Overall: Pretty cute and chill place. Has decent food and drink options. Came here on a Monday afternoon and it was pretty quiet. Great place to go to work and focus on something while sipping on a drink. Food: I got the banh mi and matcha latte. Their banh mi is kind of hidden as it's not really on the official menu. Banh mi was delicious. Generous filling and everything was fresh from the veggies to the bread which was nice and soft on the inside. Matcha latte was a little bitter but overall pretty smooth and tasty. Atmosphere: This cafe is quite large inside and there's actually a lot of sitting/work areas. I'm a frequent customer here and it saddens me to give 1 star today. I ordered a Tuna salad on a Croissant. The person helping asked me if I want all the trimmings and I asked what are the trimmings that come with it? She said, mayo, mustard, tomato, lettuce, onions, and pepperoncini peppers. I said no onions and pepperoncini. The sandwich that I opened the box to when I returned to work was a tuna salad on a croissant with lettuce, banh mi aioli, and banh mi pickled daikon/carrots. I called the business and informed there was a mistake as there are pickled daikon/carrots in my tuna croissant. I was told to bring it back and they'll make it right. Minutes later I received a voicemail stating that the sandwich was made correctly and that pickled daikon was suppose to be in the sandwich. Few issues I have with this...First, the flavor profile is not right. Second, why was I informed of all the trimmings when I ordered and pickled daikon/carrots was not mentioned to me. Third, where was the mustard, cucumber, mayo(they used banh mi aioli which is different than mayo) and tomato? Is this under new management? I used to order the tuna sandwich all the time and it was never made like this. Orchard Valley Coffee is one of my go-to spots whenever I'm in the Santa Clara area. I try to stop by whenever I can. My favorite drink here is their iced Arnold Palmer, a refreshing mix of tea and lemonade. A large 24-ounce cup is less than $5, which is a great value. Their pound cake is also delicious. It's soft, moist, and full of flavor. Definitely worth trying if you're looking for a sweet treat to go with your drink. The service is always fast, and the staff are absolute sweethearts. Everyone I've interacted with has been friendly, accommodating, and welcoming. I still haven't had a chance to try their sandwiches, but they're definitely on my list for my next visit. Was looking for a quick drink and bathroom stop while passing through and this place was great! The server patiently explained the difference between the chai options they have (which is great to be able to choose spicy/sweet/blend). I chose the sweeter and it was very good. Bathroom was clean and my drink was ready before I even came out. There are several areas with more comfortable seating (couches/soft chairs) in addition to the tables. Located near my favorite place to shop I decided to come by and give this Orchard Valley location a try. #1. Cleanliness: The front doors were full of smudges, inside tables were for the most part clean. One of the call to order TV's did not work. Employee wiped down tables outside yet left the front doors dirty 2 Stars. #2. Service: The service was great! Really nice lady took our orders, explained what they put in their version of a matcha Frappuccino, and was friendly. 5 Stars! #3. They had laminated menus at the front counter that showed what their drinks cost. HOWEVER after we ordered our drinks we were charged $1 more per drink before taxes. "I didn't say anything, though I should have" 0 stars for that! #4. I told the lady that I like to taste my Matcha so she gave me 2.5 heaping scoops of matcha powder. After she made it, I could barely taste the Matcha?? After researching why I only use 1 teaspoon full at home and my Matcha is twice as strong, I found out that most businesses use a low grade matcha powder to cut cost "which is basically crap!" She literally put six times the amount of Matcha powder that I normally use and I could barely taste it. 2 stars. NOTE TO OWNER: It's your responsibility to charge the public what is written on your paperwork. And make appropriate changes as needed. Good feeling here. Windows facing the parking lot south sunlight makes it naturally bright inside. Good staffing and good customer service as needed. Public restroom is available. The place isn't huge, but it does have enough tables and chairs inside and outside for you to enjoy a quiet cafe moment here. It's a basic and convenient cafe/coffee shop with beverages/salads/sandwiches/pastries/etc. Lines can get busy with takeouts, but in general, it was quite pleasant and clean inside. Toss your own trash. I ordered the veggie delight sandwich on sourdough bread $10.75, added swiss cheese for $1.00. Tasted very fresh and good and clean cut in presentation. Veggies were crispy fresh! My 12 oz. hot cup pistachio cappuccino was decent, but I barely tasted pistachio flavor in it. Yes, they do have a special beverage menu list at the counter. Plain croissant $5.00 and Black Forest chocolate cake topped with cherry $5.00. Overall, very decent and inexpensive for a casual cafe setting. Nothing fancy. Just simple and great for small groups too. Staffs were helpful. I really felt great inside for 1-2 hours. It's a pleasant feeling and quiet experience on a Thursday morning. Found a great little coffee shop to work out of. The atmosphere was calm, quiet, and comfortable -- perfect for getting some work done without a lot of noise or distractions. The ladies working there were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and you can tell they really care about the customer experience. The coffee itself tasted amazing, rich and smooth with great flavor. I also appreciated that they gave me a heads-up that their coffee was strong... and they definitely weren't kidding! It had a great kick without tasting bitter. Been here a few times before and always had a good experience. The most recent time was before lunchtime on a Saturday. This coffee shop is located in a plaza so there's a lot of parking. There are a few businesses in the plaza including a popular ramen spot. I've gotten the matcha latte and the regular latte. Both were good, pretty standard for what I'd expect of a cafe. I also tried the lemon bar (not overly sweet with a good lemon taste) and the quiche. They also have specialty and seasonal drinks that they advertise on a board outside the store. Came for a late breakfast. We usually go to their Campbell location but excited to check out their new location on Stevens Creek in the shopping center where Bed Bath and Beyond was but is now Micro Center. As soon as we walked in we were greeted. We ordered the classic breakfast sandwich on a croissant and another one sub bacon instead of Ham. The breakfast sandwich was great and perfect amount of egg, and meat ratio. The croissant was fresh and soft. I want to give three stars, but I'd feel bad since the staff here are so, so nice. They're always smiling and doing their best to make the drinks but... I find that drinks I get here are usually pretty watered down. Maybe I'm just three for three on getting the one bad drink of the day, but it's enough that I usually come here as a last resort. It used to be Chromatic and that was one of my favorite coffee shops, not sure how long it's been Orchard Valley Coffee but there being no one in there when I arrived should have been a sign. They do have quite a few breakfast options and pastries. I got a lavender latte with almond milk. I was in the neighborhood and felt like stopping by the space that has housed numerous Third Wave coffee roasters over the years. Back in 2001 when I first arrived to the Valley, Barefoot Coffee was serving up espresso and pour overs there. A couple years later, the space was taken over by some of the former Barefoot employees. They became known as Chromatic Coffee. A few years later, former employees of Chromatic took over the space and called it Paper Moon Coffee. So the new occupants of the space have some pretty large shoes to fill, as Barefoot and Chromatic are the two most established Third Wave local roasters in the South Bay. When I walked up, it was clear from even far away that there was a new business in the space. I assumed that former employees of Paper Moon had taken over, like their predecessors before them. It appears that the decade of Third Wave successors has ended with the Orchard Valley Coffee. Gone are the kiosks with pour over equipment and overpriced 12 ounce bags of freshly roasted coffee. The walls have been painted white and I actually remarked to myself that the logo looked like it was an old-fashioned cafe in Campbell. That turned out to be the case, as this new location on Stevens Creek and Lawrence is the latest location for the Campbell-based cafe. When I ordered a pour over, I watched with curiosity as the barista filled a regular hot water kettle without a gooseneck spout. They put the grounds in a filter of what looked like a Kalita Wave dripper. They poured the hot water into the dripper which was over the top of a paper cup. I was told it was a lightly roasted Sumatra. Upon my initial sip, I tasted more of a dark to medium dark roast. Not quite Starbucks and Pete's burnt but it was far from a light roast by Third Wave standards. I prefer lighter and more nuanced roasts of single origin beans from Colombia, Guatemala, Indonesia and Ethiopia. read more

Wanted to quickly grab a coffee when I was in the area and went to this cute cafe. We received the warmest welcome from the owner, and she suggested we try this Banh Mi. It was so so good! The baguette was very crunchy and the pickles inside were fresh and delicious. A little bit different from traditional Banh mi, this is a lighter version that would leave me way less messy since the portion of the filling was very decent and well tucked inside the bread. The vibe was kind of a waiting room. I ordered a latte and a piece of quiche. The coffee was fine. No complaints. The single older woman working all by herself was pleasant and welcoming but the food (which was probably good once) was microwaved and stale. In my monthly haircut routine, I drop by here to grab a sandwich and/or coffee. I'd like to mention that Eve and Sokha have superior customer service as they are friendly and I thoroughly enjoyed our conversation. They let me sample an orange coffee latte that they were testing (which was delicious) as I ordered a vegetarian sandwich with avocado on a baguette and an orange infused Vietnamese coffee.
