I have been here three times in the past week, and each time I was so impressed. The store: WOW. Just wow. They have every cut of meat you can imagine. I am eating one of their Filet Mignons right now and it is fantastic. So tender! My hubby is enjoying a rib eye steak, and is also impressed with how tender it is and the great flavor. I also bought the Chicken Cordon Bleu (huge chicken breasts!), and other stuffed breasts. Their prices are really great - which is surprising considering the good quality of their meat. We also tried the outdoor window for sandwiches. I think we sampled them all except for the hot links. Love their sandwiches - they are full of meat and the smoked flavor is wonderful. This review is only for outside orders My husband and I tried the BBQ for the first time and it was ok. The tri tip sandwich was really good! Not dry and seasoned nicely. The pulled pork sandwich was quite dry though and needed more flavoring. We ordered a side of Whitney fries which are supposed to be seasoned fries? They were basically just French fries with maybe a pinch of seasoning. Definitely not worth $2 As for the whole, I don't think it's worth what they're charging. As or the atmosphere, it's not great in the summer. All outdoors with hardly any shade. The table umbrellas are small so not even half of the table is shaded at a time. If you are fine with the heat though, this is the place for you! read more

I came here to buy some dinner with my dad and my husband. My dad and my husband got tri tip and I got a pulled pork sandwich. It was all really yummy. I got fries with my order, which were yummy. Inside the building is a clean, well-lit and impressive meat market. Not much different than good ole Glick's downtown. Except almost anything else you would need for a meal is there also in the grocery part of the market. I have bought meat and prepared it from the store and it was quality, tasty and well-seasoned. With that said the outside food counter is not so impressive. Service is extremely slow and both the tri-tip sandwich and the steak sandwich are mediocre at best. Not much flavor and the barbecue sauce they have chosen to send out with he sandwiches is bland and mostly flavorless. Hopefully, the flavor will improve over time. Price is great in comparison to any competition in the general area. Worth a visit but I'd skip on the hot stuff, get some quality meat and go home and cook it right! read more

We have ordered our pre-seasoned Prime Rib here for the last three years for Christmas dinner. The meat is always top-notch and the whole family gives positive reviews about it. It seems like this place is always busy when we come in. We have not tried the lunch meals or other things yet but it is nice they have some groceries other than the meat. This shop made my recent business trip to the Gem of the Central Valley halfway worth it. Incredible showcase of all sorts of beef and dry aged beef. Seafood selection to boot. What caught my attention was the gi-normus Southern Pride smoker out beside this market. Seriously. This cooker is as big as a garage. This is where the window to order BBQ is. While the selection is pretty limited, I marveled at the portion I got. A whole bird and a pint of ranch style beans with some soft pretzel rolls from inside. For around 10 bucks? WInning. Although my chicken was a tad bit dry, it had a very pleasant smokey seasoned flavor, not overwhelming. And I swear these folks stole my ranch bean recipe. My only regret is that I was not staying at a hotel with a gas grill by the pool. I woulda spent my whole days per dieum on a dry aged steak. Nice selection of beer and wine inside. Love this place. If I gotta come back to Visalia I am blowing my expenses here! read more

We tried this place for the first time tonight. Impressed! The sliced tri-tip and rack of ribs were delicious!! As far as sides, the beans were fantastic. The rice pilaf however could have been better....tonight's was very, very salty. Portions are large; our family of 5 has enough left for at least 1 more big meal. Quality has a take out service that's amazing! It makes more money from me than any other eatery, and I give it 5 stars even though my first impression was not a favorable one. I got a pulled pork sandwich - and in all honesty was not impressed - the pork seemed dry and the bun was a plain white hamburger bun or something equally disappointing. But a few months later I came back for the chicken lunch, then a whole chicken, the fish & chips (true cod - I usually prefer batter fried but their breaded recipe is better than some restaurants where I have paid 2x as much!) and tri-tip, chili beans, cold slaw, etc. - and they are all 5 star winners - the tri tip sandwich bun is still (in Trump's vocabulary) "a lightweight" - yes, they could improve that - but all else is over the top good. Also once the mashed potatoes seemed to have too much vinegar in it - I am not going to dun them a star because of any of that. It's a great place & reasonably priced! And I haven't even started on the inside meat market - I did a porchetta once & got the pork belly from them but besides that I still have much to experience. The ambience is also 5 Stars. read more

Ordered a FRESH turkey for Thanksgiving 10 days ahead. Picked it up yesterday (22nd) put in the fridge. When we got up this morning the inside of the turkey was FROZEN! So obviously BL "Quality" Meats is trying to pass of THAWED turkey as fresh. Will be getting a fresh turkey from some one else next Thanksgiving. read more

Great selection of meat. I enjoy their selection of marinated chicken, stuffed chicken, and stuffed pork. They also carry lots of fresh fish and various beef selections. Friendly, helpful staff. I also enjoy picking out a selection of good craft beer. Bread selection is good, but needs to be eaten right away. Specialty food items, pasta sauces, spice mixes, etc are good. I could probably just shop here for dinner but usually end up going to the Save Mart for a bigger selection of vegetables.They carry Rosa Bros milk and ice cream as well as other frozen products and fresh items. read more

Went to the Deli side for lunch. Ordered a sandwich combo with Mac n cheese. The mac n cheese was crunchy and clearly had sat in the pan for some time. When I approached the server at the window he said "sorry, I'm not in charge of making the Mac n cheese. Nothing I can do about it". I was very disappointed. It was so crunchy and bad I couldn't eat it. I ended up throwing it away. You would think they might have considered giving me something else to substitute the bad mac n cheese. My mom called in an order for us at about 5:45pm on this Friday eve. No one was in the parking lot at a little after 6 when I pulled up. I got to the window and there were three young men inside. One of them gave me a death stare through the window and the three of them went and stood in the corner and chatted for about three or four minutes before someone came to the window to acknowledge me. I told them I had a call in order, but it was not ready yet even though no one was there at all. He said something like, the guy that was working on it left so I still needed to wait. Horrible, really bad customer service. My mistake, I guess...but I threw the bag in my car seat and took off. Well they should warn a person because meat grease leaked all over my car seat on the way home...also the meat is not so good at the end of the night? Geasy bad pulled pork and the large cole slaw that we got was only half full. I wanted to add fries too when I got there, but the service was so bad that I chose to drive by Popeye's instead to get fries on the way back home. I will have to think again before spending 50 bucks at quality meats for a meal. read more

Customer service is horrible! Great food. We used to go every week and for thanksgiving and Christmas turkey. Everything is fine unless you have a problem with something. Employees were rude, argumentative, and for Thanksgiving we ended up with 9 pounds of turkey for over $150 dollars! I can't believe how they treat long time customers! read more

I always come here because I love their food. Well today just might be my last! They forgot both of the breads on my steak sandwich combos. Because of that we couldn't enjoy our sandwiches without our bread so we were very unsatisfied and weren't going to drive all the way across town to get the breads that they forgot! !! I recently started using this yelp review and although I ate at this place this past November I still remember it like it was yesterday. My fiancé ordered a steak sandwich, his steak piece was so old and dry it could double as a weapon, I'm sure if I through this steak at someone it could cause bodily harm. Unfortunately we didn't throw the steak away or at anyone, instead he ate it and it wasn't pretty. I ordered a trip tip sandwich and yeah I'm a woman so fat on meat "scares me". But this was all fat hardly any edible meat, I wasn't just being a baby. And I'm not being "picky or a brat" because the woman before us who got her meal to go also ordered a steak sandwich, she came back after opening her meal in her car and request they made her another sandwich. Such a bad experience as far as food goes. The customer service was nice but they also served us such horrible food with a smile on there face? Where they clueless and ignorance is bliss? Besides the meat store, they have a lunch counter to serve up their meats. We ate here quite a few times in the past year. When it gets hot, they put out the water spray fans which were a nice relief from the Central Valley sun. I have tried most things on their menu, but I would always order the fries! This place is awesome. I live in Santa Barbara and am in Visalia a few times a month and usually bring a cooler with me to load up as this place beats anything we have down along the coast. The trade of the meat market seems to have died in SoCal, so it's refreshing to see a legit meat market again. Their marinades are incredible, and the staff is friendly, albeit can be a little chatty and slow when I'm in a rush so if you need to get going, be sure to tell them you're in a hurry. Always willing to custom cut or prep anything I'd like. Must try the Citrus Heat wings, they're killer! I wish they'd put up a good list of their meat selections on a website so I can pre-create an order list though. read more

I called in my order and was quoted a wait time. When I arrived to pick up my food the cashier told me that "we got slammed and we haven't even put your order in yet" on top of that she couldn't even remeber what I ordered. I preceded to pay for my food and then had to wait an additional 30min. They didn't even bother to try and make my food faster, I was litteraly the last person to receive my food despite the fact I had placed my order an hour prior. I received no apology, just endless excesses. I guess the lesson of the day here is don't bother calling in your order because they have no regard for call in orders and you will end up waiting in line anyway. I can say without a doubt I will not be coming back and it's likely I will discourage others from visiting as well. read more

Food to go is really bad... Very cold tri tip sandwich and the girl taking our order seemed very short with her attitude. I have seen this happen at other establishments when they hire teenage help that is not vetted. Look at superior dairy in Hanford, teenage help there destroyed the experience.
