My brother LOVES this place, but I'm not a fan of coconut so take this review with a grain of salt. I thought the pudding was very silky and smooth, but the coconut flavor was just so strong, I didn't like it. But if you like coconut, this place will be heaven for you like it is for my brother. I've been to the SoCal (Sawtelle, and San Gabriel) locations. This one is the biggest and poshest I've been to. You have a wall of (faux) jelly jars of all different flavors once you enter. This place feels very revamped. A "red carpet" greets you upon your approach to the counter. And though there is staff who I suppose could take your order, there is one kiosk tablet to place your order. Lots of seating inside (9 tables). We came on a Sunday afternoon and though the wall display says "SO MANY FLAVORS TO CHOOSE FROM", the inventory behind the glass says "meh not so much". I guess most of the different flavors had sold out already by 3 pm, like some of my favorite seasonals (dragon fruit, ube). However, I was able to get the osmanthus oolong which I love. The taro coconut was light and refreshing so I enjoyed that as well! Today I decided to venture and buy the durian but I have not YET tried it. It wasn't too busy so after placing the order, they had our order in less than 5 minutes. My puppers got to accompany me into the store too. There can be a long line to wait to order if it's busy. Interior is bright and big with many tables/chairs for people to hangout. The Black Sesame Walnut one is good too but a little runny. The Pistachio Rose is so-so. It looks pretty though. Overall when comparing this with Tong Sui: - OPTIONS: MeloMelo offers more options and different interesting flavors than Tong Sui. - TEXTURE: MeloMelo's texture is more soft and runny. For some jars, it's like drinking dessert "soup". For Tongsui, there is more texture, less watery, and more "chew". This was my first time ever going to this particular coconut dessert shop, and I've been wanting to try it out for so long, but their parking lot is honestly horribly packed but if you go around 9 PM on a Thursday night, no one is insight except for at this establishment! Lol I was actually surprised, there were only two tables available for my girlfriends and I to sit at! Since we were able to get one of the last tables, I will also note that I have a sensitivity to Lite and the fact this whole shop had LED lights with neon white background. It was very triggering for my eyes. So sadly, I actually looked down the whole time. My girlfriend and I were in here due to my sensitivity of light. Apparently on a Thursday night, everything in Cupertino shuts down early! Nevertheless, we were able to each get a dessert and I was only planning on eating half of mine, but it was honestly so good. I accidentally finished the whole thing!! I will definitely be going back to try the other flavors but be aware some of them do contain cow milk. After barbecue, we noticed Melo Melo across the plaza, a spot we hadn't seen before, and it immediately caught our attention. The space is beautifully decorated, especially the wall of colorful jars, which gives it a really fun, modern vibe. Love oreo cream reminds me of the oreo cream you find in an Oreo pizzookie and the matcha portion balances out the sweetness from the oreo cream. Tried this place on a Sunday night, so there few limited options left. Got the triple coconut to share with my partner, and it was delicious!!!! I was so surprised. The coconut jelly is silken soft and melts away in your mouth. It has a nice natural sweetness that was refreshing to eat. It was addicting and I kinda wished I had my own dessert lol! The only downside is that it is difficult to remove the inner coconut layer from the shell without proper utensils. My partner used the end of the plastic spoon to carve out coconut pieces. Tried this for the first time last weekend and omg it was so good I got the one with peach gum. They have a huge variety of different toppings with the coconut pudding. There is durian, dragon fruit, mango, avocado and so much more. The coconut pudding is very light in the sweetness level which is perfect for me. It really reminds me of how my mom makes coconut pudding. The peach gum doesn't have much of a flavor but I've had it before and have been told it's very healthy for you. It's sort of like an agar boba texture but less bounce to it. There's really not much of a flavor to it, it's more of a texture thing. Came in on Memorial Day Monday around 3pm, pretty packed at this time since its a holiday! This was our first time here so we opted for one of the classics from the menu, Coconut Triple. The pudding itself is delicious! There is coconut milk pudding on top and coconut water pudding on the bottom. Everything is served in a real coconut so there is coconut meat on the sides, but it's difficult to eat that since the spoons are not strong enough, so I wouldn't consider coconut meat one of the main attractions for this order. If there were metal spoons available maybe getting the meat out would be easier. With about 10 people in front of us it took about 15min for us to order since there is only 1 ordering screen. After ordering it only takes about 2min for your order to come out. Seating is limited to about 30 seats roughly estimate. Unfortunately there is no water freely available while you wait. I didn't think I was a coconut jelly person until now! MeloMelo recently opened with first Bay Area location in Cupertino, and it's super cute! The design is clean and aesthetic with a spacious interior. The walls are lined with different MeloMelo jars! I was impressed by the wide variety of flavors they had to choose from! They have everything from plain coconut jelly to ones with fresh fruit, floral flavors, and tea flavors. Some of their more unique flavors include Durian, Osmanthus Oolong, Oreo Matcha, Dragonfruit, and Sesame Walnut. I typically enjoy their jellies with fruit chunks, but I tried their mochi coconut jellies, and I really liked these too! The Pistachio Rose has a yummy pistachio paste with a rose flavor and a chewy mochi layer on the top.
