I can't remember the last time I was here. The restaurant is located at 320 Buckland Hills Dr. in Manchester. The place is pretty big and has a very high ceiling. Notice the ceiling kegs at the entrance. The music is a variety of music from the 70's to the 80's. For my first drink, I'm high the Lucky Ducky. This is made with Altos Plata Tequila, Malibu Coconut Rum, Absolute Mandarin Vodka, Bols Peach Schnapps, Bols Blue Curaçao, Monin Sweet and Sour, pineapple juice and Starry. I love the prevention! It is served in a bathtub with a floating ducky! This is good. I can't really taste the alcohol but I like the overall taste. The presentation makes the drink. For our appetizer, we are having the Chicken Pot Stickers which are pan-seared filled dumplings, garlic, ginger, yellow chives, soy ginger sauce and slaw topped with rice sticks, sesame seeds and green onions. These are nice! Extra soy sauce and a rice stick topping. For my next drink, I'm having the Grand Patron Margarita made with Patron Silver, fresh orange and lime slices and topped with a mini bottle of Grand Marnier. Grand Marnier is a premium French orange liqueur made from a blend of Cognac brandy, distilled essence of bitter orange, and sugar, created in 1880 by Louis-Alexandre Marnier Lapostolle. It has a rich, complex flavor profile with notes of orange, vanilla, and hazelnut, and is typically 40% ABV (80 proof). It can be enjoyed neat, on the rocks, in cocktails like the Sidecar, or used in desserts like Crêpes Suzette. They use a thinner salt for the rim. Still hard to taste the alcohol (because of the size of the glass), but as I drink it, the Grand Marnier kicks in! These more like it! For my next item, I'm having the Soup (clam chowder) and Salad Combo (House). The soup is hot and comes with crackers. It's good! The salad is good sized with croutons, it is very good! For my entree, I'm having the Enlightened Cherry Chipotle Glazed Salmon which is oven roasted Atlantic salmon in a savory Cherry Chipotle glaze with roasted asparagus and spinach. This is dipped hot! It tastes great! Very unique! Nice presentation! I love it! For my last drink, I'm having the Woodford Reserve Old Fashioned made with Woodford Reserve bourbon, simple syrup and Angostura bitters. Look at this! They use a large ice cube to slow the dilution process! It's nicely garnished and well-balanced. This tastes great! Good job! For dessert, I'm having one of their World Famous Pizookies - Strawberry Shortcake. This is a buttery sugar cookie, fresh strawberries, rich vanilla bean ice cream and whipped cream. Get them when you still can as the Monster pizookie is only around for a limited time only. It's a special feature one that they have for a few months. We had to give the monster ice cream one we had to give it a try. It was just ok with the blue ice cream. It was gooey with a chocolate chunk cookie, stacked with Rich Vanilla Bean ice cream(blue), Oreo® crumbles and a side of hard-shell chocolate sauce poured on top. I came here for a late night dessert to try the famous pizookie. I was pleasantly surprised that they had happy hour going late on a Thursday night so I got the house margarita. I also got the Triple Chocolate Pizookie with Ghirardelli topped with vanilla ice cream, which was absolutely delicious. The place was pretty busy for that time, but the service was great. When we first arrived, we stood at the front for over 10 minutes without being greeted. There was a staff member walking back and forth, but there were no other customers waiting, so it was confusing why no one acknowledged us. When we were finally greeted, it felt rushed and not particularly welcoming. As we were being led to our table, I asked if we could sit at a larger one since several were available. This seemed to be an issue and ended up adding another five minutes before we were seated. After that, we waited an additional 15-20 minutes without any service. Eventually, a woman who seemed like a manager came over and asked if we had been helped. When I said no, she responded that she didn't think we had, and someone quickly came to take our order. On a positive note, our server was very pleasant once things got moving. To end the night, we ordered pizookies to go, but when we got home, we realized they didn't include the ice cream. It felt like a fitting end to an already frustrating experience. Throughout the meal, our server only checked on us maybe twice, and never once refilled our drinks. She seemed overwhelmed, even mentioning she had been washing dishes all day, which made me feel bad for her--but it doesn't excuse the lack of service. The food timing was just as frustrating. * Pickled fries came out in about 10 minutes. * Clam chowder took 20 minutes. * My son's classic burger and my veggie pasta took nearly 35 minutes more. He wanted medium rare came out well-done. My pasta tasted like it was left in the oven too long. By the time the entrées arrived, I had lost my appetite. Im so disappointed! I had high hopes (based on two previous visits...apparently I need to stick with wings!), big let down. Stopped in today for a lunch date with hubbs. Was seated at a booth, with a bit of a scowl when we declined the Hightower. Waited almost 25 min for our waitress to come to take drink order (she was great, btw). Ordered drinks with meal, cause who knew if the wait would persist. Food came, not too long after. Ordered Chicken Alfredo and Fish/chips. The chicken was the tiniest portion on a ridiculous amount of pasta (overflowing off the bowl. Not pretty) and the Fish was fried beyond being edible. When you cut it, it broke. Also. The bread came after my hubbs was done with his chicken, the bread was burnt. We weren't checked on, asked how anything was, nothing (yes, our waitress was super nice but everyone was in her section and she was crazy busy). We went for a weekday lunch - $12 lunch menu! We were greeted with friendly and attentive staff. The ambiance was not too loud - perfect for a weekday lunch. Our waitress was friendly and helpful. The lunch portions were the perfect size and price point and very tasty. Everything was executed very well and seasoned great. Mom got the soup and salad - clam chowder and wedge salad. The clam chowder was good but nothing spectacular. The wedge was a great wedge salad. Fresh and homemade blue cheese. I had the Mediterranean Chicken Bowl. I was pleasantly surprised. Husband and I went here, got dinner, on a Friday night, in May. Restaurant was about half full. We sat at a table in the patio. Food was good. We had potstickers and the prime rib 3 course meal (sort of). First, we had to wait for our first set of drinks, that arrived with the (cooked and not just cold, pre-prepped) potstickers. We ordered our second set of drinks with the entree. Food got to us, within a reasonable time... but the drinks finally arrived only after we had asked again... and still it until after we had already finished the entree. My son's prime rib that he ordered medium would be not even considered rare at most places. We didn't get drinks on time. Just a bad overall experience. The service was prompt and adept. My crispy chicken sandwich was exactly what I hoped for and my friend ordered shrimp tacos as she had had and enjoyed them there before. We both had a fruity hard cider, which was delicious. The place is spacious--it was not crowded on a Thursday at lunch. BJ's is super close to us so we come frequently for drinks/apps/dinner. They were terrible for a long time but then so far this year they have been decent. Largely due to a few awesome servers at the bar. Well, they just cut their menu in half, they eliminated lunch during the week and the rest of the staff is so apathetic! We got drinks to start while we looked at the menu (bar needed a wipe down) but then the bartender disappeared. Scurrying around the bar but there were only a handful of other guests! Took over half an hour to come back. Drinks long gone. When server finally came back to us he was defensive when my husband told him service was slow. It's a bar. We are eating AT THE BAR. First time.here yesterday and it did not disappoint. Sat on the bar side and was very surprised about the happy hour menu. Not only were the prices decent, the portion sizes were great. We ordered the mozzarella sticks. I think there were at least 10 on the dish. The chips and salsa were great and they even gave us more. We ordered the $6 margarita and it was delicious and not skimpy. The baked salmon was cooked to perfection and the sauce added an extra delicious flavor. I will definitely be back here! read more

Unfortunately, the experience was abysmal on my latest visit. Thursday evening and we sat at the bar. It wasn't too busy and it seemed like there were plenty of workers however service was slow and relatively inattentive. We were under a time crunch and it just became super annoying after a while. This review is really a 4.5 and strongly because of my Waiter Steven, who absolutely did his thing behind the bar with taking care of everyone (including myself) like a pro! I seen him moving about, making sure everyone was satisfied with their meals and whipping up drinks on the go. A superb hustling spirit if you ask me and it should be recognized for that type of hustle and grind is often lost in some restaurants. Steven had recommended some plates and we were on our way. Up first, after my drinks had arrived would be the fried Mac and cheese balls. They were nice and hot, crispy with cheesy goodness within. Each bite was quite flavorful, with soft bite sized elbows and it was the green onion, that gave these little balls a nice bite. Dipped them into the sriracha aioli and that creamy zest had a nice flare upon my tastebuds with minimal kick, which only added to the pop on these cheesy balls and I was around for it!!! Shortly thereafter my Kickin Chicken Sandwich arrived! It was a tad over cooked because she was a dry lil' thang but had a nice crunch to her bite. What had darkened her doorstep on the overall bite for me, would be the Cole slaw. This Chicken sandwich didn't need it for the slaw was already a side on the dish. All this chicken sandwich needed was less time being cooked, maybe a bit thicker for the power bite of juicy goodness and yes, the spicy aioli with the pickles and BOOM!!! Nothing more for that would be enough. However, the French fries were FIRE!! Crispy and crunchy with a nice touch of salt, which is all a good French fry needs and that is exactly what they had! Let us not leave out the two scoops of double chocolate chip action for dessert. Creamy, Sweet and tasty. Chocolate chips melted upon impact and its the type of added happiness that rounds off a good meal. BJ's Brewhouse had a nice lunch rush going on and as I looked around, the staff was on their grind, getting to tables and making sure everyone was taken care of, minimizing wait times and adding to the overall experience. Went here for happy hour. Everything is just "eh". I definitely appreciate the happy hour specials at the bar and it's fine if you're just going there to chill and watch a game for a few hours but I wouldn't go back just to get food. Our bartender was good. Even though he was working by himself he was attentive enough. Their beer selection is good too so that helps. Atmosphere/Appearance: This is a very new, stand-alone building right at one of the entrances to the Buckland Hills Mall near the Red Robin and other restaurants so there is plenty of competition around. It has a private parking lot, but it was so packed that we had to park across the street in the mall lot, but it wasn't too far away. Once inside I was really blown away with how huge this restaurant was. The ceilings were high and there weren't really full walls so the whole place felt really open. The lighting wasn't too bright so it had an intimate fell, but not super romantic. It was a pretty good balance! Hence the name it has the busy feel of a sports bar, but not the riff-raff or whatever. Lol. Service: I can't remember who served us, but they were pretty good. There were 6 of us to take care of and that's not so bad. Again, it was pretty busy but our server kept up. Food: For an appetizer I had their Honey Sriracha Brussels Sprouts and they were delicious. Sweet, hot and healthy all at the same time! For my entree I ordered from their "EnLIGHTened" menu which is an entire menu devoted to lower calorie and healthier options. Speaking of their menu, it's enormous. You know, how Cheesecake Factory's menu is. It's purely gigantic so it may take a while to choose something. Eventually I landed on the Mediterranean Chicken Pita Tacos. They're char-grilled pitas stuffed with seasoned grilled chicken, cucumbers, tomatoes, red onions, feta cheese, cilantro and topped with a red wine vinaigrette then finished a Greek yogurt crema. On the side are seasonal bistro grains, whatever those are. Lol. It looked like it may have been couscous. It was very, very good. It was delicious, light and certainly felt lighter than getting a steak and potatoes or something. Value: My appetizer was $8.50 and my entree was $13.95. I think that's pretty good for both! This place certainly won't break your bank if you don't let it. In conclusion, I'm not sure what all the bad reviews are about, but this place does have a lot to offer. This was a great place to stop by for a snack while we were out enjoying a beautiful day. We chose to sit on the covered patio. It's nice & shaded. With the soft breeze blowing, it felt like we were on vacation! We opted for appetizers - mozzarella sticks, fried calamari and the chicken club flatbread. The calamari was cooked to perfection and was served with both marinara and tartar sauce. The mozzarella sticks are good. I ate them naked today. This was my first time trying the chicken club flatbread and it did not disappoint! The flatbread was thin and crispy & it was loaded with toppings! Layers of grilled chicken, tons of bacon, lettuce and seasoned tomatoes. The seasoning tasted similar to Italian seasoning. It was very lightly applied to the tomatoes and did not overpower the dish, which was nice. The dish was topped with a delicious garlic aoli drizzle. Lots of flavor in this! Hubs let me sample his frozen strawberry lemonade. It was delicious and refreshing. The patio seating is very nice. They have a tabletop fire feature for those cold evenings. We didn't need it today! When I heard about a brewery nearby, I was excited. But this place is more of a restaurant than it is a brewery. When you walk in it has a sports bar type of vibe. A bar with plenty of seating and TV's. Plenty of seating in the restaurant as well. They have beers they brew and other local breweries as well. I tried their brews and for the most part, I liked it. To be honest, nothing stuck out but it wasn't bad either. As for the food, I ordered the crispy chicken sandwich. It was pretty good. Nice and crispy but still juicy inside. Man, the quality has gone down here badly the last few times we've come here. After we got our drinks, we weren't even asked if we were ready to order, our waitress just kind of left us. We tried to get a fried calamari appetizer, but this was the second time in a row they were out of it. We decided to only order entrees instead, we both ordered the tri-tip, mine with white cheddar mashed potatoes and green beans and my girlfriend got the Brussels sprouts and a house salad with hers. When our food came, we sat there with no silverware and my girlfriend never got her salad until we mentioned it. The tri-tip wasn't even seasoned and was drowned in sauce, but the worst thing was the green beans were swimming in a pool of grease which was disgusting. I couldn't even finish it. My girlfriend also ordered a patron margarita, the first one came out fine, but the second tasted watered down and didn't taste like there was patron in there. Seemed like most of the staff was more focused either goofing around with each other or the customers or griping and complaining to each other about troublesome tables (which happened between two members of wait staff right next to our table).
