My buddy was also craving some Fish n Chips as well. Good size venue with a decent amount of seating. Parking is not an issue, with plenty of spaces in the plaza. Use the kiosk in the front to order and wait for your number to be called. This is a fast casual restaurant, so it's open seating. The interior and the tables were clean. Service was very friendly. The staff were very helpful and informational. They gave us extra sauce when we needed and were on top of everything. They took away our plates and cleaned out the table as soon as we left. #FishGrill: ~ LOBSTER NACHOS - 3.5/5 A heaping amount of food. I thought it could do with a bit more Lobster meat. There were tons of chips. Corn chips, wild-caught lobster, avocado, roasted corn, green onion, lomi tomato, diced chilies, cream sauce, green goddess & dynamite sauce. ~ FRIED CATFISH w/ Fire Roasted Street Corn - 4.5/5 Reminds me of NOLA. An excellent fried Catfish; crispy, mild and flaky without being overly oily and heavy. I thought the catfish could be a bit meatier portion wise. Grilled available as well. The Roasted Street Corn was perfect as well. ~ French Fries - 4/5 Brilliant Fries. Simple, crispy, slightly salty, just about perfect. Solid spot. I was impressed with the Fish and Chips as well, lightly battered, tender and crispy and it didn't make me feel bloated or lethargic after I ate. We have been coming to California Fish Grill on Cherry Ave, Blossom Hills for years, but today I witnessed a serious sanitation issue. One employee (lighter hair, blue gloves) in front of kitchen area, used a salt/pepper packet to clean her teeth, then continued working with the same gloves. With those same gloves, she helped customers at the ordering screen, opened the refrigerator for sauces, handed out food bags, swept the floor, squeezed a wet towel from other counter to wiped counters, and handled a hot pan to clean around them! No glove change at all. I even took a photo, but out of respect for her privacy, I did not post it. Management should fully review the cameras between 2:15 and 3:00 PM -- everything happened one after another like a scene from a show. This is not the employee's fault; it's a management failure. Basic hygiene was ignored, and it made us regret eating there today. I hope they address this immediately. Customers deserve a clean and safe environment! read more

The family loves CFG! We tried their other location on evergreen, but the Almaden location is my favorite! It's spacious and has a lot more parking spots available. You order on a self service kiosk and wait for your food and name to be called at the counter. You can either pick it up yourself or bring it to the table. The staff are so attentive and friendly. I ordered their dynamite shrimp bowl and it was packed with flavor. Lots of shrimp for protein and a large bed of rice for carbs. We came here tonight to try their new salad. We ordered the Greek shrimp salad and the grilled salmon salad. You place your order at the front kiosk and they text you when it is ready. The food came out quickly. The grilled salmon salad was very good. There was a good portion of salmon. The Greek shrimp salad was just okay. The shrimp were overly seasoned and the dressing wasn't that good for a Greek dressing. It lacked acidity which it needed badly. The part I did enjoy were the cucumbers and tomatoes. They were very generous with the veggies which I appreciated. When we were finished, an employee took away our dirty dishes, which was very nice. The inside has lots of seating. Whenever I'm in this area at lunch time, I love to stop in and enjoy their fresh fish. Food is always delicious and prepared fresh - and their vegetable side dishes are marvelous. (My go to is a Swahi plate with cauliflower rice and grilled vegetables.) They've automated their ordering, making things go just a bit faster and the food is, without exception in my experience, truly excellent. The service is always impeccable. The employees are so nice and friendly all the time. The place can get a bit packed but the ambiance is always a good vibe. I had the classic combo, friend shrimp with fries and a feta tomato salad. The portions and so big food is so fresh and flavorful! The new garlic bread they have is so delicious and served with a cheese sauce yum I've never had a bad experience here at this location it's always consistent and on point. Husband and I had dinner Sunday, June 29th. Ever since they got the pre-order screens for customers to place their orders, this place has gone downhill. Now that the customers have to plug in their order employees feel they do not need to help. We waited for our food 35 minutes. My food was given to someone else. Yes, everyone makes mistakes. But how they handle it was horrible. Tried to cover it up. My husband was done with his food. Finally got my food. It was under cooked because they try to rush. I had been wanting to check out this place for a long time. Don't know why it took me so long. We ordered at the kiosk and it had the option of wild caught salmon so I got that. After we were sitting down, the woman at the counter said they were out of wild caught salmon so we had to switch to regular salmon. Nothing was said on her part until I went back and asked "How much was the wild caught compared to the regular salmon?" They weren't going to credit me until I said something. She immediately offered me a shrimp skewer for free and I was happy with that. The food was pretty good. The shrimp skewer was our favorite thing of the meal. We would definitely order that if we return. I like that I can order a nice, healthy meal at a fast food restaurant. Don't expect an amazing salmon meal but it's decent. It did bother me that I had to say something about the price difference in the salmon I ordered compared to what they ended up giving me. But it's whatever. They took care of me in the end. Dang. This place has gone way downhill since I first went. First off- they've gone complete contactless for ordering. Which honestly I don't mind. What I take issue with is almost every side besides white rice, fries, and zucchini being an upgrade of at least $1.25 or more. I unfortunately came on a day where they were out of white rice, which seems to be the default for most of their plates. I decided to get brown rice because it was the only side starch that was not fried and I had to pay an extra two dollars for, from what you can tell, is probably about 2 ounces of rice which in my opinion is just highway robbery. If you're out of white rice, you should not be charging extra for your only other option. The food itself was good however they did ask how you would like your tuna prepared and I said medium and it was definitely well done. Had it not been smothered in sauce, I would've gone back and had them remake it but it's whatever. There seemed to be only two people working during a busy lunch hour. I seriously love this place. If you have small kids, it's the best place to go for a fast casual, healthy restaurant with a kid friendly ambience. My son loves the white fish kids meal with garlic butter and eats the entire fish. The avocado bowl is the best. It has a whole avocado, corn, brussels, beans, and then you can add a meat. Price point is fair too. Customer service is the best thing there too. The manager Michael has helped us out many times with complicated orders. It was around 2:30pm so the restaurant wasn't crowded and I wZ able to find parking right out front. Cute place and was actually pretty busy considering it was between lunch and dinner hours. You order from a digital kiosk which isn't my favorite but I'm seeing these more and more. After ordering, I sat and waited at a nearby table. I could see the orders being plated and those looked pretty tasty. A few minutes later, my order was ready and off I went. I was a little worried things would cool off before I got home (Campbell) but I was happily surprised that everything was still really warm. Here's what I ordered: CLAM CHOWDER: pass on this. I'm A huge clam chowder fan and in my opinion, this was not a chowder. It was all watery broth and cream with literal flecks FLECKS of potato and clams. The flavor was fine but over all it's a hard pass for me FRIED FISH SANDWICH: other reviewers mentions that the bottom bun gets super soggy and this was my experience as well. So much so that I opted to remove it all together. The fish was cooked perfectly however it lacked much flavor. Salt or lemon would have been nice to break up the richness. Coconut SHRIMP: these were really yummy and I loved the dipping sauce. Overall this is a good option if you're looking for a quick meal that's not a burger or pizza. The service was good and quick and the restaurant is clean and has plenty of seating. I paid extra for a side of asparagus and they were flat? They didn't taste fresh but rather like they were previously frozen. I parked closer to that fishing store and walked over, but I figured my car was safer in the middle around nobody versus all the traffic of cars driving on the main strips. The lady looked rather busy so I didn't want to trouble her, so I waited in line to order from the touchscreen kiosk. Everything on the menu was surprisingly easy to order from! I am not a fan of technology, but this ordering system was very self-explanatory, even for me! It took about 25 minutes for me to get my two lunch items, the vegetarian bowl with added mahi-mahi for myself and then my aunt got two fish tacos. We both really enjoyed our meals and commented on how fresh all the ingredients were!! Only sad thing was I ordered some coconut shrimp , and when I received my order, the lady tied up the bag, and since it took me about 25 minutes, I didn't check the bag nor did the lady with the receipt and I walked out the door. As I drove another 20 minutes to my aunts house in Evergreen area, I found I was missing the coconut shrimp. I had to call back and sadly I live on the other side of town so I had to speak with a manager about getting a credit. The manager was very polite and understanding, but I guess I'll have to go back and get my other meal replacement. Lol I don't mind but it was a very busy plaza. Especially for a vegetarian--it's worth the price.
