal cups. I usually bring my own to keep my hot drinks hot even when I dine in since I'm guilty of babysitting my drinks-but no biggie since my latte was so good I finished it up quicker than I normally would. This place lived up to its name. The coffee and cake were both very good, but the service was poor. They have the menu at the entrance, not where you order, and if you have the audacity to ask questions because you didn't memorize it, the tattooed barista can't be bothered to help you out. The way cow milk vs oat milk is foams is slightly different and most of the time, the oat milk gets over foamed and ends up with lots of bubbles which disrupts the smooth texture of the latte. Vibe & ambiance were pretty chill - a lot of art and pokemon décor around. Fish tanks could use some cleaning, as one them was almost completely brown. Came with a friend and we both ordered a Vietnamese ice coffee and it did not deliver. We both felt duped cause it tasted more like an iced espresso latte. At least add some condensed milk to try to fool us! Was very unhappy with my drink and just gave the rest to my friend. Pastries are good, not too bad. I just happened to stumble across this place when I was running an errand nearby. It had a good vibe with some couch seating, books, games, old school game machines like Pac-Man, and a big fish tank. They had some interesting flavor combinations, so I went with a black sesame iced latte with almond milk. They use condensed milk, but they were able to make it less sweet. The drink was smooth and not powdery from the black sesame. They also had interesting items like a miso latte and red bean matcha, which I would want to try another visit. Found this gem in the South Bay. Bitter + Sweet is such a fun coffee shop that's great for getting work done or catching up with friends. Their menu is extensive with some unique savory coffee flavors as well. I opted for the red velvet latte iced and it was delicious. The service was pretty fast as well. They do offer individual WiFi codes per customer, so be sure to ask. They have indoor and outdoor seating. There is also a lot of parking in the lot, so that isn't an issue. I see a lot of reviews about the service and I will say it definitely depends who you get which shouldn't be the case but sometimes you'll get someone sweet and other times you'll get someone monotone and wants you to know your order and pay. The drinks are high quality and they seem to know what they're doing which shows because of how consistent they've been with their flavors every time I've gone. We've had the red velvet latte, affogato, and lavender latte. Unfortunately whenever I order a honey lavender latte the main person I usually encounter states just lavender which never makes sense to me if the menu says it includes honey but is never made that way. In terms of ambiance, the place is very spacious and cozy. The plants are a gorgeous use of their high ceilings and the puzzles give it that fun vibe. They also have fish tank which is very cute just keep your kids away from tapping the glass! I had to try this one and it was absolutely delicious. I also tried the Southwestern panini. The texture of the chicken mixed with salsa reminded me of cat food. It had a good kick to it but I would have preferred whole chicken breast or even sliced chicken for the sandwich. If you'd like a place to chill for a bit then this is a cute place to come to. I ordered Karl the Fog, which had a strange acidic aftertaste to it; I didn't feel inclined to finish my drink. The portion was also fairly small for the price. My friend didn't like her drink either, which she said tasted super water down. The service was a little pretentious and rude.
