Sam's club is a great place to buy bulk items for you and your family. They have certain bulk items with a reasonable price tag. These products will probably last you a lot longer than the average items you would buy in a regular grocery store. They also have fuel stations that you can purchase gas at a reasonable price that is cheaper than your average neighborhood gas station! Placed an online order for delivery from the store. It was to be delivered between 8am to 10am. I get notified it is on the way. On the app I see the order is going to a different address. I used the chat function and am assured it is coming to the correct location. It went to the wrong location. I call and finally get someone, am told yes it went to the wrong place but they can reorder it. Great, it was to arrive by 1pm. At 115pm there is no order in site. I call and am informed it was picked up at 1245. Great, it should arrive any minute. At 215, still no order. I call yet again am placed on hold for 30 minutes and then am disconnected. I was informed it again went to the wrong location. I can get a refund, but no for the tip. Uh what? Am told I can go wait in line at the club and see if they will refund it. Ultimately they offered a gift card in the amount of the tip which I have not received. I have had orders delivered before without incident. This was just crazy. read more

Honestly I'm disappointed -- went to the "Café" for a basic slice and ended up scanning my Sam's Club card and a dirty Dollar Tree laminated UPC sheet like it's 2011. Costco's got touchscreens; Sam's Club's using relics. We removed an item and expected checkout to update -- instead the kiosk threw up a help screen at checkout like it needed babysitting. Totally archaic for a billion‑dollar company. Customer service was weak. We asked to pay at the front -- nope, only at the computer or on the app. The employee shows us the phone method and the site can't connect, then asks if our Wi‑Fi is working when we had three bars -- seems like their servers were just having an off day. Then receipt drama: we hand it to the cashier, who looked like they'd been paid in silence -- deadpan, robotic, and joyless. Pizza? This location, as with most, gets very crowded on the day. I recommend if you go you go early or late. It's usually well stocked, however the food court is very frustrating. They used to have a cashier at the actual point of service, but now they don't. They seem to be driving you towards using their app and putting your credit card information in their system just to get a slice of pizza. Not good! What would Sam Walton think. read more

Awesome visit! I visit this location at least once a month, but my visit last night was super special. As I am preparing to celebrate my daughter's 11th birthday attention to detail is a must for me. With that said... I checked out Sam's bakery department to see what Emoji cake designs they offered... They actually have at least five designs, but they do not have any individual emoji cupcake designs. I was a little bummed, because I am only feeding maybe 6 girls. As a result, a half sheet cake is way too much. Well the employee working last night, Ms. Tina... she explained to me that they can make a 10 in cake and that should be suffice. I prefer cupcakes because it's less clean up, but the 10in should be cool.. let's do it! Well I found a design I was happy with, but this design required a picture as well. Only having my cell phone (with 1000s of pictures) on me, Ms Tina advised if I have a picture on my phone I could walk to the photo center (located in the front of the store) and print out the picture and bring it back. Such a great idea... cause I was thinking "I do not want to come back here tomorrow" A short walk to the front of the store... There were four kiosks (maybe more) two different sets... Looking confused, Ms. Joannie comes over and says... if you are printing tonight pick up will not be until tomorrow. Instant... heartbreak! OMG... like may I help you, but straight and no chaser :( I explained... well Ms. Tina (in the Bakery) said I could print out a picture for a cake and bring it right back to her... so she's expecting me to return with a picture. Well it was a little after 6 pm on Wednesday and Ms. Joannie advised printing ends at 6 pm. She so was in the process of shutting down all the printers. Ms. Joannie... showed love... she said well come on... So she showed me how to connect my cellphone via Bluetooth to one of the kiosk ... after maybe 3 mins my photo was printed instantly. And free of charge! She even cleaned up the print...removing the white edges. Talk about a blessing! Ms. Joannie made my night. Not only did she exemplify superior customer service, she showed me something new... I thought you needed some type of media to print photos, but as long as you have Bluetooth connection on your cell phone... you can print instantly. Get there before 6 pm though during the week at least. Ms Joannie may not be as generous. An amazing experience! Well I really didn't expect anything less from this location. I was always have great experiences when I visit here. My only side eye is the parking... the spaces are tight and expansion is needed IMO. Nevertheless, if you don't have a Sam's club membership I suggest you get one or tag along with a friend. Great benefits, awesome deals and discounted gas. And on a good day, samples throughout the store. You can come here hungry but leave full just from the many samples they offer - especially on Saturdays and Sundays. This club is located within walking distance to Wal-Mart and only a few more steps will have you in front of Chesapeake Square Mall. Have fun and enjoy life :) read more

It's been a while since I updated. Every time I renew my basic membership at Sam's ( $45 for 2022), I have to ask is it paying for itself? I also belong to BJs and Costco for specific reasons so price comparison is a bit of an interest to me in the spirit of economy and the sport of saving, particularly on high purchase items in my household. There are 2 items we buy regularly enough that it pays for the Sam's membership in savings and then some. I'm always interested in hearing and seeing current price differences between the 3 warehouse competitors so I thought I'd go ahead and post an update for anyone else with the same interest. These items may or may not interest everyone. This update is written March 1 2022 for point of reference. First item: Olive oil! BJs olive oil 3L even with a coupon is still almost $15, the typical price ranges from $18-$21. Sam's Club Member's Mark is $11.96 for 3 L. Yes, less than $12 clears the competition. That's a $7-$10 markup at BJs for another brand name in the 3L size. For full disclosure, I didn't see BJs brand Wellsley Farms olive oil and not sure they have it. Costco has a 3L Kirkland brand original olive oil 2 pack for $37 which is in-line with BJs prices. Bottom line, Sam's Kirkland brand is the Best Buy at this time, by a large margin. For any household using regular olive oil for cooking and extra Virgin for dressings and low heat sauces or marinades, you pay for your member ship with just this savings if you're restocking 5-6 times a year, which my family easily does as we avoid all other oils except avocado oil! Don't even look at grocery store prices on small bottles of olive oil, it would take just 2-3 buys at a warehouse vs grocery to pay for your membership. Rather sobering. Another regular staple and frequent buy for us is pistachios with shell. BJs is 48oz house brand Wellsley for $18-$20. Costco Kirkland in house brand also 48 Oz/3lb is $20. Sam's Club Member's Mark 48 Oz with shell $14.98. Even with BJs occasional coupon, Sam's price is still lower by a few dollars. We eat pistachios as one of our main snacks so 1 bag a month at a $4-5 dollar saving vs warehouse stores and like $15 saving for much less quantity at a regular grocery x12 months, well it more than pays for the membership at Sam's on its own as well. Sam's pistachios are also delicious unlike Wonderful where you find a number of rotten nuts for $9 more a bag. Sam's also has the best quantity and price on red onions at this time. 6 pounds of red onion for $5.47! BJs is 3 lb for $3.49 Wellsley brand and we find they go bad unusually quickly considering they are quite small onions and used readily. Costco carries a larger 8lb bag with a comparable price to BJs which is a great buy but too many onions at one time for us as they don't last long enough for us to use them all before spoiling. A few other items to watch are cherub tomatoes, Campari vine tomatoes, sweet baby peppers, and assorted bell peppers. Typically Sams wins on pricing of all of these by approximately $.50-$1.25 an item unless BJs has a coupon which happens relatively often. Eggs? I'm not even touching eggs between the three. There is NO competition. LIDL has the best prices on eggs period. I actually don't know why anyone buys eggs or heavy cream anywhere but Lidl. Sam's is a great deal all the way around however Sam's is the ultimate score for fresh wild caught salmon at a decent price!!! I renew my membership every time for this reason alone. Read the labels carefully. They're transparent. Where it's sourced and processed. Wild caught salmon and usually yellow tail flounder is also wild caught. There are many farm raised varieties so look carefully, especially if you're like me and won't touch farm raised. read more

Customer service is terrible!! Management is terrible! After shopping we stopped at the food court and every fountain drink was out and sprayed everywhere. I grabbed a bottled drink and the lady at the counter yelled that's not the same price I said that's fine I'll pay for it the next thing I know a cop and 3 people from management are walking towards me saying I refused to pay for my drink. After confronting management there was no acknowledgment of the poor customer service or incorrect information their employe gave all I got was I just work here. unnecessary commotion over a $0.99 drink. I WILL not be renewing my membership or stepping foot in another Sams club. read more

Each time I experience as great visit! Personally I think this Sam's is always stocked in goods and is always clean. Great deals per usual! If you don't know, I think it's important to note that it does take some time to get out of the store because of the people you check everrrrry item in your basket to make sure it matches with the receipt! I like this Sam's club a lot. Since it was built, management has done a great job of keeping the store, and aisles clean and well-maintained. Which makes it very easy to shop. With a membership, you have an entire array of bulk food goods, clothes, electronics, and household goods at your finger tips. The price is always right here when you're shopping in large quantities. Often during the week, they have sample stations set up, where you can try new items that the store is marketing. Adult and kid shoppers alike love the free samples, especially when they're multiple stations open! This location also houses a photo station, pharmacy, and optometrist, where you can purchase eye glass frames as well. If you're ever hungry during your visit, there is an eatery located inside that sales pizza, sandwiches, hotdogs, pretzels and ice cream. Sam's club definitely has it all. read more

My son had an interview today. He was very excited. He then would find out in the MIDDLE of the interview, from someone who randomly walked in, that he was too young for the position. He had asked was 16 the hiring age and he was told yes, hence the interview. However when he got there, after waiting over 30 minutes and prepping for hours, he was told that they started this NEW policy just months ago. This is my Sam's club that I always go to. Safe to say I will never step foot in there again and neither will my friends. I'm not upset he has to be 18, I'm upset that the hiring managers are careless and inattentive as to not check someone's resume and application before calling them in for an interview. My daughter went to pick up a birthday cake that she put an order in for. She was told to pick it up at 5:00pm on Friday, February 17th. She showed up a few minutes BEFORE her time and NO ONE was there! The lights were off, and all the bakery staff were GONE! There were other customers showing up at that time to pick up orders also. I ordered about 90 cupcakes from Sams Club for an office party. The process to order was super smooth and I came back the next day to pick them up. It was $14.99 for 30 cupcakes. I'm not sure I could beat that deal anywhere else. The checkout lines we're getting a bit long but it didn't take long before someone came along and opened two additional registers to get the lines moving. I wish there was an option to give them ZERO stars. The customer service here SUCKS. And when you report it to a floor supervisor most of them don't give a damn. And that's probably why the staff acts the way that they do. However if there is one manager that does care and I don't remember her name she has a heavy Caribbean accent. If you are lucky enough and she is there when you have a problem that's who you want to speak with. Other than that the employees don't care. And God forbid you do a pick up. The females hate having to bring your items out to your car. They will slam your items, not greet you, not smile, no courteous manner to themselves at all. I hate coming to this particular location. From this point on I will be driving the 12 extra miles to another location or better yet I will give my money to BJ's before I come back here. This store SUCKS!!!! I usually shop at the one in Hampton, not that they are much better, but the customer service here is NON EXISTENT! I stood for 10min at the register waiting or assistance, after asking multiple times for someone to come and help, the only person in the store, apparently, capable of helping finally came to "help" she did nothing. Part of the problem is that you are under staffing! It is ridiculous that the person at the membership counter is the only person in the store capable of helping at the self checkout, and given you only have two manned lanes, you clearly want people to use self checkout. You absolutely need to make this system better! read more

This is one of two places I get gas in this area based on prices (and gas points). Reasonable gas prices is definitely a perk with the membership. I like when the gas attendees interact with the customers instead of hiding in the room. It's a more friendlier customer service whether it's to assist someone having trouble or just a casual conversation. read more

It's a huge members only warehouse where you can buy in bulks. Things I love about this place are the many taster's booths and their juicy rotisserie chicken. There would be lines of people waiting for the chicken sometimes.I recommend coming here if you own a business or have a growing family! read more

I have shopped at this store for at least 10 years and I have become increasingly disappointed in these later years. I have frequently found the staff to be disinterested and sometimes even rude. The produce is much less fresh than other stores and many items are frequently out of stock. Even though this store is more convenient, I have started to go to another store in order to get better service. One exception is the automotive department. I have bought tires there twice (special order) and both times I was more than pleased with the service I received. If not for this, I would have scored the store lower. read more

I had bought my membership today. Bought dinner for this evening. Get home to prepare dinner and the salmon I just purchased was bad (milky white and covered in slime) I called to discuss it and couldn't get the manager so I just went up to exchange it lucky me dinner is rush hour time. I went back to the meat department and he packaged a new fish and took my old one, I asked if I needed anything and he said I was good. I try to leave and the lady at the exit won't let me leave so I go back to get my old one as proof of the exchange and I guess that's when the butcher finally gets his supervisor which is the first person that tells me I have to pay the difference. I asked if I could exchange it for the lower cost one to avoid the long line at the service desk and he said no. I'm pregnant and tired, dinner is prepped ready to go, I just needed this fish to put in the damn oven but I'm not waiting an hour to exchange a dang fish. They need to up their customer service because the workers just don't know anything. So not going back, I'll deal with Costco. read more
