The customer service was great and quick! Everyone was extremely nice and very humorous. There's barely any wait time. Employees are very helpful. Everything is in great condition. I definitely will be returning in the near future for sure. read more

I never write Yelp reviews but I felt so disrespected by the two blonde ladies at the front desk that I had to. I called ahead to get the scoop instead of just booking online. Spoke to Wayne who seemed like such a cool guy. He told me Saturdays were super busy so if I could get there at 8:30am, I could rent whatever I want, wouldn't wait in a line, and didn't need a reservation. Sure enough, my bf and I left our house at 5am to get there exactly when he said, only to be greeted by the two rudest women I have ever met. They turned me right away as soon as I got there (we were literally the only people there) and as soon as I said I talked to Wayne, she said well fine I guess we have to let you in. While checking us in I wanted to get a UTV, she just gave us the worst ATVs and I didn't even know what I was paying for. She asked me if I wanted 1 hour or 2 hours, I tried to ask how much, and she so rudely interrupted me and was like "I JUST NEED TO KNOW IF YOU WANT ONE HOUR OR TWO HOURS?!" I honestly couldn't believe someone could be so rude. This has been on our bucket list for years and supposed to be a fun day, but since those front desk ladies hate their job so much, I guess they want to make you have a miserable time too. I had to give one star because Yelp makes me and the guys on the beach and the lady who shuttled us down the beach were cool. Fun to ride on the dunes, would do it again, just would never rent from them again. read more

The Best ATV rentals in Pismo is BJ's. The very first time we visited this place I had great time, awesome ride and great pictures in sand dunes. Excellent service. Deserve 5 stars. Best bikes, first time riding. Thanks to BJ's ATV Rentals. read more

Great experience. The staff from making on site reservations, to paying to picking up the ATVs was all great. Very friendly people. The gents on the beach with the ATVs explained everything very well and were very polite and friendly. Good experience all around. Oh, and the ATVs were fun to ride. read more

Terrible experience! I had to think hard if there is a way to squeeze in one more star for this business but couldn't find a valid reason to do so. Rude staff! Non professional service! We went to reserve the ATVs for a group of 20 in the morning. First impression I got was the don't care and non welcoming attitude of the staff. Second for a very simple request they asked me to repeat the information slowly multiple times, during that time an older lady at the counter yelled at her colleague assisting us "tell them to pay everything upfront if the reservation is later in the day" as if we were not planning to. We ended up making reservation for afternoon and were asked to show up 15 min earlier for waivers. We showed up 30-40 min earlier just in case and there was a big line that never cleared for another 30min. We asked our reservation time is coming and can we jump the line to take care of the paper work at which point we were told they will honor everyone in line in sequence whether they have reservations or not. And that there is no certainty when they can put us on ATVs - it could be and hour or even more beyond the reserved time. Another lady made a comment "if you hold us in these useless conversations your start time will be further delayed" WAIT WHAT. At that time I decided to pull the plug and after throwing a lot of tantrums they verbally agreed they will cancel the trip. read more

This was an overall wonderful experience for our party of 16! Bandanas are sold in the office with a large variety of colors and designs. This was a plus since I forgot mine at home. The gentlemen on the beach were helpful and attentive. I made two calls from the course and BJ's responded immediately.) The only "bad part" was that the beginning process was slow due to our large number (paperwork, helmet fitting and waiting for available ATVs.) read more

I have always been to angellos up the street my whole life. My girlfriend wanted to go atving and I was checking yelp out and saw bjs had great reviews. We tried them this morning and we got in real fast, front desk guy was chill, the staff was very professional. They even let us ride a hour later for free. We paid for 2 hours and got 3. We only rode for 2 hours because it was enough but we could of went longer which was really cool. I definitely will only go to bjs from here on out. read more

BJ's ATV Rentals - About to hit the dunes - Motorcycle Dealers Near Me - Oceano, California

It was a good place to rent atv's in Pismo. There was a great variety of vehicles and accessories to choose from. The staff in the storefront was very courteous, knowledgable and helpful. Our family had a great time, and it would have garnered 5 stars if not for 2 things. 1. Even with a reservation, the wait in line at the store can be very long. I think we were there for about 45 minutes before we were seen and checked in. However...it was a holiday weekend, so I will give them some slack, as you can only do so much with the trained help you have on hand. 2. The gentleman on the beach (where you get the ATV's) neglected to tell us that our younger son's Kawasaki 90 was a shifter. It is listed on the website as "Fully Automatic", and they call it an automatic...but in reality they just put it in 2nd gear and hope the kids don't shift by mistake. Well...unfortunately they do shift by mistake. Very easily. Wondering why my son (a pretty good first time rider) was lagging behind...we hear another rider passing us yelling "He needs to shift, he's winding out". We were a little confused at first, because: - We couldn't hear his bike's engine since he was behind us...so we thought he was just going slow. - It says "Fully Automatic" on the website and they even said it was automatic...so why would he need to shift? Anyhow...thinking it was a much larger issue, we slowly trekked back to the staging area, only to have them tell us..."Yeah, it's really a shifter bike, but we put it in 2nd and let them ride". Well..damn, had I known, we would NOT have wasted our riding time coming all the way back on the beach to get that info. We spent our last 15 minutes just riding around the immediate area. The kids had some fun, but we were all kinda bummed because we lost a good 30-45 minutes of riding time over a non-issue. We'll definitely come back, but this time we know what to look out for. read more

Came in and was greeted right away. They gave us a 10$ ( gas discount) for checking into yelp. We were in and out and the staff was great, patient with us while we picked out our stuff. When we got to the beach the dude was great helping us and recommending us the right atv for us. 165$ for 2 hours for 2 bikes! Well worth it. Will be back again. Thanks guys! read more

The service was great the information and knowledge of the equipment was very informative and helpful they knew their stuff... They recommend Atv's for us they did not try to sell us the most expensive ones...they knew we were beginners and they gave us a really good run down on how to drive and be safe.... The only bad thing was the wait time on the beach for our pick up we waited about 45 min to a hour which cut into our riding time but they gladly reimbursed us for the 30 min time loss with no problem will for sure go back and ride with BJ read more

Save yourself the hassle and bring your own atvs! The process is so long to rent these little run down toys that are falling apart. Not a lot of power either trust me you need it if you get stuck in a deep dune, had to help a buddy of mine pull his out. read more

This was my first time Riding an ATV, when we looked at their website for pricing and hours it's showed $62 for 2hr rental. We got to the shop and waiting over an hour in line to rent. When it came time to pay we were charged $82 for the 2hr rental. We figured we are there the weekend before 4th of July and maybe this was their holiday price. This was not listed anywhere on their site that I saw. After waiting so long to rent we just paid and went on with our day. I had a lot of fun, although I was really frustrated in the beginning because I got stuck and had to sit and wait for my party to realize I wasn't behind them anymore and come back to help. The reason I mention this is when they give you the crash course on the gears/gas/break etc. they should quickly tell you what to do in the even you do get stuck. But it was a great experience overall. I would do it again. read more

After reading the reviews you would think this place is worth it right ??? Nope ! Don't waste your money . Let's start off with the customer service , there were two blondes working up front and omg they were the slowest people ever . Unprofessional , unorganized , and on top of all that one of the ladies decided to yell at our party saying "keep our voices down were too loud ". I get that but it's how you say it . It's very clear they had attitudes . After waiting for 45 min we finally paid for our rentals and headed to the beach . When we got there it was a long line and only one person was working , you could tell she was overwhelmed . You had to choose your helmet and they give you lysol to spray inside that's it . They don't give out masks covers so I recommend you bring your own scarf and face mask . The Instructors were horrible they only teach you how to turn the ATV on and off , Basically you have to teach yourself . I had to ask people for help a couple of times smh . It's time for them to upgrade their equipment everything was old . I had a 250ex which looked like it was about to fall apart . Uggh I will never go back to this place . read more

2 hours of awesome fun. ALL in all this was an awesome experience. I had a blast. The only thing I didn't like and am taking a star off for is the staff interaction after you get your helmets. Those guys seemed like zombies and did not want to offer any real customer service. When we asked them questions (since i was an ATV virgin) they had really short responses. Other then that all the other employees I reacted with were awesome. read more

I thought BJ's was the best ATV rentals in Pismo after reading yelp. I was wrong :( 1.called them a day in advance and asked about sharing ATV and it was all good, went there in morning and surprise !! sharing is only for 2 people and $10 extra, really ? $92 total for 2 hrs of Yamaha 250x 2.Bjs is neither biggest nor the economical atv rentals there you will realize it after seeing the prices of Sunbuggy & Steves atv rental price near the beach entrance. 3. most important: the ATV pick up location is more than 1 mile away from the beach & you can't reach there without getting ur feet wet, there are some creeks. So you book & pay in their office and drive to the beech, find a parking if you can then get their ride if you can locate it. We couldn't locate their pick up point because there weren't ANY, office staff give clear instructions how to locate ur ride!! I wouldn't recommend this place, I should have gone near to the beach entrance and booked it from there & got a pick-up from their office to the ATV pick-up area There are at-least 2 better options next to the beach read more

Me and my girlfriend rented atv here twice in the same weekend. The customer service was very polite and professional. It was my girlfriend first time riding and atv and the instructions to operate was pretty simple. Just don't drive reckless and you will have an enjoyable time and stop at top of each dune. The staff and crew was very helpful and polite. I will be back. read more

This is the best place in the world over 1200 acera of sand and free ride. I would ride all day if I could. you can even camp there. Lots of hotels around and restaurants I highly recommend it as a get a way they also have dune buggy's I found a 18 wheeler that was turned into a mini beach shop. They also offer free shuttle rides from the beach to the ATV rental. read more

This was the worst experience ever and it was my first time on ATVs . The people in the office will judge you by your appearance. Their tone of voice changed when they saw people of their race blocked in and on top of that the guys on the beach handing out ATVs discriminated me and my people by mocking us of our language. I'm never going back there again. read more

OVERDUE: Our trip was sept 2012. We got lost trying to find this place. It's a small rental office that was right infront of our faces! Lol. Very close to the dunes :) At the rental office, pay, sign forms (waivers etc.) and pick your helmets. The staff was really nice and helpful while we filled out our forms. We then drove to the dunes. Met up with the instructors whom were very chill and they taught us everything. Before they let you go on your own, you all have to do a test run. They also warned us about these plastic pole flags on our atvs will break if you fall, so be careful. My bf did end up breaking his, but they didn't charge us. Can't wait to go back! read more

My roommate and I went ATV riding today and it was AWESOME! The woman at the front desk was very helpful and informative about safety guidelines. Troy, the employee who showed us how to ride was extremely friendly. Great customer service! We had so much fun, despite falling once. Highly recommend that you wear long pants and sturdy shoes as you may get some battle wounds. Take precaution at the edge of dunes, the drop may be too steep for the bike you have. Overall it was the best experience ever and will be back again! Thank you! :) read more

We come to BJ's every time we are in Pismo. Been here about 5 times but this is the first review. My daughter called to make the reservation and said the lady over the phone was pretty rude. Once we arrived though both ladies were very pleasant and helpful. Although I don't remember the $100.00 deposit per person to ride, whatever! We rode for two hours and had a blast. My friend kept getting stuck seeing this was her first time and the guy that came out was great. He even hung around to help the other three times she got stuck. He was there when we needed him. read more

Had such an amazing time! Went with a group of 7, and Sherry and Lucy hooked us up! They made sure we knew all the ropes, gave us great directions down to the beach where we met our driver in a timely manner. They also were courteous, funny, and made sure our helmets fit correctly! Everyone was aware we were coming and made sure we had a great time once on the beach. Only $82 for two hours which is the perfect time. $100 deposit. read more

Showed up early for our 2pm reservation, waited 45 minutes for our turn in line (there were 8 people in front of us), after that wait, it took another 45 minutes to check us in (aka, sign waivers and whatnot, this after we had made online reservations). The woman was completely discombobulated, she thought I overpaid, refunded me eight dollars then had to redo all the paperwork because she found she made a mistake and then had to charge me 30 dollars to correct it. They were supposed to have goggles, but they quit loaning/renting them so we had a lot of sand in the eyes, tough on the kids. We finally got out of there, only to be told that it was unlikely we'd have the bikes we reserved (since we were late, we weren't they just take too long checking folks in). Got to the beach finally, and encountered another unorganized group of yahoos. We already had helmets so we skipped what appeared to be the helmet line (another endless and unmoving line) and got into the bike line. Got our bikes and we were off. Well, not exactly. One of the kids bikes had a problem, kept stalling, so we had to wait another 20 minutes to get that swapped out. Off we went. Kids had a blast, but we had to cut it short because we had dinner reservations (bike reservations were for 2pm, didn't get out on the dunes until 4:30pm). Got back, checked out and learned that we were supposed to wait in the long helmet line, punk kid actually yelled (he has a long way to go). Got through that, then only had to wait another 30 minutes for the return shuttle. I have never experienced this many fails doing business with a company that has been around as long as they have. I'v heard good things about Steve's, gonna give them a go next time. read more

RENTERS BEWARE!!! HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!The counter staff does not tell you the whole truth. Checked in to rent ATV's. I was shown a map that was drawn by a child. I am not joking. Crayons on paper! I was told to walk 1/2 mile between orange mesh and homes until I arrived at the creek. Once we arrived at the creek, I was told that "locals" were going to meet us and drive us to their rental location on the beach. Unbeknownst to me, it was a mile walk, and I was required to cross through the creek. When I called the office upset because no one told me about crossing through the creek, the rude woman hung up the phone. WTH?!? When I called back and asked why the rude woman hung up, I was told she was upset. By the way, this is the number they tell you to call in case of emergency. Never in the history of ever, have I experienced such behavior from a business. They need customer service training!! read more

Check in so quick with reservations for Memorial Day weekend. Staff super friendly and efficient. Atvs are hit or miss, as some don't function very well.
