I love Bizou. Because I am into trying out new places, I have gone here on and off since they opened...but I always return. I always find the staff to be very pleasant and courteous. I'm never kept waiting and I'm always more than happy with the results. Any problems (albeit very few - maybe 1) are handled promptly and without making you feel like you are an inconvenience. Bizou Lash Studio - The 'Angelina' - Eyelash Service Near Me - Edmonton, Alberta

I took the plunge and got eyelash extensions from Bizou today. I really had no idea what the process was, how long it would take, anything. But I went in with an open mind, hoping simply to get gorgeous lashes by the end of it. The studio is really nice and clean, with fancy mirrors everywhere and a pretty table where you sit down with your lash stylist. Although I never actually learned her name, my girl was nice, and went through all of the information with me before heading over to the bed. That sounds really odd, but you lie down on a bed-type-sofa for the extensions. Ladies, if you wear contact lenses like me, don't wear them to the appointment. The process starts with the stylist taping your eyes nearly shut, and holy heck, were mine ever watering. I was really glad I decided to wear my glasses today. The first ten minutes or so are uncomfortable. Not painful, but very uncomfortable. I pushed through it, and eventually it was totally fine. I barely even noticed the tape after a while. The rest of the hour went by pretty quickly, all things considered. You can't see anything, you can just feel the stylist gently attaching the lashes on top of your own. I really had no idea what time it was or how close we were to being done, but it was over before I expected. The music helped the time go by quickly, although they really need to update their tunes. (Dido and Whitney Houston? I'll take Katy Perry and Britney Spears, please.) Overall, the experience was a little weird, but it didn't hurt a bit, which was my one biggest fear. And, I now have gorgeous, dark, long curly lashes that I'm simply in love with! A full set will run you close to $100 (cash only), and you're expected to get fillers three weeks later for another $60. While I'm happy with my first experience, I can't say yet with certainty that it will be worth it to go back and spend so much more. I suppose only three weeks time will tell! read more

I decided on Bizou Lash Studio because of the high yelp reviews and my cousin comes here and loves it. I was able to get an appointment the same day I called which is highly unlikely because of how busy this place is. My appointment was at 4:30pm and I was a little bit early but I didn't have to wait long because the girl came to get me at 4:20 PM which is great! I like how thorough they are with explaining the different lashes and options you can get. I decided on the J lashes and the angelina style. The chair/sofa/bed they put you on while doing your lashes are very comfortable and I easily took a nap. The girl doing the lash service was extremely professional and friendly. I love my lashes they look great, it looks natural with a hint of flare. I will definitely come back and try a different style to create a different look. read more

This is the only place I have been for lash extensions (in which I do not go often) but I'm not looking for a new place. The last time I went in, the prices went up quite a bit and no one had mentioned prior to my appointment. At any esthetic place, you think they would let you know before hand so you can show up prepared especially since they used to be cash only. That is in part the reason for the rating I'm giving today but also the fact that I've never had a full set last more than two weeks. I'm not sure if that's just how lashes work or if it's just Bizou Studio. On a final note, the turnover of girls seems really high there so that's usually a red flag to me read more

She did an excellent job and the price is quite good. Will update if they don't hold as long as expected. I opted for the synthetic mink, and I can't really tell the difference from my regular synthetics, but they look nice. Not quite as full as when I get them done at my usual place in Kelowna, but they're more expensive there and these still look great. Definitely will come back. I love this place!! it's located on whyte ave so be prepared to hunt for parking!! The ladies are very nice and resourceful, they clearly know what they are doing. This place was the first I went to to get my eyelash extensions and the lady did them very well!! I continued to go for a few months then stopped because it was pricey to fill. I've been seeing Cathy at Bizou Lash Studio for a couple years now. I travel alot for my business and move around so I'm not the most regular client but I ALWAYS go back because she's the best! My lashes always last long and they are very reasonably price (just under $100 CDN for a full set. Bring CASH as they don't have debit or accept cc) Bizou is centrally located on Whyte Avenue. Sometimes parking is a challenge but only if you are running late. lol Leave extra time for parking, if you go North you can generally find street parking or there is a lot one block north to pay park in. I have very sensitive skin and eyes and even though sometimes using the strong glue can cause my eyes to water, Cathy gives me a kleenex to hold and it's very bearable. Also I love their variety playlist! It's very eclectic and offers something for everyone. I also recommend you book in the morning or afternoon so you can go next door to Julio's Bario and enjoy a margarita or a meal. read more

TERRIBLE experience Where do I even begin? I have never written a terrible review before, but this place REALLY deserves it. I chose Bizou based on the two girls who ran it and their reputation for doing a good job. I had a new staff member put my eye lashes on. She never did introduce herself. I had to ask questions about the process to have them explained to me in a snappy, short manner. My "esthetician's" hands smelled absolutely terrible and she did not wash them prior to my service. I had to ask TWICE to have my eye tape readjusted because it was left open too much and my eye was spasming. This seemed to be a HUGE inconvience that I asked this. My esthetician left the room a few times and having your eyes taped shut, it would be nice to be made aware if they are going to be leaving the room for prolonged periods of time. I was made to feel very uncomfortable. After I was done, I looked in the mirror and noticed that some of my eye lashes were glued INSIDE the lash line, in my eye. I then asked who I can only assume was the owner if this was normal and she fixed them for me. She offered a short and curt "Sorry" and did discount me $20 off of my service when I explained my displeasure with their service. She seemed more annoyed with me than anything. Because of how the OWNER handled this, I have went out of my way to NOT recommend this place to any of my friends who ask where I had my lashes done. I have heard many good things about Lash Affair and will try them next time. Bizou did an OK job but needs to brush up on their professionalism skills,. I also did not expect to pay full price for an unexperienced new staff member to provide the service. read more

I had my lashes done at Bizou Lash Studio for my engagement photos and for my wedding day and they looked fabulous! For my engagement photos, I went with a more natural look and for my wedding, I went with a dramatic look. You're able to select the length, curliness and how you want your eyes to look. The result of the lashes really defined my eyes in the pictures. The process of getting the lashes was painless. I had no side effects or anything from the glue they use. I was surprised at how long the lashes lasted because I have oily skin. Before trying Bizou, I would wear the strip lashes from the drugstore and they would fall off by the end of the night. The girls that did my lashes each time were professional and pleasant. The studio is also quite modern and chic, located upstairs, just off Whyte Ave. I would definitely recommend Bizou to anyone looking to have lashes done! read more

I have been going to bizou for about 6 months. Eyelash extentions are one of my new very most favorite things . So girly! I get semi's done (or "clusters") I change the length , style, shape and thickness all the time, from natural looking to very glamorous. My last appointment I asked about individual extentions for a very natural look and Stevie (the girl i see almost every time) checked out my natural lashes to see if they were still taken care of, growing, the lash cycle was healthy etc. and said that it would definatly be possible because i take care of my lashes. (After all you are gluing plastic to very fine hair) . Stevie warned me about potential loss of lashes doing the extentions and gave me tips and tricks to help the longevity of my lashes and to what not to do to pull out my natural lashes. She also takes her time with removing the tape from my upper lid and uses vaciline to help the tape slide off easier. Even though shes very gentle sometimes my eyes tear up when i'm having a removal done so she always has a tissue ready for me to wipe it away, and a moist make-up-remover style cloth for me after the removals done to i can wipe off my lids and lash line and check on my lashes before applying a new set. read more

I've been going to Cathy at Bizou for a couple of years now and am always happy with the results. I appreciate that my lashes always look natural and I never have any irritation. I'm always able to get in for an appointment when I need it. I've also been to a couple of the other ladies there and they are great also. It's always consistent. read more

Bad experience with Bizou. I had my lashes done by Bizou three times before my eyelashes became thin and sparse. Eyes and lashes would hurt after receiving lash extensions. After seeking out lash extensions from another extensionist, I was told that Bizou had been glueing the lashes right on to my eye lid and not being careful during the extraction of single lashes for each extension was causing the pain, irritation and loss of regrowth. Painful experience and disappointed in the quality of the application of lashes. read more

I've been a loyal client at Bizou Lash Studio for almost 3 years. I love the lashes that they put on me and they've given me more femininity and sultriness (so I've been told) to my appearance and therefore, they've also given me WAY more confidence. The studio is very clean, pretty and feminine with a modern twist on 17th C. French decor. The technicians are very nice and professional with their applications (although the taping of your eyelids can be very uncomfortable at times and you may have to let them know or else it may get downright painful). I usually go here to get my lashes done and have even recommended it to others that have wanted to get lash extensions because they used to be able to say that they were the only EXCLUSIVE lash application studio, offering no other services, (I'm not sure if they still are or not) and they also have the cheapest prices in town. Their business is very small and they are very busy with their clients, so they haven't had time to go high-tech yet (they don't have mobile terminals-you have to pay cash up front, their website hasn't changed and isn't interactive yet, and they still use a paper booking appointment system) which is why they have managed to keep their costs down. I should mention that, in all my 3 years, I have only had a few instances where I've encountered major issues with my lashes (one was due to my hormones and the other due to an allergic reaction to the stronger glue) and they have been fair enough to offer me discounts or a complimentary service when those instances happened. However, sometimes they can be sticklers with their policies because their business is very small - so make sure you show up on time or give cancellation notice prior to 24 hours or you will need to pay the cancellation fee. I have noticed that, since they have popped up on the scene, other competitors have also popped up to give them a run for their money. I still love Bizou Lash Studio overall but they may want to start going high-tech soon (an online booking tool or mobile terminals would be great) and be a little more flexible on their policies in order to get the upper hand with their competitors on customer service. read more

Having had badly done lash extensions from a more expensive salon, I can say this was a very good experience and for almost half the price I paid previously I'm very happy. I didn't enjoy all the tape they put around your eyelids during the process but my guess is it makes a big difference in the end result, because they look and feel great. I'm not sure I'll be a regular due to the high cost but for special occasions and vacations I will go back to Bizou! read more

I will never go back there, They had shorten my left eyelashes now without them and with mascara they are a way shorter. Second the owner was very rude, you ask for something and you don't get it, and they haven't lasted more than 2 weeks. I am no novice when it comes to having lashes but I wanted to try somewhere new. Because I'd heard such good things about this place, I decided to give it a try. First the girl took 2 and 1/2 hours to do them and then she could barely get the tape off at the end. And then to top it all off my lashes were all falling off after only 4 days and they destroyed my real lashes. When I called to cancel my fill i got the machine which is the norm for this place and good luck getting a call back in a timely manner, which I never did. I explained what happened and how unhappy I was and I left my number and no one has yet to call me back and this was a few weeks ago. Ladies save your money, look elsewhere. read more

I got my lashes done about a week and 4 days from now. I was very happy with how they looked but was really surprised when a good amount of them fell out the next day (I followed all the rules they gave me and did not get it wet until I took a shower two days from my first appointment.) I tried to book an appointment for them to look at it but unfortunately something very important came up that I had to cancel my appointment. I decided to wait to get a fill the following week and booked an appointment for Thursday. I now have to cancel that appointment since all of my lashes fell out before my appointment fill while I was in the shower (all the lash extensions fell from my real lashes after I got out of the shower.) I was also bothered by the stinging sensation I felt everytime my eyes got wet. It was probably a reaction with the glue and my eyes that made it sting everytime my eyes were wet. Bizou is okay for eyelash extensions, I've had about 5 sets/fills done with them. That said, they are not the best at applying eyelashes, at least in my experience. They don't use a strong enough adhesive, so the lashes mostly fall out after two weeks. I got mine done at noir lash lounge in calgary and they looked much better + I still didn't need a fill after 4 weeks! Some of the technicians are very friendly, others are very cold. All in all, I don't think I'd go back to bizou because my most recent set only lasted about 10 days, which is ridiculous for the $89 I spent. read more

I made an appointment here to get eyelash extensions a year ago before my vacation....and I got addicted! They look so natural and pretty and now I don't need to mess around with eye makeup every morning. My eyelashes are applied in about an hour and 15 mins to an hour and a half and the beds are comfortable, so it is relaxing and I sometimes sleep. The price is a lot cheaper than some of the other places as well. I use the same technician every time and she is pretty good about getting me an appointment even though they get pretty busy in the summer. All in all, great experience! read more

A friend had recommended this place to me as her mom and sister were loyal customers if theirs. I had eyelash extensions once before this and had a horrible experience so i figured as it is a eyelash only studio and was recommended i would give it a try. So, my first appt i didnt really know what to expect. It was pretty staright forward though. They used regular tape on my eyelids which was pretty uncomfortable and made my eyes water like crazy. My eyelashes looked great when they were finished so i thought, hey, no big deal my eyes watered!! Within 2 days eyelashes were falling off left and right and was very noticeable when looking at my lashes. I called the studio and was told it could be due to many different things, the growth cycle of my lashes, sleeping on them, how i took care of them, etc. I went in for a fill early cuz i looked funny. And again when they were done they looked great but within a few days they began to fall out in clumps. I figured this is how eyelash extensions are so i just continued gettn fills. Since then, i have gone to other eyelash studios just to try tjem out and 3 weeks after my eyelashes still look fantastic and i havent done anything different. I recommend not going to this place!! Terrible customer service. I was put on the waiting list to get lashes done & was called & told that there was an opening the following day. I missed the call but called back within a minute to tell them I would take the spot & to call me back if anything changed, or I would just see them the next day. I received no call back, so I assumed I had the appointment. When I got to the salon, I was greeted by a very rude employee & after a few confusing details, I was told that my spot had been taken. I never received any call that the spot was gone, so I wasted an entire morning driving into the city for nothing. The staff didn't offer to put me on the waiting list for that day or even apologized for the misunderstanding, they basically just sent me on my way. I am completely shocked & offended by the service I received from these staff members, especially after all the amazing reviews I had read about this place. I would rather go somewhere that had mediocre skills with amazing customer service rather than go somewhere where the staff were incredibly rude. I will not be returning to this salon ever again. read more

My daughter had her eyelashes done and they started falling out within three days. She has had them done before and cared for them as she was told to. When I called the salon, I was told they didn't have time to see her to fix them before her vacation. I insisted that they make the time to see her, as the whole reason she had them done was for her vacation, and they shouldn't start falling out after three days. The person who checked her in was EXTREMELY RUDE. She told her that they see people all the time and it wasn't their glue, but then went on to say that they don't use the strongest glue on new clients.....so......it was the glue that they used. I wouldn't be giving a bad review if she was polite and just willing the fix the problem, but she was so rude it was ridiculous. Very unprofessional. I can't believe that anyone would return to a salon where the person, that I'm pretty sure was the owner or manager, treats clients so disrespectfully. Needless to say-won't be returning! read more
