Grilled tilapia with teriyaki sauce and 2x kaleslaw
    Karina S.

Big fan of CA fish grill and have found food portions and quality consistent between the locations. My go to is the grilled tilapia with teriyaki sauce and kaleslaw. Casual ambiance, solid prices, and quick service.

Had to make my Friday Lent visit to the Fish food restaurants. The fish tacos with rice and beans side and the clam chowder were perfect for the belly and my wallet. Service was great. All the staff were pleasant and happy to serve us hungry customers. Plenty of room to sit and nice and cool inside. The menu has also grown with selections. Keeps this customer coming back.

Affordable self serve restaurant that offers fresh seafood ingredients. It kind of like a fast food style ambiance where you prepay for the food, pick up your order, sit yourself and get your own drinks. Service non existent, but efficient. Pricing is very affordable, I love the ahi poke with a side of fried fish. They have plenty of choices from rockfish, salmon, chicken etc....lots of items to choose from.

You order your meal through self service order kiosks. Then you seat yourself. I had the grilled salmon with garlic sauce & brown rice. Also had the side of Brussel sprouts at an additional charge. Food was fresh and I liked it. My husband had the side Caesar salad and coconut shrimp. He also had the grilled fish tacos either cauliflower rice and kale slaw. I tasted his cauliflower rice and it was cold. And I didn't like the taste. My husband didn't like it either. But we were both pleasantly surprised about the clam chowder. It was delicious!

    Greek shrimp salad

We came here tonight to try their new salad. We ordered the Greek shrimp salad and the grilled salmon salad. You place your order at the front kiosk and they text you when it is ready. The food came out quickly. The grilled salmon salad was very good. There was a good portion of salmon. The Greek shrimp salad was just okay. The shrimp were overly seasoned and the dressing wasn't that good for a Greek dressing. It lacked acidity which it needed badly. The part I did enjoy were the cucumbers and tomatoes. They were very generous with the veggies which I appreciated. When we were finished, an employee took away our dirty dishes, which was very nice. The inside has lots of seating. The tables were all clean and ready to be used. There is also seating outside. Next time I'll try something else.

I've been to the one before in West San Jose and really liked that experience. Maybe my order ordering was off but the salmon was dry and chewy. The fries were stale. The beans and bread were ok. Service was very slow. The restaurant was clean though and the workers were friendly.

I had been wanting to check out this place for a long time. Don't know why it took me so long. We ordered at the kiosk and it had the option of wild caught salmon so I got that. After we were sitting down, the woman at the counter said they were out of wild caught salmon so we had to switch to regular salmon. Nothing was said on her part until I went back and asked "How much was the wild caught compared to the regular salmon?" They weren't going to credit me until I said something. She immediately offered me a shrimp skewer for free and I was happy with that. The food was pretty good. The shrimp skewer was our favorite thing of the meal. We would definitely order that if we return. I like that I can order a nice, healthy meal at a fast food restaurant. Don't expect an amazing salmon meal but it's decent. It did bother me that I had to say something about the price difference in the salmon I ordered compared to what they ended up giving me. But it's whatever. They took care of me in the end. If we're in the area and wanted something quick and healthy, I would return.

Dang. This place has gone way downhill since I first went. First off- they've gone complete contactless for ordering. Which honestly I don't mind. What I take issue with is almost every side besides white rice, fries, and zucchini being an upgrade of at least $1.25 or more. I unfortunately came on a day where they were out of white rice, which seems to be the default for most of their plates. I decided to get brown rice because it was the only side starch that was not fried and I had to pay an extra two dollars for, from what you can tell, is probably about 2 ounces of rice which in my opinion is just highway robbery. If you're out of white rice, you should not be charging extra for your only other option. The food itself was good however they did ask how you would like your tuna prepared and I said medium and it was definitely well done. Had it not been smothered in sauce, I would've gone back and had them remake it but it's whatever. There seemed to be only two people working during a busy lunch hour. They were friendly I guess but not very attentive. It's such a letdown because this place has so much potential to be great as it is one of the only fast food fish restaurants.

Thrill of the Grill West Coast chain of restaurants that began in SoCal in 1998, and now sports almost sixty restaurants throughout (mostly) Cali, Nevada, and Arizona. As the name suggests, they focus on healthy, flame-grilled seafood options in a fast casual environment. This location is at the Almaden Ranch shopping center (i.e., where Bass Pro is) and has been in operation since Feb '20. The Good; *Friendly service *Fast-casual order up front with the kiosk or one of the team members, pay, and they text you when your order is ready for pickup. *Outdoor seating *They focus on sustainably-caught and farmed seafood following the Monterey Bay Aquarium's "Seafood Watch" list. *Beer in bottles *Shrimp skewer was delicious and maybe the best thing I've had here. *Fish is usually grilled nicely and tastes pretty good. Nothing I've had here is bad, but nothing is really memorable, either. The Meh: *I wouldn't recommend the poke bowl here, as it was 90% rice and just a small spoonful of actual fish. The Ugly: *Parking here at Almaden Ranch is horribly designed and usually a fucking shit-show. Conclusion: 3.5* Good healthy meals at reasonable prices.

this place is perfect for something healthy and flavorful meals. The place is really clean and service is very fast. I got the grilled sea bass with sweet chili sauce and it was amazing. The Brussels sprouts were also really good, I would recommend. Overall, great experience, great food! Something I can go to everyday.

I've been wanting to try this place for some time and we stopped by on a weekday. The ordering system is pretty simple and you're able to get an idea of dishes based on the images. There's ample sitting indoors and outdoors. The soda machines has some unique flavors to try. I was craving some shrimp so I got the shrimp plate that had 3 different kinds of shrimp. It had the coconut fried shrimp, grilled shrimp, and skewer shrimp. I choose the glaze of sweet and sour. My husband got the fish and chips and they had large pieces. The fries were disappointing and tasted stale. Overall the food was just okay.

There weren't that many options of sauces when I ate here but it was fine. The birrias and lengua tacos were so good. All the tacos came with two small tortillas to hold in the heaping amount of meat. The horchata here is had more cream than I'm used to. Like more milk was added or something, not enough spices or flavors added in IMO. Ordering was easy, I felt rushed, but it was the waiting to hear my number that was difficult. Listening for the number in the dining area while the music was blasting was difficult, so it's better to wait by the truck.
