I opted to use the app during my shopping, that way, if there are coupons, it catches it. I did make a b-line to those items I knew I needed, then went on kind of a scavenger hunt. Knowing that I would be returning home after this, with all my vacation stuff, I didn't want to have to carry too much back and forth. I wondered, checking out the small clearance section. Grabbing random things as I headed toward the front. Using the app made checking out just a bit easier. I would have paid on it, but didn't have my payment method in the app. What I don't like about here is the amount of time the registers take. My husband and I have found some good deals at this BJ's especially in the clothes department. We've also found some tasty foods like their stuffed salmon. The prices do seem a little higher than their competitor but they do offer a lot of coupons. You can clip them from the mail circular or digitally from their app. The one thing I miss is a food court/concession stand. I purchased a vanilla gift card from BJ's. The next day, the funds had already been compromised when the card was activated. I contacted the cardholder and BJ's management to report the concern. I even did an online submission to BJ's to make them aware. So, a day or two passed, and I called BJ's and was advised that the loss prevention manager would be giving me a call. More than a week later, there was no call. I'm very disappointed in the lack of communication from BJ's. This will probably be the deciding factor in not renewing my membership. read more

Today, I spent 450.00 at BJ's. I purchased everything I came for and used all my coupons with the help of the store manager, which is why I am giving this review two stars. However, the rude behavior of Erica, the lead cashier, marred my shopping experience. After my purchase was totaled, I asked the cashier if the 24.00 in clipless coupons for grass seed had come off the total. Erica came to the register and loudly declared that my questions were holding up the line. She suggested canceling my transaction and moving me to another register to deal with the many questions I had about my coupons. I told her I had only asked one question about a clipless coupon. Meanwhile, her comments were so loud that the man behind me felt free to chime in and start complaining to me about my purchase. I requested the grass seed be removed from the total so that I could pay and leave. Unfortunately, this still held up the line because the cashier had to ask Erica to override the grass seed sale. A better way to handle this type of situation in the future would be to open another register or two and direct customers to those lines, especially when customers are making large purchases. I am impressed with this location. I loved that there was safe parking for people with infants right by the front door. I have also used curbside pickup here before and it was great! The store is very clean and fully stocked. It is a little confusing when you walk in because there is not a clear entrance to walk into the store? Prices are reasonable, staff is friendly! I only wish they carried Huggies diapers, but they do not. The main brand they carry is pampers. That might end up being the reason I switch back to the other big box store. They have a nice toy selection out just in time for Christmas shopping. read more

1) Arrived at the BJ's Tire Center located at 2301 Taylor Rd, Chesapeake, Va on 1/2/21 at 8:50 AM for a 9:00 AM scheduled opening. Nobody showed up until 9:15 AM. 2) The reason for my visit was to have my T.I.P.S Tire Sensors replaced. Mechanic stated that they did not have sensors for my vehicle in stock. The mechanic stated that they should have the correct sensors by 1/4/21 and he scheduled an appointment to have them installed. 3) At 2:00 PM on 1/4/21 a different mechanic called to inform me that they did not have the sensors, he didn't know when they would be getting anymore in stock and that they would not be able to help me. He suggested that I go somewhere else for service. 4) I have been buying tires from this particular store for numerous years. I guess that they do not want my business anymore. I scheduled an appointment with Tread Quarters (Chesapeake, Va) who were very accommodating. read more

Went to tire center where I purchased tires in May. Went there to check if tires were properly inflated since indicator light for tire pressure went on in my car. I'll repeat this, but bring your own bags and/or boxes. I'm pretty easy to please in bulk stores, mainly because the criteria is-GREAT DEALS, decent selection, and convenience. BJ's gets me. Cheap gas, new pumps and easy scan your card under the scanner, swipe your card CC, pick your poison, EZ. Store (Let's be honest, we're all comparing to Costco who set the bar in Warehouse clubs) Clean, good selection, their brand, "Berkely&Jensen" is decent. Sizes-yay you don't have to bequeath toilet paper, ketchup or cereal in your will. They have larger than grocery but smaller than Costco sizes, shall we say a happy MEDIUM. They accept manufacturer's coupons (not so at Costco). They also have some really useful ones as you walk in. I do not purchase meat here, it doesn't look trustworthy, it's a poor selection anyway. There is no seafood. Costco blows the perishables here outta the water. Their non grocery items, i.e. tires and services are excellent bargains. The electronics selection and price is fair. They do have a website that carries oodles more than the brick and mortar. Shipping is cheap and quick (yes, I've ordered lots, luggage, pots and pans, electronics). They have a great greeting card selection all the big brands for like a $1.00. HBA are very good in both variety and price. And remember you can use your MFG coupons. Checkout, personally I love the idea of the self checkout, but someone who also loves the idea but also the 3" nails, no ability to follow instructions and tons of time on their hands beats me to it. I am always done before them at the people stations anyway. There are no bags, so thankfully I keep a ton of grocery t-shirt bags in the car and I'm set. They do have a cage full of boxes as you walk in but they are a crap shoot on if they are out. They also accept more than Discover as a CC. read more

I don't know why some people beat up on this location. I shop here often. Good selection of organic fruits and vegetables, organic milk and eggs. They carry organic blueberries and blackberries, sometimes strawberries. Those are usually IMPOSSIBLE to find ANYWHERE. I think their meat selection is great. My only gripe is the Harvestland chicken thighs are priced exactly like Food Lion and the expiration dates are tight. Too tight. BJs, however, individually packages all the Harvestland thighs and breast so freezing is a breeze. You don't get that convenience at any grocery store. They carry organic and grass fed ground meats, ranging from beef to lamb to bison. I also go there just for the Mortadella which is a delicious Italian cold cut and difficult to find elsewhere. They slice it nice and thin upon request. Prices are good for what you get. Particularly bulk organic items like 6 pack 32 oz boxes Pacific organic creamy tomato soup (under $10) as well as the 6 pack 32 oz chicken broth variety- staples in my kitchen. They carry Amy's organic lentil soups. I do wish they carried more Amy's but I'll take the affordable option any day. Like a 1/3 as expensive in bulk. I could write all day. May be not the largest location in the area and, no, not as robust as Cosco in the organic section...yet, but getting there. read more

really Missed shopping at Wholesale Clubs but since being here, Costco and Sam's isn't close to home. I've seen BJ's a few times and even got advertisements in the mail. I've stayed clear simply because I never heard of it. Finally I decided to check it out and I'm satisfied. The price of the memberships are similar to Costco. This used to be a good place to shop when they consistently had items in stock. It seems like every time I come in here there is something they used to carry and now don't. On my trips over the last month..... They no longer stock Triscuit Crackers, Salted Peanuts in the shell, Smoked Almonds, Large jars of pickle relish.
