I come here pretty regularly for their matcha drinks. My go-to is the honey matcha latte with oat milk. They give you the option to put double matcha (for the honey matcha latte) which is a plus! The double shot of matcha and the honey pairs really well together. It has the perfect amount of sweetness and a perfect amount of matcha to make it taste rich without being bitter. The strawberry matcha latte has strawberry puree and strawberry bits which makes it taste really sweet. It's a really good contrast of flavors and an overall solid strawberry matcha latte. They also updated the self-ordering kiosk with 2 instead of one now, so there's barely any lines now compared to when they first opened. The drinks are a lot quicker so you don't have to wait too long. There's also no seats inside but there's plenty of waiting space on the outside patio! Overall I would highly recommend this place for matcha lovers. Their matcha is super rich in flavor and they have a lot of options. Sometimes, they also have matcha powder in stock too! Izumi is a really solid matcha spot. You can taste the authenticity and quality of the matcha, and they whisk it really well. My first experience was pretty mid because the ceremonial matcha latte was VERY strong and bitter. I couldn't finish it and it made me super jittery. After coming back a few more times though, I found a couple things I really liked. The Crème Brûlée Matcha was delicious. I finished the entire drink. You can't change the sweetness level, which is unfortunate, but their recommended sweetness actually balanced the stronger matcha really well. The ice cream is probably the best thing here. Super creamy, perfectly sweet and really well blended. I would honestly come back just for the ice cream. The strawberry matcha latte was pretty unmemorable to me, and the hojicha was also extremely bitter. Service was good. The barista was kind and helpful, which I appreciated. You order through a kiosk, so there isn't a ton of interaction overall. When I first came around their opening, there was basically no line. After they started getting more hype, the lines became longer and longer. I think it's worth trying, but personally I wouldn't wait in a huge line for it. The cafe is located in a nice plaza in Cupertino off Steven Creek Blvd. Parking is accessible in the large parking out front. The modern cultural decor is simple. The vibe is welcoming and bustling. There are no tables inside but there are plenty of tables and chairs outside in the communal patio. We ordered 2 creme brûlée matcha swirls. There were delicious and refreshing. The swirl presentation in the cup was nice and different. The flavor was unique but in a scrumptious way. Overall we enjoyed our experience at Izumi Matcha. The staff were friendly and accommodating. I appreciated the family friendly and inviting atmosphere both inside and outside in the communal patio. Thank god we did not have to wait in a line for the kiosk. Price point was fair. They were taking orders at the counter and via one kiosk (the other was down), so the wait wasn't bad. The drink menu has a lot of Americanized options. The creme brulee matcha swirl was good, but the creme brulee (syrup? caramel?) was way too prominent - if you like chewy chunks of creme brulee caramel throughout your drink, this is for you. I get why this place is always so busy. The matcha is genuinely stellar. I visited on a Thursday evening, and there was no line, which was a surprise. Their tornado matcha is good and sweet, and is a great dessert however in my personal opinion, their traditional drinks are not standouts. Last week I went with a friend and ordered a matcha oat latte with a double shot, and while I tasted the matcha, it was grainy and didn't really have any depth. I wouldn't say I would avoid going here, for a matcha option and to get caffeinated for the day. It is still an option but I feel like it wouldn't be fair to say it's worth driving over 30+ minutes here. As a note too, this location can get extremely busy in terms of parking! The plaza is popping with heavy hitters. Service was fine as they do the self service kiosk with pick up being less than 5 minutes (no big lines), and the store itself is small with no seating outside but plenty of plaza seating outside. read more

I did take a sip of the Honey Hōjicha Latte with Oat milk, which I will be saving for tomorrow, and it's also very tasty. I taste the roasted tea especially on the aftertaste.
