Good beers, a nice variety and I really enjoyed the amber IPA, a lovely west coast, pleasantly bitter - Called "Firefly." Our server was fun and attentive. We liked the ability to order takeout beers at the counter too to streamline crowds. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We just moved to the area and we were excited to try Echo since they have such a nice patio for us and the dog.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Unfortunately, all three beers I tried were flawed, especially the hoppy ones. Their IPA was so infected with diacetyl (a buttery taste) that I had to return it. I really hate to send back beer but, seriously, $9 for a 16 oz pint? I expect prices like that in Vegas, not a a local microbrewery. The $17 small pizza was edible but I could have made better in my home kitchen. Sorry, but the writing is on the wall for this place. I ordered the garlic cheese bread with roasted garlic and a half spinach salad with feta cheese, cranberries, and a pesto vinaigrette. The place was very busy, however the server tried her best. Echo brewing has a wonderful selection of handcrafted beers! I always find a good one. They have the best pizza around.

We stopped into Echo Brewing after an afternoon in a local pumpkin patch. Initially, we stopped in for the craft beer - and both enjoyed an IPA and sour. Yay for sour beer. And then, we saw (and smelt) the amazing looking pizzas being taken to various tables and decided to order two. Halfway through the delicious pizzas, I discovered the wine slushies. What?!?! Sour beers, wine slushies and fabulous pizza? This is the trifecta. Our pizza was crazy good. Also loved the salad - fresh greens and local ingredients, hard to beat staying simple. Who knew a brewery would kill it with their pizzas? Echo Brewing definitely did. The crust always tells me a lot about the pizza. This crust was fluffy, tasty and still thin enough to satisfy my partner who hates deep dish. I love deep dish so loved the fluffy crust. Yum. And the flavors - on point. Eh. We came to old town to go to Old Mine and we're disappointed to see a sign on the door that they were closed due to short staffing. We walked down the road and came across Echo and decided to try it. Eh. We won't be back. Our family of 4, (2 adults and kids 2&8) cost $130. Our kids pizza had to get sent back because it was bubbled and burned. I got one of their pizza's and subbed pepperoni in place of their ham. But that was a $2.25 up charge. Great brewpub in Erie with plenty of seating allowing social distance. Order and pay at the window, the staff provide table service. Echo serves brews of their own (IPA's, Kölsch and sours on tap) alongside local favorites (Dry Dock and BB). Very limited in liquor choices though (rum and Jack). The food was a-ok, offering salads and BYO pizza. A bit on the pricey side for Erie. All in all it was a great choice. Outdoor patio is perfect for watching outdoor downtown festivities (took in a free show by Christian Lopez) or simply "people watching". I'd come back next visit for sure. read more

We ordered 3 different types of pizzas and a Gluten Free pizza for my daughter and she said it was amazing as well. A small little place in Erie and well worth trying out. Echo Brewing really missed the mark for me. First off the hostess took orders from people who arrived after us before us, we had to ask for menus, we had to ask for the ask for the check, our hostess never checked back with us once our pizza was served. I found it pricey for what was provided @ $50 for two small pizzas and a beer. The only thing we didn't have to ask for was water, which the hostess brought out with my beer. I ordered a pale ale and was brought an amber, it was tasty so I let it slide. We waited patiently for our pizzas to arrive and when they did one of them was not as ordered. Unfortunately by this time we were a little crunched for time and didn't have the luxury of sending it back. The beer was good and the pizza was so so, the best thing about this place is the patio. We have lived in Old town for 24 years and have been to Echo several times. Two weeks ago on a Friday night we had a good experience. We walked over this evening (Friday night again) later in the evening (7:30), left our phones at home. When we got there and sat at the bar we realized that we couldn't scan to order (no phones) and tried to get the attention of 3 servers (who weren't busy but were standing behind the counter). First reason why you should come to this place: Beer. I ordered the milk stout (Can't go wrong with that one). However, their other beer options looked great as well! We ordered a cracker thin pepperoni pizza. It wasn't bad. They have limited selection on food with your typical brewery kind of food. The "vibe" of the place was pretty chill. Quite possibly the worst brewery I have been to. Finally writing this review on my 3rd attempt to enjoy this place. The beer is good but if you are sitting at a table plan on waiting a long time. If you thought you had to wait long for the beer, try ordering food. The first time we were there for just under 2 hours only able to get 2 orders of beer and had to leave when our pizza wasn't even started over hour after order. We paid for our beers and got 4 pint vouchers for the inconvenience. It was an extremely busy night so we will give them an other chance. Our second time we went there for we finally got a pizza but still took longer than it ever should. Food was good but not worth the wait. Only my wife and I... so I guess we had more patience. Was not busy at all. This LAST time we just had to walk out! We were sat and our server said she would be right back with 4 waters. She came back 10-15 min later without water asking for our drink order and after she took it she said she would be right back with our drink and take our order. 15... 20.. min pass. Thats almost 35 min in a brewery and I don't have a water, a BEER, or was even able to order my meal. Been down that road before, hell no! It was moderately busy. So offically that was our last trip to Echo, no more chances. If you can't serve beer and food, then stick to what you know... BEER! And hire food trucks to feed everyone.
