Have recently gone here 3 times. the pizzas are fairly good, but a bit overpriced, and over oiled on the bottom. the Beer is cold, is poured well, but selection of Sours is lacking. I stuck with a middle Lager- Lightswitch, which was fair, but nothing to drive out for. I did really enjoy the Salmon with the Cherry-Chipotle glaze, sweet, fruity and well paired for the fish. My wife was pleasantly pleased with thier take on Jambalaya, i diverse selection of proteins and green pepper, onion and tomato. Not overly seasoned. Both were served hot. The hand-crafted sodas were a hit with the non-beer types at our table with the cream soda taking first over the Root Beer. Service is the story here, the servers are all attentive and interactive, except during the most packed periods, and I have found an early lunch is a great way to get exceptional service. Side note, my wife walks with a cane rather slowly and the hosts have all been patient and never a glance of impatience. sets the stage for a great meal. read more

Ugh. We just ordered pick up and were sorely disappointed. I ordered a Sante fe salad and my husband ordered the deep dish ziti. Got home and my salad looked more like a side salad with literally a few pieces of lettuce one small piece of an avocado and no tortilla strips. It was so skimpy it was laughable. The chicken was cold old and dry. As for my husband's ziti it also looked as if it was premade and reheated in the tin it came in. The dish literally said "with parmesan garlic knots" on the cite and on the sticker of his container but there were no garlic knots. This place was the worst. Steer clear. Ordered curbside and waited patiently for my text message and nothing. Finally after calling 2xs pizza comes out to my car and pizza was cold. Spoke to Howe the manager and he could care less. Pizza came back out with little to NO cheese. Jose comes back over and says "ah just take it" Jose I'll tell you what you can do with your cheeseless pizza! I was very highly disappointed in our food. I got a steak that had no flavor and had a huge fat strip through the whole middle of the steak to where I cut around it. There was barely any steak left to eat, so I took very few bites and was done eating my meal. My boyfriend got a burger that also didn't have any flavor. It just tasted like meat with barbecue sauce smeared on it. Our bill was 97 dollars for very disappointing food that we didn't even eat. It was a complete waste of money. Honestly it started off really bad when the server gave us brand new plates and we realized there were dirty plates stacked under.... How does that even happen? They messed up the order, however instead of telling me they messed it up, they served my family and left me there with no food, and no explanation, I waited until my family was finished eating and then my dish came out. My wife enjoyed the full rack of ribs with mashed potatoes, and I agree, they were tasty. The problem is what I ordered. I first ordered the Mediterranean chicken pita tacos, which I thought would be similar to a gyro- boy was I wrong. It came out cold, with translucent chunks of mystery meat chicken. Pretty disgusting. To his credit, the server immediately took it off the bill and let me order something else. I went with the basic BJ's cheeseburger. While it was pretty good, I think like there was too much brioche bun with it- the ratio of bun to burger was off. The prices are also pretty expensive - the cheapest burger is over $16 including tax.The pizookie (cookie made in a pizza pan) was waaaaay too sweet. This is my absolute favorite restaurant in Gainesville. The staff is always attentive, keeps our drinks full, and friendly. I highly recommend the Tri Tip Wedge Salad, sub Blue Cheese with Feta. We came here before a concert and sat at the bar because, there was a pretty long wait (45 min to an hour). It seemed understaffed from the get go because, there were a lot of open tables for how long the wait was. The bartender, Rob, was super nice and accommodating despite having to cover the entire bar area on his own. My boyfriend got the old fashioned which, he said was just ok and I got the strawberry flavored moscow mule which, I really liked and would recommend! The food took a while to come out but, when it did it was very good! The boneless buffalo wings portion was ginormous and we barely finished half - you could definitely split this with a large group. The mahi mahi tacos were very fresh, light and delicious. The tri tip steak was just ok for me (I think I just learned this is not my favorite cut/kind of steak) but, my boyfriend really enjoyed it and said it was cooked perfectly. The shrimp scampi was phenomenal - large shrimp in a yummy buttery garlic sauce. I got the garlic veggies and fries (not pictured) as my sides and both were also amazing! These were some of the best side veggies I've ever had and the fries were very crispy and fresh. Overall, 4 stars because although our bartender provided the best service he could there is definitely a staffing issue resulting in long waits to the point where our bartender was also serving as our food runner because we had been waiting for our chips and salsa and wings for 40 minutes. read more

Service was slow, and our fettuccine alfredo and two chicken tender meals were brought out without sauces or the rest of the food. Slowly some side dishes came out, and then finally sauces. By then everyone's food was no longer hot, and we had some cranky eaters. Truly disappointing. The fettuccini Alfredo was only room temperature straight out of the kitchen. Two of our teenage girls got some cute selfies for social media, but otherwise we left unimpressed. Also, the side door that opens to outside kept letting in freezing cold air as employees went in and out it. It didn't help with how cold the restaurant was, or how cold the food was. The waitress was cordial enough, but why it took close to 10 minutes to get ranch and honey mustard sauces for the chicken tenders that were brought out is beyond me. read more

The dressings were awful on the salads. First a major chain should be making Ranch Restaurant Style not canned or bottled. If my tiny neighborhood pizza place can do so can they. I wish restaurants would publish email addresses or forms so that you can contact managers directly. I have eaten at this BJs at least monthly for years now. The lettuce base for the salads tends to have a very "off" flavor- like bad lettuce. I have started requesting romaine instead of the iceberg mix and that was better, until tonight. The lettuce doesn't just taste bad- there's is a whole clump of actual bad slimy lettuce in my salad. What in the world do you guys do that you don't notice lettuce being bad? It ruined my entire salad- all of the lettuce tastes off. It's so gross. Also- take out here sucks. They never put avocado on things. It doesn't matter whether I've paid extra for it, or whether it comes with the dish already (as it was supposed to tonight), the avocado is never there. That's the most common thing wrong, but there's always something wrong with the take out. In person is typically okay. Used to be better. read more

First time last night at BJ's. I didn't know what to expect, but we decided to give it a shot. We sat in the Patio and Jessica was our server and she was very attentive and very sweet with my son. everything we order was tasty. We shared the avocado egg roll, the Brussels sprouts and berry salad and the ahi tuna. My husband love the salmon dish and my 4 year old devoured his spaghetti. And each dish were nicely presented. The pizza was cold, the tuna was a weird texture and the avocado didn't look fresh, and halfway through eating it I vomited everything up. I should've known better than ordering poke at a restaurant of this caliber. For some reason, my pizookie was a smushed yet gloopy mess. My lunch came out first, so I started... I was done when the server came by, and I asked where my wife's meal was...it was over 10 minutes after I got mine before she got hers...that is inexcusable!!!!! I felt bad eating while she just sat there. I'm not sure what has happened to BJ's as of late, but with each visit (and I've had about 5) it just got worse and worse. This last visit was a few weeks ago on a Saturday night. Now normally I'm lenient when it comes to being busy on the weekends, but there were numerous things that made the visit terrible. 1: Our server was so slow and would disappear to the point where I would have to ask other servers for assistance. 2: The soda machine was bad that night or something because their cokes were flat and even if you requested another one, it would still taste flat. I just asked for water, since you can't mess that up. 3: The food was just warm and not hot..meaning that the food might have been sitting there. I'm not the type to send the food back and will just take it with me and give it to a person in need on the street. My last visit was the final straw and I will have to take a break from BJs until next year and I'll possibly try it again. read more

My family and friends a party of 10 where out to celebrated my daughter's 18th birthday. We had great food and outstanding service above and beyond. That is saying a lot today because I am a Boomer and many there in attendance like I as youngsters worked in restaurants. I only gave 4 stars because my $30 steak was not what I was expecting. Came in on st. Patrick's day and had one of the most amazing experiences with our server Nico (Nicolas B.). My girlfriend and I come in multiple times a month. By far he was the best experience at this resturant in a long time. He was extremely quick with the touch pad taking our order compared to other servers in the past. My girlfriend has multiple food allergies and he got everything perfect and went above and beyond to make sure her order was correct. The past few times we have come to the resturant the steaks have been over cooked or differed how we asked. He made sure everything was perfect. A lot of the time we get our pazookies to go with the ice cream on the side. Most of the servers either put the ice cream in the box and ruin them or they put it in the white styrofoam containers and the ice cream goes everywhere. Nico put them in separate containers showed up with a bag and made sure the food would actually make it home without being ruined. My fiancé called today and finally got an answer.... They just REFUSED to take our service for a 60 person group for a Wedding Rehearsal dinner! That is guaranteed money!! What a business, UNBELIEVABLE!!!! The person on the phone said they would only be able to take our party at 9pm. A wedding rehearsal dinner at 9pm? Give me a break. Our other option was "no later than 4pm"... no one does rehearsal dinners that early! They claim they couldn't take the party at 7pm because they would be too busy. Stopped by this BJ's on a weeknight for an early dinner. We were greeted with a big smile by the hostess and seated immediately with our menus. The waiter came by shortly after to get our drinks order (water all around) and was visibly disappointed that none of us wanted an alcoholic beverage. After that, service went straight downhill. We waited a good 15 minutes for the water to appear and to get our order taken. The food came out about 20 minutes later. The food itself was properly cooked (important when one of the dishes is shrimp pasta), although my roasted asparagus side was extremely over seasoned (very salty). I emptied my water quickly, and then never got a refill or even saw the server again until we were obviously finished with the meal. At which point the server appeared to "see if everything is alright". I asked for the bill and more water (still dying of thirst from the salty asparagus). The bill appeared about 15 minutes later and then, finally, after the charge was rung up, we got refills of water! This is as we are ready to leave the restaurant. Honestly, this is chain restaurant food, with the indifferent service we received it will be quite a while before I bother to go back. read more

Amazing atmosphere and service. Ordered the prime rib and it was every bit worth the price. 10/10 recommend. We will be back for sure.

First off, you apparently need a phone to see the menu, not sure they even have physical menus. Secondly, none of our food looked as good as the menu pictures. We started with the avocado egg rolls which had a ton of avocado in them and pretty filling, not bad but kinda felt it was missing something. My friend enjoyed his burger and the sweet potato fries were good but didn't seem as hot as the egg rolls. The worst dish was the spicy peanut chicken with soba noodles which seemed like it would've been the best thing on the menu but it was terrible.. like a vinegary peanut sauce and a tasteless heat with slightly over cooked chicken, I ended up sending it back and the waiter was nice enough to comp it. I kind of feel like this restaurant should skip all the fusion type dishes and stick to the more Americana ones. read more
