It was so hard for me to choose an item but the staff there is awesome and patient - he recommended the nashville hot chicken sandwich. My husband had already decided on tri tip and I of course wanted a shareable so we got the pulled pork mac and cheese. Some of the highlights - the pulled pork mac and cheese was so flavorful! I do wish the mac was a bit cheesier but the meat and onions on top helped save that. The sauce on the nashville chicken sandwich had more of a buffalo chicken flavor to me than nashville chicken, but still great with how crispy the chicken was. Really empty, my girlfriend and I were the only people there, there is plenty of space for parking and it's near a 7/11, which is great but I could see how it could be packed for sports games. Anyways, we were told we could sit anywhere and browse the menu and then go up to the counter to place an order, they bring the food to you, ask you what sauces you want, and you are also free to grab the sauces as well. As for food, we got the bbq combo with 3 meats, and bao buns! I honestly forgot what meats my girlfriend got for the combo, but hopefully the picture uphold the meats. The bao buns were superb honestly tasted so good. Having grown up around the area, I had always heard of Malibu Grill, but never went out exploring much as a kid/teen. But definitely heard of other classmates coming here and enjoying it. I heard the ownership had, but it still seems to be a family favorite. Looking for an alternative to Armadillo Willy's, we called in around 1pm to order a platter of food for a Father's Day dinner. They sounded pretty busy already, so we were glad they still had enough for us to put our order in for a 5:30pm pick up. We ordered a full rack of ribs and smoked brisket family meal with coleslaw, mac n cheese, potato salad, and cornbread. It was more than enough, and not to mention had great flavor overall. I can't say the ribs were fall off the bone, but they were very meaty, with a good flavor, and pretty good for bbq that's just down the street. And personally, I prefer my coleslaw just slightly sweeter, but I'm sure patrons here appreciate that it's not overly dressed. Also, the cornbread was pretty darn good - the right amount of sweetness, crunchy on the outside, not too crumbly on the inside. I really loved the flavor of the potato salad and mac n cheese. The potato salad has a nice bite to it, and there's some herb in there (chive? green onion? parsley?) that gives it a good kick of flavor. Lastly, the mac n cheese had just the right amount of cheesiness for me. Father's day dinner was a success! Would love to come back to try their pizza and burgers/sandwiches. After smelling delicious BBQ from this place on multiple times, I finally was able to visit. I paid $30.59 for a Nashville hot chicken sandwich, side of mac and cheese, and an IPA at 6:40 pm on a Friday. This included a 20% tip because times are tough and I anticipated decent service. The restaurant is located in a small strip mall with a 7-11 and a doughnut store. Ambiance is definitely casual but it's very clean and well lit. When I came in I was given a number and told they would be bringing food to my table. Great! I took a seat. The place was lively but not packed. Then the waiting started. 10 minutes in - this is fine, I want freshly made food. 20 minutes in - hmm wish they would at least bring me my drink, maybe the mac and cheese is cooked to order? Taking a while. 30 minutes in - how hard is it to cook some pasta and chicken? Why is this taking so long? Is this normal? At this point I'm wondering did they forget my order? Am I supposed to get up and get it? Is it me? 40 minutes in - this is ridiculous. Why did I come here? Even if this is the best Nashville hot chicken and mac and cheese ever I don't have an hour to kill getting casual food. Why has nobody come up to tell me the cook was unexpectedly abducted by aliens or a robber stole all their chicken? Am I meant to wait until they close? The food finally came after close to 45 minutes and... well you can look in the pictures, but they don't really do it justice. To say this was not worth the money I spent is an understatement, this food was an insult to me. I feel more like I got stolen from by paying $30 for the food here. The hot chicken sandwich wasn't spicy, had a burnt taste, and other than that had basically no flavor. It was juicy, but that's about all they did right. The mac & cheese was even worse. $9 for a tiny little mound? And the quality and taste were like Easy Mac. The pasta was over cooked, the sauce was too thin, how did it take them 45 minutes to cook this? Oh and the best part, after the 45 minute wait, they still managed to forget my beer. Called ahead for an order a day before and when I showed up they didn't have the food ready, it's ok let me explain, because they said they wanted to keep the food warm and cut to order. The steak fajita salad now has a chipotle vinaigrette and no garlic bread.
