We bought some pastries from the cafe today and sat at the outdoor table to eat them. We did already have drinks with us from another shop and other snacks too. Someone from the cafe, who was not the cashier that rang us up, walked over and told us we need to leave as we couldn't have outside food. I mentioned that we just purchased pastries from you not 2min ago. But we left anyway, because we felt unwelcome. The table next to us didn't purchase food from them and were eating out of their own lunchbox, but were not given this same treatment. We are regulars at this library and have patronized this cafe numerous times over the years. This is our first negative experience where we felt unfairly treated, especially compared to the table next to us. The cafe lady that confronted us should've did so to the table next to us too. Or she could've asked us to put away the food that wasn't from them, so that other patrons don't get confused. Or, she should give us the option to refund our pastries since we didn't get to eat them yet, as we had just sat down, after purchasing it. read more

The items are all things kids would crave for especially if they are actively studying. I get a cup of coffee here every time I study at the library, owner greets me with a smile and coffee is good. It's not overpriced, not cheap but you pay a bit more to go local. I really like their hot americano. I see from other reviews (and from using my eyes) they overcharge for ice cream. I have ordered Milk tea multiple times. Each time I requested to put less sugar and less ice. But there is no effort to consider the request. The drink either will have truck loads of ice or no ice. I come here for a coffee fix when 1) I'm studying at the Cupertino library or 2) when I'm visiting my friend who lives right down the street and the perfect excuse is to get a coffee drink. I like this location a lot more than the other one on Stevens Creek. Their drinks to me either taste really sweet or really watered down. This coffee shop has had more consistency and better customer service. During the fall, try their pumpkin spice lattes; much better than Starbucks. Their Cafe Lattes have a really good taste and I just tried their Mocha Shake, like an ice blended mocha but you can choose between milk or frozen yogurt. That's a new one! The guy made my moca into a work of art with little X's all around the inside of the cup, not to mention that it tasted so delicious!!!! Hmmm....maybe I'll get one today! read more

This place is super convenient when you're studying all day at the library and get hungry. Don't be tempted to try Won Stew House across the street which is ATROCIOUS. When I stopped by today, I was tempted by the ginormous $2.25 chocolate-chocolate chip muffin. They also had a waffle maker going in the back, but the day was too hot for that. I would, however, be tempted to try it some other time. FYI since my yelp app on my iPhone updated itself recently, I am excited to tell you guys this is my first review via iPhone.. I should be studying right now but I decided to spare a few minutes to write a live yelp review!!!! :) As I am sitting down in coffee society, I can count the amount of chairs and tables with the amount of fingers that I have, 10. 3 tables and 2 chairs each inside the vicinity and few out in the front of the shop. I guess since there is a community center and library right here, they didn't think many people would chill here. $4 for a 16 oz white mocha. It is actually pretty good. The right amount of sweetness topped off with whipped cream. I should of looked at the menu more carefully and ordered the killer man java because it does sound "killer". There is half an hour left until closing and the girl working already put away all the chairs and tables that were not occupied away already. This misleads people in thinking the place is about to close within the next few minutes. I would think you would clean up 5 minutes before closing time at least. This just makes it seem to us that they want us out already but I will stand my ground and stay here until closing! Ha!! I've been here twice and both times I decided to get the Strawberry Italian Cream Soda. I love it! I'm a little weary that I go to "Coffee Society" to get a Soda instead of a coffee. I don't know, but its good. Maybe when I come here again i'll try their coffee,maybe. Another plus side is the service is great. MORE POINTS-I like the environment to study in, its quiet. I don't see many students, but there are a lot of older people,which is probably why its quiet. I like it :) I'll come out of my comfort zone and try something new soon, I hope. read more

There are two Coffee Societies...this one in particular is on Torre Road ADJACENT to the Cupe Library. Came here intending to get in a quick morning study session at the library, only to find out that it doesn't open until 10AM. Therefore, I found myself at Coffee Society bright and early around 8AM. There were so many right's going on here: WIFI is strong (SCCL wifi), PLENTY of laptop outlets, the heater is ON full blast early in the mornings, the Korean owner is an absolute sweetheart--and he clearly knows how to make coffee art, and get this...ALL COFFEE DRINKS have a free first refill! Service is with a smile--as it should be for early morning go-ers! He has a great message written on the chalkboard when you enter the tiny shop, and it truly shows in his spirit when he works. He wants you to leave his shop happier than you entered...and that deserves 5 stars! The only bummer is that there isn't much space for groups of people. That's why I noticed (as the only camper) that people typically just walked in for their drinks/cafe foods, then left right after. However, I'm quite sure I'll be back to get another beautiful latte created by the man himself, especially since the location is conveniently next to the library! read more

This place has a lot of snacks and a small drink menu. Which is fine. They usually employ only one person at a time. Thus it goes by fairly slowly. There were like 3-4 people when I came this time and all I wanted was a tea. She would take one order, make the drink then take the next order. Sometimes, its a bit more efficient to take 3 orders, then work on all 3 at the same time... you can make 2 espressos at the same time, all while, filling a cup with hot water and a teabag. There was a girl who ordered a milk tea, but didn't really speak english. and the waitress was a bit impatient with her and kept asking house or jasmine? house or jasmine? The waitress kinda had a slight attitude but wasn't that mean to anybody else. I'd tend to avoid this place, but whatever. It's okay for just stopping in getting something quick. read more

I completely agree with Nancy that this is the cutest little coffee shop that is located next to the Cupertino Library. Wonderful service. Very clean and as Nancy pointed out, they have a little bit of everything. Like Chocolate Chip Cookies, which is my favorite kind of cookie. Lots of room, despite the fact that it is tiny. They also had a small offering of milkteas with an option to get boba or lychee added in. Prices were comparable to other coffee/boba shops. Minimal indoor seating, but it's conveniently located next to the Cupertino library and city hall. The staff were really friendly and helpful. I'v gotten Vanilla Chai Milk Tea: $2.75 It was okay. The chai made the drink not as a cold as I wanted to be. Interesting flavor Mango Peach Italian Soda- $3 Good but overpriced for what it is (flavored carbonated water) Lychee Jelly Jasmine Milk Tea- $2.75 Really sweet and the lychee jelly was hard to suck out. But the portion seemed okay. Overall, it's a nice spot in a convenient location next to the library and they also offer home-baked muffins and other snacks like ice cream, chips, cup noodles. Coffee Society is an absolutely lovely place. It's located next to the library and it's definitely a great place to retreat to for a break. It definitely has that warm-hearted vibe (from the baristas/employees and the other customers) that can definitely rub off some pieces of happiness on anyone having a bad day; a sour mood will turn into a pocket full of sunshine. The muffins are delicious-delicious, bomb diggity-dog! Coffee Society baked the muffins, brownies, croissants, cheese-filled croissants, cookies, etc. throughout the day, so they're not stale. They're filling and delicious. Also, sandwiches are made in the morning of the day -- tuna sandwich, ham and cheese sandwich, and egg-potato salad sandwich :) I actually really like the milk teas from here. Usually in other places it's SO sweet and it ruins the actual flavor of the tea... BUT because Coffee Society makes it with ACTUAL TEA, you can definitely taste the difference in quality. Very cozy spot next door to the library. I wish I could vouch for the coffee itself, but I gave into my sweet tooth and got the Oreo Frappe. I'm not actually sure if there was any caffeine in the mix. Pretty much tasted nothing but oreos, milk and chocolate syrup. I don't have a problem with that, but some people might. Also seating is kind of nonexistent. There are a couple tables, but if you have more than one person you won't be sitting across from each other. You'll be next to each other at best. But there's more seating outside if you're not afraid of the cold! Overall it's a small and chill shop with a basic menu. oh yes, I used to come here every now and then on Sundays and boy did I find myself a nice hideaway from the schoolwork that pained me in community college. If someone is giving me a hard time this place became my temporary shelter. I have grown an attraction to this place. This place is really quiet and has food that is affordable. It feels a lot like I went back to Singapore here. I personally prefer the cupcakes that are do the day before. Who would have ¢50 cupcakes or cookies? No one only here. The coffee, tea and other drinks is made with great care. One sip of cold water and all my anger is down the drain. I don't feel lonely here because the staff is really nice. Even better I knew the owner. She is a sweet Korean lady. The place is real clean and it feels at home. read more
