Prime Rib Entree cooked medium rare. So good dipped in au jus and creamy horseradish sauce.
    Stacy C.

Had dinner here on a Sunday evening with my family for my mom's 86th birthday. We had a reservation, and they seated the seven of us comfortably at a large corner table. The restaurant was packed and noisy. We had the best waiter. He was attentive and cracked jokes continuously. When he found out it was my mom's birthday he offered to bring her a couple different free desserts, but she didn't want one. I like the menu because you get to select your own side dishes to go with the entree from a long list of delicious items. I ordered the 12 oz. prime rib with a baked potato and salad. The prime rib, cooked medium rare, came with horseradish sauce and au jus. The potato had butter, chives, and sour cream on it. The dressing for the salad was a delicious honey mustard. Everything was very good. Others ordered the New York strip steak, salmon, and BBQ ribs. The food arrived quickly and everyone enjoyed their meal. This Black Angus location has been around for a long time. I used to go dancing there with friends thirty years ago when it was a popular nightclub in addition to a dining establishment. I think the dance floor is now covered with tables. I've always been able to count on Black Angus for a delicious meal and it's nice to see that hasn't changed.

Love Black Angus ,,, this Black Angus is still fantastic. The restaurant is clean , lots of space and always active . The service is amazing and food never disappoints, I wish we lived closer but we definitely try and stop in every time we are in the San Jose area .

Kids steak meal is a good portion but it's a pretty tough sirloin

Came here with the family and we were using Inkind so we had to spend $150 to get $50 back. Hence, we ordered quite a bit of food. I was OK with the meal. Service is standard and you get that chain restaurant feel. We came on a Friday around 8p. No wait. Here are my ratings: Food (3.5 stars) + 16oz Prime rib was cooked perfectly and it's not bad. It just doesn't come close to House of Prime Rib. The au jus is some form of gravy which is a bit disappointing. (4 stars) + Brussel sprouts appetizer is very good. It is one of the better Brussel sprouts I've had but didn't care for the blue cheese. (4 stars) + Ribeye steak is likely choice grade which is not bad but I'm used to prime so it's just OK for my high standards. Loaded baked potato is quite filling and green beans were perfect compliments. (3.5 stars) + Kids steak is a tough sirloin cut that could use more seasoning. It's a good portion but I had to cut the steak for my daughter. I prefer Sizzler's kids steak because they're seasoned well and more tender for sirloin. (2.5 stars) - BBQ ribs were huge and we didn't have room to eat it so we took it home. We had to slap on our own bbq sauce and air fry it. It actually tasted good at home. The bite I did take when it was fresh at the restaurant was nearly inedible. (2 stars) - Artichoke appetizer isn't my thing. I didn't even know where to start eating the leaf. My wife showed me but I still couldn't enjoy it. However she did like it though. (2 stars) Service/Ambiance (4 stars) + Our server was fine. I can't remember her name but she understood our plan to maximize the Inkind deal. + When you get $150 of food for just over $100 it's a win. The bbq ribs were enough for lunch the next day. + I haven't been to a Black Angus in like 25 years but not much have changed other than our taste buds and waistline have grown. I'm not sure if it's a good or bad thing.

Came about 10 minutes before our reservation and checked in. They were extremely busy, people without reservations were being quoted a 1 hour 30 minute wait, so good thing we booked ahead. Even with a reservation, we were seated about 13 minutes late. Service was rough. Slow to get our drinks, slow to get a server to take our order. It felt like they might have been short‑staffed. There were plenty of empty tables, but the staff just couldn't keep up. Food, at least, was consistent. We ordered the Campfire Feast, but they were out of mixed vegetables and out of asparagus, which was disappointing. We ended up with the wedge salad, Brussels sprouts, green beans, ribeye, and prime rib. Overall, the food was fine, but the service really dragged the experience down.

A pandemic loss in Vallejo caused a feeling of going to see who was still making it in San Jose. One place I had missed was Black Angus... which we need back cause it was a pretty decent steakhouse. Ended up here on Veteran's day, so it was crazy packed. Hasnt changed its decor...good ol' rustic layout. It was a good ending to the day! Ciao for now. ...

This place is spacious and service is excellent. Our waiter is very attentive and friendly. We ordered the meal for two with appetizer, two entrees and a dessert. The crab cake is a very good size and delicious. The steak (filet mignon) is cooked properly and tasty. The carrot cake is good too. Overall a very good experience and excellent food that's reasonably priced. This is the only Black Angus that's still around in the South Bay. Somehow the other ones in Milpitas and Sunnyvale all closed down unfortunately. We'll definitely return to support this location and want this one to stay open.

I've been here a few times and haven't been disappointed so far I strongly recommend making reservations as it can be pretty busy & the wait time can vary from 20-60 minutes. My go to appetizer will always be the calamari strips. They're absolutely crunchy and delicious, especially with the sauce that's provided. I decided to get their Filet & Surf ($53.99) it came with a 6oz. Filet Mignon, two lobster tails & two sides! For that price and the amount of food that I received was definitely well spend. Everything was absolutely delicious and tasteful. My partner's ribeye steak was tender and juicy. It was made to perfection. The service wasn't bad either, they take your order, check in once or twice which is nice in order to not feel forgotten. The environment is nice and quiet. Lights aren't too bright which is always a plus in my eyes. I will be coming back soon & recommend this to anyone.

We've been back here a few times to order takeout and the quality and presentation has improved dramatically. So, I am updating my review. The service is great and welcoming. My wife enjoys the Buffalo & Ranch Grilled Chicken Sandwich: grilled chicken or crispy chicken tenders, chipotle-Buffalo sauce, ranch made in-house, lettuce, tomato, brioche bun (4/5). The chicken is tender and moist. Rodeo Ripper Combo Meal: 8 oz certified Angus Beef hand formed patty, cheddar cheese, crispy bacon, onion rings, pickles, and house made bbq sauce, served on a buttered and toasted brioche bun (4/5). This was a tasty burger. I wish they added more bbq sauce, but it was still tasty and cooked to order.

It's been several years since the family and I visited this place! This was a childhood memory when my family wanted to go out for dinner. We made reservations on a Thursday evening at 5:30 pm and it was quiet yet with older diners already enjoying their meals. They have a private parking lot, so you don't need to worry about that. Once we arrived, we were sat immediately to a booth. We were planning to get the Campfire Dinner, but we arrived at the right time for their lunch specials and happy hour menu which lasts until 6 pm. We got some happy hour appetizers and lunch specials. Our waitress, Jennifer was a delight! She was attentive, cordial, and diligent with our orders. Great service and hospitality. We got 3 appetizers for our picky eater - 3 Cheese Garlic Bread: warm, toasted and so cheesy and crunchy - Garlic Pepper Fried Zucchini: very refreshing and light fry that made it crispy outside and still moist on the inside. Paired well with ranch and honey mustard - Chicken Tender: the staple for picky eaters As for the adults, - Grilled Chicken with side of grilled asparagus: great piece of meat, nice sauce on top and cooked good! - Baked Potato Soup: not too salt, warm, and lots of potatoes! - 6 oz Sirloin: cooked correct to medium rare, tender, great flavor that paired well with mashed potatoes Great experience and good food!

The staff here are really nice and helpful too. They even give you complimentary containers of their salt rub. My partner and I specifically come here specifically for their Picanha steaks which are extremely high quality and affordable. They're great to cook using the reverse sear method or grill like they do at Brazilian steak houses. They taste fantastic with chimichurri or even just with flaky salt because of how buttery the steaks are on their own. The last time we were here, we got 10 steaks for around $150 and we seriously thought we'd be spending way more. Of course the cost will depend on what you, like the prime rib here is very expensive, but weigh out your options! I do think everything else here seems to be a great price for the quality compared to mass grocers. I'd highly recommend anyone to check out this shop!

We started out with complimentary glasses of Prosecco and sparkling cider while we waited to be seated. There was a little delay in getting our table, but it wasn't really a problem because we were chatting and enjoying the drinks. Before we entered, they had a floral photo wall where we took a photo together to memorialize the experience. And when we sat at the table, they had placed a lovely Mother's Day card on the table signed by the staff. The decor at Be.Steak.A is modern and feels very upscale. I think the bathrooms say a lot about a restaurant's attention to detail, and the bathrooms at Be.Steak.A were elevated - essential oil infused salt scrub to wash your hands, bidets, etc. The brunch buffet is just as described - hot items and pastries in the kitchen (so cool), a caviar bar outside, a separate station for cold seafood, another station for fruit and charcuterie, and then assorted desserts on the bar. The food was excellent. We started with the caviar -- the options and accouterments were plentiful and delicious. The caviar bar was so fun and felt luxurious. This was one of the highlights of the whole experience for me. For the other seafood, we enjoyed oysters, shrimp, crab legs, and other little seafood dishes, which unfortunately weren't labeled, so we didn't always know what we were eating. My friend had some dietary restrictions she was concerned about, so that was a little frustrating for her. But my favorite bite of the entire day was one of those unmarked seafood dishes- I wish I could tell you what it was -I think it was possibly squid. But it was so fresh and flavorful. Yum! The hot food in the kitchen was a neat experience. They had skewers and prime rib and many other dishes to choose from. I kept coming back to the seafood skewers. We were a little bummed that the beef Wellington was just gone when we entered the kitchen. There was still about another hour and a half of brunch service left so that was a disappointment for us. They also had numerous pasties and this amazing bread pudding that I drizzled a Nutella sauce over and added some strawberries to. This was probably my third favorite bite of the day (after the little seafood dish and the caviar experience). I'd be remiss if I didn't give the truffled deviled eggs from the charcuterie area a shout out. These were so good we kept going back for more. The desserts were good but a number of them were a little dry, I have to say. Surprisingly, my favorite was a little passionfruit tart that had just the right amount of sweetness. I'm usually a chocolate kinda gal but there weren't that many chocolate options, I have to say. A few other things- our server was lovely and gave us a lay of the land to start. She made sure we had any drinks we wanted and plenty of extra silverware. While there just aren't as many touch points with a server at a buffet, the interactions we did have were very positive. And even though I was disappointed that they ran out of the Beef Wellington, I was so impressed with how they kept replenishing and refilling the other dishes right up to the end of the buffet. This was an incredible dining experience. I'd highly recommend this brunch buffet experience for special occasions. I'm looking forward to dining here for dinner in the not so distant future!

We decided on indulging a little. While we were waiting I asked for a wine list... 5 minutes later I asked again different server finally got the list. No revisit. The food came. Still looking to order wine about 8-10 mins in a different bartender came in and asked, we ended up getting a bottle wine. The food: the hot stone trio, for $230, mediocre cuts of supposedly A5 Japanese wagyu. They were out of the Sanuki and said we'll substitute with an Oregon beef. Just not worth the money. The lobster was ok, the risotto was already cooled off, seemed like it was sitting. So for 2 of us with a $700 plus meal the service was not on par with other similar establishments. Combine that with food that was definitely not worth the $$$$, it is not a return for me. Including hosting business here. Not sure if they judged us cause we weren't all dressed up, due to just coming from the local movie theater or what, but service was not there, unfortunate.

At many restaurants, that would be a problem. At Henry's, it becomes a reason to test the rest of the grill. We ordered the Porterhouse and the Sirloin, both medium rare. The Porterhouse was solid: balanced seasoning, clean grill flavor, no unnecessary tricks. A lot of restaurants can do a good Porterhouse because the cut already has drama -- bone, fat, tenderness, presentation. But Sirloin is different. Sirloin exposes the kitchen. Especially that strip of fat running along the edge. If the grill work is careless, that fat becomes chewy, greasy, or wasted. Henry's handled it beautifully. The meat stayed true medium rare, while the fat edge was properly rendered, lightly charred, and full of beef aroma. That is real steakhouse skill. Medium rare lean meat plus properly rendered sirloin fat is not automatic. It takes timing, fire control, and experience. The baked potato was simple and correct. The salad was classic old-school steakhouse style. Dark beer still feels like the right companion here. Henry's is not trying to become trendy. It is not chasing presentation. People come here to eat steak, drink beer, and trust the kitchen. Prime Rib is still the ritual. But this visit proved something important: Henry's is not only a Prime Rib place. They know beef. - Dr. C Fire controlled. Fat rendered. Medium rare verified.

She was warm, friendly, and genuinely hospitable, setting the tone for a fantastic evening. The food was excellent and arrived surprisingly quickly, which we really appreciated. Throughout our meal, Serene checked on us regularly to make sure everything was perfect, and her pleasant demeanor made us feel truly valued as guests. The atmosphere was great, the food was delicious, but what really made the evening special was the exceptional service we received from Serene. Her kindness and attention to detail turned a great dinner into a memorable anniversary celebration. We can't wait to come back!

On my 4th attempt, I decided to have an early dinner which we made it in before the dinner rush. We ordered their some of their appetizer, a wood fire pizza, and 2 prime ribs. Everything kind of just came at once so be prepared to be rushed to eat things quickly if you want to eat it while its hot and fresh. I personally would have wished it were paced out a bit better so that our table could converse a bit more naturally and snack while at it. The food was all pretty good. We got the broccolini and it was a bit tender. If you have elderly folks at the table or folks with a bit more sensitive teeth, this may not be the right item on the menu. The pizza was pretty good but the bottom was a a bit charred. Overall, the atmosphere was more on the dark, moody, romantic vibes. I think it would have hit this if it weren't for it being a bit too noisy with the staff running around and music blasted.

But at the price point it was just too steep (pun intended) for what we got: Deviled Eggs {4/5} interesting that it was fried! This was probably one of the best of our meal. It was just downhill from here. Crab Cakes {3/5} decent. Nothing extraordinary but nothing bad either. Smashed Potatoes {4/5} crispy outside, soft, fluffy centers. Better than the mains! Prime Rib {2/5} so sadly overcooked with a side of a single overcooked, flavorless carrot to pair with it too. I was so disappointed. Seafood Catch of the Day {2/5} hubs had the fish dish and he said it was really bland. It lacked any flavor at all. Agnello Brasato {2/5} my mother-in-law had the lamb shank and it was braised for too long so it was dry. The Smoking Gun {4/5} creativity points for smoking inside a bottle before pouring. Decent cocktail but not a "must get" for whisky cocktail enthusiasts. Overcooked and overpriced. Maybe come for the view and cocktails. Hate that I have to give this two-stars but no one in my family liked it :(

Most of the food in the chafing dishes was cold, including the carving steak station. The made-to-order omelette station took quite a while and initially was only offered as a vegetarian option, though we were eventually able to add protein. Even then, it was just okay. The dessert and fruit assortment were also pretty average. On the positive side, the seafood assortment was excellent and the made-to-order waffles were definitely a highlight. Our server, Estefania, and the support staff were top-notch and provided excellent service throughout the experience. The venue itself is absolutely gorgeous and beautifully designed.

We were originally a larger party, but a few friends fell out and we ended up with the final four. Tho I'm sure we made up with it in ordering. The bigger table came in handy. The server was very understanding. I was pescatarian at the time, so did not take part in all the meat offerings. But I've been to other locations and their steaks are usually pretty good. Their seafood is for a steakhouse. The sea bass was moist and slippery. The lobster bisque was creamy and decadent. One thing that's always consistent at Mastro's is their cocktails. I always get the grey goose martini and it never disappoints. Parking here is awful. I don't ever remember Valley Fair being this bad. Plus, now that you have to pay for parking, you'd think it would get better. Anyways, basically come early to give yourself enough time to find a spot. Good for a special occasion dinner since it can get pricey. REVIEW #4042
