BJ's food quality was all over the place, mostly bad. This is NOT the pre-pandemic restaurant I used to like. Menu has very few veggie options besides salads, it used to be much more flexible with interesting options. Prices are 30% higher it seems and and quality, bad. My fish and chips, at $25 were terrible. Completely over fried! There was more fried batter than fish. Almost inedible. The only good item was artichoke dip, and that was served with only tortilla chips, no veggies. Unimaginative. Service was slow, but very friendly, which accounts for the 2 stars instead of 1. It took about 20min to get boxes and the check. Will not be going back. At these prices, might as well opt for fancier place with quality food. At more than $30 per person, diners deserve decent food! read more

If you were to ask me how I feel about BJ's, I would say yeah, it's a good place I go to get lunch sometimes. But if you were to ask me on a deeper level, I would say that BJ's single handedly has saved me on multiple occasions. BJ's I love you. Not only do you have so many different options for food, but everything is always delicious and comes out not too fast, but not too slow. The drinks are delicious and I can think of nothing better than coming here for a night with my girls and talking for hours. That's how much I love this place. I came into this boulder location on Sunday evening and had a crispy jalapeño burger with a side of clam chowder. My burger was absolutely huge and honestly I could've made two meals out of it, and I should have because I left way too full. I found the portion size was huge for the price. The beer selection was middle of the road but I was happy with what I ordered. Unfortunately, when we went they were understaffed in the kitchen so many of the items on the menu were unavailable. Nice place impressive when you walk-in a normal sports bar restaurant. The staff is very friendly we stoped in for a late night snack just getting of a plane. The nachos were really good cooked crispy with a nice amount of cheese and guacamole, also ordered sliders and root beer wings all were hot fresh and delicious. I live close by so when I can't make my mind up where to go for dinner or I am entertaining guests from Denver or from out of state, BJ's is usually the go to. They have a very large menu so you can always find something, gluten free options, a decent wine selection, and the service is usually exceptional. The previous two outings of getting served very warm Sauvignon blanc, plus some very inattentive service last week, was a bit of a downer for my guests, and for myself. Everyone has bad days but overall I enjoy going to BJ's. read more

Ate here with coworkers since it was so close to our hotel. There's a very large menu with so many food and drink options. The cheese curds, chicken nachos, spinach& artichoke dip, and brussel sprouts were ordered as appetizers. My favorite were the cheese curds and brussel sprouts! For entree, I had the grilled salmon with a side of broccoli cheddar soup. Overall the salmon was grilled well and very flavorful and juicy. The broccoli cheddar soup was cheesy, just how I like it. For dessert, we shared a pizookie flight with 3 different types of cookies. Overall service was timely and the food was hot upon service. Come here all the time to get my fav chicken tortilla soup and a pizookie. Other than soups or salads, their food can get pretty greasy. Their soda is often flat but that really doesn't bother me as I love myself some of their soup. The service is usually fine but today we came in with some one with a mental disability who can sometimes be a bit loud. Rather than talking to us, the waiter was clearly annoyed and very rude. After he tossed a pen at us rather than just handing it, we talked to the manager who really didn't seem to care. I can get a cup of soup a lot of different places and not have to deal with people who lack compassion for people that are a little different. I expect better, especially somewhere like Boulder. So while I love their soup, I'll be heading places who actually care about customer service and common decency. Really disappointed. read more

Nothing wrong with a chain, especially when its happy hour and you are waiting for service at the nearby Apple Store. Sat at the bar, watching 3 screens of Sports, received excellent service: $3.00 Coors Light and $3.00 Queso or Guac . I had both (guac seemed a little older than I'd like), and also tried the $4.00 Red Irish Ale on tap. Why not just have dinner? $6.00 burgers were a deal, but ya know, I was just killing time. We went here after viewing wedding venues with my family when suddenly a wildfire broke out very close to my families house. The manager Paula and our waitress were extremely accommodating. They got my families food out immediately and comped their meals, they also discounted all of our food and gave those of us who stayed a free dessert. They were so kind to us and we appreciate everything they did for us so so much!! The food is also amazing here, especially the root beer wings. read more

Meaning they deep fried his chicken while it still had paper wrapped around it. Absolutely disgusting he ate half the paper before he found it. After a long hike in Boulder, we actually stopped by at Bj's Restaurant & Brewhouse on a crazy hot day. We noticed that The Bull of Boulder was completely full, and had a 40 minute wait!! However, Bj's being a small chain, was totally empty!! We were seated down immediately and right on cue: Our bellies started growling from being hangry all day!! We soon came to enjoy some of the most refreshing pink lemonade because it was hot, hot, hot in the middle of July!! We ordered fries, with a whole bunch of side sauces and a deep dish pizza.. everything was wonderful and we really didn't regret coming in. Stopped by for a quick lunch and was not disappointed. Asked for a recommendation at the bar for lunch and was told the crispy jalapeño burger. Very glad I took the recommendation because it was amazing. Frying the jalapeños slows them down a little bit so they don't fry your mouth off. Added a nice zing to the very tasty burger. The beer selection was nice and I had a refreshing ruby grapefruit sour beer. I generally stay away from the fruity beers but it was a recommendation from a gentleman sitting to my right so I went with it. It was perfect on a hot summer day. Only thing keeping this place from five stars was that the host was trying too hard to get in the pants of one of the hot waitresses to notice me walking in. I stood there for a few minutes watching his pickup lines crash and burn before they noticed me. Either refine your business practices so they don't behave that way anymore, or get this poor boy some coaching on how to pick up girls so he doesn't fail so bad. Great service, awesome interior but the food is just too corporate tasting for my taste buds. I'm sure there is a good dish in that large menu but I just never get satisfied when I eat @ any BJ's these days. They need to learn how to bake the bottom of their deep dish pizza's so it has a slight crunch to it and not doughy. Great for drinks fo sho! read more

Went out on a date to BJs. Been to BJs before but have never written a review yet. This is my 3rd time to BJs and 1st time to this location. Ambience of the place was nice. Bartender Courtney who attended us for drinks and food was fantastic. I really enjoyed my watermelon mojito and our spaghetti and meatballs dinner. I've not had any bad food here yet. We've eaten here occasionally and always had good food and usually good service. Before COVID they were often extremely busy and we would pass them by if the parking lot was full. Everything we've had there has been good. The deep dish pizzas, the pasta dishes, and the salads are especially good. Our kids like the Mac and Cheese, the Mini Deep Dish Pizza, and the Kids' Burger. My wife is a fan of the Pizookie dessert. The Chili is usually good but sometimes served almost cold for some reason. We ordered delivery through GrubHub and the meals arrived in about 50 minutes (reasonable given the distance) and still warm. We got the veggie pizza, deep dish ziti (actually made with penne, but that's close enough), two side Caesar salads, and a Monkey Bread Pizookie to share. Everything was good. read more

I will start by saying the service was extremely friendly and timely! I ordered the pizookie trio and chose the monkey bread, chocolate chunk, and cookies n' cream cookies with vanilla ice cream. In all honesty, I am a HUGE sweet tooth but I found the cookies a little sweeter than I would have liked. I still enjoyed each of them, just not as much as I would have hoped. The vanilla ice cream they came with wasn't that great either... Definitely not a Haagen Daz or anything like that, but still yummy with the pizookies. The best thing about BJs is that is open late. The food is not good. I have been here many times with friends after events we attended because it's open late, and the only thing that I've liked is the jambalaya. It's too bad we can't find someplace open late that serves good food. I don't drink, but the beer list looks good. And there are multiple big screens showing sports. read more

I had a simple order, the sliders. I ordered at 9:35 pm and it wasn't until 11:05 pm that they finally cancelled my order from Uber eats. I went through 2 drivers waiting until BJ's decided to cancel my order. They kept on giving the status of "wrapping up". It takes them 1.5 hours to make 4 sliders!?!? Quality of food has gone way down hill. Got pizza and it was very dry and stuck to the pan. Also ordered the cherry chipotle salmon and it was heavily salted and over seasoned. We were seated, straight in from the door, so it was delightful every time someone opened the front door and then politely held it open for the rest of their party. USE THE REVOLVING DOOR people! I lived in Boulder for three years before trying this place -- expected it to be just your typical big box restaurant in a shopping center. Then I tried it as a Hail Mary for takeout one night about a year ago, and I've been hooked ever since. Wish I'd tried it sooner. I can't speak to the dine-in experience, but their take-out, online ordering, and pickup system is absolutely dialed in. And the food is really, really good. There's probably some variation in quality depending on what you order since it's such a huge menu, but I can confidently say that the "traditional American" fare (pork chop, steaks, and the vegetables/sides they come with, etc.) is fantastic. Comes out looking and tasting every bit as good as the photos on the website make it look. There are restaurants downtown on Pearl Street selling similar meals that aren't as good for twice the price. If you're a meat eater looking for just a straightforward meal prepared really well with solid ingredients at a reasonable price, this place is the best kept secret in Boulder. read more
