As a child I remember BJ's not being that great in terms food. I recently went back as an adult and really enjoyed the meal. I had a Caesar salad and broccoli cheddar soup (a perfect lunch). For dessert we had a warm cookie with ice cream and really enjoyed the meal. The restaurant was not very busy and we were able to sit down immediately. It's Sunday, early evening. I just ate at BJ's Aurora Mall location. I was greeted promptly by the hostess and as I was by myself opted to sit at the bar. (I hate to take up a table when it's just me. I shouldn't have worried as the place was not busy at all.) I ordered the prime rib dinner at $37.99. On the surface, a great value. The wedge salad was fine. As was the Happy Hour margarita at $6. I should have started to worry when my salad plate was never cleared and the entrée arrived. The portion size was generous. The sides, asparagus and rice pilaf were also fine. At this point I was virtually ignored by the waiter. He never checked to see how my prime was cooked (fortunately it was fine but seriously under seasoned) and hey, would you like another margarita? I did but he didn't give a shit. He later said his crap service was due to being "too busy" but he walked by my untended table 6 times without so much as a passing glance. I had a dessert as part of my meal but was I was disgusted, I asked for the check and left. I paid $50 in cash for a $47 tab and I was far too generous. Needless to say, I won't be back. read more

There were 7 of dining in and the service was less than satisfactory. We received our starters before receiving our drinks and had to remind the server of our drink order. The chicken tortilla soup was extremely salty and was not fresh, it seemed like it was the leftovers from the bottom of the barrel (perhaps that is why it was so salty), and in addition, it was room temperature. The pita from the Mediterranean chicken pita tacos was burnt to the point that it was charcoal black and crumbling. The cook was 100% aware and decided to plate it anyway, as well as the server who brought it to the table. We showed it to the server who then acknowledged and took the taco that was burnt and replaced it. The manager, nor anyone else bothered to come to the table afterwards to ask if everything was ok. In our experience, this restaurant is not worth the time, money or calories. read more

I would like to preface this review by saying that all of my intentions are to help the owners and mangers identify opportunities, not to complain for the sake of complaining. I can usually identify when I am going to receive poor service the minute I walk into a place by how I am greeted. This was no exception. Our party of two showed up at 1105am right after opening. We were not greeted although we stood at the host stand for minute or so watching the manger, and 3 servers all at the front talking about other matters .... Once they finished their conversation, the hostess turned to us & greeted us, nicely ... and proceeded to seat us. We sat and waited more than five minutes watching servers walk around the restaurant in circles not even looking our direction. My lunch date decided to alert the hostess to the fact that we had not seen a server yet. A few minutes later, a young man stopped by and said he'd be our server until our real server was out of the bathroom. He took our drink order and our food order , as we had had time to choose what we wanted. Another 5 minutes passed and had not seen drinks. We opted to go to the bar where we saw there was a bartender who we thought would provide more attentive service. We passed the young man who took our order & asked him to transfer our tab to the bar. The bartender Nikki was kind and attentive. Although we did have to ask for water. Our food showed up at 1140. By burger was fine, but the fries were not close to hot. This seemed odd as it was the first order of fries served in the restaurant that morning. My dates mahi tacos however were terrible. The extremely fishy tasting very small bits of fished seemed microwaved.... And to boot they were smothered in the slaw that was the garnish.... They were truly slaw tacos with a bite or two of mahi ..... had the mahi tasted good , maybe wouldn't have minded ... it was a poor execution with poor product. Nikki checked in promptly & we let her know the tacos were no very good. Her immediate response was that she'd have a manger take care of it. We had no expectations of reimbursement & only wanted to be honest about the food. We never saw a manager & nobody asked what was wrong with the tacos. When settling up, Nikki informed us that the manager comped the tacos, which was nice because they were not eaten. I am surprised there was no research done to correct missteps moving forward. Had it not been for Nikki providing good service this would be a one star. I've eaten at a few bjs in the past and know this is not the standard. I would like to add that I do not feel any of the experience that we had is related to Covid. I have been in the industry for 26 years... and like I said in the beginning... If I walk into a restaurant... and there's nobody else in there ... and the manager standing 5 ft from me doesn't even bother to greet me.... It sets the tone for me, for the staff and for the general atmosphere. I hope that sharing this helps this location be more successful in the future. read more

My husband and I ordered this on a whim while looking for a new place to try. I got the mini pizza and my husband got their nacho's and jambalaya. The pizza was perfect, the nacho's come in a huge pizza box and could easily feed 3! He ordered extra rice for the jambalaya and found that made it perfect as it's a little light otherwise for his tastes. We also got the salted caramel pizookie which was hands down the BEST dessert I've ever had. Was heaven! We've also had their tri-tip & that was also good. Worst food ever. Ordered the jambalaya. Uncooked veggies, steamed chicken and the seasoning sprinkled on the side of the bowl like Cajun seasoning coke lines. Like I could have literally filled my seasoning shaker up at home if I saved it. The shrimp was whiter than me. It didn't have the sausage either. I asked for them to take it back. They comp it and mixed it up and tried to give it back to me. Now it looks like something that sat in the back of the fridge for a week. The waitress knew when she brought it out and tried to upsell it to me like it was amazing and I should be excited. Her words were " I know it looks bland but it is amazing" When we brought up it wasn't right then she changed to say "I knew it wasn't right and I even question the kitchen ". So why bring it to me? My only wish was that I took a picture of this hideous concoction they were thrilled to give me. To add to the situation they are sweeping the floor literally an arms reach from us while we are eating and the restaurant was not busy. Of course the person cooking is to blame but if you are the server and you knew it was not right and, you state that to us why do you not want more for your customer. Visited BJ's for dinner this week with my brother and mom. They were pretty busy, but they were still on top of things with service. They got us seated very quickly and out server was very attentive even though she was a bit forgetful. All of us enjoyed out meals and loved the Chocolate Chunk Pazookie for dessert! Haven been to BJ in Aurora, CO many times, we were truly disappointed with our visit on 12/11/23. First, it seems our server was having a bad day. It took over 10 minutes for the server to take our order after being taken to our table. We arrived around 5:00 pm and the restaurant was busy. Second, we ordered the Vanilla Cream and Root Beer drinks. Again, the order was very slow and when the server brought them to our table, he didn't bring coasters. Coasters would be helpful since the glass developed water on the table. Again, we asked for the coaster, but again the service was slow. Third, we ordered the classic cheeseburger with fries. We asked to have the order split and the burger to be cooked to medium. When the order was delivered, it wasn't split and again the service was slow. He didn't ask if was would like ketchup. I waited over five minutes for some ketchup, which I had to ask another employee and it was delivered immediately. Fourth, as we were finishing our dinner, we had to wait over 10 minutes for our check. When he did come, he asked if we would like dessert, to which we replied no. He stormed away from the table. It took another 10 minutes just to receive our ticket. Because of poor service, I only tip him $3.00. In addition, I commented on the receipt, "Poor Customer Service - He needs to go back to training on how to be a better server." In closing, we were extremely disappointed at the poor service. I. Love. This. Restaurant. Every time I come here, I forget how much I love it. I've been here multiple times over the years and every visit is a great one! Solid staff. I met with my bff here for dinner last week and had not only the best service but the most delicious beer at happy hour and some damn good hot wings! Don't go here if u want what you ordered or want any kind of customer service. We have been frequent enough customers over the past 7 years sometimes in person other times via DoorDash. We live less than 3 miles away. In the past two weeks we have been here once in person and another via DoorDash. The in person experience was awful. They didn't have one item we ordered and didn't come back to tell us until significant time had passed then that meal came out 15 minutes before everyone else's. And the server was never around and they were not busy. About a week later we order thru DoorDash and I paid the express delivery so it came straight to me. My dasher was there waiting for a while. When we get the order it's all wrong, missing ingredients, missing half of meals - the only thing right was the side salad. And it's ice cold - how is that possible when the dasher was there waiting for it and I live less than 3 miles away. We had to put what we could eat in the microwave and heat it up. At this point I am about over it - you have one job and you have failed twice. In the past 2 weeks I have spent over $400 and both experiences were awful. I called to speak to a manager and was put on hold forever only to be told that it's busy and can they call me back. Apparently delivery customers are just not as important as people there - doesn't matter that I am hungry ordered food expecting to get what I paid a lot of money for and now have nothing to eat. We've been to this chain quite a bit in Phoenix, this first time here . The drinks were spot on. We had the Blood Orange Pom Sangria, because it's Sangria. Well this Sangria has Fireball whiskey and it has a nice kick. Ordered avocado egg rolls. Tasty but a bit pricey. Plenty on the plate for sharing. The food: It was a bit busy, yes Friday night busy. It finally came delivered by a chef and both the salmon dish and my Portobello buger were both warm/lukewarm. I'm hungry so I scarfed it down it was good but a bit dry. Since it wasn't hot it wasn't juicy like I've usually received it. My other half was starving so he ate his salmon,warm but not hot. His side's were a bit on the cold side. Great experience. So impressed with the service and fancy restaurant interior. I ordered the California chicken club sandwich, made with delicious grilled chicken and avocado. Very tasty. It was a large portion so I only ate half, one order is enough for two. I saved room for dessert and must say the original chocolate chunk Pizookie was the best part of the meal. But the vanilla bean ice cream was even better than the cookie! Generous portion as well. The menu is extensive, similar to the Cheesecake Factory's menu and I would say it is priced the same too. Great spot for date night, parties, events, or a meal to have with friends. Happy hour options include the BJs Brewhouse burger, tortilla chips with salsa or guac, and more. Nothing beats the BJs locations in Los Angeles, specifically the location at Topanga but it's great to have a BJs here in CO and this location was lovely too. read more

I usually like this place when I go in person so it's a shame that twice the delivery has been subpar the last two times. I've ordered the wedge salad for delivery twice and both times received the "F-you" amount of lettuce shown in the picture. The pathetic amount of other ingredients is also shown. Wow, this restaurant is fancy! My wife and I came here for dinner on Memorial Day, and had a wonderful time. The service was excellent, our server was super tentative and checked on us frequently. Nothing was too much for him. On the food side of things, we started with the homemade guacamole and chips, which was delicious. For the main course I had the BJ's Brewhouse Burger, and for desert had the famous pizookie. The whole meal was outstanding, the food was extremely fresh and tasty. If I could give this place less then 1 star I would! Horrible service. They "lost" our food it took them 10 minutes to bring us our drinks. Then after waiting 1 hour for our food that they finally found it was ice cold! We asked our waitress to get a manager to which she said I don't know where she is. So we asked another waiter and this female manager came over stating she was one of the managers. We explained the entire issue to which she said I'm sorry what do you want me to do about it? A really good spot near the Aurora City North Center. The wait staff was really nice and attentive. We even asked our waiter for drink recommendations and he gave us some really good ones, including the margarita flight. I've never seen a margarita flight before.. why isn't that more common? It's genius. I had the Jambalaya, and my girlfriend had the Tri Tip, we were both very pleased. The atmosphere inside is really nice too, upscale but casual, very clean, and there's a patio we look forward to visiting this summer. I wish they would take reservations though, it makes planning for and getting in here on the weekends a tad difficult because it gets busy. read more

I haven't been here since I first moved to Colorado back in 2006. So it seemed I was long overdue to stop back in for a visit. ++ BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse prides its self on a rather impressive tap list. Which I'd have to agree is pretty darn good. ++ They have a selection of lighter options (called "Enlightened Favorites") on their menu which I decided to try and found the North Beach Mahi and Shrimp to be both tasty and filling! ++ My server was on point. He explained their rewards program to me, offered me a sample of a beer I was interested in, and checked back with me often to ensure everything was to my satisfaction. ++ Ambiance is nice. Like a classy dimly lit brewhouse. +/- Prices were alright. A bit more than I expected. -- Felt like the rewards program must be a new focus and was almost over mentioned to me during my visit. The hostess mentioned it as she sat me and the server several times during my visit. I would probably just have the servers discuss it with their tables, personally. I'd definitely like to stop back in and try some of their other menu items! read more
