Color me surprised. We were looking for a gluten-free, dairy-free pizza in New York. And we found it on our first try. The "pizzette," a 12-inch personal pan pizza, is available there with a gluten-free crust. This crust is custom-made for them and was unlike any other gluten-free option I've tried. It actually tasted like real pizza dough, something I've sorely missed. And having been without the ability to eat cheese for 30+ years, theirs was also very good. They use Daiya, which you can get at most grocery stores. There is something about the cheese when cooked in a high-temperature pizza oven that gives it what lower temperatures can't do. It was good. Mine was simple - cheese, mushroom, and sausage - Yum! We also had some normal pizzas (not for me though). At the table we have one pepperoni and mushroom, then two slices, one was white spinach pizza and the other was a slice of Margarita. There is so much on their menu to choose from that, even if you aren't a pizza fan, you'll find something you like. While we live in Chicago, our daughter just moved to Brooklyn so we'll be back. This used to be my go-to spot. I think they're under new management. I went in for a grandma slice and was extremely disappointed. Just looking at it, the slice barely had basil on it and no visible garlic. I was starving and decided to give it a try. Idk if they have new owners or something but the pizza kind of really sucks now. It's just dough with a SUPER thin layer of cheese on it. You only taste dough, with a hint of something gooey. Ordered delivery though the Slice app and it a little late. We ordered the garlic knots(not pictured), jalapeno poppers, and Margherita Pizza and the pizza and poppers arrived kind of cool in temperature. The garlic knots were protected with foil so it was still warm when it arrived. At room temperature the pizza wasn't bad. It was very light with a nice crust and bread. I wish there was a bit more basil than the 2 little pieces that are on one slice. I'm sure the pizza would taste better fresh out of the oven or re-baked. The jalapeno poppers were just ok 3/5. It was a slice of maybe pickled jalapenos with cream cheese and deep fried. The garlic knots were 3/5. The bread was soft and it came with some marinara sauce. It was covered in minced garlic. But I felt like it lacked a bit salt in the dough. The dough itself when you don't get a bite of the garlic bits was a bit plain. Will order again to try some of their other pizzas next time and maybe try take out. read more

The lady that answered the phone did not understand a word. Pie came undercooked and plain awful. A doughy mess. I had their slices before, and they were nice. Not like this at all. I tired to call, tired to be patient, and got passed around 3 times until the MR OWNER came in and tired to bully me into not being allergic to croutons or dressing.. (I would change that if I could, believe me) asked me what I wanted to do, look I don't know, make the order like I asked for..? $38 bucks in the garbage. You could definitely taste the difference in the ingredients and the selection in specialty slices they got going on here. Their square, which usually sets apart a pizzeria from the rest was pretty good. Soft interior with a crunchy exterior and great tasting sauce and cheese. One of my favorites from this place. The eggplant parm slice is also pretty good. Imagine an eggplant parm on a slice. Gets the job done when youre starving. Just ordered via uber eats and the disgust I have for this establishment is deep. Firstly, the chicken is literally stale and inedible. The pizza did not include the mushrooms that cost $5 to add. I requested the onions be cooked and they were not. There is no description for the cheesesteak pizza, but a slice of yellow american cheese melted on top is just trashy. The calamari was not only soggy for being poorly packaged but rubbery and overcooked inside. Additionally the marinara is flat and flavorless. I understand I made an order 1.5 hrs before closing but how dare they send this overpriced order out the door to mine in such poor taste and quality. If they weren't closed I would drive this horrific food back to them myself. Don't give me the end of the night garbage food like my money doesn't matter. I will never return or recommend this place. So I ordered on a Saturday afternoon, it didn't feel long for it to arrive and it was hot. You can tell this pizzeria has a couple of old school pizza makers who are trying to accommodate hipsters in the area. I like that; they have a morning pizza, some waffle and bacon concoction. I am not certain how long this place has been opened, but the decision makes sense considering how gentrified this place is. There's nothing wrong with their pizzas; I tried this places mozzarella cheese pizza and Sicilian brick (cheese pizza) and felt loaded. The sauce wasn't too sweet, a great indicator that it's not some cheap $1 crap. BUT the bread, it nice and chewy; it's not doughy or stiff. Huge slices of New York pizza served by super friendly Italian guys. I like this place because they stay open pretty late (compared to other restaurants in the neighborhood) and are quick with their pizzas. They also have a really big menu; there are so many options to choose from that it got a little bit overwhelming. They have some pretty interesting pizzas here. I had the chicken and waffle pizza. After getting over the strangely sweet syrupy taste, I really enjoyed it. The prices for the slices aren't the cheapest but are pretty good considering how big they are. Very good and authentic Pizzeria/Italian food spot. The people seem like a typical Italian family and are really nice, I've always encountered excellent customer service. Most importantly, they have great Pizza! Their regular cheese slice is top notch and super flavorful which sets the stage for everything else. The specialty pizzas look amazing but we've never been able to get past the cheese slices because they're that good. Recently however, I ordered a pasta dish for delivery. I got the Chicken Francese and it was delicious!!! It came w/Penne which seemed to be dressed in a Garlic Oil or maybe Garlic butter sauce and also came with warm bread. Food was fresh and so flavorful; definitely restaurant quality and it came very quick so it was steaming hot! My only criticism is that almost all of that delectable sauce was spilled in the brown paper bag during the delivery, which was really a huge bummer because it was so darn delicious. I legit had to stop myself from licking the bag!!! Smh what a loss! I used my spoon to scrape the bag and save what sauce I could, I don't care, germs be damned!!! Now that I know how good the food is I'll absolutely order again because they have an extensive menu that I plan on making my way through. The wings taste like frozen, breaded wings that were defrosted and some weird sauce was drizzled on them. The mango habanero tasted like overly sweet syrup with corn syrup & a dash of spice. Bbq was not really bbq tasting. Buffalo was franks red hot on the wings. Also got tenders which were the same frozen, breaded meat defrosted with a dash of some flavor. Most of the good reviews seem to be for their pizza but we didn't try that, and after this experience I don't want to try anything else from here. Pizza is the ultimate cheat day food and I made it my mission to get a pizza from BKLYN Pizza. I used to walk past it everyday on my way home from work and there always seemed to be people in there so I decided to check it out one day. I went in there and the owner was working alongside his brother. He was extremely personable and very passionate about being the owner of this establishment. I spoke with him for a while. When you get off at Gates Ave from the Gates Ave Station (J,Z,M Trains) and walk towards Ralph Ave, you definitely can't miss this place. The sign is huge, red and always lit. It demands your attention. When you walk inside there are pizzas EVERYWHERE! Buffalo chicken, BBQ, Veggie, Gluten Free, etc. They have many options and of course you can also build your own pizza. I kept it cute and classic with a cheese pizza with extra sauce, garlic knots and buffalo chicken wings. The slices are huge, the garlic knots are fresh, but the chicken was plastered in buffalo sauce. I was impressed with my entire meal. He even gave me free cookies with my meal. He really cares about his customers. Since this initial pizza journey, I have ordered from there 4 more times. He has a customer for life. read more

About 20 minutes after I ordered via Yelp, I got a call and thought "wow, that was quick" - false alarm, they were calling to tell me that they had no Canollis and we negotiated soda as a substitute. About an hour after that, I called to find out where our long-awaited lunch was and I was told "5 minutes" - sure enough about 5 minutes later the delivery person called me from outside. I hoped that it was not cold by now, but better late than never. Uh-oh - the cold, burnt pizza was missing the two toppings that I had ordered and paid for and another item was just missing completely. I called back and spoke to someone who said that he was just coming in - he started talking to the guy that had handled my order and from what they said it's evident that they had received the order correctly, he'd just apparently ignored it. It has now been an hour and 45 minutes, my wife had half a meal in front of her - I told him that I didn't want to wait another hour and a half for the replacement pie he promised to send along with the missing item and he said that he'd bring it himself if he had to. The story ends with me getting the right pizza 2 hours after ordering and my wife and I eating most of our meals separately. Based on this experience I won't be ordering from Brooklyn Pizza again or recommending anyone else to. read more
