It always mystifies me how some businesses get almost 5-star ratings on Yelp. I created a "project" here; this was the first business that had replied. I called them on a Sunday, and the person who answered was fine but sounded like they were speaking through a tuba. My biggest issue is that the electrician was a no-call, no-show. They were supposed to come at the latest, 11 AM today (Monday). I called at 10:50 AM and was informed they were running a bit late and should reach by around 11:30 AM, which I said was fine, no problem. I had to call several times after 12:30 PM just to get someone to answer the phone, and at this point, if I can't count on them being on time or proactive at letting me know an updated ETA, I don't want them anywhere near my electrical. Now I'm over a day without partial power. Save your time; call someone else. read more

Got in touch with Enrique from BK because I needed a new outlet installed. He was solid with his communication and after a FaceTime call to walk through what I needed he was able to give me a quote. The next day we agreed on a price that was fair for both of us and got everything scheduled. His guys called me this morning 30 minutes before their arrival which I appreciated. Sadly I won't know if the service is good. I messaged on yelp to get a quote and Veronica replied and informed me I need a in-person estimate. Great, I called and scheduled on a day I was home and blocked My calendar to ensure no interruptions. I kept confirming the date and time with her while on the phone as she seemed very distracted. I hired this company to install some fixtures for a client and although the labor fee seemed a bit high, I decided to go with them anyway. Unfortunately, the fixtures did not come with bulbs so they tried to charge me an additional $360 for 12 bulbs which is insane and confirmed my thoughts on being overcharged. The worst part about my experience is that someone from their office and the owner have been pestering me about payment even though the job was incomplete. I am a professional interior designer that works with many vendors and I've never had a company act so money hungry! I was told the men can't go home until payment is received, they will be sending someone back to the house to collect payment and even threatened me with a lien and it hasn't even been 24 hrs since the job was somewhat complete!! I've received countless calls and text throughout my busy work day even though I told them I will take care of the invoice today. Very unprofessional and distasteful. In 5/2025, I noticed that the power for those outlets were working intermittently. Marina was super helpful on the phone and Enrique came out the next day and fixed the problem. Enrique took the time to explain the problem and they did not charge an additional diagnostic fee as they had been out a few months prior for the same problem. We had lights flickering and I called BK who had done extensive work for me before in 2021. I requested Aldo because he had been our main guy back then and he still worked for them which speaks well that a company holds great workers. He came out very promptly, on time, worked with the tenants well and diagnosed the issue with intelligence and insight to be a tree interfering with and messing up the cables to the solar panels. We had the tree cut the next day. He came back the following day and did all necessary repairs and I felt the price was reasonable. It is great to have continuity with workers! Aldo feels a little like family now and the office people are great, easy to communicate with and organized. Very happy. No more flickering lights. read more

I reached out to BK Electric on Yelp and spoke with Gustavo. He asked for some pictures and swung by a day or so later to have a closer look. Gustavo provided a quote and explained his plan to get it accomplished. I really appreciated that he took his time to explain what he had in mind. We got back to him a few days later and got scheduled. A down payment was needed, which Chanel helped to coordinate. We received confirmation that payment went through and schedule was set. I reached out to them for a visit and en estimate. They said they would be here between 1 and 3. I waited... until 3. Nothing No word. Then I texted them. They wrote back "Oh, he broke down and is waiting for AAA, sorry!" so... okay, I rescheduled for Friday, same time: between 1 and 3. Nothing. Finally I got the dispatcher, or someone, claiming she 'thought' the guy was on his way. When I pressed her on why she didn't ensure he made it on time (remember, this is the second time in a row someone didn't show up), she got defensive, told me she had walking pneumonia and that I should treat her better. Read that last sentence again. After asking around, it seems they do this now and then. I was also told that the top two reviews are bogus reviews from 'friends' who are helping to offset bad reviews. Seems about right. read more

I don't know what happened here. I called and got a 2-hour window. Aldo promptly called me just before the window to let me know he was about an hour out. Aldo and an associate arrived as promised and we talked about what I wanted; an electrical panel upgrade (wanted more room) and a cable installed to an outlet farther away for a portable generator. After we talked more and examined the house Aldo said they have flat rate pricing ranging from $5500 to $6500. I was expecting a higher quote compared to one I already had for a little under $3000 but that person was a one-man show and wanted $800 to pull a $50 permit (plus he tried to talk me out of it) and so I wasn't comfortable with all of that. Just surprised it was 2x. But BK Electric is a bigger outfit, they came off professionally, willingly handled the permit. I asked why their price for the permit was $450 (or $500 I think?) and he said that's just their price. Lower than the first estimate but I now understand there is a 2+ hour commitment on their part with the city inspector. Ok. I asked if I could get a specific Siemens panel and gave him the part number for it. I had just done research on panels and liked one that had a much simpler installation for AFCI breakers and copper material as opposed to aluminum. I just replaced all my breakers this year and wanted to be able to reuse all ten of them. We also talked about what state the work would be left in as they don't repair stucco but I really didn't come away with a clear answer other than he said I could tape it up if it rained before I could get someone to fix it. I was looking for a little more detail so I could start getting estimates for that. He said he'd work up an estimate with my requested panel. Aldo was pleasant and professional as was his associate. That was it. Never called back. Never emailed me an estimate. I texted Aldo asking if he was going to send me an estimate. Still nothing. So I went to the company website and emailed them to ask if maybe something happened to Aldo and if they still wanted to be in the bidding please contact me. Crickets. I've never been ghosted after a company has spent the time to come out but there it is. Like I said. I do not know what happened here. I'm getting more estimates now and it's now looking likely I'll spend more than he originally quoted. read more

My regular electrician is booked three weeks out. They were the first to respond and the first to give me an estimate. They accepted my counter-offer so I hired them. They did great work. I'm actually very pleased with the work itself. And the guys were great. Super nice and they let me hang out and ask questions while they worked. However, this is where they lost two stars. Highly disappointed in the mess they left behind. A couple of screws and a couple of wires here and there wouldn't have been a problem. But it seems like they didn't pick up after themselves at all. Like, not a single thing piece of scrap or debris. It was a small three outlet job and somehow they managed to still leave a mess. They left saw dust all over my washer and dryer. They knocked over a bunch of shit and just left it there. They moved over my washer and dryer and didn't move it back after they were done. And there's just shit everywhere. Debris. Punchouts. Saw-zaw blade, aluminum shielding, copper cables, insulation, sheathing. The shit is everywhere. I'm easy to please. Make the shit work. And leave my shop the way you found it. Sorry boys but while the experience was great, the work was great, the pricing was reasonable, the after-taste means I can't recommend you to anyone. Also one of the guys sags his pants so you could see two entire butt cheeks. I get it. When I was 16 I made the same regrettable style choice. But dude...cmon. Two full, entire butt cheeks? He had to be no younger than 45. Granted, he has a very handsome ass. But I would just rather see less of it while I'm paying hundreds of dollars for an electrical job. My wife wasn't around so they didn't lose another star for that. They'll get the job done well. Just maybe look elsewhere if professionalism and attention to detail are a priority to you. read more

I have had BK Electric Services do some work at my house back in October, 2020 and I needed to have a few fairly simple tasks performed after having sold my house, to ensure any unresolved electrical issues were taken care of prior to the new owners moving in. One of those issues was a safety concern in that I have a newer, very powerful garbage disposal that is actually very quiet when in use. I tried to install an LED switch myself, so that the LED would light up when the disposal is on because if the water is running, the stove vent is cranking, you just can't hear the disposal and I could never get the LED switch to work. I couldn't in good conscience let that one go! Safety first! Enrique was the electrician who came to the house today and knocked out that 'seemingly simple task' for me and a couple other things as well. I say seemingly simple, but then I had to call the professionals to have the job done right! lol Enrique is also an electrical inspector, and since all of this work done was in anticipation of the house inspection, he reassured me that the electrical looks in great shape. I appreciate his knowledge and insights regarding the inspection so... Thanks Enrique! I'm very happy with the work that BK Electric does.
